AT&T will raise monthly phone fees next month.
According to the AT&T Mobility Fee Schedule on the AT&T website, starting Aug. 5, the carrier will increase its monthly Administrative and Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee fees by $1.
The fees help AT&T recover costs such as interconnection fees with other providers and certain government fees, such as wireless tower mandate fees, state consumer privacy laws, public land acquisition fees, and federal privacy mandate fees, the website outlines.
USA TODAY reached out to AT&T on July 14 for comment on the rate increase.
