WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is in her final weeks in office when an unexpected guest bids her farewell.

The progressive anti-war advocacy group Code Pink visited Rep. Greene’s office last month to say goodbye after she announced she would resign from the U.S. House of Representatives in January.

“We visited Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene today to thank her for being such a strong anti-war voice in Congress and to tell her we will miss her,” the group’s co-founder Medea Benjamin wrote in a Dec. 10 post on X.

Greene, an early and ardent supporter of President Donald Trump and his “Make America Great Again” agenda, is locked in an ongoing feud with the president and Republican leaders over the release of files on disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The Georgia Republican also broke with his party on another key issue: Israel’s war in Gaza.

Greene was the first Republican to call the humanitarian crisis in Gaza a “genocide.” She also criticized President Trump for bombing Iran in the summer amid a conflict with Israel.

“The truth and simplest thing to say is that October 7th in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide, humanitarian crisis and famine that is happening in Gaza,” Greene wrote for X on July 28.

In an interview with 60 Minutes this month, Greene boasted that she had not received any donations from the pro-Israel lobbying group American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). She also criticized President Trump for distancing himself from MAGA and “America First” policies.

Greene said the president has focused on appeasing “the establishment,” from serving “Israel’s interests and even attacking Iran” to serving “Big Pharma” in maintaining coronavirus vaccines.

“For an America First president, domestic policy should have been the No. 1 focus, and that hasn’t been the case,” Greene said in an interview. “Once we’ve settled everything here, that’s fine, let’s talk to the rest of the world.”
