Shakeshack is expanding to three new cities this year, similar to US casinos, Burger Joint announced this week.
Shake Shack’s Chief Development Director Andrew McCaughan confirmed the openings on July 2nd in New York, Florida and Oklahoma.
“This year, we are excited to bring Shake Shack to new cities like Buffalo, Naples and Oklahoma City, expand our footprint in many major growing markets, open more drive slosh and launch the first company-operated shed with cocktail bars in Atlanta,” writes McCorgan.
According to McCaughan, Shake Shack will be opening a location in South Carolina for the first time. There is no word yet as to which city this will become.

Where has Shake Shack opened a new restaurant so far?
As of July, Shake Shack had opened 34 new locations this year, McCaughan said, adding that 18 of them are run by the company.
The new locations include drive-thru, suburban sites, airport locations and global restaurants, he said.
So far, Shake Shack has opened the following restaurants:
- Naperville, sick.
- Oxnard, California
- Brick, New Jersey
- Goodyear, Alis.
- New York State Avenue
- Foothill Village, Utah
- Clifton, Ohio
- Ridge Hill, New York
Globally, Shake Shack has opened locations in Busan, South Korea, Metepec, Mexico, and Cambridge, UK.
What are Shake Shack’s future location plans?
Shake Shack’s goal is to have 1,500 company operating locations across the United States, says McCaughan.
“Most of our expansion this year is focusing on non-pervasive suburban markets, a place where we can build our community and see real opportunities to meet our guests in the rhythm of everyday life,” he said. “People in these communities deserve delicious, flavorful and enjoyable food options.”
The opening, he said, is part of the company’s plan to open 80-85 new restaurants around the world this year.
Similar to Panama in 2026, the location is planned in Tucson, Arizona, the capital region of New York.
When asked about 2026 and later, McCaughan said Shake Shack has a new licensing partnership with Penn Entertainment, which operates casinos, racetracks, hotels and resorts in North America.
Shake Shack will open Shake Shacks at 10 of the company’s casino properties, which will first open in 2026.
The location of Hollywood Casinos in Toledo, St. Louis, Missouri, River City Casino Hotel, Toledo, Ohio, is a location in Missouri.
