The Dodgers legend makes it the hard way

Los Angeles – Pain.

It’s unbearable.

It’s winding.

Sometimes it was tough watching the Los Angeles Dodgers starter Clayton car show on the mound before a magical moment.

Kershaw became the 20th pitcher to attack 3,000 batters, and he did it against the low Chicago White Sox, that is, the hard way.

Carshaw, who took part in a game where only three strikeouts were required to reach the milestone, worked throughout six innings. On his 100th pitch, he scored a strikeout No. 3,000.

The 37-year-old Kershaw cried out by the home crowd after the Dodgers chased the Chicago White Sox 4-2 and earned credit. He was on the hook for loss until the Dodgers gathered on three runs at the ninth bottom.

“To be honest, it wasn’t that great pitching tonight,” Kershaw said after the game. “The sliders were really bad, but this was a special night all along. It was really. I wouldn’t have asked for anything more. It was a lot of fun being there.”

Kershaw is not the perfect pitcher given his share of the postseason struggle. But Dodgers manager Dave Roberts fell into the spot when he called Kershaw a “unicorn” before the game.

The Dodgers’ clubhouse is also occupied by the ultimate baseball unicorn, Shohei Ohtani. He is the ultimate two-way superstar, recently throwing a fastball of 102 mph and has already won three MVP awards with 30.

However, the Car Show did something Otani couldn’t match.

In fact, players may not be able to go before.

It starts with loyalty.

Tommy Lasolda, the late Dodgers manager, claimed that Dodger Blue had bleed. There is no need to check the veins of the car show. Obviously, he’s Blue Blood.

He spent an entire 18-year career with the Dodgers and further highlighted how unusual it was by joining an exclusive club with pitchers with 3,000 strikeouts.

Of the 20 pitchers from the 3,000 club, only Walter Johnson and Bob Gibson got there while playing for only one club. Johnson with Senators of Washington, St. Louis Cardinals and Gibson.

“The Dodgers are selected in the first round of the 2006 MLB Draft,” said Kershaw: As I get older, I think I’m a little more grateful for one organization.

“And the Dodgers are stuck with me, too. It wasn’t all roses, so I know that. And now I’m so grateful to look back on saying I’ve spent my entire career here… I’m even more grateful for that now.”

Calshaw’s contributions on the field to the Dodgers made him an unusual company. He has appeared in 10 All-Star appearances. 3 Cy Young Awards. Two World Series rings.

Entering Wednesday, he had a career record of 216-94 and an ERA of 2.51.

Roberts said Kershaw would also influence the Dodgers staff to younger pitchers.

“A lot of people grab him and grab him by the ear,” Roberts said. “But most of the time I think it’s just how he’s going about it. He’s always talking about the game. He’s watching the game. More importantly, he’s very consistent.

“I was looking at it yesterday with a pen and he was doing dry work (practicing skills without using a ball), which is what he did for 18 years the day before his start.”

Roberts said when Kershaw decided to return to the Dodgers in 2025, Kershaw had 3,000 milestones in mind.

He recovered, the Car Show didn’t make its first start until May 17th. He entered historic game 4-0 with the 3.03 ERA, earning 29 strikeouts in 38 innings this season.

It’s more than the many people expected from more fragile veterans, and Roberts said, “It reminds me that no one will ever bet on that guy.”
