The tomatoes distributed among the three US are recalled due to concerns about possible salmonella contamination.
Williams Farms Repack LLC announced the recall on May 2, according to the Food and Drug Administration. The South Carolina Lodge-based agricultural wholesaler said the affected tomatoes were packaged and sold by wholesalers and distributors in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina from April 23-28.
According to the FDA, on April 29, Williams Farms Repack was informed by a southeast tomato distributor that tomatoes sourced from H&C Farm could be contaminated with salmonella.
Recalled tomatoes vary in size and can be either repackaged from Williams Farm or labeled from H&C Farm. No illnesses have been reported so far, the FDA said.

What are the effects of salmonella infection?
According to the FDA, salmonella is “a organism that can cause serious, sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, or other people with weak immune systems.
Healthy people infected with salmonella usually experience several symptoms, including fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, the federal agency said. In rare cases, salmonella can enter the bloodstream and cause more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.
