First black man, female librarian in Congress attacks Day

WASHINGTON – Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche took over as a librarian for Congress after Carla Hayden’s shooting and wears another hat for the Trump administration.
Blanche was President Donald Trump’s criminal defense attorney before becoming the second-ranked official within the Department of Justice.
Now, Blanche is in her second job, following Trump’s May 8th Hayden Oster on her concerns focusing on diversity, equity and inclusive initiatives.
“She felt she didn’t suit the needs of Americans,” White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavit told reporters on May 9.
The Library of Congress has nearly 26 million cataloged books in 470 languages, approximately 78 million manuscripts, the largest collection of North America’s rare books, the largest collection of legal materials in the world, films, maps, sheet music and sound recordings.
The library also has the Congressional Research Service, a nonpartisan institution that provides legislators with background on legislative issues.
Several other TRUP administrators also play multiple roles.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is a representative national security advisor to the US International Development Agency and an archivist for the US. FBI Director Kash Patel served briefly as representative of the Bureau of Alcohol, cigarettes, firearms and explosives. The post is currently being held temporarily by Secretary of Army Daniel Driscoll.
