Bindi Irwin ‘much better’, Terry and Robert Irwin share health update
Terry and Robert Irwin have given an update on Bindi Irwin’s health as she continues to manage endometriosis.
From scary snakes to big cats, there wasn’t much that made the late Steve Irwin nervous, but when it came to “naughty parrots,” the wildlife expert got a little nervous, his wife said.
“In case you didn’t know, the only animal that made Steve a little nervous was a naughty parrot!” Irwin’s wife, Teri Irwin, posted on Instagram on May 30, along with a photo of her late husband and a red parrot. “Every parrot immediately tried to bite Steve before he could react!”
Irwin, widely known as the “crocodile hunter” for his ability to capture and bring problem crocodiles to safety, died on September 4, 2006, after being hit in the heart by a stingray while filming the underwater film “Ocean’s Deadliest” in Australia. He was 44 years old. The famous conversationalist leaves behind his wife, Terri Irwin, and two children, Robert Irwin, winner of Dancing with the Stars Season 34, and Bindi Irwin, also a Dancing with the Stars winner.
Terry remembers Steve on couple’s 34th wedding anniversary
Terry also celebrated her marriage to Irwin and their move to Australia in an Instagram post on June 2nd.
“34 years ago, an adventure began…I married Steve, moved to Australia, two beautiful children, and a life dedicated to wildlife conservation,” Terry wrote in the post. “My heart is full. I am truly blessed.”
According to Irwin’s Australia Zoo website, Terry Raines, then a visiting tourist, met Irwin just two days after taking over management of the Queensland Reptile and Zoological Park in October 1991. The couple married on June 4, 1992 in Eugene, Oregon.
Irwins Australia Zoo
The park later became the Australia Zoo, and its website says the couple’s “mission was to make it one of the best in Australia, if not the world.”
“Massive efforts have been made to create habitats for all zoo animals to be exhibited in their natural environment,” the report added.
Although Irwin passed away before his vision was realized, Terry and the couple’s two children are committed to ensuring Irwin’s legacy lives on. Australia Zoo now spans over 700 acres and employs more than 500 staff, continuing Irwin’s mission of ‘conservation through exciting education’.
