ABC announces Jimmy Kimmel Return in Call of Free Speech
Both citizens and comedians are calling for free speech as Jimmy Kimmel is set to return to ABC after he is suspended.
Back from the controversial halt of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” within an hour, President Donald Trump appears to have threatened to sue ABC over his decision to revive the late-night television host.
On September 17, ABC shockedly revealed that Jimmy Kimmel’s show would be “preempted” indefinitely following rage from Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Kerr. However, the Walt Disney Company announced that Kimmel’s show will air on Tuesday, September 23rd, after “thoughtful conversation.”
Prior to Kimmel’s highly anticipated monologue, the president approached the ABC decision and worked on a true society to share his applause in filing a lawsuit against the network.
“I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job,” Trump wrote. “The White House was told by ABC that his show had been cancelled! Something happened between that time and now, his audience was gone and his ‘talent’ wasn’t there. ”
USA Today has contacted ABC about Trump’s cancellation assumption.
“Why do they want people who are so poor, not funny and putting their network at risk by playing 99% positive Democrat trash?” Trump continued.
Kimmel’s suspension said, “This can be done in an easy way or the hard way,” after FCC chairman Car appears to have threatened ABC, Disney and Kimmel on a YouTube episode of commentator Benny Johnson’s show on September 17th.
Nexstar Media Group Inc. confirmed that the show will be suspended from airing on September 17th at 32 ABC affiliates, and said Sinclair Broadcast Group will replace Kimmel’s Friday time slot with a special memory honoring ABC affiliate Kirk (later retreated on Monday, September 22nd).
Trump also said Kimmel was called the “another arm” of the Democratic National Committee and that, to the best of his knowledge, ABC, which airs the show, would be considered “a major illegal campaign contribution.”

Trump also referred to the March 2024 lawsuit against ABC News, where host George Stephanopoulos asked about a question about E. Jean Carroll, where ju-searchers found the president was liable for sexual abuse and defamation. In December, ABC News agreed to a $15 million settlement, according to Reuters.
“I think we’re going to test ABC on this, let’s see how we do it,” Trump threatened on Tuesday, September 23rd.

Even after Monday’s Disney statement, Sinclair was still not tired of their stance on Kimmel.
“From Tuesday night, Sinclair will be ahead of Jimmy Kimmel Live! It will replace news programming across the ABC affiliate station,” the company said in a statement to USA Today. “A discussion with ABC is ongoing in assessing the show’s potential returns.” Sinclair is the largest owner of 38 ABC stations nationwide.
