Nutella fans can now choose a new dessert option from the freezer aisle.

Wells Enterprises, the parent company of the popular hazelnut and cocoa spread, announced May 13 that Nutella ice cream is now available in the frozen section of grocery stores nationwide.

Ice cream comes in two formats.

  • 14 fl oz containers start at $4.36 (varies by retail chain)
  • 3 oz single serve cones available in 4-packs starting at $5.47 depending on retail channel

“Nutella has been a beloved part of people’s lives for more than 60 years, and bringing it to the freezer aisle is the groundbreaking moment fans have been waiting for,” Noah Sporn, senior vice president of Nutella at Ferrero North America, said in a news release. “We can’t wait for them to enjoy the iconic flavors they love in a whole new way.”

The company also announced a promotion coupled with the launch of a new ice cream. The promotion, called “Freezer Fridays,” is a limited-time giveaway through May where customers can win free Nutella ice cream just by tagging a friend on social media.

Nutella recently announced its first “new flavor innovation” in 60 years

In addition to ice cream, the brand last month introduced Nutella peanuts, the brand’s “first flavor innovation” in its history.

According to Ferrero Group, Nutella Peanuts “offers a new taste experience that blends the unmistakable creaminess of Nutella with the deliciousness of roasted peanuts.”

“Honestly, when you see a jar of Nutella floating in space and making headlines, you start to feel like anything is possible. So the natural next move as a brand was to launch our first new flavor innovation in over 60 years,” Noah Sporn, senior vice president of spreads at Ferrero North America, said in a statement.

“Our fans have been asking for this for years. We heard them, and afternoon snack time will never be the same,” Sporn added.

Nutella peanuts are available at major retailers nationwide, including Kroger and Walmart.
