Cassie Ventura reveals how much Diddy paid to settle the lawsuit

0

play

A few months after Sean “Diddy” Combs’ team first hinted at a “slightly eight-figure settlement” in Cathy Ventura Fine’s 2023 lawsuit against him, her testimony revealed how much Combs agreed to pay when she dismissed the legal action a day later.

Towards the end of the second day of testimony at Combs’ sex offence trial on May 14, Ventura Fine’s settlement amounted to a $20 million payment. The 38-year-old, pregnant with her third child, said the settlement was paid by Combs, 55, and his company.

The revelation delves into the 2018 breakup of her and Combs for several years, revealing that she was involved in writing a book about her experiences while she was dating.

She wanted the comb to read it, so he would understand what she went through in their decades of relationship, she told the court. There she reached out to the comb through her lawyer and asked her to read the draft and provide compensation.

Ventura Fine said she won the rights to her book and gave her a price tag of $30 million. However, after being told he had failed to respond, she sued him in November 2023, claiming that he had trafficked, sexually assaulted and physically abused.

The two have agreed by the next day, and announced that Ventura Fine will dismiss the lawsuit following an unspecified settlement.

“I have decided to settle this issue in a friendly manner on the condition that I have some control and I would like to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support,” Ventura Fine said in a November 17 statement shared by her lawyer, Douglas Wigdoll.

“We decided to resolve this issue in a friendly way. We hope that Cathy and her family will be the best,” Combs said in his own statement the same day. “love.”

What did Cathy say in her lawsuit?

On November 16, 2023, the Ventura fine was fined in a bombing lawsuit filed in federal court in New York, alleging that Combs had been trafficked, sexually assaulted and physically abused her.

Ventura Fine, well known by its stage name, is the hit maker behind the song “Me&U,” which dominated the early Billboard charts.

A 2016 hotel surveillance video shared by CNN in May 2024 shows Combs kicking, hitting and dragging Cassie. A few days later, Combs announced a video apology, saying he was “fully responsible for my actions in that video.”

The Combs team claimed to have launched a federal investigation into the actions of Bad Boy Records Founder, including home raids in Los Angeles and Miami in March 2024. Since the Ventura Fine case, Combs has faced the basis for a civil lawsuit. The comb deny allegations of fraud.

His team reiterates that “no matter how many cases are filed, Combs will not change the fact that no one, a man or woman, an adult or a minor, has ever sexually assaulted or trafficked sex.”

After months of federal investigation, Combs was arrested on September 16 on charges of assault, sex trafficking and transporting to engage in prostitution. He pleads not guilty to all charges.

Combs’ criminal trial in New York City is expected to last for an estimated eight weeks.

Under New Zealand’s strict nomenclature, no one is a “king” and “prince”

0

CNN

Some parents in New Zealand do not seem to receive messages. Again, King has tops the list of baby names rejected by the country’s registrar general.

The royal title led the list of banned baby names for 14 consecutive years until 2023, when Prince was replaced by the 2023.

Other imposing references, including Duke, Odor and Emperor, are also the country’s no go.

New Zealand registered 60,000 births last year and rejected 38 proposed names according to a letter from John Crawford Smith, the Home Office’s Chief Advisor.

Under the law, baby names must not include numbers or symbols for any unfairly long period of time. They must also refrain from resembling official titles, pursuant to the Birth, Death, Marriage and Relationship Registration Act 2021, and rank “without proper justification.”

New Zealand is a constitutional monarchy that is part of the British Commonwealth and calls King Charles III king. According to Crawford-Smith, I’m not sure if the 11 parents who applied to call the king of children meant it as an ode ode to Charles, but everything was asked to reconsider.

In 2024, more than 1,000 children in the United States were called Kings, according to the Social Security Agency. (Liam and Olivia were top names in the US last year).

Most of New Zealand’s rejected names had royal links. Prince’s ten applications were rejected, and the princess was followed by four. Names such as Kingi, Kingz, Prinz, Prynce, Royalllty were also prohibited. This is because department staff may also consider how their names sound when spoken when deciding whether to be approved or not.

Authorities will also consider community awareness of the proposed name. That may be why other names have been rejected, including both strains of cannabis, sativa and indica.

Fannie, once a popular name, was also rejected.

Before the registrar general makes a final decision, parents are given the opportunity to explain their rationale. “We continue to encourage parents to think carefully about their names,” Crawford Smith wrote in the letter. “The name is a gift,” he added.

New Zealand is not the only country that imposes laws regulating newborn names.

In 2015, a French judge in the northern part of the country refused to name two parents their child Nutella because of the risk of humiliation.

There is also a nomenclature in Sweden, with attempts to name the children “Superman”, “Metalica”, and “BRFXXCCXXMNPCCLLLLLLLMMNPRXVCLMNCKSSQLBBBB1116”.

In the US, several naming battles are concentrated on adults.

In 2008, the judge allowed an Illinois school bus driver to legally change his name to “in the gods” and change his last name to “We Trust.”

However, in the same year, the New Mexico Court of Appeals ruled against a man (the man named Variable) who wanted to change his name to “F-Censor!”

NFC East, Aaron Rogers, Chiefs

Annual announcements for the NFL schedule are probably the most manufactured of all “events” on the sports calendar. But that’s not to say it’s beneficial, provocative, and sometimes not controversial…even if it had transformed into something that would take most of three days to reveal the big picture that slowly creeps into.

However, the fact that schedule releases have actually become a landmark for the NFL offseason is a testament to the league’s incredible marketing and business insights and the leagues that are embracing and running and growing, as the leagues that Mike North, the league’s vice president of broadcasting, embrace and his team year by year.

What does that mean? Winners and losers, pretty naturally – and their wide range:

winner

NFC East

It’s back in a big way, baby. Dallas Cowboys of the Philadelphia Eagles – Longtime rivals roared during the season in the kickoff opener on Thursday night, September 4th, with Washington’s manager scheduled six primetime appearances, the second-most tied league-wide after Kansas City chief.

Buffalo Bills

Teams that made the playoffs in 2024 are not easy to schedule based on their opponents’ group win rate (.467) since last season. The perennial AFC East Champion will also enjoy three primetime home games during its final season at Highmark Stadium.

Colts’ Indiana Night uniform

It’s been two years since Indianapolis unveiled an alternative uniform. This uniform features a black helmet and a “Heathered” design. Unfortunately, the Colts have been relegated to wearing the “Indiana Night” kit at the 1pm kickoff as they weren’t involved enough to play in Primetime. But don’t be afraid, the Colts will host the San Francisco 49ers in week 16 “Monday Night Football.” I drink at the roof of Lucas Oil Stadium on an Indiana night.

Streaming Services

They continue to infiltrate what was purely the realm of network broadcasting. This year, Prime Video, YouTube, ESPN+, and Netflix all become mixed in shape, shape or shape in some way as they continue to expand their content delivery models.

Aaron Rogers?

He’ll be the QB1 for the Pittsburgh Steelers – Is that so? – After North stacked up the New York Jets with him, Marquee’s game won’t be strangely added to Marquee’s game, with Mulligan 2024 schedule that didn’t work for anyone. Not to mention being the home team designated for the league’s Irish debut, the four primetime games feel like a rather standard Steelers schedule, regardless of quarterback.

Cincinnati Bengals Travel Schedule

Centrally located Stripe is the only team in the league to travel under 10,000 miles in 2025. Will they definitely reinvest their savings and reward De Trey Hendrickson with more contracts than he has won?

NFL Social Media Team (almost)

The release of the schedule is equivalent to the Super Bowl for the social division of the league as it brews a mix of creativity, shade and expectations while rolling out the fall lineup for each team. Jordan Mendoza of USA Today Sports ranked the efforts this year, and the Los Angeles Chargers once again distinguished themselves. The Colts…regardless of the version, there were very few franchises embarrassing in the Super Bowl.

loser

Family of players in Dallas, Detroit and Kansas City

For the third year in a row, the Chiefs will play at Christmas, but will be at Arrowhead at least this season. But the twist in 2025 is that the real-life AFC champions will also play on Thanksgiving in Dallas. Speaking of cowboys (and lions), turkey day perennial home fixtures, both draw Christmas assignments in 2025. Do it on Labor Day, Y’all!

Charger Travel Schedule

Bolt is scheduled to record 37,000 miles of League High from Point A-LA to Point and Point, including a trip to Brazil in the first week.

10pm ET kickoff

The league was away from the late-night games that were often used to unfold in the first week of “MNF” doubleheaders. That second matchup often introduces Mississippi’s Eastern football stubborn while trying to post for work Tuesday morning. This year, ESPN’s Monday Night lineup will merely close out the opening weekend with the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. However, in the second and seventh week, there will be twin bills without overlapping games, Las Vegas and Seattle, and will win the out-of-hour spotlight at the 10pm start time. Keep Red Bull on hand to keep the coaster on the right.

Football fans with Chiefs fatigue

Are you tired of seeing Patrick Mahomes and the company, who have reached five of the last six Super Bowls and have had people pinning it on the “Patriot Way”? Welcome. Kansas City not only has seven primetime appearances leading the league, a factor in Thanksgiving, but also has eight exclusive broadcast windows.

New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans

Respect has been earned in the NFL and these teams… combined for Zero Limited Broadcast Slots in 2025.

College Football Playoffs

We plan to enter our second year in the expanded 12 team format. From a TV rating standpoint, what went wrong was claiming when college games went into pre-Bowl season hiatus several years ago while trying to break into in on Saturday’s time slots late in the season. Moving forward, the pros seem willing to acknowledge the viewer’s eyes, slotting out a rival game in the attractive division on the 16th Saturday (December 20th). Good luck with that, Pennsylvania. NCAA decision makers… The NFL has already made the NBA irrelevant from a Christmas showcase once owned by the association.

NBA

If it’s not official yet, they obviously lost their Christmas showcase. The NFL was loaded with this year’s Yuletide triple header and Mahomes, Jayden Daniels and Dallas. Lebron and Co. doesn’t even have a chance anymore.

Germany

Deleting decades from World War II, they have been regarded as American ally for the past 80 years. But are we continuing to send them Daniel Jones as NFL ambassador? Perhaps Volkswagen is still punished for its emissions scandal…

At least 31 suspicious rebels were killed in India’s “large operation” against the rebellion several decades ago.

0

CNN

Indian police have killed 31 Maoist rebels in what is called the “largest operation ever” against a long-term rebellion.

Security forces spent 21 days trying to capture rebels along the borders of central India’s Chhattisgarh and Telangana, Home Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday.

Describing the operation as a “historic breakthrough,” Shah said security forces had “the biggest operation ever” against rebels, killing 31 people on Kalleguttal Hill, which is considered a Maoist hub.

Since 1967, Indian authorities have fought against Maoist rebel groups also known as Naxals in several central and northern states. Inspired by Chinese revolutionary leader Mar Zedon, the rebels launched attacks on government forces for decades to overthrow the state.

“Our security forces completed this biggest anti-Naxal operation in just 21 days. We are extremely pleased that there was no single casualty in the security forces in this operation,” Shah congratulated X with “courage and courage.”

“So far, the operation has destroyed a total of 214 Naxal hideouts and bunkers,” a statement from the Interior Ministry added that hundreds of explosives had been recovered during the search.

The rebels are known as Indian Naxalites after Naxalbari, a village in West Bengal that was born in the late 1960s.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Operations for X posts.

“This success of security forces shows that our campaign to eradicate Naxalism is moving in the right direction. We are fully committed to establishing peace in areas affected by Naxal and linking them to the mainstream of development,” Modi said.

The Indian government cracked down on areas where Maoist groups are operating. This is an approach that appears to be lowering the threat level, but has been criticized by some observers for being more likely to be forced and abused.

According to Ministry of Interior data, cases of violence by rebel groups have decreased from 1,936 in 2010 to 374 in 2024. The total number of civilian and security force deaths has also fallen by 85% during this period, data shows.

However, villagers living in Maoist territory are largely cut off from the country’s rapidly growing economy, with many terrorizing, both taking children as recruits and violent government raids. Some Chhattisgarh villagers previously told CNN that they had been forced to pay taxes to Maoists and to face abuse and torture. But if they paid, they risked being labelled as Maoist sympathizers by government forces.

At least 31 Maoist rebels and two police officers were killed in February. This was explained by police as the most deadly battle ever this year.

In 2021, 22 Indian security force members were killed and injured in a four-hour shootout with the rebels in 2021, officials said.

3 Reasons to Load on XRP by June 2025

0

play

After an almost 600% increase after the 2024 election, XRP (Cryptography: XRP) We have settled into a relatively narrow trading area around the $2 mark. But it could be about to change, and XRP is on another major breakout crisis.

Currently, June 2025 is becoming the month when three important catalysts combine to send XRP high. If so, this may be your last chance to buy XRP for less than the cost of a cup of coffee.

Spot ETF approved

The first major catalyst is the potential approval of the new spot XRP ETF. All eyes will be on June 17th. This is the date SEC signs off with the Spot XRP ETF application from Franklin Templeton (NYSE: Ben). Initially they hoped that the SEC could do this in early May, but the decision was pushed back to June.

Of course, approval for Spot ETF is huge for XRP. It could finally lead to mainstream adoption of XRP. This was once one of the biggest names in the crypto world. XRP Bulls want to point to the Bitcoin example (Cryptography: BTC)Spot Bitcoin ETF was approved in January 2024. As soon as these ETFs began trading, Bitcoin spiked its prices.

Of course, there is no guarantee that the new spot ETF will also send out the price of XRP rising. After all, Ethereum’s new SpotETF launch (Encryption: ETH) Last July had little impact on prices. There are also concerns about how much demand for Spot XRP ETFs is, especially amidst the global economic turmoil and tariff uncertainty.

That being said, as the pipeline (including one from Franklin Templeton) currently has at least seven different spot XRP ETF applications, the traditional wisdom is that at least one of them will be approved by the end of 2025.

The Federal Reserve System for Rescue?

Another big catalyst is the next meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) from June 17-18. If the US economy shows signs of stalling as a result of a trade war, interest rate cuts could be on the agenda. Historically, interest rate cuts have been good for crypto, especially Altcoins such as XRP.

The basic idea here is that rate reductions make risky assets with higher yields relatively attractive. As a result, interest rate reductions usually lead to cheaper and faster infusions of money into the crypto sector. This will lead to crypto investors rising higher on the risk curve. Rather than focusing solely on Bitcoin, you may be encouraged to search for low-cost Altcoins such as XRP, which have the potential for significant future growth.

XRP Industry Events

The third potential catalyst is XRPlapex. That strange letter combination may mean nothing to the average investor, but it means everything to members of the XRP developer community. The Apex event is the largest annual summit for the XRP community, and this year’s event will feature the top executives of Ripple, the company behind XRP tokens.

So here is my thoughts. Most developer meetings in major tech companies lead to new product launches, new partnership launches, and the latest roadmap for the company to head next. We expect the same to happen at this year’s Apex event, which will be held in Singapore from June 10th to 12th.

The agenda of the vertex is still fixed at the moment. However, according to Ripple, there are sessions specialising in artificial intelligence (AI), cross-chain interoperability (i.e. the ability of digital assets to cross the blockchain), distributed finance (DEFI), and actual global asset (RWA) tokenization. A flashy new announcement from Ripple in any of these areas could send the price of XRP rising.

How much is XRP?

Certainly, all three of these catalysts are very speculative and there is no guarantee that any of them will result in a big bounce of XRP. But it’s certainly intriguing that all three of these catalysts are coming together at one point in June.

We already know that XRP can become parabolic. It surged from $0.50 on Election Day to $3.39 in just over two months. Of course, it relies heavily on the overall macroeconomic environment, but XRP’s long-term outlook is beginning to become much more bullish. I’m spinning in the calendar in June 2025 and hope for the best.

Three signs you are not ready to apply for Social Security yet

0

play

Many people are ready to receive a Social Security check before they can qualify for them at age 62. However, the actual application is two separate things, hoping for a check.

If you want to make the most of your program, there are several important steps you need to take before signing up to quickly complete your application and optimize lifetime benefits. If any of the following three applies to you, you may not be ready to argue yet.

1. No revenue records confirmed

Your revenue records show how much of your income was taxed on Social Security each year. Annual amounts are often similar to annual income, but this is not true for everyone, including those with high incomes.

This is because they will only pay Social Security Tax on the first $176,100 won in 2025. This limit, also known as a taxable wage base, is gradually increasing over time. If you earn more than your taxable wage base in a given year, your earnings record will instead display the annual limit. This is not an error.

It is important to check your earnings records accurately before applying. Errors are rare, but you can get a smaller profit than you deserve.

By creating my Social Security account, I have access to my revenue records. You will need to verify your identity when signing up. You can then log in with your username and password. This account lets you see what you know about your revenue records differently.

If you find it strange that the income you were working for the year has not been reported, you will need to submit a request to the Social Security Agency to amend your revenue record form. It shows the amount you actually earned that year, including documents like tax returns.

It is best to do this well before applying, as it can take time for the Social Security Agency (SSA) to investigate this and break your revenue records. If you have any questions about how this process works, please contact SSA.

2. You don’t understand how your claimed age affects your profits

Sometimes it’s not a choice to decide when to assert social security. Without other ways to cover your expenses, your decision is pretty clear. Applications for Social Security are better than assuming costly debt.

However, if you have work or savings, there may be a little more wiggling room when signing up. This allows you to think more strategically about the age you are claiming.

The first thing you need to know is your complete retirement age (FRA). The government will determine this based on your year of birth. For most people reading this, your FRA is 67. This applies to all people born after 1960 (some older adults have an FRA of 66-67). If you want to receive the full benefits you earn based on your work history, you must claim at this age.

However, you have the option to charge as soon as you turn 62. Know that making an early claim reduces your monthly profits. It could still be your best option if you need Social Security to pay for your essentials, or if health complications mean you have a shorter life expectancy.

For most people, delaying social security should bring greater lifetime benefits. Every month, you wait for it to apply and receive a discount on your check until you are eligible for the best profit of 70 years old.

It is best to weigh all options before deciding which age is best for you. Your Social Security account has tools that allow you to estimate your profits at any billing age to assist you in your decision.

3. There is no all the documentation needed to apply

Having the necessary information at hand will help you quickly complete your Social Security application. The SSA typically requests the following documents:

  • A record of your Social Security Card or Social Security Number.
  • Your original birth certificate or any other proof of your age.
  • Evidence of US citizenship or legal alien status If you are not born in the United States
  • A copy of the US military service if served before 1968.
  • A copy of last year’s W-2 or self-employment tax.

If you are missing important information, please contact the Social Security Agency. It may help you track what you need for free.

Once you’ve solved the above three issues, you should be in a much better place to determine if you’re ready to apply for Social Security. If you still think it’s the right move, you can apply online via my Social Security account or set up a mobile or in-person appointment with the SSA.

Emotions fly behind the scenes at RFK Jr.’s Congressional hearing

0

play

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s latest appearance on Capitol Hill was marked from the regular drama by a well-known protester who was kicked out of the committee room, and senior lawmakers who were shedding tears from camera glare.

The newly created Secretary of Health and Human Services faced two parliamentary committees on May 14th. He testified before the House Approximate Committee and the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

Democrat Rosa Delauro, a ranking member of the House Approximately Publishers, burned Kennedy on the dramatic cuts in research programs at institutions, including the National Institutes of Health. However, after the room was empty, she shared some of her personal history with a few reporters.

“I’m a survivor of ovarian cancer. I’ve been in 38 years now,” said Delauro, a visibly emotional. “I am here for God’s grace and biomedical research.”

Investing in research may not make a difference anytime soon, but it’s five to ten years when a country sees the difference – that’s what she’s worried about, she said.

During the hearing, lawmakers urged Kennedy to resist explicitly advise parents to vaccinate their children when the country is facing an outbreak of measles. As someone with a long history of controversial views about vaccines, Kennedy left his comfort zone in April and said the MMR vaccine was “the most effective way to prevent the spread of measles.”

However, he stopped recommending it to his parents.

Wednesday’s meeting will provide lawmakers with the opportunity to ask Kennedy directly, with Wisconsin Democrat Mark Pokan asking Kennedy:

“Perhaps because of measles,” Kennedy said. “What I say is that my opinion on vaccines is irrelevant.”

Pushing further, Kennedy said:

He was also praised equally by Republican lawmakers who praised Kennedy for his efforts to phase out artificial dyes from US food supplies.

Healthcare policy consultant William Arnone sat in the front row at the Senate committee meeting. A decades-long advisor to Democratic politicians, Arnone has advised everyone from Kennedy’s late father and well-known Democrat Robert F. Kennedy to former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton when he was a US Senator in New York.

Arnone said it was time for change.

“I was a traditional advocate for a program with democratic roots,” he said. “But it’s time to reassess everything and focus on the goal: prevention rather than treatment.”

Within minutes of Kennedy’s testimony, five members of the audience rose from their seats and began charging towards Kennedy.

Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry, was one of the protesters who were taken from the room by Capitol police. Ice cream companies are known for supporting liberal causes and candidates.

“I told Congress that they were buying bombs and killing poor kids in Gaza. They’re paying for it by kicking poor kids from Medicaid in the US. This was the response of the authorities,” he wrote to X.

Others like Jeffrey Rose cheered him on by saying that Kennedy would make America’s healthy moves again.

Rose, wearing a Green Maha hat, said she first crossed the road with former environmental lawyer Kennedy over 30 years ago.

“Now we have the first time we’re working at the Maha level,” Rose said. “How great is it? How great is it?”

Diddy’s net worth is huge. Prosecutors are thinking to grab “Benjamins”

0

In a sign of how serious the disgraceful entrepreneur is making assets forfeiture efforts, his lawyer hired former senior Justice Department official, USA Today, as a consultant.

play

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 1997 hit “It’s All a Benjamins” sums up the good life of rap moguls and the greedy thirst of rich wealth.

Becoming a successful entrepreneur in music, fashion, liquor and other fields made Combs a big name. He bought everything, including private jets, exotic cars, mansions on both coasts.

Now, Combs is facing a ju trial that allows him to be sent to prison for life, and is fighting the Imperial Department of Justice forfeiture that he claims to have been used as part of a criminal assault company from 2008 to the present.

Combs and his defense team have denied all allegations against him, characterising them as unfounded “money hands.” He pleaded not guilty to federal charges of sex trafficking, assault and transport to engage in prostitution.

However, amid signs that disgraceful entrepreneurs are making efforts to confiscate assets, his lawyer hired former vice chief of the Department of Justice’s Asset Formulation and Money Laundering section, USA Today learned.

Stephen Caserra, who served as an expert witness and consultant in law enforcement and authored two books on the topic, trained thousands of prosecutors and federal law enforcement agencies in the United States and abroad.

Cassella said she could not comment on the details of the case due to involvement in the case. But broadly speaking, he told USA Today that by charging combs under the Racketeer-influenced organizational law, or the corrupt organizational law, influenced by Rico, the government is taking a proactive approach to seizing as many combs assets as possible.

“The Rico confiscation is intended to be very broad and therefore has important consequences for the comb,” Cassella said in an exclusive interview. “So it’s going to be summed up in something that can prove they’re part of a company.”

Prosecutors declined to comment, citing the ongoing case.

The trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs is kicked off. How strong is the case against him? This is what we know now.

“A very widely spoken claim of forfeiture.”

In many RICOs, prosecutors have very specific allegations of “tools” being used as part of a suspected company.

However, amidst ominous signs of the prosecutor’s intentions, he said that the court documents related to Combs’ indictment essentially target all his business and personal assets.

“They are writing very widely spoken claims of forfeiture,” Trusty said. “It’s so vague and so broad that you’d think the defense will push for the detailed bill,” or a more specific explanation of what the Fed is looking for.

One thing that’s certain is that the flashy cars, houses and planes that Combs has accumulated are in the crosshairs of prosecutors, and that any of his companies can be broadly interpreted as part of an assaulting company in a small way.

For example, if the attack occurred in a record studio, it could represent that not only the studio, but also the record company combs were paying for music artists.

If Combs is convicted, the ju judge must decide how much of his empire is subject to forfeiture, according to the collapse of the Cassella, Trusty, Department of Justice Act by Cornell Law School’s Institute of Legal Information, as well as the RICO and Asset Formulation Act.

So how much is a comb worth? What does the government explicitly want? And after years of comb, is his assets trying to protect himself from the growing accusations of criminal misconduct?

Still wealthy, but now worth almost half of it: Forbes

In 2024, Forbes Magazine estimated Combs’ net worth was $400 million. This is a significant drop from the 2019 $740 million figure. Both Combs and his team claimed he was a billionaire, he said, despite Forbes not providing documents to support his claim.

According to published documents and news reports, Combs’ most valuable personal ownership could be a 17,000-square-foot, 10-bedroom mansion in Los Angeles’ Tony Holmby Hills section, a 17,000-square-foot 10-bedroom residence valued at over $61 million. It was attacked as part of a criminal investigation and was sold last September.

Combs also owns a 9,600-square-foot home on Lake Toluca, just northwest of the Hollywood Sign. And he owns a $48 million mansion on 2 West Star Island in Miami and an adjacent facility on 1 West Star Island. On August 20, 2024, Combs paid off his $18.9 million mortgage, so he could secure two Weststars as collateral in his failed efforts to get bail and leave prison while awaiting trial, documents show.

Combs also owns a G550 jet worth more than $25 million, known as Loveair, and he also seeks sales to pay huge legal fees.

It is also potentially open to confiscation: Combs’ Bad Boy Records has been generating money from recording and music publishing rights since it launched its company in 1993.

Combs is not known to own “The Giant Size Picasso,” which he sings on his hits. However, he is believed to have an extensive art collection, including works by Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring.

In 2018 he was revealed for $21.1 million as a mystery buyer for the famous painting “Age of the Past” by Kelly James Marshall.

His fleet of at least 20 luxury cars once included the super-luxury Mercedes known as the Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maybach.

His Empire’s 2023 “rebranding” became globally combs

In February 2023, Combs announced that it was “after 30 years of entrepreneurial success with a well-known brand.”.

Combs said “a groundbreaking acquisition of becoming a vertically integrated diverse operator owned by the largest minority in the cannabis industry” for $185 million, more accurately reflecting his ambitious vision for the future.

Founded in 2013, Combs Enterprises included New York-based Bad Boy Entertainment, Combs Wines and Spirits, Aquahydrate Water Firm, Revolt Media, Sean John Fashion and Fragrances, Capital Preparatory Charter Schools, and Sean Combs Foundation.

Over the years, we have expanded to include new business units and ventures such as Empower Global, a focus on R&B, our fair share, and Love Records.

“Combs Global is the next chapter in my journey as a business leader and represents a big vision to build the largest portfolio of leading black brands in the world,” says Combs. “I joined a world-class team of top executives, specialists and strategic partners to realize this new dream and put us in the best position to continue making history while leading this industry-wide 30 years of domination.”

The Combs Empire begins to collapse

In November 2023, Combs’ empire began to collapse following allegations of rape, beat and abuse by former girlfriend Cassie, also known as Casandra Ventura Fine.

Combs’ partnerships have also ended in Love Records, Capital Preparatory Schools, and Empower Global Online Black Business Marketplace. And the cannabis venture ultimately failed due to complications of the merger.

What does the government want?

Prosecutors in the Southern District of New York, or Manhattan, have not sealed the charges against the comb. The other alleged suspect, Cocon splicer, is being charged under seal.

However, the indictment also mentions Combs’ business, which is “headquarted at various times in Manhattan and Los Angeles,” under a variety of US-based corporate entities, including Bad Boy Entertainment, Combs Enterprises and Combs Global.

Collectively, all of these are called “Combs Business.” It also avoids certain entities, but includes, among other things, record labels, recording studios, apparel lines, alcohol spirits businesses, marketing agencies, television networks and media companies.

According to federal law, anything confiscated following a criminal conviction could be used to help some or all of those allegedly victimized by combs.

But both Cassella and Trusty said federal RICO laws are designed to punish convicted people rather than compensate victims. For example, it does not include headlines that earn millions of dollars headlines for the pain, suffering and reputational damage caused by the general defendant in a civil suit such as that brought about by Ventura Fine.

Instead, criminal cases victims are eligible to use the assets forfeiture funds for medical and funeral costs if death is involved.

“What they actually owes under the law is not a full picture of compensation,” he said. “The criminal law was “not as vast as the civil law” when it came to creating an entire victim of criminal activity.

Victims of COMB’s criminal acts can seek the percentage of assets that have been confiscated through civil lawsuits and prosecutions, Cassella said. To date, more than 70 lawsuits have been filed against Comb, many of whom alleged sexual abuse.

In the case of Combs, the prosecutors and FBI investigators may be looking for assets that the music mogul who fought in recent years may have hidden, especially as his legal issues have arisen.

Combs himself may have hinted at a 1997 hit that helped him start his rap career years later as a producer and Imprezario, and he may have hinted at a tendency to hide money.

“And leave your will that you don’t have now,” Combs sings in “Everything about Benjamin.” “But don’t knock me to try and fill the 7-zero in Rio de Jayneely.”

YouTuber Mrbeast raises controversy by filming in archaeological locations in Mexico

0

CNN

Jimmy Donaldson, better known as Mrbeast, is at the heart of another controversy, this time directly involved in Mexico.

Mrbeast, the world’s most subscriber YouTuber, released a video on May 10 when he visited Mexico’s most important archaeological location.

Mrbeast also visited archaeological sites in Karakmuur, Karamake’s province in Yucatan and Balamkanche.

The video, which has accumulated over 55 million views as of Wednesday afternoon, shows Mrbeast and his team around Kukulkan within other archaeological structures of Cenotes and Temples.

As the Mexican government has confirmed, some of these sites are generally inaccessible forever.

What are the controversies surrounding Mexican Mrbeast?

This controversy focuses on the fact that YouTubers were allowed to enter sites considered sacred to Mexican pre-Hispanic culture, and is often restricted.

In part of the video, Mrbeast himself stated:

In response to the controversy, the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) – an agency attached to the Mexican government’s Ministry of Culture – declared that both the visit and recording had been carried out through a “formal request.”

However, these requests were not made by Mrbeast, but by the “Ministry of Tourism and the Government” Yucatan and Campeche, INAH indicated. In his video description, Mrbeast argues that the publication is “cooperation with the Mexico Ministry of Tourism.”

Mexican President Claudia Sinbaum said Wednesday that there is a permit for the “broadcast” but asked INAH to report “under the conditions under which this permission was granted.”

“And if you violate the permit, you need to decide which sanctions apply,” the president added.

Other points sparked controversy, including a drone shot that appears to be inside a temple on the top of El Castillo in Chicin Itza. In this regard, INAH said this has not happened and the shots are actually recorded outside of the structure.

There are also scenes where Mrbeast appears to descend to an archaeological site by helicopter, and he holds a pre-Hispanic mask in his hand.

According to INAH, all this was wrong or edited after the recording. “Obviously, the video includes extensive post-visual production work, hinting at the fact that producers are not descendants of helicopters, not descendants of helicopters, but rather that they have spent the night in an archaeological place, or that modern-day Mr A revealed that he had made the mistake of being false as modern-day. Reflect the theatricality of the YouTuber in question.”

How easy is it to apply for a permit? Is it true that even archaeologists can’t enter, as Mrbeast argues?

Exploration, filming and broadcasting on Mexican archaeological sites is a restricted activity that has little tolerance.

INAH said access to areas that the public has never been able to access forever while laboratories were constantly overseeing Mrbeast’s activities.

“The tour took place in public areas without affecting visitor access. In the case of Calakmul, the substructure II was also visited. It is not publicly available forever, but generally provides access by arranging scheduled visits by justification.

Sheinbaum asked INAH to provide information about the nature of MrBeast video permission. Until it is announced, its scope and the points it covers are unknown.

However, the law allows exploration of Mexican archaeological sites in the United States to be made by a very small group of institutions.

In September 2024, INAH responded to a request for citizen information requesting the “requirements and procedures” required to enter the Kukulkan pyramid of Chichen Itza.

In this request, Jose Francisco Javier Osorio Leon, director of Chichen Itza’s Archaeological Zone, “follows” in accordance with the provisions of federal law regarding archaeological, artistic and historical monuments and zones, noting that those historic histories are carried by the historians of scientists, all sorts of material tasks to discover or explore the history of histories carried by the historians, which have been carried by the scientific history. With prior permission.”

Similarly, section 31 of the Act states that approval granted by the INAH must specify “the conditions that the work must be covered and the obligations of those who carry it out.”

Details of Mrbeast’s video permission are still unknown, but INAH said that YouTuber’s videos provide “distorted” information, but its spread “may be motivated by interests from Mexico and around the world, and that it could lead to learning about ancestral culture and visiting archaeological sites.”

Meanwhile, Federal Culture Secretary Claudia Curiel de Icaza opposed the activities Mrbeast and his team had carried out in archaeological locations.

“This is not the first time this type of incident has happened, it’s revealed. Of course, we disagree. There are proper sanctions, as these spaces are not the purpose,” Culiel de Icaza said on Tuesday at a decorative and utilitarian art event.

CNN contacted Mrbeast for comment.

Papa Johns and Mountain Dew team up with a new twist on dirty soda ahead of the season 2 premiere of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

“The cinidarti soda is blended with Mountain Dew citrus flavor and Papa John’s Peparon Sinni kick, leading to a “carbonated, tangy blend.”

Starting May 14th, from a limited time, Papa Rewards members will have the opportunity to obtain the limited edition “Cini Dirty Soda Kit” at Papajohnscinisoda.com. No purchase is required. The kit comes with a sophisticated insulation bag, and all ingredients fans need to vent their drinks.

If the kit is not available, Papa Johns said he will immediately leak “Dirty (Soda) Secret” on his Instagram page.

What is dirty soda?

Dirty soda usually involves mixing a splash of sodium carbonated and coffee creamer, sometimes fruit and flavored syrup.

The origin of “Dirty Soda” is unknown, but this trend began to be featured in 2010 when Swig, known as the “Dirty” Soda House,” opened in St. George, Utah. The soda business has become popular in major Mormon regions as it bans hot caffeine drinks like tea and coffee.

The drink gained national popularity in December 2021 when singer Olivia Rodrigo posted a photo of herself holding a Swig cup on Instagram. Eater reported in April 2022 that #Dirtysoda had more than 700,000 mentions in Tiktok following a post by Rodrigo.

The report found that luxury travel demand is strong amidst economic uncertainty

play

Economic uncertainty and uncertainty about international travel could suspend holiday plans this year, but a new report shows that demand for luxury travel is strong.

Priority Hotels & Resorts released its first luxury travel report on Wednesday – developed in collaboration with Harris’ polls. This shows that the average luxury traveler is planning eight leisure trips over the next 12 months. The hotel brand surveyed 503 wealthy US adults between late February and early March. A person who spends at least $1 million in total assets and typically more than $10,000 each year on leisure trips. Additionally, respondents planned a leisure trip within the following year.

“The luxurious travel report by Priority Hotels & Resorts reveals that today’s wealthy travelers are investing meaning not only in their money, but in their journeys,” the brand said in a news release. “Gorgeous travelers want an immersive, curated experience that feels personal and lasting.

Luxury tourists plan to spend more on their trip

Half of respondents (over 55%) plan to spend more on leisure trips in 2025 than last year. The survey found that 29% expect these costs to reach more than $50,000 a year, while 34% expect to spend between $25,000 and $49,999, with 38% expecting spending below $25,000.

That doesn’t mean they don’t feel economic pressure. According to the report, “75% of luxury travelers have adapted their travel habits in response to rising costs,” an unclear economic situation. These tactics include offsetting costs through membership and loyalty points (47%), moving to a high-end hotel during the offseason (36%), and spending more quality than travel amount (32%).

What else are luxury travelers looking for?

Travelers also voted on travel priorities, based on the type of trip to the hotel they were looking for.

  • 90% planned one or more international trips, with France (25%), Italy (23%) and Canada (20%) among the most popular destinations.
  • Travel of all ages was on many agendas surveyed, with 71% of respondents taking at least one multi-generational trip next year.
  • Respondents were looking for characters at the accommodation. Of those surveyed, 67% agreed that “modern luxury hotels sacrificed their souls for standardization,” and nearly three-quarters said they would not pay for general luxury accommodation.
  • Travelers were also intended to connect with the past. The report found that 95% would like to integrate “historical experiences” into travel.

The full report is available here.

Age and inflation concerns affect travel plans

Another report from consulting firm Simon-Kucher found that travel appears to differ between generations.

Younger generations often choose affordable prices over luxury when booking travel accommodations, but we found that only 32% of baby boomers willing to do the same thing.

Simon-Kucher partner Shikha Jain said it’s not surprising as young travelers are likely to spend more on comfort after retirement while they are more focused on their experience outside their hotel rooms.

Jain said consumer expectations regarding tariffs could also play a role in holiday planning. She said some high Western travelers are somewhat immune to price increases, but they fear that higher inflation will lead to increased wages that reduce future services and travel costs.

“They buy joy, control and comfort before these types of experiences become expensive,” Jain said. “They are preparing for a future where premiums are more expensive and accessible.”

Despite ease of inflation to its four-year low in April, consumer confidence continued to decline, as Americans recognized risks on multiple aspects of the economy, citing uncertainty about trade policy and concerns that inflation could revive.

“It torments our souls”: Venezuelans respond to the first video of Salvador Prison relatives after Matt Getz TV report

0

CNN

Sitting on the sofa at his home in Malacay, Venezuela, Mirelis Casik Lopez looks at his son, Francisco Javier Garcia Casique on his mobile phone.

“In the boys, I recognized my son,” Kasik Lopez told CNN. “We thank God for making sure we can see relatives, even under those conditions,” she added, insisting that she will continue to pray for their release.

The video aired Tuesday on One America News Network on a show hosted by former Republican MP Matt Gaetz. He visited CECOT and gained access to the wings of a prison that houses a group of over 200 Venezuelans who were deported by President Donald Trump’s administration. Many were alleged without evidence that they were members of Venezuelan gangster Tren de Aragua, as they are controversial in alien enemy law.

The report shows the Venezuelan about a minute’s clip behind the bar, wearing a prisoner’s uniform in a white T-shirt and shorts. From the moment the TV cameras enter prison, detainees respond with a cry of “Freedom, freedom!” And “Venezuela!” Another group makes a fist with four fingers on their thumb, a universal gesture for help.

Yenni Luz Rincón Ramírez identified his brother Jonathan Miguel Ramírez in the video. “I was delighted to finally see him in 60 days,” she told CNN in Venezuela. She argued that her brother’s detention was unfair and that he was not a member of Tren de Aragua.

Rincón Ramírez is not the only person he has ever seen his loved one since the deportation was announced in March.

Blanca Martínez told CNN she learned that her partner, Miguel Angel Rojas, had been deported to El Salvador through a list published by the media outlet. She hadn’t heard from him since. So far, neither the US nor the Salvadoran government has published official lists under the names of those deported to CECOT.

“It was sad to see him without knowing how he really was,” Martinez said. Rojas is suffering from depression and adding that knowing he is in custody in Secott will cause her great distress.

American citizen Angie Rios told CNN in a telephone interview that she recognized her husband, Jessu Rios, in a video. “I looked at him and heard him,” she said. “He’s the most handsome of all,” she said lovingly about her partner. Rios added when she last saw her husband become March 15th. “He’s in survival mode,” Rios says when he sees Jesus, he is one of the detainees who screams “Free!”

“In that video it feels like he’s fighting so he can hear him.”

CNN was unable to confirm whether these individuals have a criminal history in the United States and has contacted the Department of Homeland Security for comment.

Following the release of the video, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro again denounced what he considers to be an invitation to El Salvador by Venezuelan citizens.

“As we saw today, I vow to save the 253 Venezuelans who were lured in El Salvador in concentration camps,” he said Tuesday. “Let us demand that you be lured without trial and be released immediately without committing a crime, without the right to appear before the judge, without the right to defend.

CNN contacted President Salvador to comment on Maduro’s statement.

In April, Salvador President Naibe Buquere proposed to Maduro the exchange of those deported and detained to his country, as well as what he would be considered a “political prisoner” of the Venezuelan government. Maduro responded by requesting access to prisoners for his lawyers and his family.

In March, El Salvador agreed to detain up to 300 immigrants sent by the Trump administration at CECOT. According to an agreement between the two governments, El Salvador will receive around $6 million to keep them there.

The US Virgin Islands are suing Coca-Cola and Pepsi over plastic waste

0

“The Virgin Islands are facing a waste management crisis,” the lawsuit states.

play

The US Virgin Islands government is suing PepsiCo and Coca-Cola for the role of businesses in the issue of “disastrous” plastic waste on the territory.

The lawsuit alleges that businesses deceived consumers by promoting their disposable plastic bottles as “environmentally responsible choices,” according to an April 11 filing in the Virgin Islands Superior Court.

Defendants appointed in the case also include divisions of CC One Virgin Islands, LLC, Beverage Distributor, Pepsico Caribbean and Pepsico.

“The Virgin Islands are facing a waste management crisis, and this is due to the defendant’s actions to mistakenly promote and distribute a series of plastic used,” the lawsuit states.

USA Today contacted PepsiCo, Coca-Cola and CC One Virgin Islands on May 14th, but there was no response.

“The situation is tragic right now.”

The Virgin Islands government accuss businesses of contributing to the plastic waste problem as they “sell excessive amounts of beverages packaged in disposable plastic bottles without the need to equip or pay an environmentally responsible way.

The government also said that two landfills on the territory have either been close to capacity for years or are capable and should be closed in the coming years. The lawsuit says recycling is also “particularly difficult and expensive” as barges must be used to transport barges from the island.

“The limited space in the island’s landfills will significantly increase the difficulty of finding viable solutions to the explosion of plastic waste,” the government said in its submission.

The complaint adds, “The situation is now dire.”

The lawsuit alleges that PepsiCo and Coca-Cola deceived consumers over plastic use

The lawsuit further alleges that both PepsiCo and Coca-Cola are deliberately deceiving consumers and “engaging in a disinformation campaign” over single-use plastics.

“PepsiCo and Coca-Cola recognize that consumers have become increasingly sensitive to sustainability and recycling and have tried to brand themselves as sustainable despite the reality,” the lawsuit states.

The plaintiffs said over the years marketing campaigns from both PepsiCo and Coca-Cola have misunderstood consumers in believing that the company’s products are environmentally sustainable.

How does single-use plastic affect the environment?

According to the Plastic Free Challenge, single-use plastic is a type of plastic that is used once before being thrown away or recycled, such as soda bottles, straws, and stir-fried coffee.

According to Oceana, if these items are thrown away, they can be dumped in landfills and then dumped into the sea.

These plastics are then broken down into small pieces known as microplastics.

Meanwhile, the plastics industry has rejected some of the research.

Matt Seaholm, CEO and President of Plastics Industry Association, said in a recent statement to USA Today that plastic “provides reuse and recycling possibilities while providing unparalleled safety, protection and efficiency across countless applications.”

Pregnant immigrants seek to get a birthright citizenship lawsuit in the US Supreme Court

0

play

Barbara, a 35-year-old asylum seeker from Cuba, is a big loom among the other pregnant immigrants she speaks about whenever she goes to a prenatal appointment in Louisville, Kentucky. Will their babies be born to American citizens?

Wishing to be identified by her name for fear of retaliation, Barbara crossed the US-Mexican border in 2022 and applied for asylum. The Cuban lawyer said she escaped political and religious persecution in her home country. She, husband and four-year-old daughter have pending US asylum applications and do not have permanent immigration status. The baby is scheduled for July.

An executive order issued by President Donald Trump in January automatically limits American birthright citizenship – part of his wide immigration crackdown, which would deny anticipated citizenship to children if it was in effect.

Three federal judges issued a nationwide injunction that obstructed policy, finding the 14th amendment to the US Constitution likely to violate citizenship language on an issue raised by Democratic lawyers from 22 states and various pregnancy immigration and advocacy groups.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday is expected to hear debate in the Trump administration’s demand that justice allows broad enforcement of instructions by narrowing the scope of the injunction.

Trump signed the order on his first day back in the White House, instructing federal agencies to refuse to grant citizenship to US-born children without at least one parent who is a US citizen or a legal permanent resident.

That night, Barbara barely slept, she said.

“I heard that news caused me such a terrible stress that it still follows me to this day,” she said.

The state attorney general said in February that Trump’s order would deny citizenship to more than 150,000 children born in the United States each year. Approximately 3.6 million babies were born in the United States in 2024, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Supreme Court believes that the administration is targeting only the national scope of injunctions, with content that entrusts them to protect only those who sued and residents of the 22 states, and that justice holds the legal status that these states need to file their lawsuits.

The outcome could enable Trump’s orders in 28 states that did not sue, including Kentucky, except for plaintiffs who reside in those states. And the Supreme Court can act without assessing the legality of Trump’s instructions.

The 14th amendment, ratified in 1868, is understood to grant citizenship to almost anyone born in the United States for a long time. The Trump administration argues that automatic birthright citizenship does not reflect the best reading of the 14th amendment, which encourages “birth tourism” by mothers who are hoping to travel to the United States, giving birth and safe citizenship for their children.

“Born in Limbo”

The interests are particularly high for asylum seekers like Barbara, or for people from countries that do not have an embassy in the US, supporters said.

If her daughter was born with a claim to US citizenship, she said she was worried that the child would become stateless. Seeking Cuban nationality is not an option, she said, “Because we came here and fled the regime.”

Karina Ambartsoumian-Clough, executive director of United Stateless, a group that advocates for the people of Stateless, said the termination of Birthright citizenship would create a “subset of people without legal identities.”

Citizenship laws vary from country to country, policies often change, countries sometimes disband and borders move, Ambertomian Krau said. Not all countries allow citizenship to be inherited through parents, Ambartsoumian-Clough added.

The more direct practicality is also surprising, Ambartsoumian-Clough said. For example, how is a baby officially registered and access to medical care and vaccinations?

Barbara, who worked as a custodian at a local school until she was placed in the bed rest due to a high-risk pregnancy, said she was nervous about her baby being “born in Limbo” as she follows what happens in the Supreme Court.

She plans to name her daughter’s Valley.

“This baby from the womb is very brave and there’s a future to conquer in this country, despite it already becoming very difficult,” Barbara said.

In her medical appointment, she said she saw the other mothers, crying while talking about the possibility that other mothers (mainly Guatemalan and Mexicans) had not achieved citizenship.

Barbara said she felt her heart rate was rising and her hands started to sweat when she spoke about it.

“When I spoke to other moms, she said, ‘I know I’m not the only one.”

Blake Lively allegedly put pressure on Taylor Swift to support him in the lawsuit

0

play

Blake Lively’s fight with Blake Lively’s “It Ending with Us” co-star Justin Baldoni has highlighted her friendship with Taylor Swift.

A week after media speculations emerged, a week emerged, in which Swift was summoned in the actor’s lawsuit. This combines Lively’s previous lawsuit alleging Bardoni and Bardoni’s sexual misconduct, collaborating with the New York Times to report on the case.

In late April, Bardoni’s lawyers filed their intention to summon a national law firm that previously represented Swift (particularly in her sexual assault case against radio DJ David Mueller in 2015) in accordance with additional court documents filed in the US District Court in southern New York on May 13th.

In a letter to Judge Liman on May 14, the legal team led by Bardoni lawyer Brian Friedman opposed Lively’s claim that the subpoena wanted “unrelated information.” The lawyer said the orders could shed light on “eyewitness tampering,” including alleged communication between Lively’s Swift and her legal team.

Bardoni’s lawyer reportedly reportedly is in contact with “a source that is likely to have reliable information,” claims Lively requested that Swift remove the text message. Additionally, Lively’s lawyer Michael Gottlieb is said to have contacted the Venable lawyer representing Swift and requested that Lively’s “subsidy statement” be released in his legal battle with Baldoni.

According to the Baldoni lawyer’s motion, Gottlieb’s request for a statement included the threat that private text messages between women would be released if Swift did not comply.

USA Today was active and promptly contacted its representative for comments.

Bardoni’s lawyers argue that the subpoena can obtain these communications, including written messages from live representatives, that they address requests for public support for live. The actor’s legal team added that such communications mark “an attempt to intimidate and enforce a witness of Percity Ent in this lawsuit.”

Attorney Blake Lively denys Taylor Swift’s claim

In a statement to USA Today on May 14, Attorney Michael Gottlieb argued that Bardoni’s lawyer’s “categorically false” claims were energized by vibrant pressure and her legal team for lending her support.

“We explicitly deny all of these so-called allegations. They are co-ill by anonymous sources and are completely ignored by reality,” Gottlieb said. “This is what we have come to expect from the lawyers of the Wayfarer parties. He appears to have no love for anything other than filming first, without evidence and without paying attention to those who are causing harm in the process.”

Baldoni’s media production company Wayfarer Studios is listed as a party in his and Lively’s ongoing lawsuits.

Additionally, Lively’s lawyers filed a counterclaim calling the court “unfounded” to throw away the May 14 letter and calling it “unnecessary, inappropriate and abusive.”

A spokesman for Taylor Swift criticizes the request for a subpoena

The requested order must disclose all case-related communications between Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, both as a party to the suit, as well as a party to the suit, as well as to the case, according to court documents.

In response, Venable filed a motion on May 12th to cancel the subpoena. The A-list couple also filed their own claims of intervention to defeat the subpoena request.

In a May 9 statement to the USA Today Network, a Swift spokesman highlighted the minimal involvement of the singer with the lively Bardoni film “It Ends With Us.”

” Given that her involvement had licensed the film’s songs, this documentary summon, which was also made by 19 other artists, is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbaits instead of focusing on the facts of the case,” the representative said.

Voyager 1: The “dead” thrusters from the farthest spaceship from Earth are back in operation

CNN

Engineers and NASA Let’s say at Nick in time before the planned communication blackout, they revive the Thrusters on Voyager 1, the spaceship farthest from our planet.

The side effect of upgrading to an Earth-based antenna that sends commands to Voyager 1 and its twin Voyager 2 could have caused a communication pause when the probe faced a serious problem. No operation since 2004, new fixes of the original roll thruster of the vehicle may be useful The veteran spacecraft will continue to operate until they can contact the house again next year.

Used Voyager 1, released in September 1977 Multiple sets of thrusters that work well. The main thrusters allow the spacecraft to be carefully pointed and able to keep its antennas facing the Earth. This allows the probe to send back data collected from a unique perspective 15.5 billion miles (25 billion kilometers) away in interstellar space, allowing the Voyager team to receive commands sent.

Within the primary set there are additional thrusters that control the roll of the spacecraft. This leaves Voyager 1 still pointed towards the Guide Star and towards the universe.

If Voyager can’t control the roll motion, the mission can be threatened.

However, as the thrusters ignite, small amounts of propellant residue accumulate over time. So far, engineers have avoided clogging by commanding Voyager 1 to cycle between the original and the backup thruster, as well as the series of thrusters used to modify the trajectory of the spacecraft during the planet Flybee in the 1980s. However, the trajectory thruster does nothing to contribute to the roll of the spacecraft.

The original roll thruster of Voyager 1 stopped working more than 20 years ago after losing power in two internal heaters. In other words, the spacecraft relies on backup roll thrusters and has remained directed at the guide stars ever since.

“I think at the time, the team was OK to accept that the primary roll thruster didn’t work because they had a totally good backup,” said Kareem Badaruddin, Voyager Mission Manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. “And frankly, they probably didn’t think Voyager would continue for another 20 years.”

Currently, Voyager 1 engineers are concerned that they could become clogged from residue and that the spacecraft’s backup roll thruster could soon be working this fall.

How NASA maintains 47-year-old Voyager Spacecraft

When the heater on the primary roll thruster failed in 2004, the engineers thought it could not be fixed. However, the threat posed by the looming side made the team go back to the drawings and see what was wrong.

The engineers considered that disruption in the circuit controlling the power supply to the heater could cause the switch to be inverted to the wrong position, causing it to turn back to its original position.

But it has not been an easy solution for probes that have been operating far up until now. The spacecraft is now over the Heliosphere, a bubble of particles that extends far beyond the solar magnetic field and particle orbit.

Mission Team I had to take risks by switching Voyager 1 to the primary roll thruster and turning them on before I tried to fix and restart the heater. The heater can only work if the thruster is also on.

If Voyager 1 is too far from the guide star, the spacecraft programming will cause the launch of a roll thruster, but if the heater is not yet on at that moment, the automatic sequence can cause a small explosion.

In addition to the risks, the team that started work earlier this year faced time constraints. The giant Earth-based antenna in Canberra, Australia went offline on May 4th for an upgrade that continues until February 2026. NASA’s deep space network allows agents to communicate with all of the spacecraft, but the Canberra antenna is the only one with enough signal strength to send commands loudly.

“These antenna upgrades are important for future crew members’ lunar landings and will enhance the communication capabilities of science missions in deep space, partly based on discoveries created by Voyager.” “We’ve experienced such downtime before, so we’re just preparing as much as possible.”

The antenna works briefly in August and December, but members of the mission team wanted to order Voyager 1 to test long thrusters before they can no longer communicate with the spacecraft. Thus, if you need to turn on thrusters in August, your team will know if it is a viable option.

On March 20th, the team was waiting for results to return from Voyager 1 after sending The day before commands to the probe activate the thruster and heater. Due to the distance between the two, it takes more than 23 hours for the data to return to Earth from Voyager 1.

If the test fails, Voyager 1 may already be at risk. However, the team looked at the data stream and knew that the temperature on the thruster heater had increased dramatically and that it worked.

“It was a very bright moment. The team was very morale that day,” Todd Barber, the driving force behind the mission at JPL, said in a statement. “These thrusters were considered dead. That was a legitimate conclusion. One of the engineers had this insight that there was this other possible cause and could be corrected. That was another miracle of Voyager.”

Social Security payments are coming a little late in May: see schedule

0

play

Social Security payments are scheduled to go out on May 14th a few days later than the typical one.

This is because Social Security payments will be made, as they could be slower than any other month this year. That’s exactly how the agency calendar unfolds.

Most of the nearly 74 million Social Security beneficiaries receive benefits on Wednesdays throughout the month. For example, if your date of birth applies between the first and ten seconds of the month, your payment will be made on the second Wednesday of the month, May 14th (the most recent day on the calendar).

Social Security payment schedule

According to the SSA calendar, the schedule for regular Social Security retirement benefits sent in May is as follows:

  • Wednesday, May 14th: Your date of birth is between the first and ten days of the month.
  • Wednesday, May 21st: Your date of birth is between the 11th and 20th of the month.
  • Wednesday, May 28th: Your date of birth is between the 21st and 31st of the month.

Note: If you receive benefits based on your spouse’s job, the payment date is based on your spouse’s date of birth.

Social Security recipients who have begun receiving benefits by May 1997 will be paid on the third day of the month. If you also get supplemental security income (SSI), the benefits arrive in one day.

Reminder: The Social Security Administration will allow three additional mailing dates before contacting the agency if you do not receive payments on the expected date. However, most recipients (99%) are paid electronically.

Social Security payments will be a little late in the next few months of these

According to the 2026 Social Security Agency calendar, typical Social Security payments are behind the calendar again, so if you need a budget, then:

  • January 2026: The second Wednesday of the month is January 14th. Those born from the 1st to the 10th of that month will receive the benefit on that day. Those born between the 11th and 20th will receive the benefit on January 21st. Recipients born on 21-31st will be paid on January 28th.
  • May 2026: The second Wednesday of the month is May 13th, so those born between the 1st and 10th of that month will receive the benefit on that day. Recipients born between the 11th and 20th will be paid on May 20th. Anything born on 21-31st will be paid on May 27th.
  • October 2026: The second Wednesday of October is October 14th. Those born between the 1st and 10th of the month will receive benefits on that day. Those born between the 11th and 20th will receive the benefit on October 21st. Recipients born on 21-31st will be paid on October 28th.

The second SSI payment will be made in May

Beneficiaries obtaining Supplementary Security Income (SSI) received payments on May 1st. However, the second check is scheduled for May 30th. This is because SSI benefits are issued early if the first of the month (the usual date of an SSI payment) falls on a federal public holiday or weekend. June 1st is Sunday.

Approximately 7.4 million Americans with disabilities (including children) or with little or no income or resources will receive monthly SSI benefits. Approximately half of those who have obtained SSI also have Social Security.

SSI Payment Schedule for 2025

According to the SSA calendar, supplementary security income checks will be sent on the next date in 2025.

  • Friday, May 30th, 2025 (Checked June 2025)
  • Tuesday, July 1st, 2025 (Checked in July 2025)
  • Friday, August 1st, 2025 (Checked August 2025)
  • Friday, August 29th, 2025 (checks for September 2025)
  • Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 (checks for October 2025)
  • Friday, October 31st, 2025 (checks for November 2025)
  • Monday, December 1st, 2025 (Checked December 2025)
  • Wednesday, December 31st, 2025 (Checked January 2026)

Air Force Qatar 747 and The Katari: How They Compare

0

President Donald Trump says the Air Force is less impressive than the planes of leaders in Qater, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. “It’s much smaller,” he says.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump says the Air Force hasn’t sniffed.

As he lands and sits on the tarmac on planes of leaders in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, he says the president’s vehicles don’t compare.

“It’s like a completely different plane,” Trump told Fox News commentator Sean Hannity that he rode Air Force 1 during his trip to the Middle East this week. “It’s getting much smaller. It’s not that impressive.”

But as Trump plans to accept the Boeing 747-8, it is often referred to as the “empty palace” by Qatar’s royal family (the largest $400 million foreign gift for the US president) may not jump off the casual flyer page.

Qatar’s planes are 18 feet 4 inches longer than Air Force 1, allowing them to gain weight and fly a little faster and faster. It is also 22 years newer than Air Force 1, which was built in 1990. Both planes hold the same number of passengers and have the same height.

But Qatar’s planes, according to Bloomberg, most visibly separate themselves with their gorgeous interior amenities, with creamy white leather furniture, rugs, artwork, rugs and artwork. According to Bloomberg.

Trump portrayed the jet as an aging relic and Qatar’s plane as a severely necessary upgrade. “We are the United States,” Trump said. “We believe we should have the most impressive plane.”

However, if converted to Air Force 1, the inside of Qatar’s planes would be completely peeled off, scrubbed for surveillance technology for security reasons, effectively restructured, and Republican lawmakers told the Wall Street Journal to a committee that oversees the country’s armed services and intelligence agency.

Trump complains that Boeing was too late to complete the new Air Force after the first administration in 2018 awarded the company a $3.9 billion contract to build two new Air Force one jets. CNN reported that new planes could be delivered by 2027. This is two years before the recently predicted date, before Trump’s second term ended. (The Air Force operates the 2nd Air Force 1 Jet, a Boeing 747-200B Series aircraft deployed in 1991.)

Trump’s idea is that the Qatar planes will act as one of the temporary air forces until Boeing finishes building a new version. The plane goes to his future presidential library.

Critics of the Democrats and other moves argue that accepting planes could violate the constitution’s emolations clause. This prohibits American officials from accepting “any kind of existence” from kings, princes or foreign countries.

The White House retorted that planes are personally a gift to the US Air Force, not the Trumps.

The White House has not released information about Trump’s craving Qatar planes. However, the news publication tracked the tail number of the plane this summer when it was parked at Palm Beach International Airport in South Florida. This number matches the Boeing serial number detailed in “Aircraft Specification Overview” on page 16 by the Swiss company Amac Aerospace.

It is unclear whether Qatar Airplane has taken up accommodation since the summary was posted in 2023.

This is a comparison between Qatar Airplanes and Air Force 1 based on publicly available information.

Boeing 747-200B v. Boeing 747-8

Air Force 1 is the Boeing 747-200B, with more fuel capacity and more powerful engine than the standard 747-200. Boeing first began offering models in 1972.

The Air Force has been upgraded from the standard 747-200B, including special electronic and communications equipment, self-contained baggage loaders, front and rear air forces, and in-flight refueling capabilities.

According to Boeing, the Qatar plane is a Boeing 747-8, a wide-body aircraft with a longer fuselage and redesigned wings. This model came to the market in 2011.

Airplane age

One current Air Force plane was completed in 1990 and served six presidents: George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Trump.

The Qatar Royal Family purchased the Boeing 747-B in 2012. It was built in the same year. The interior of the plane was renovated and began service in 2015.

Katari planes can fly further away

Qatar owns the 747-B, which is longer and a little taller, also has a 224-foot, 5-inch wing span compared to the 195-8-inch Air Force.

The Qatar 747-8 can also fly further without refueling. The Air Force can fly about 7,751 miles without refueling. This is the equivalent of a flight west from Washington, DC to Tokyo.

The 747-B has a maximum takeoff weight of 987,000 pounds compared to the Air Force 1 833,000 pounds.

Inside the Air Force 1 room

According to information from Boeing and the US military, the Air Force has approximately 4,000 square feet of internal floor space.

This includes an executive suite with both presidential and first lady quarters (with dressing room, labourtry and shower), meeting and dining rooms, office areas for senior staff, areas that can be converted into medical facilities, presidential staff and secret services, air force crews and seating areas for travelling members of the press.

Air Force 1 also includes two galleys that can offer 100 meals on one advanced, multi-frequency radio for air-to-air, satellite communications, cutting-edge navigation, electronic and communications equipment.

The plane has six passenger bathrooms.

Inside a Qatar airplane

The interior of the Qatar airplane has a chic creamy white sofa, seats, rugs and photos of the plane show, with a more modern design.

According to Bloomberg, the artwork of late American sculptor Alexander Calder is featured along with custom-made type rugs, sycamores and wakappoo wooden fixtures.

The layout includes a master bedroom, guest bedroom, private hallway for executive residence, an upper deck lounge area with long leather sofas facing a large flat-screen TV, an extra lounge area with oversized leather seats, a private office and several galleries.

Amenities include electric window tints, hot and cold water in each sink and shower, digital entertainment and gaming systems, sophisticated sound, TV and broadband internet systems.

The plane has nine bathrooms for passengers, in addition to the bathroom in the bedroom suite, and another bathroom in the guest bedroom.
