“Shorties” are furious.

Some Bad Bunny fans wish he was taller because of the height requirements to appear in the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

Screenshots of the Field Team application, which requires participants to be between 5’7″ and 6’0, have been circulating on social media in recent days, particularly on TikTok.

Content creator Dre Monteon, one of many fans surprised by the height restriction, told viewers on TikTok on Jan. 8 that she “really thought” she was joking when she was told about her husband’s plans to volunteer for the halftime show.

“I mean, realistically, I probably couldn’t have done that, but still. 5-foot-7 and stuff like that is crazy,” Monteon said.

Bad Bunny fans disappointed by height restrictions

Monteon, like other fans, shared their reactions to the news, with some lamenting their “shortcomings” while others called it a victory for tall people. One fan shared a 21-second clip of himself preparing his application in real time, while another detailed the entire application process, which has already been completed.

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl field cast must be this tall.

Social media has influenced height restrictions for Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show and field cast, requiring field cast participants to be between 5’7” and 6’0”.

Backlight Support, which filed the application on behalf of Super Bowl Productions, told USA TODAY in a Jan. 12 statement that “height requirements are very important to participate in this production and will be verified through the rehearsal process.”

“This is a paid, temporary position with an important mission. You will be part of a core team responsible for on-field assembly and halftime show stage disassembly,” a description posted on the Super Bowl Productions website reads.

Did Bad Bunny ever perform at the Super Bowl?

yes. Bad Bunny and J. Balvin were surprise guests at the Super Bowl LIV halftime show on February 2, 2020, which was co-headlined by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.

Bad Bunny and J. Balvin performed Spanish verses of Cardi B’s “I Like It” and “Mi Gente,” respectively.

The women concluded their performance with dancing and hugging, capping off one of the best, most empowering and genuinely fun Super Bowl halftimes of the past decade, USA Today previously reported.
