Attorney General Pam Bondy said the Justice Department is suing a “terribly inadequate” sentence for the assassin of Supreme Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
A federal judge in Maryland sentenced Sophie Rosuke of Simi Valley, California, to prison in prison for flying to Kavanaugh’s home with a gun and other weapons. Federal prosecutors wanted “at least 30 years of life.”
“The attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Judge Brett Kavanaugh wrote Bondi in X’s post, suing a terrible and inadequate sentence imposed by a district court that did not reflect X’s horrifying facts.
Rosuke, who pleaded guilty in April, apologized in a five-page handwritten memo filed with a judge on September 19 for leaving Kavanaugh and his family throughout the case.
She says she was undergoing treatment and she realized that violence was not the solution.
Rosuke was angry that the decision to draft the Supreme Court overturned abortion rights had been leaked.
As part of his guilty plea, Rosuke admitted to flying firearms and ammunition in a checked suitcase from Los Angeles International Airport to Dulles International Airport on June 7, 2022.
Lowkey arrived at Kavanaugh’s house with a gun, ammunition, pepper spray, zip tie, hammer, screwdriver, duct tape and other items.
