BBC apologizes to President Trump over documentary editing issues
The BBC has apologized to President Donald Trump for misleading edits to its news documentary “Panorama.”
Five years ago, as members of Congress met to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election, thousands of Americans violently stormed the Capitol in an attempt to stop the election process.
For some, the Capitol riot feels like it happened yesterday, but in reality, six months have passed since that day in our nation’s capital.
In the years that followed, President Donald Trump defended many of the rioters, calling them “hostages” and “political prisoners.” Upon returning to office, Trump approved pardons for approximately 1,600 people charged in the riot.
“These people were destroyed. What they did to these people is outrageous,” President Trump said in January 2024.
Although many years have passed, the photos of the uprising and its aftermath remain as impressive as they were that day.
