Giant Eagle lowers prices on 300 grocery items until September 9th

Giant Eagle isn’t planning on stopping its summer celebrations, despite its impending sale to Kroger.

The Western Pennsylvania-based grocery chain is launching a new “This Season Sale” promotion for the summer, slashing prices on more than 300 popular grocery items through Sept. 9, according to a July 9 company announcement.

This summer, shoppers can enjoy lower everyday prices on a variety of products including produce such as onions, bagged salads, fruits and vegetables. baked goods; fresh meat, seafood, and dairy products; Pantry staples like peanut butter, jelly, and cereal. Frozen meat and deli items. Drinks, snacks, and candy. paper products and other household items, as well as baby and pet supplies, according to the company’s website.

Justin Weinstein, Giant Eagle’s executive vice president and chief merchandising and marketing officer, said in a company statement that the promotion was renewed based on “strong customer response” to the original promotion last fall.

“We know our customers are looking for value in the face of increasing spending,” he said. “We learned from our seasonal pricing efforts last fall and used those insights to deliver a robust savings program that helps customers save all summer long.”

According to the company’s announcement, Giant Eagle launched the “Sales of the Season” project in September 2025, in line with its corporate strategy “Because It Matters.” The move “reaffirms Giant Eagle’s commitment to increasing value, improving quality and service, and improving the overall shopping experience every day, with a focus on prioritizing what truly matters to customers,” the company said in a statement.

According to Giant Eagle’s website, customers using the store’s online grocery pickup or delivery service can claim $10 off orders of $150 or more through July 22 by using the discount code STAYCOOL.
