Marie Osmond has opened up about her last moments with her brother Alan Osmond, who passed away on Monday, April 20th at the age of 76.

The singer shared his brother’s last words and revealed that Alan Osmond was looking forward to reuniting with his late brother Wayne Osmond on New Year’s Day 2025.

“The last thing he said to me was, ‘I can’t wait to meet Brother Wayne so we can become missionaries together and begin preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have never had the chance to hear his message of peace and hope in this world,'” the “Paper Roses” singer wrote in a tribute on Instagram the day after his death. “That’s my brother Alan!! I love you so much and will miss you so much.”

Marie Osmond, 66, posted photos from Alan’s life and attempted to encapsulate “years of memories” with her “protective” brother. She recalled the “immense responsibility” Alan was given as leader of the family band when he was 12 years old, his faith and flying the original band, made up of brothers Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay Osmond, to Hawaii for their final performance in 2018.

Marie Osmond added that she felt the excitement of her mother, Olive Osmond, who died in 2004, when she was reunited with Alan. “What a joyful reunion and rebirth took place on the other side,” she wrote. “I know he’s happy.”

Alan Osmond died surrounded by his wife Suzanne and eight sons, a family spokesperson said in a statement to KSL, KUTV and ABC4.

Alan was the oldest member of the Osmond family of entertainers, but brothers George Vaal and Tom Osmond are the oldest siblings overall. The Osmonds began as a four-piece barbershop group in the late 1950s. Brothers Donnie and Jimmy joined the group in the 1970s. Marie Osmond never officially joined the group, instead finding success with her own solo career. She co-hosted the variety show Donnie & Marie with her brother in the late 70s.
