As of September 29th, more than 400 Starbucks locations have been closed across the US as Seattle-based coffee retailers aim to implement operational changes.

The closure is part of a “Back to Starbucks” strategy founded by former Chipotle CEO Brian Nicole, who became Starbucks’ CEO in September 2024.

The coffee chain didn’t provide a list of US locations to close, but it is expected that 18,300 coffee shops will fall from 18,734 by the end of September, according to its latest quarterly revenue report.

The latest round of closure comes just after Starbucks announced it would close 80-90 “pickup” stores in more than 20 states.

This is what you need to know.

Where will Starbucks be closed?

Although the company did not release a list of closures, USA Today has compiled a running list through local media coverage, Starbucks’ own location list and detailed reviews compiled by Starbucks employees.

YouTube pays Trump $24.5 million to settle account suspension lawsuit

YouTube will pay $24.5 million to resolve the lawsuit Trump brought against the platform after his account was suspended after the January 6th riot.

play

  • YouTube has agreed to a $24.5 million settlement in a lawsuit filed by former President Donald Trump.
  • The lawsuit stemmed from Trump’s account halt following the Capitol riots on January 6th.
  • Trump’s channel was revived in March 2023, allowing new content to be uploaded.

YouTube agreed to pay $24.5 million to resolve the lawsuit brought by President Donald Trump against the Alphabet-owned online video platform for the suspension of his account following the fatal January 6th riot four years ago.

The settlement was filed September 29th in federal court in Oakland, California.

YouTube suspended Trump’s official channel on January 12, 2021, six days after the riots, citing the possibility of violence from uploading new content from the time.

A few weeks after the riot, when a mob of former presidential supporters tried to disrupt Joe Biden’s Congressional recognition for the 2020 presidential election, Trump was banned from a range of social media and video platforms, including YouTube, Twitter, and now X and Facebook.

Officials said an estimated 10,000 people broke police barriers and when they entered the Capitol on January 6, 2021, an estimated 2,000 people entered the Capitol. The riots resulted in the deaths of four people. For example, we included demonstrators who were shot dead while trying to reach a fleeing lawmaker. Capitol police officers later died of suffering a stroke, and four other officers have since taken their lives. More than 150 officers were injured, many of whom were permanently injured.

Trump filed a lawsuit against CEO in July 2021 against Twitter, Facebook owner Meta and Alphabet’s Google. Trump claimed that the platform illegally silenced conservative perspectives.

Earlier this year, Facebook and Instagram owner Meta settled at $25 million, while X settled at about $10 million.

In March 2023, YouTube announced that Trump’s channels will no longer be restricted and new content can be uploaded.

Under the terms of the settlement with YouTube, $22 million will be paid to the Trust of National Mall, a nonprofit dedicated to building the $200 million ballroom that Trump is building in the White House.

The remaining $2.5 million settlement payments will go to other plaintiffs in the case, including the American Conservative Coalition.

Michigan church shooter dad calls his motivation “unrelated.”

“It was a nightmare,” Thomas Sanford said since when his son allegedly fired a fire at a Michigan church Sunday morning.

Thomas Sanford apologised to those killed and injured in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, and his son, Thomas Jacob Sanford, attacked the church during Sunday morning service.

“I feel horrible to all the hurt families and they’re the same crap I go, my wife and I go down,” Sanford said. “We apologize.”

Sanford spoke to Detroit Free Press, part of the USA Today Network in a short phone interview on Monday, September 29th. He told reporters he was wary and didn’t want to say much.

Investigators say his 40-year-old son plunged his pickup truck into the Latter-day Saints’ Church of Jesus Christ before climbing up and firing attack rifles at the congregation. They also believe he grabbed the fire that destroyed the church.

Four church members were killed in the attack. Eight other people were injured. Young Sanford died in a shootout with police.

His father said the young Sanford was a four-year Marine who served in Iraq. Sanford wouldn’t have said whether the war changed his son or not.

“He’s back. I’m glad he’s back on one,” Sanford said. “He was in logistics. He drove a tow and went outside and picked up the car. Once he was on fire, but most of the time he was fine.”

Sanford said his son was dedicated to his family and his country.

“He loved the United States. He loved his family,” Sanford said. “He was a good guy. He was a family man.”

Sanford did not speculate what drove his son to attack the church.

“The only thing I can say is that it was my son who did it,” Sanford said. “Why? It’s irrelevant. It happened. We’re dealing with it. It was a nightmare.”

Investigators continue to search for motivation.

Eric Adams drops out of the New York race, will that help Cuomo defeat the Mamdani?

0

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has deleted his re-elected bid. It is expected to help Andrew Cuomo’s former governor, but will it be enough to stop the mum ticks?

play

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ announcement on September 28 that he had dropped his bid for reelection raised hopes that Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani, Zohran Mamdani, could be stopped by former New York governor Andrew Cuomo, who has run independently after losing the Democratic primary to Mandani.

Adams, a centristic Democrat like Cuomo, had placed independent bids after a federal charge on corruption charges that were withdrawn by the Justice Department after Trump took office.

However, if Republican candidate Curtis Swawa stays in the race, it’s unlikely that Cuomo will take the lead in Mamdani in recent polls.

Adams made a late exit

Basel Smickle, a professor at Columbia University and former director of the New York Democrats, said Adams’ decision to leave the race four weeks before early voting begins makes it difficult for Cuomo to his advantage. In fact, Adams’s name is still visible in the polls because it’s too late to be removed.

Smikle pointed to Mamdani’s major June uprising, consistently high votes, and more recently a wave of well-known support from former vice president Kamala Harris, Gov. Kathy Hochul and major community organizations. The top two Democrats from New York City on the Council — Hakeem Jeffries, the minority leader and Charles E. Schumer, the Senate minority leader.

“I think the overall story will remain the same,” he said. “Zohran (Mamdani) has a younger candidate who has revitalized the race as more founding candidates.”

In opinion polls, mum dani thinks a lot

A few weeks before Adams’ Sunday’s announcement, the poll raced an effective showdown between Mamdani and Cuomo. Adams followed two top runners for months, but Sliwa, who is already at a disadvantage in the famous blue city, failed to cover competitive figures.

Now, with Adams leaving the race, his vote share could fall to Cuomo.

The problem with Cuomo is that Adams’ support is smaller than Mamdani’s lead. In the three most recent major polls released within the last two weeks, Mamdani held a double-digit lead 21-18 percentage points ahead of Cuomo. The poll showed a wide range of three between the three surveys, with Adams with only 7-9% support, with 9%, 11% and 17%.

In a Quinnipiac University poll of voters in early July, pollers ran a number of hypothetical tripartite races as Adams escaped the run. They found that Cuomo earned the biggest bounty with a 6-point boost, but Mamdani scored 1 point and Swawa’s support percentage remains the same. That leaves Mamdani with 46% support among potential voters, and 46% support among Cuomo, 17% swawah with 30% of support.

A New York Times poll and analysis on September 9 estimated similar results, with Adams’ supporters likely to throw weight behind Cuomo. The analysis modeled a positive, bidirectional race between Cuomo and the mum tick. Its two-way model shows a very competitive race, with 48% supporting mum ticks and 44% supporting Cuomo.

Even if all Adams supporters gathered in Cuomo, Smikul said the former governor “is still a long way to go from filling that gap.”

Adams does not approve Cuomo

On September 5, news outlets reported that the Trump administration was considering serving Adams as Saudi Arabia’s ambassador. Adams initially said he had not received a formal offer and always wanted to be mayor of New York City, but declared his decision to leave the race on September 28th, with a nine-minute video address posted on X.

“A South Jamaican child who grew up with learning disabilities would have thought one day he would become mayor of the world’s largest city,” Adams said in his speech.

To “weak” his campaign, Adams promoted the administration’s policies on housing, crime, education and social services before denounced the media and independent urban institutions that manage the city’s campaign finance system. He also claimed he was “illegally charged for fighting for this city,” and that he referenced a now wise federal complaint, accusing the mayor in 2024 of accepting his country’s travels and political donations to take action that would benefit his country.

Adams did not support the candidate for the address, but appears to be veiled insults by Mamdani and his progressive platform, saying, “Extremism is growing in politics.”

In particular, Trump does not support Republican Curtis Swawa, the founder of the Guardian Angels anti-crime patrol group.

Adams, the 65-year-old Democratic mayor who was elected in 2021, has been facing calls for dropping out of the race for months, plagued by scandals, resignation and allegations of corruption. That pressure came from Washington recently, and Trump pushed for a one-on-one race with Mamdani, 33, who represents part of Queens in the New York State Legislature.

The remaining three candidates in the race quickly issued a statement on September 28th in response to Adam’s news.

Mamdani, whose campaign focuses on living expenses in the city, has issued a video statement denounced the mayor’s record.

“A city that was already difficult has become nearly impossible for those who call it home,” he said. “But a new day is here. In the past year, tens of thousands of people have built the biggest grassroots campaign our city has ever seen. We knocked on millions of doors and made the city affordable. In just five weeks, we can turn the page on the politics of big money and small ideas and New Yorkers can be proud.”

A spokesman for Daniel Kurzyna Curtis Sliwa’s campaign did not mention Adams at all in response to the news.

“Curtis Swa is the only candidate who can defeat Mamdani,” Kurjina said. “Our team, our resources and funding are unparalleled. Most importantly, we have the best solution to help working people stay in New York City and feel safe.”

In a statement, Cuomo hit a different tone, but said he believes Adams “puts the happiness of New York City ahead of his personal ambitions.” Cuomo also said he could destroy New York City, adding that “it’s not too late to stop them,” but that it didn’t go into further details.

“Mayor Adams has a lot to be proud of his achievements,” Cuomo said in a statement on September 28th. “Only in New York, a child who grew up in a Bushwick tenement, who once worked as a squeegee boy and a postal clerk, becomes mayor. Whatever the difference we have, Eric Adams’ story is undoubtedly a testament to the resilience, the spirit of this city.”

JK Rowling responds to “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson on social media

0

play

JK Rowling informs her feelings about her statements against her political views about the “Harry Potter” star.

Writing his beloved young adult series and essential to creating a highly popular film franchise based on the book, Rowling has been an outspoken opponent of trans rights in recent years.

In X’s long tillard, she aims for the “privilege” of actress Emma Watson, talking about personal communication between the two, Rowling says that she is ready to hug her tongue long and enter the ring with the actress from “Beauty and Beast.”

“I don’t have an eternal agreement from the actor who played the character I once created,” Rowling, 60, wrote in a September 29th post. “The idea is as ridiculous as checking out the boss I had when I was 21 on what I had to say recently.

“Emma Watson and her co-stars have all the rights to embrace the ideology of gender identity,” she continued. “That belief is legally protected and I don’t want to see them being threatened with loss of work, violence or death for them.”

Her post follows a recent interview in which Watson, who played Hermione Granger in all eight of the “Harry Potter” films, said she cherished the time she spent together despite her vehemently opposed Rowling’s views.

“I really don’t believe in that experience and I have the love, support and opinion that it means I don’t value Joe and I have the individual experiences.” “I never believe that one person will deny the other and deny that person’s experience.

“There’s no world where I can cancel her or cancel her,” Watson said.

However, that love didn’t seem to flow in either direction as Rowling expressed disappointment at X that Watson continued to speak out about their tense relationship.

“Emma and Dan in particular have made it clear over the past few years that we believe our previous association of professionals has given them a certain right to publicly criticize me and my views,” she wrote. Radcliffe and Watson, and Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the film, have distanced himself from Rowling’s anti-trance perspective over the past decade.

“A few years after they finished acting in Potter, they continue to take over the role of de facto spokesmen of the world I created,” she continued. “It’s hard to shake up certain protections when I’ve known people since I was 10. Until recently, I couldn’t abandon the memories of children who needed to be kind and collaborative through dialogue in a big scary movie studio.

USA Today reached out to Watson representatives for comment.

Rowling went on to say that Watson’s 2022 speech delivered at the BAFTA Awards was widely seen as a message of support for the trans community and was a “turning point” for her. She claimed that Watson requested Rowling to hand over a handwritten note saying, “I’m sorry I’m so sorry that I’m going to be so sorry that you’re going through.”

“This came back when the threat of death, rape and torture against me was at their peak. I was always worried about the safety of my family when I had to significantly tighten my personal security measures,” Rowling wrote in X.

“Like others who have never experienced an adult life that is not caught up in wealth and fame, Emma has very few real-life experiences of ignorance about how ignorant she is,” the author writes, listing a set of scenarios in which she feels “mixed” institutions. The tone she adopted coincides with much of the history of public comments on gender fluidity and transgender rights.

“I wasn’t a millionaire in 1.4 billion years. I was in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous,” Rowling wrote. “Therefore, I understand from my life experience how Emma understands the trash can of women’s rights that has been very enthusiastic about participating for women and girls without her privilege.

“The biggest irony here is that Emma had not decided in a recent interview to declare that she would love me and treasure me — I think she was adopted because she realized that my total corrupt accusations were no longer too fashionable — I might not have been this honest,” the author continued.

“Adults cannot expect to be comfortable with activist movements that regularly call assassinations of their friends and assert their rights to the love of their former friends, as if their friends were actually mothers,” she added. “Emma is against me and can actually discuss her feelings about me in public, but I have the same rights and I have finally decided to exercise it.”

Glaad, a global LGBTQ+ advocacy and nonprofit organization, has identified Rowling as one of the most prominent anti-trans voices in entertainment, excluded both her financial involvement in the UK Supreme Court, excluded trans women from their legal definitions and removed the history of anti-trans rhetoric online.

Will the government be paid for Social Security if it closes?

0

play

Less than 48 hours before the potential sub-government shutdown, Congress and the White House continue to refrain from keeping the government open or expiring health benefits for the roughly 24 million Americans who are being reported through the Affordable Care Act.

Congress will need to avoid a partial shutdown until the end of the day, September 30th. This will take effect if a last-minute agreement is not reached at 12:01am on October 1st. If closed, many federal agencies and services will be closed or significantly restricted, affecting everyday people who rely on programs such as Social Security.

Social Security is funded by the government, but it doesn’t do the same as national parks and the military. As a result, existing beneficiaries will feel the impact of the closure differently than Americans who have not yet received Social Security payments.

Here’s what you need to know about Social Security payments during government closures:

When could government closures occur?

The government’s current funds expired late at night on September 30th, with October 1st being the potential start of a partial government closure.

Since 1981, Reuters has shown that there have been 14 partial government closures, most have only lasted a day or two. One of the latest closures was one of the longest 35 days that lasted between December 2018 and December 2019 and January 2019, and between December 2018 and January 2019, due to a deadlock between the president and Congress over border security.

What happens during the government shutdown?

If Congress does not pass the budget law or Trump does not sign it, programs relying on federal agencies and annual funds will be suspended. During the government shutdown, hundreds of thousands of federal workers, considered non-essential, mean that they will not work and will not be paid until the funds are recovered.

Key workers in areas such as law enforcement and the military continue to work without wages, and both groups will ultimately be refunded once the government is funded and reopened.

Will social security payments continue when the government closes?

Social Security benefits, including Supplementary Security Income (SSI), retirement, disability and survivor benefits, will continue uninterrupted through government closures.

Social Security Benefits Programs are considered legally mandatory expenditures. That is, according to the Social Security Agency (SSA), its budget does not rely on annual Congressional approval. Unlike discretionary spending that requires Congressional agreement on the costs of money, mandatory programs must continue. This means that Social Security payments are distributed over a regular schedule.

If you rely on these perks, you will need to continue receiving your checks or direct deposits as normal, regardless of what happens on October 1st.

However, other services offered by SSA, such as handling new applications, can be affected by shutdowns and the resulting shortage of workers and government systems.

What challenges do Social Security beneficiaries face in government closures?

While existing payments continue without confusion, people in need of Social Security benefits and those in the process of applying can face major delays during government shutdowns.

Those who are applying to access and accessing retirement, disability, or survivor benefits for the first time may face extended waiting times. People who are trying to update or receive benefits that handle the backlog in these processes as fewer employees are actively working to process the application, verify qualifications and provide the necessary documentation.

This is especially true for those that require manual review. Medical evaluations of disability benefits, appeals, or restructuring for rejection or repetitive payments and repetitive benefits calculations of recently deceased federal employee or veteran’s family are all examples of processes that can be delayed or suspended completely in closures.

Trump releases plans to warn Hamas and end the war in Gaza

Last week, the Trump administration announced its Middle East Peace Plan to end the nearly two-year war between Israel and Hamas.

play

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have agreed to a peace plan that will lead to the release of hostages, end the war and put Gaza under new management.

The two leaders proposed the announcement as a major breakthrough in the conflict, where previous ceasefires plunged and regional tensions surged as Israel continues its punishment campaign that sparked international outrage over the deaths of civilians and humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

Its implementation is subject to support from Hamas, saying Hamas has not yet received the plan. Trump said at a White House event that if Hamas were not accepted, Israel would fully support us in continuing its military operations in Gaza.

“This can be done in a simple way or the hard way, but you can. We like simple things, but we have to do that,” Netanyahu said.

Under the plan Trump proposed on September 29, the war will end, and Hamas will be released within 72 hours of the remaining hostages in Gaza, filmed nearly two years ago during the terrorist attacks on Israel.

Gaza has also been redeveloped and is chosen by Palestinians who want to stay for Palestinians to stay. Hamas fighters will get pardon and the territory will come under temporary governance by a new Palestinian commission, which will be overseen by the “Committee of Peace.” Trump personally chaired the panel along with other foreign leaders, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

“We feel we have a positive answer, but if we don’t, you’ll have our full support to do what you have to do, as you know,” Trump told Israeli leaders.

Trump last week presented his plan to the Arab leaders privately and to pressure the increasingly isolated Israel to end the war that began when Hamas militants attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages.

Since then, Israel has leveled out the large strip of Gaza. An estimated 66,000 Palestinians have been killed, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health. The dire situation in Gaza has sparked international backlash, urging several Western countries to recognize the Palestinian state against the United States and Israel.

The conference also produced another development that could help with peace negotiations. Amid the call between Trump and Qatar’s Prime Minister, Netanyahu expressed regret over Qatar’s missile strike against Hamas, which killed Qatar soldiers. Netanyahu further expressed regret over violating Qatar’s sovereignty and said Israel would not take a strike in Qatar again, the White House said in a statement.

Israel carried out an airstrike on September 9th targeting Hamas political leaders in Qatar’s Doha. Six people were killed, including five Hamas members.

Netanyahu visited the White House for the fourth time this year, sought to strengthen support from key allies amid a fierce push to stop conflict by world leaders. The UK, Canada, Australia and France all recognized the Palestinian state this month, infuriating Netanyahu, who denounced the move during a fierce UN speech. Many representatives left during their speech, where he strengthened his opposition to an independent Palestinian state.

The US has been strongly supportive of Israel’s response to the October 7 attack, but Trump is becoming more and more annoyed as the conflict drags on. Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Netanyahu on September 27th to hash details of the peace plan.

A pivotal aspect of Israel’s plan: releases about 48 hostages believed to be in Gaza, with around 20 still alive. The plan also includes the release of 250 life-row inmates in Israel, 1,700 detainees and 15 deceased Gazaan bodies.

At a meeting with Netanyahu in February, Trump proposed that the US take over Gaza, relocate around 2 million Palestinians to neighboring Arab countries, and redevelop the war-torn enclave into the “Middle Eastern Riviera.” According to his plans, Gaza residents will be encouraged to stay and provide “the opportunity to build a better Gaza.”

Trump posted about the conspiracy theory’s “Medbed.” This is what’s going on

0

play

On September 27, President Donald Trump shared a video that was clearly generated by AI that promoted the medical conspiracy theory, “Medbed.”

The video, which was subsequently removed from his Truth Social Account, resembles the Fox News segment of the show hosted by the president’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, but it did not air on the network.

“Every American will receive their own Medbed card right away,” said Trump’s AI rendering.

But just like with mock news reports, “Medbeds” doesn’t actually exist.

The “Medbed” plot has roots in the Canon movement, falsely claiming that all medical beds exist and are protected from the public.

This moment reminds us that medical misinformation can ramp out on social media. It is also important to pay attention to content generated by AI, even if the post comes from a well-known public figure or a seemingly verified source. It is true that recent innovations in health technology have encouraged the movement to health and longevity, but “Medbeds” is not one of these new treatments.

According to a 2024 poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation, most Americans encounter incorrect health information online, and many are unsure if it is accurate.

Experts explained that people should learn to recognize the difference between accidental misinformation and intentional misinformation.

Medical misinformation shared online has real consequences

Almost 70% of doctors who voted for thought that patient confidence had declined between 2020 and 2022, but only 21% of Americans said the same thing, according to a 2023 poll.

“False information is not a perspective, it’s not a real harm,” Brian Castrucci, president of the DeBeaumont Foundation, a public health charity that commissioned the poll, previously told USA Today. “It hurts doctors. It hurts medical practices. And it hurts the American people.”

For example, during the pandemic, some people with autoimmune diseases were unable to take their prescribed hydroxychloroquine because they were misunderstood to believe that they could help many others fight Covid-19.

While the poll focuses on Covid, Castrucci said it is far beyond the pandemic.

Most doctors and the public get their information online, but are looking for somewhat different sources. The majority of doctors said they trust medical and scientific journals, internet searches and colleagues, while other adults primarily trust internet searches. These common internet searches can raise not only trusted and verified sources, but also a series of posts and websites.

Castrucci said he has type 2 diabetes and watches ads on social media for “diabetic treatment.” There’s nothing though.

Social media said, “It made it easier to spread medical misinformation to millions in just one click, not from town to town.

Don’t know how to convey medical facts from fiction? Experts offer some tips

By promoting fear and false hope, misinformation causes mental and physical fatigue, said David Nobilo Ortiz, unit head of data digital health literacy at the World Health Organization.

It directly affects government trust, government response and public health messages, which disappoints people and puts their health at risk, he previously told USA Today.

Disinformation is also a lie that people can fight back, philosopher and author Lee McIntyre argued.

“I want people to train themselves,” McIntyre suggested asking where the information in question is coming from, what is at stake, who is behind it, and what benefits it can help make that information public.

If several reliable sources, such as the CDC, agree with prominent hospitals and university experts and websites, the information is likely to be accurate, Dr. Richard Baron, president and CEO of American Internal Medicine, told USA Today.

“If you look at information that is converging from a reliable source, it’s reliable information,” he added.

And while social media can provide you with insights into your own health, Dr. Franziska Haydanek, an online health educator at Obgyn, advises you that you need to discuss new information with your own doctor. This may apply if you meet the diagnostic criteria. ”

How a proper installation can save your child’s life

0

play

If you are driving with a young child in the car, do not take off without properly setting up the car seat.

According to non-commercial safe children around the world, “A car seat used correctly can reduce the risk of death by up to 71%.” However, the group said on its website that “more than half of the car seats have not been properly used or installed.”

Make sure your car seats are in the right place and make sure your child is tightly tied up, and in the case of a crash, you’ll be much safer.

Here’s a guide on how to properly install your car seat.

Make sure you have a seat that is the right size for your child

Do research before placing your child in the car seat.

The device can have different height and weight requirements, so make sure you have purchased a car seat suitable for your child. When used correctly, the seat can reduce the risk of crashing by up to 71%.

Your state law is another important thing to follow before you buy. Find out when to keep it in a rear-facing car seat and when to switch to something you look at.

Find the perfect place to place your car seat

For children under 13, the best place to stay is in the back seat. If you are deciding to place your car seat in the second or third row of a large vehicle, read the owner’s manual and decide where to place your child’s seat.

The safest place in the car is the middle seat in the rear, so if the seat fits, you’ll want to put your child there.

How to start the installation

There are two basic ways to connect a car seat to a car seat. First, you can place the seat down and connect the seat belt to the base to stay in place.

You can also use children’s anchors and tethers to set up the seats. Connect the lower attachment of the car seat to the anchor bar of the seat and use a top tether for all front seats. Whichever configuration you use, it fits perfectly on your car seat, but we do not recommend using the seat belt base and latch at the same time.

Inch Test

Try using an inch test to make sure the car seat is in place. Start by grabbing an empty car seat and shake it left and right. If you move more than one inch in each direction, reduce it. If it doesn’t work, you can go.

I’ll put your child in the seat

Pick them up, place them on the car seat, then click on the harness and click in place. All children under the age of 5 must be placed in a 5-point harness. This should sit at armpit height for maximum protection. Try a pinch test to make sure they are well-fixed. This test can be done by pinching the strap near the shoulder. If the strap doesn’t move, it’s fine. If you can trip, it’s not tight enough.

Get help from experts

If you are unsure how to install a car seat, you can contact an expert who can help you.

According to the GM owner’s manual, “Certified Child Passenger Safety Engineers (CPSTs) are available to inspect and demonstrate how to properly use and install child restraints. In the United States, please refer to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website to determine availability of CPSTs.

Always make sure your child’s car seat is properly installed before you start driving. Even if you installed it correctly before, it’s not a pain to double check. If the child is properly equipped in the seat, they will be much safer if they are involved in a collision.

Supreme Court weighs Gislaine Maxwell’s suit in Epstein-related cases

0

The chances of success in a Supreme Court appeal are low. Here’s how Ghislaine Maxwell hopes to beat them:

play

The Supreme Court will consider whether Ghislaine Maxwell will appeal September 29th.

Maxwell filed an appeal in the High Court on April 10, claiming that her conviction for sex trafficking should abandon the minors to financial figures Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein was convicted in 2008 for soliciting minors for prostitution and was awaiting a sex trafficking trial in a Manhattan prison in 2019.

Maxwell recently relied on her after facing anger after the Trump administration announced in July that it would not release government files on Epstein.

The 63-year-old former British socialite conducted a two-day interview in July, where she failed to maintain her innocence and provide an obvious lead to investigators. Still, she was transferred to the prison in Kusia, which particularly upsets Epstein and Maxwell’s accusers, saying she doesn’t deserve priority treatment in light of her crimes.

Let’s take a look at Maxwell’s next thing:

What is Maxwell claiming in her complaint?

Maxwell argues that prosecutors could not have been able to chase her due to the terms of the plea deal signed by Epstein in 2007 months before he officially pleaded guilty to two Florida prostitution charges in 2007. The agreement contained provisions that protected potential Epstein conspirators from criminal charges.

That means federal prosecutors weren’t allowed to chase her, Maxwell says.

The Supreme Court said “When the United States makes a promise in a judicial agreement, it should ensure that it is bound by that promise,” she said in a petition in the High Court.

What does the Department of Justice say?

The Justice Department told the Supreme Court that a contract with Epstein from 2007 to 2008 only applied to prosecutors in the Southern District of Florida, while Maxwell was charged in the Southern District of New York, so prosecutors against Maxwell were allowed.

According to the Justice Department, it is clear if provisions protecting potential conspirators are read in the context of other languages of the judiciary agreement.

“In particular, the (judicial agreement) summoned the authority of R. Alexander Acosta, a US Attorney (USAO) for the Southern District of Florida, and listed only those USAO staff in its signature block,” according to a summary to the Supreme Court. This indicates that “the agreement was with the USAO, not the entire DOJ.”

What’s Maxwell’s chance?

Generally speaking, it is unlikely that a successful suit will be made to the Supreme Court.

First, the High Court must agree to consider appeals. This is a decision that usually allows different parties to submit more briefs and present oral arguments before justice makes a decision. According to the US court system, only about 1-2% of appeals that are accepted for review each year are appealed.

Maxwell’s appeal has been considered in the Supreme Court’s “Long Conference.” This is an event in which the judicial reviews up to 2,000 petitions accumulated over the summer holidays. Statistically speaking, it is even less likely that an appeal from that meeting will be reviewed. According to Scotusblog, a news site dedicated to the Supreme Court, the judiciary has agreed to review the 5-15-year-old range of these petitions since 2015. This is consistently less than 1%.

The strongest argument in Maxwell’s appeal is not particularly relevant to her case, and may be related to how her case affects other cases.

Her appeals show that mid-term courts in various regions of the country will not look to whether agreements from some federal prosecutors in the country will detain federal prosecutors somewhere else. If the Supreme Court assumes her appeal, it can resolve that question not only for her, but for everyone in the country facing it, according to her appeal.

However, the Justice Department has made it clear that the language of the Epstein agreement was not detained by federal prosecutors of New York against Maxwell. Even if other agreements within the country were intended to detain federal prosecutors in all jurisdictions, Maxwell’s case is not an appropriate measure to address it, according to the department’s summary.

The Supreme Court may analyse these arguments to determine whether Maxwell’s case is worth a limited amount of time.

What happens next?

The Supreme Court could either decide within days whether to consider Maxwell’s case or to make a decision by cornering her petition down at a future meeting.

If a judge takes the case, they will likely set up a day to schedule Maxwell and the government to submit written arguments and hear both sides have verbal discussions in court. The actual decision will probably not come for months.

If the judge doesn’t take the case, Maxwell can pursue a new appeal. Maxwell’s lawyer David Oscar Marx said there was previously another plan for an appeal.

Can Trump forgive Maxwell?

Maxwell was convicted in a federal case, so President Donald Trump has the power to relent her.

Marx says he hopes Trump will exercise his power “in a right and fair way,” and his clients are happy to testify before Congress if Trump first gives her generosity.

Trump said he had that power during a question from a Scottish reporter on July 28th, adding that it was “inappropriate” to discuss it.

The drone video captured the aftermath of a brave morning shooting and arson attack at a Michigan church on Sunday, September 28th.

Officials say the 40-year-old gunman fired on hundreds of worshipers after he plunged into a truck with two American flags at the Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ in Grand Blanc, a suburb of Flint.

The assailants then used gasoline to burn the building. He was killed in a shootout, officials said.

The video shows the rest of the building being fired, with black smoke swirling into the sky above.

Emergency vehicles are surrounded not only with crime scenes, but also with state troopers and other law enforcement officials. Check out the top footage of the story.

Police continue to search for more church attack victims

The two were fatally shot dead in the attack, and the other two bodies were found hours later in the debris of the destroyed building.

The person’s shots were in danger and the other seven were listed as stable, authorities said.

Authorities have identified the suspected shooting and arson, 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford of Burton.

As of Monday, September 29th, police continued to investigate the attack as they were searching for more casualties in the ashes and ruins of the church. Authorities called the attack “act of targeted violence.”

The IRS will repeat the paper tax refund in stages. Things you need to know before the deadline.

0

play

According to a news release issued by the department last week, the Internal Revenue Service has stopped issuing paper tax refunds since this month.

On September 23, the agency said it would move to fully electronic federal payments in accordance with an executive order signed by President Donald Trump in March.

This change will take effect on September 30th. This is the same as the Social Security Administration begins to phase out paper checks in favor of e-benefit payments.

There’s everything you need to know about the changes.

Why is there a change happening?

The IRS said it is phased out paper checks to protect against financial fraud and inappropriate payments, increase efficiency, reduce costs and increase security in federal payments.

“Paper checks are more than 16 times more likely to be lost, stolen, altered or delayed than electronic payments,” the agency said. “Direct deposits also avoid the possibility that refund checks can be returned to the IRS as non-refundable.”

Are there any changes to the tax payment process?

No changes have been made to the process of filing tax returns, the agency said. Taxpayers must submit as usual. However, the delivery method for returns is electronic.

The agency said details will be available for filing the 2025 tax before the 2026 submission season.

How long does it take to transfer electronically?

The agency said electronic refunds are generally faster, as payments are issued within 21 days in most cases. Taxpayers must submit returns to a valid bank account to receive direct deposits.

Payments sent by mail typically take more than six weeks.

How to prepare for an electronic refund

Those who want to receive an e-tax refund must provide valid bank account information to the IRS, such as routing and account number.

If an individual does not have a valid bank account, they must be opened through a bank or credit union. The IRS has resources to find financial institutions at fdic.gov/getbanked and mycreditunion.gov. Additionally, if you have a routing and an account number, it may be possible to receive payments via your mobile app provider or a prepaid debit card.

Taxpayers who do not have access to digital payment options can receive payment through alternatives sponsored by the Ministry of Finance, with details provided at a later date.

How about payment?

The method of submitting payments to the IRS has not changed so far. However, the agency said it plans to expand its electronic payment options for people to pay taxes.

“Until further notice, existing forms and procedures must be used to make payments to the IRS. To avoid delays, taxpayers must use existing electronic payment options,” the agency said.

To make payments to the IRS, individuals can use the IRS direct salary to pay directly from their bank account without charge. Set up an electronic federal tax payment system for payment of personal or business taxes. Explore debit/credit card payment options using IRS2GoApp. Or use a digital wallet.

Is there a government closure? Trump to meet party leader

0

In a talk show appearance ahead of his sit-in with Trump, both sides continued to dig into their heels to hash the looming government closure.

play

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump and top Congress leaders are sitting in the White House on Monday, September 29th for a high stakes meeting, hoping to avoid a swift invasion government shutdown.

The countdown continues at the late night deadline of October 1st. Without a deal, Trump’s administration will be tasked with maintaining “essential” government services, such as military enforcement and law enforcement, but “non-essential” functions, such as national parks, will shut down or reduce staffing.

As the clock is ticking through, the political responsibility game has already begun. Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson appeared on CNN’s “The State of the Coalition” and Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Future,” accusing Democrats of appealing for efforts to pass fundraising bills on partisan “laundry lists.” Regarding NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Chuck Schumer, the Democratic minority leader, said avoiding the closure would be “dependent on Republicans.”

The pair’s comments were based on dialogue with Trump, Senate majority leader John Tune and Democrat minority leader Hakem Jeffries. The president suddenly cancelled a meeting that had previously been set for September 25th with two Democratic leaders. Since then, both sides have been digging their heels publicly.

Congress and its leadership will be within 48 hours prior to the deadline to avoid government shutdown. This will begin at 12:01am on October 1st, if there is no last-minute breakthrough.

The Democratic Center’s main obsession point on healthcare funding: They are calling for an inversion of Medicaid funding cuts made by Trump’s recent tax bill, as well as an extension of the Obamacare Premium Subsidy, which was set to expire at the end of the year.

That extension must be permanent, Jeffries told reporters at Capitol Hill hours before meeting with Trump. Also, the law requires “iron to be covered” – not verbal commitment – he said.

“These people have been trying to abolish and drive people away from the Affordable Care Act since 2010,” he said of the Republican Party. “On behalf of the American people, we are simply taking their words that they are willing to negotiate. Americans know that it’s rational to us.”

Schumer, the counterpart of Senator Jeffreys, shows that the White House Conference is unlikely to win a massive deal, calling it the first step.

“You know, meetings are the first step, but only the first step,” Schumer said in “Meet the Press.” “We need serious negotiations. If the president of this conference is now in anger, screaming at the Democrats, talking about all his complaints, saying this and saying that we won’t get anything else, then my hope is that it will be serious negotiations.”

Republicans in the House of Representatives passed a small short-term funding bill on September 19 to fund the government until November 21, but the bill was short in the Senate, where 60 votes are needed to avoid a filibuster.

“Chuck Schumer has returned with a long laundry list of requests that don’t fit this process,” Johnson told CNN. “He’s going to try to shut down the government.”

House lawmakers are not planning to return to get the vote until after the government may be shut down. In the meantime, Schumer and Tune hope that the senators will reconsider their fundraising measures.

NEW YORK – Bruce Springsteen didn’t write words at the premiere of his new biopic.

The candid rock icon was on hand on Sunday, September 28th for the announcement of “Springsteen: Delivery Me Me New My No May.” Springsteen, 76, took to the stage with the film’s cast and crew at the end of the screening, stunning the crowd with a solo acoustic performance of the emotional ballad “Land of Hope and Dreams.”

“Recently, we have a daily event that reminds us of the fact that we live through these particularly dangerous times,” Springsteen introduced the song. “I spent my life on the road. I’m moving around the world as an American music ambassador, trying to measure the distance between American reality and our ideals and American reality that didn’t meet American dreams.”

But “for now, for many, she remains a land of hope and dreams,” he added. “It’s not fear, schizophrenia, government censorship or hatred. America is worth fighting for, so it’s in that spirit.

The film’s New York premiere (October 24th theatre) comes two weeks after the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Jimmy Kimmel’s controversial remarks about Kirk’s murder have prompted ABC to temporarily suspend late-night television shows.

Springsteen told the audience to “stay strong” as he left the stage. The entire uplifting Alistair Hall at Lincoln Center.

Before the performance, Springsteen said, “I was grateful to White for putting my whole heart and soul into that part. You did an amazing job.

The musician also shared his gratitude to Jeremy Strong. Jeremy Strong portrays his attentive manager, John Landau, and his on-screen parents.

“Because Stephen Graham is the living embodiment of his late father, who was a very difficult life but a heartfelt man,” Springsteen said. “Gabby Hoffman, for the great portrayal of my mother. They’re all gone, so it’s nice to have this film.”

Before Springsteen shot the microphone, writer/director Scott Cooper shared a story about how he lost his family in the Pallisard Fire in California earlier this year.

Cooper’s wife and children recalls “Bruce told me, ‘Scott, leave the hotel, take me to my house,” Cooper recalls. “We did that and we stayed there until we got up, because that’s Bruce Springsteen.

10 old school cars that gave birth to the lowrider culture

0

One of the most beautiful things about lowrider culture is that it allows for the ultimate expression of personality across the car canvas. There are no restrictions on whether you slam a car or truck into the ground, dance with an airbag, or jump into three-wheel movement with hydraulics, but there are definitely models that will help modern lowrider cultures.

Here are 10 old school cars that have had a major impact on the low rider scene.

Chevrolet Impala

It is impossible to discuss the history of lowriders without underscoring the importance of the Chevrolet Impala. Many early lowriders wore Chevrolet badges because they had bumpers that were affordable for cars to buy and not drag when they fell as low as possible to the ground (especially compared to the Fords of the era).

Since the arrival of the second-generation cars in the late 1950s, the Impala has been popular as a low rider, with the dramatic tail fins on the 1959 model giving it a distinctive look. However, it is a 1961-1964 edition, and is burned into public consciousness as a prototype low rider. This was due to both the possession of the axle in the original Chicano culture that produced the phenomenon and another culture in the hip-hop world that adopted the ’64 Impala as its icon. Impala continued to be prominently featured among lowrider fans until the mid-1980s when the body version of the car was removed from production.

Mercury Eight

The Impala are just as important as they are in low-rider cultures, so getting low-submarine treatment was far from the first car. Mercury Eight, especially the 1949-1951 model, was a staple of early hot rod cultures in the form of “lead sled” and, in addition to featuring a carved roof, was often given a significant suspension drop.

It, coupled with the enormous exposure that James Dean’s film Rebel has given to the no-cause model, leads to serious cross-pollination with lowrider fans, continuing to be one of the most prominent cars since World War II on modern lowrides.

Chevrolet Advanced Design/C10 Pickup

Remember when you said that Chevrolet was overrepresented among lowrider fans? This wasn’t just limited to cars. The Chevrolet pickups that have become the staple food of the scene have at least two generations of Chevrolet pickups.

Moving into the middle of the next decade from the late 1940s, the Chevrolet “Advance Design” track (as it was known at the time) was a strong choice for lowrider builders. Easy to work with and inexpensive, these trucks provided plenty of space for hydraulic suspension setups and cargo beds for air compressors after their technology replaced static suspension setups.

Almost 20 years later, another Chevrolet pickup model, the 1973-1986 “Square Body” C10), has also become a lowrider favorite for many of the same reasons. Given the extremely long production run and the support of the huge aftermarket, the C10 continues to hold a strong show as a low rider platform to this day.

Lincoln Continental

The Lincoln Continental from 1961 to 1969 represents the high water mark of American automotive design, with its slabside and rear hingdoors resonating in the industry decades after leaving production. It also made the impression of being extra large in the lowrider community. There, its imposing proportions made it a general choice after lengthening the original glory year.

Much of its many glory strengthened the reputation of the Continental Coupe Mark series, which followed the sedan in the 1970s. With its hidden headlights and an acre hood, these giant cars were perfect for hopping and dropping.

Chevrolet Monte Carlo

In 1973, General Motors introduced the Coronade, a large, medium-sized group of models that sit near the top of the lineups of the Buick, Chevrolet, Pontiac and Oldsmobile families. Of these, Chevrolet Monte Carlo developed the Cult Follow. This eventually expanded into the lowrider community.

That love continued in the 1980s when Monte Carlo was reduced to a G-Body platform, but as you can see, the G-Body had its own hero that surpassed Chevrolet over time.

Buick Regal/Oldsmobile Cutlass

When the G-Body arrived, General Motors pulled a typical “spray and please” strategy, with almost all of its brands giving a crack in building coupes in frame-on designs. These rear-wheel-drive two-door gobs and gobs were produced, many of which feature V-8 power, and their ubiquitity and style have become a major target for lowrider builders.

In particular, the two models survived time testing as hot low rider platforms for Buick Regal and Oldsmobile Cutlass.

It becomes a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy, as the mechanical and aesthetic knowledge base for these car changes is huge and even more appealing to those who want to engage in the low-rider world. With a low-cost admission fee, it’s easy to see why the imposing cutlass and cutlass are towering figures of lowrider culture.

Chevrolet S-10 pickup

Ever since the first mini trucks arrived on the scene in the 1970s, they have attracted enthusiasts trying to express themselves with custom vehicles. The Chevrolet S-10 pickup, which has been growing ever since 1982 and the 1990s, quickly became a popular choice among lowrider fans interested in the mini-track scene. In some respects, it was even more rough than the world of full-sized, slapped pickups that pre-processed with that boxed attitude.

The S-10 follows a pattern that has always been familiar to this list of popular lowrider options. It’s cheap to buy, easy to work with, and plenty of room to add trick suspension gear. It also does not hurt that these vehicles were built by millions of people.

Cadillac Eldorado

The 1980s brought more premium fares to those who wanted to push low riders of their class down to the block. Cadillac fell into difficult times in the 70s, with its fame being pushed to its side by anemia, smog choke engines and high-tech European imports. However, the 1979-1985 El Dorado still had a cache among lowrider enthusiasts who praised the possibility of being offered by the large coupe square line and its full frame design.

Ten years later, as El Dorado prices fell sharply in the second-hand market, these cars went into the hands of those looking for upgrades on the G-body. The collectors market has yet to keep up with ELDOs in the 80s, so builders can change most of their money instead of the purchase price.

Cadillac Fleetwood

Let’s say you had more friends than you could fit inside a two-door coupe, but you still wanted a Cadillac coat of arms on the front of the Lowrider. Enter Brougham Sedan. This is a car that unleashed the brand’s rear-wheel drive tradition when most of the other fleets moved to the front wheel movement.

This is a boon for lowrider fans, making it much easier to change. It is also an impressive machine with its upright grille and thick styling, making it an ideal choice for over-the-top representation of frame scraping designs. When they arrived in 1987, Broum was gone by 1992, but lived spiritually in a Fleetwood sedan.

Chevrolet Caprice/Impalas SS

It’s just as important as the original Impala low rider. It remains an engraved on lowrider culture, rather than the two generations of Chevrolet’s full-size sedan (and more rarely, coupes).

The first is the “box,” the name given to the squared-off Caprices that were sold from 1977 to 1990. Also offered with the Impala badge (with very few differences between the two models), these cars became the template for ’80s lowriders alongside their smaller G-body siblings thanks to similar attributes (body-on-frame, rear-wheel drive, V-8 power) and the huge number that were built for both taxi and police fleet.

In 1991, the box gave way to the “bubble.” This is a more rounded generation of Caprice that continues until 1996. It featured a more modern drivetrain and a rather comfortable cabin, but the design details resemble the box under the new body surprisingly. This allowed us to transfer previous knowledge about changing Chevrolets with minimal hassle and continue to remain popular in the lowrider culture.

This also applies to the high performance Impala SS available from 1994 to 1996.

Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl Show, His Political View

  • Reggaeton Star Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February 2026.
  • The artist approved Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
  • Bud Bunny skipped the US on his upcoming tour, citing concerns about his massive deportation on the show and the presence of potential ice.

The Reggaeton Superstar Bad Bunny is the halftime show headliner at the Super Bowl in California in February 2026.

Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio (31) beat Taylor Swift, the world’s most streamed artist on Spotify in 2022, who came in second place. He placed Puerto Rican heritage at the heart of his sixth studio album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” which spent several weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart earlier this year.

“What I feel is beyond myself,” Bud Bunny said in a statement shared by the NFL. “This is for my people, my culture and our history.”

Bad Bunny has also not moved away from politics in the past. Here’s what we know about his stance:

Are bad bunnies Trump supporters? His political views

Bud Bunny supported former vice president Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

Bad Bunny’s Puerto Rican pride is a big part of his work. President Donald Trump’s first presidency came out when Hurricane Maria destroyed US territory and the president threw rolls of paper towels at the crowd when he visited after the devastation.

Bad Bunny’s support for Trump’s Democratic opponents came shortly after Trump’s Madison Square Garden Rally came to make a light-paper comment about the island.

“A lot is happening. I don’t know if you know this or not, but right now, in the middle of the ocean there’s a literal garbage island over the water,” said Tony Hinchcliffe, whose stage name is Kill Tony. “I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”

In support of Harris, Bad Bunny shared a video to her 45 million Instagram followers pledging to boost Puerto Rico’s economy.

“I will never forget what Donald Trump did and what he didn’t do when Puerto Rico needed a compassionate and capable leader,” Harris said in the video. “He abandoned the island and tried to block aid after a series of devastating hurricanes, nothing more than paper towels and shaming.”

He spoke about the incident in a pop cast interview with the New York Times in January, explaining that some people may not have understood Hinchliff as making a joke because of the context of the political rally.

In 2020, Bad Bunny allowed Biden to use his songs in television ads, CNN reported. In 2023 he received the Vanguard Award for Glaad, using his popularity to support the outspoken alliance of the LGBTQ community and transgender rights.

Due to immigration policy, bad bunny skipped us on a world tour

Bad Bunny relayed his sixth chart-topping studio album, “I had to throw more photos” earlier this year.

In the music video for one song on the album “Nuevayol,” he seemed to be dealing directly with Trump’s anti-immigration policy. After showing the Puerto Rican flag hanging on the Statue of Liberty’s forehead, the voice that sounds like a play from Trump’s radio sounds like this:

“I made a mistake. I want to apologise to the American immigrants,” the voice says. “I want to say there’s nothing without immigration. This country is nothing without Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans…”

On the radio, one of the people cuts it off when they all leave.

Bad Bunny served as a residency in Puerto Rico from July 11th to September 14th, but surprised fans when his next world tour schedule didn’t include an American appearance. In an interview published on September 10, he said immigration and forced customs crackdown were part of the reason he chose not to bring his tour here.

“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, but none of them left the hatred,” he told ID Magazine. “Specifically, because of our residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are the unintegrated territory of the United States, people in the United States could come here to see the show. They could also travel to Latinos and any part of America.”

“But (my concert) had problems like ice (expective) ice. That’s something we were talking about and was very worried.”

What did Trump say about Bad Bunny performing in the Super Bowl LX?

The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the announcement.

Trump was able to see the performance firsthand. In February 2025, he became the first president to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans. He regularly appeared in high-profile sporting events during this presidency.

The Trump administration has implemented a variety of anti-immigration tactics, including trying to limit birthright citizenship, strengthen ice arrests and promote removal. Some of his actions face legal challenges.

nfl pushed diverse world views America America retreat from bad bunny

play

  • Bad Bunny is known for celebrating his Puerto Rican heritage.
  • The selection of the league is seen as a strategic move to expand its international presence and fan base.
  • While this decision may be controversial, the NFL focuses on long-term growth and economic opportunities.

By choosing Bad Bunny for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, you need to understand what the NFL has done. In other words, Really Understand.

The music artist recently completed what is described as a 31-day concert residency in Coriseo, Puerto Rico. Here’s how the event was explained by USA Today: “…31 shows in total – serving as a rest for fans during a time when social media feeds are overwhelmed by headlines about the massive deportation of Latinos in the US, reflecting President Donald Trump’s constant fear amid ongoing immigration crackdown.”

“The Bad Bunny show felt like a space for fans and Puerto Ricans to sing, dance, relax and bathe in their cultural pride.”

The NFL knows that Bad Bunny’s emphasis on Puerto Rican pride is likely to confuse people who like football, but don’t like the message of diversity. In fact, they may be dislike The message of diversity. The league knew this and didn’t bother.

When making the Super Bowl announcement, Bad Bunny wore a Pava, a traditional Puerto Rican hat. “What I feel is beyond myself,” he said in a statement shared by the NFL. “This is for my people, my culture and our history.”

“Bad Bunny represents the global energy and cultural vibrancy that defines today’s music scene. As one of the world’s most influential streaming artists, his unique ability to bridge genres, languages and audiences makes him an exciting and natural choice to win the Super Bowl halftime stage.

“I know that his dynamic performances, creative vision and deep connections with his fans provide an unforgettable experience that you’ll expect from this iconic cultural moment.”

Global energy. Cultural vibrancy. Bridging language. A cultural moment.

This is the opposite energy of what we see in this country now: ice attacks and harsh immigration policies. The New York Times reported that more immigrants will leave the United States than they will come here for the first time in decades.

I’ve covered this league for 30 years and still have the ability to shock. Usually, that shock is not a good thing. In this example, that’s true.

What exactly does the NFL do? The league has played a long game.

When Trump is not there and the NFL continues to try and become a truly international sport, it is banking the world. The NFL truly believes that American football can dominate globally. Who knows if that happens, but that’s what the league believes it can. Commissioner Roger Goodell recently said that there is one team, as the NFL’s goal is to host 16 international games in a season.

For the NFL, Bad Bunny is an investment in its international future.

To be clear, the NFL does not do this because of altruism. LOL. Furthermore, the NFL has not made this move. Because the league has a sincere belief that we all should live in a diverse world. LOL. The league’s main belief is diverse bank accounts. This is all about money and power.

It’s all true, and you know who cares about the league’s motivations, at least in this case? The NFL knows it will catch major hell from strong people against bad bunnies, and the league still made this decision. Suitable for the NFL.

So yes, you need to understand what the NFL did by choosing Bad Bunny as your Super Bowl halftime show. In other words, Really Understand.

The league uses its enormous power to drive a more diverse universe.

In other words, the NFL did the right thing at once.

Which small SUV is a better buy?

According to the 2025 bestselling car Kelly Blue Booklist published in July, more consumers have opted for the RAV4 over the CR-V. Side by side, the two SUVs look identical based on specs and ratings, but there are several reasons why consumers use CR-Vs to choose the RAV4 each year.

One of the main reasons why American drivers choose small Toyota SUVs is their reliability and resale value. A member survey of the Consumer Report found that Toyota is a slightly more reliable car brand than Honda.

Toyota has a reputation for producing the longest-lasting SUVs in the industry, including the Toyota Sequoia and the Toyota Highlander. The RAV4 is a little cheaper than the CR-V, along with the history of Toyota, which produces reliable vehicles, to choose the bestselling model over Honda’s rivals.
