NFL legend Jerry Rice wasn’t happy about being heckled after hitting a golf shot during the recent American Century Championship.
Rice was hitting a ball off a tee at an undesignated hole on the course at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada, when the incident occurred. He hit the ball with a jerky swing, and immediately after making contact, the audience shouted, “Four!” It shows that Rice hit a bad shot.
The former San Francisco 49ers receiver immediately turned to the crowd and quietly yelled, “Hey!” Then he asked, “Which one? Which one?” as he tried to catch up to the heckler.
In the end, Rice seemed to have caught up with the group of hecklers. It’s not clear what he said to the fan in question, as the video of the incident was shot from a distance.
After a brief faceoff, Rice returned to the tee box with a smile on his face. Fans nearby cheered him on and he continued his round.
Rice finished 42nd in the 90-player celebrity golf tournament, which included many former NFL players. Among them were Marcus Allen, Jerome Bettis, Drew Brees, Derek Carr, Larry Fitzgerald, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Dwight Freeney, AJ Hawk, Jason Kelce, Jim McMahon, Patrick Peterson, Tony Romo, Joe Theisman, Adam Thielen, Brian Urlacher, DeMarcus Ware, Andrew Whitworth and Steve Young.
Several current NFL players also participated in the American Century Championship. Davante Adams, Kyle Hamilton, Kyle Juschuk, Trevor Lawrence and Baker Mayfield were all on the field along with Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell and Tennessee Titans coach Robert Saleh.
