Jake Paul won the dominant unanimous decision over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the Honda Center in Anaheim, improving his professional record to 12-1.
Former Mexican champion boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was announced Thursday by the Department of Homeland Security.
According to DHS, Chavez, 39, is being processed for rapid removal from the US. Chavez said he has an aggressive arrest warrant in Mexico for organised crime and involvement in human trafficking firearms, ammunition and explosives.
Chavez, the son of legendary Mexican fighter Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., fought Jake Paul at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on Saturday. He lost a 10-round boxing match due to unanimous decision.
In August 2023, he legally entered the country on a B2 tourist visa that was valid until February 2024.
In January 2024, Chavez was arrested in Los Angeles on felony possession of a gun after police said he was in possession of two AR-style ghost rifles, according to ESPN and the Los Angeles Times.
He pleaded not guilty to gun possession charges and agreed to participate in a residential treatment program, according to these reports. Court records show that Chavez was granted pretrial diversion.
DHS said on the release of the press that former President Joe Biden’s administration allowed Chavez to re-enter the country in January and parole him to the country at San Isidro port in California.
