Pope Leo releases hostages in search of a ceasefire in Gaza

0

Leo’s social media post follows a similar message from his predecessor, Pope Francis.

play

  • It was not the first time Leo had spoken about an international conflict. In his first Sunday message, he urged, “There is no more war.”
  • Leo’s May 18th inauguration began speculation about whether he would promote social justice, as did Frances.
  • Pope Francis repeatedly called for a ceasefire in Gaza, including a message from Easter Sunday a day before his death.

Pope Leo called for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all hostages in the general audience on May 28th.

“In the Gaza Strip, the fierce screams are increasingly reaching heaven from mothers and fathers who hold the bodies of dead children firmly,” Leo said at St. Peters Square in Vatican.

“For those in charge, I will renew the appeal. Stop the fight. I will release all hostages. I will fully respect humanitarian law.”

Leo took on the Pope Conclave earlier this month after being selected as the close-up Pope Conclave after Francis’ death on April 21.

It was not the first time Leo had spoken about an international conflict. In his first Sunday message, he urged Gaza ceasefire and the release of hostages, as well as “No More War,” the “real and lasting peace” in Ukraine.

On May 21, he tackled the Gaza crisis in his audience every Sunday, insisting on “end hostility,” and asked Israel to allow humanitarian aid to the war-torn and poor enclaves.

Israel subsequently lifted the blockade and returned humanitarian trickle to Gaza.

Leo’s May 18th inauguration began swirling speculation about whether he would promote social justice and immigration rights, as did Frances.

Leo, a native of Chicago, lived for most of his adult life in Peru, but was the first American-born pope.

Some of Leo’s past social media posts criticized the Catholic Vice President J.D. Vance and the Trump administration for his hard-hitting immigration policies. Leo met personally with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his wife Vance, the Vatican announced on May 19th.

Pope Francis Brand’s Gaza crisis is “serious and shameful”

Israel launched a siege of Gaza after extremists affiliated with Hamas, which controls the territory of the Israeli-Egypt border – on October 7, 2023, it overrunned the Israeli border, killing 1,200 people and taking around 250 hostages. Since then, more than 54,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, according to local health officials run by Hamas.

The ceasefire, which was mediated in mid-January, was crushed two months later. Since then, the Trump administration’s in-person meeting with Qatar’s Hamas has not been able to win a new deal.

On May 26, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 54 Palestinians evacuated at schools.

Pope Francis repeatedly called for a ceasefire in Gaza, repeating it in a message on Easter Sunday, a day before he passed away.

Some of his comments directly criticized Israel for the sacrifice of Palestinian civilians. In a message in January, he called the situation “very serious and shameful” and added, “We cannot accept civilian bombings.”

Throughout the conflict, Francis continued to intimate contact with the small Catholic community in Gaza, making nightly calls with the churches of numerous Muslim enclaves for the weeks leading up to his death.

Trader Joe’s currently offers its own version of the Byraldbai chocolate bar, but only a small portion of the price.

Bekkali added that he will buy Trader Joe’s Dupet again, and he is pleased that the grocery store chain has made more accessible “sweet snacks” that are more expensive for the masses.

The Department of Justice probes California more than transgender athlete policy

0

play

Palm Springs, Calif. — The U.S. Department of Justice has announced it will investigate whether California law violates Title IX after transgender high school athletes win track events to compete in the state’s athletics championships.

In a May 28 news release, the Department of Justice said it had sent legal notices to state officials and launched an investigation to determine whether Title IX is being violated by the California School Success and Opportunity Act.

State law requires students to be allowed to participate in sports teams and gender school programs such as competitions that match gender identity. Title IX is a federal law that prohibits gender-based discrimination in federal financially supported educational programs and activities, according to the Education Department.

The Justice Department said the letter was sent to California Attorney General Rob Bonta, state supervisors of Tony Thurmond and the Inter-Calif. Federation of Governance. In a clarification issued on May 28, the department said that the Jurupa Unified School District was “the target of this investigation” and that a notice regarding the Title IX probe was sent.

Jurupa Unified School District did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Desert Sun’s, part of the USA Today network. The California Department of Education cannot comment on the pending investigation, spokesman Scott Roark said.

“We continue to be committed to defending and supporting California law and all additional laws that ensure that the rights of students, including transgender students, are free from discrimination and harassment,” the state attorney general’s news agency said in a statement from the Desert Sun. “We will continue to closely monitor the Trump administration’s actions in this area.”

According to the Department of Justice, the investigation will determine whether California and its “advanced law, education, athletics organizations, and school districts are “engaged in patterns or practices of discrimination based on gender.”

Earlier this year, the Department of Education’s Civil Rights Office announced that it would be investigating inter-California student-athletes of transgender student-athletes participating in women and girls’ sports.

What did Trump say about trans student-athletes in California?

In a May 27th post on True Society, Trump said he plans to speak to California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

In this post, we mentioned the Southern Section Masters Meat of the Interstate of California. There, transgender athletes won the women’s triple jump and long jump competitions, and advanced to the set state finals on May 30th and 31st.

“Major federal funds will likely be permanently restrained,” Trump added. He didn’t specify which funding stream to target.

“In the meantime, I’ve ordered local governments to not allow people who have been transitioned to compete in the state finals, if necessary,” Trump said in the post. “This is a totally ridiculous situation!!”

USA Today reported in February that the executive order would direct the Department of Education to pursue “enforcement action” under Title IX. However, some legal experts have questioned whether the Trump administration’s interpretation of law will shake up in court.

The Justice Department said in a news release it had filed a statement of interest in supporting the lawsuit that challenged AB 1266, passed in 2013.

“The letter of legal notice was sent when the Department of Justice filed a statement of interest in federal courts in support of the lawsuit filed by a girl athlete, to promote proper interpretation of Title IX, ensure equal educational opportunities, and to prevent gender-based discrimination in federally funded schools and athletic programs,” the news release states.

California Interscholastic Federation has announced changes to future state championships

The California Interstate Federation announced on May 27 that it will be conducting a pilot entry process for the 2025 CIF State Athletics Championships in Clovis, a city in Fresno County.

“Under this pilot entry process, biological female student athletes who won one next qualifying mark of the section’s automatic qualifying entry at the CIF State Championships and did not achieve the CIF State AT-Large mark in the finals at the section championships have expanded their opportunities to participate in the 2025 CIF State Track and Field Championships.

The Inter-Calif. Federation of Governances did not directly respond to requests for comment on the investigation from the Department of Justice, but Desert Sun provided a follow-up statement on the pilot input process.

According to a news release, “biological female student athletes who have won the next qualifying mark will also advance to the final,” high jump, triple jump and long jump qualifying events at the 2025 CIF State Athletics Championships, if necessary.

Additionally, if necessary, biological female student athletes who have achieved a specific arrangement on the podium in high jump, triple jump and long jump events at the 2025 CIF State Athletics Championships will also be awarded medals for that location, with results reflected in the event’s record.

“CIF values all student-athletes and continues to support its mission to provide students with opportunities to belong, connect and compete while adhering to California law and education codes,” the news release added.

Trump administration cancels visas from Chinese students

0

play

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the US would “aggressively” revoke visas for Chinese students a few days after President Donald Trump requested the “names and countries” of Harvard international students.

“The US State Department will work with the Department of Homeland Security to actively revoke visas for Chinese students, including Chinese students and those studying in important fields,” Rubio said in a statement on May 28.

Rubio said the State Department will amend visa standards to “enhance the scrutiny of all future visa applications from the People’s Republic of China and Hong Kong.”

The State Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment on why Chinese students are targeted, which areas of study are considered important, and which visa numbers are expected to be revoked.

The Trump administration suspended scheduling new visa interviews for international students at U.S. embassies around the world, as the State Department prepares to expand its social media review of foreign students, according to an internal cable seen on May 27th.

The Trump administration also announced that it would cancel visas for all Harvard foreign students, but the action was soon blocked by a judge.

Executive authorities engaged in pro-Palestinian protests and criticism of Israel’s actions in the war in Gaza, moving to deport student visas and green cardholders to call their actions a threat to US foreign policy and accusing them of being pro-hammer.

Zelensky leaves Germany for the help of long-range weapons, but no Taurus missiles

0

Berlin
CNN

Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelensky leaves a new arm package of 5 billion euros ($5.7 billion) in Berlin as he is about to build his own weapons.

The package’s outstanding agreement announced on Wednesday in the German capital is centered around Germany, which funds the joint production of long-range missiles in Ukraine, which allows Kiev to hit targets deep in Russia.

The announcement also included more air defense systems, weapons, ammunition, “order and operation” capabilities and medical assistance.

One important aspect was missing. Before the press conference there was high hopes that Mertz would announce the transfer or approval of the use of the highly refined, long-range Taurus missiles in Germany, Ukraine.

Meltz was very strong in ensuring that Ukraine received a Taurus during the campaign against former Social Democrat Prime Minister Olaf Scholz. Scholz and the party remained very silent to send arms, but were worried that this would escalate the conflict even further.

Mertz’s own fledgling coalition with the Social Democrats (now a junior partner in the government) appears to have a major disagreement of its own with regard to Taurus.

The Christian Democrats, one of Meltz’s parties, tweeted Tuesday. “I have not yet united within the Union and have no political will to properly respond to the massive escalation of Russia with force and consistency,” he tweeted.

This system allows Ukraine to hit targets far beyond the shadows of British storms and the capabilities of American-made Atacam missiles.

However, on shoulders side by side with Berlin’s Zelensky, German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz said:

“This is the beginning of a new phase of industrial military cooperation between our countries with great potential,” Meltz added.

However, in line with the new dict decree from the Prime Minister and his new government, there was no concrete details of the deal. To ensure “strategic ambiguity,” it has made a conscious decision to withhold information on weapon exchanges.

Nevertheless, the deal represents a major step towards deepening cooperation between Germany and Ukraine, particularly in terms of arms procurement.

It also marked the third meeting in a few weeks between the two leaders, considering that Merz was only prime minister for three weeks.

The statement, which was released by the German Ministry of Defense, said it was “planning to invest more direct direct investments in future Ukraine production.”

Zelensky appeared to suggest a today’s agreement before departing Kiev for the German capital. In his evening speech on Tuesday, he said, “Attack drones, interceptors, cruise missiles, Ukrainian ballistic systems — these are the key elements. Everything needs to be manufactured.”

A statement from the German Ministry of Defense suggested that some of these systems could be closer to deployment. “A significant number of long-range weapons (ARs) should be produced within the year.” “The beginning of these systems could be deployed by the Ukrainian forces in just a few weeks.”

The Kremlin responded immediately. “This is a completely irresponsible position in Germany. Instead of trying to support a peaceful process, they are fueling the flames,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told CNN on Wednesday.

“They are simply trying to spark further wars, which increases indirect involvement in this military case,” he added.

Germany has long been one of Ukraine’s most generous supporters in terms of dedicated aid. According to figures from the Kiel Institute, Germany ranks second in the United States, and in both military and humanitarian support,

In Berlin, both Zelensky and Merz spoke about their frustration with Russia over peace talks.

Merz said: “I would like to thank the US president for the last few weeks. Moscow has been playing for time. The memorandum has not yet been shared,” the German leader added that the recent attacks across Ukraine “speak the language of the attack.”

What investors need to know now

0

play

All eyes are in nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) I’m preparing to report my revenue today. Why is the report so big? For several reasons. Nvidia controls the region that has driven stock market profits over the past two years, and investors are looking for clear signals for the future. I’m talking about artificial intelligence (AI). Some say this could be the next internet or phone from an innovation perspective.

Nvidia is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of AI chips, the tools that drive this whole revolution. Therefore, Nvidia’s words could set the tone not only for this AI giant, but also for other companies that operate within space.

This latest revenue report may also be extremely important as it is set against the backdrop of recent challenges, from President Trump’s import tariff plans to government restrictions on chip exports to China. These factors weighed Nvidia’s shares, falling 29% between early April and early April. Since then, stocks have rebound amid signs that import duties are not as severe as initially planned, and as of May 23, Nvidia’s inventory has fallen by around 2%.

So let’s think about what we should see for Nvidia and investors in this big moment in the future.

Nvidia’s total margin

First, it is important to note that NVIDIA has a track record of breaking analyst revenue estimates. So investors want to see if this will continue, especially as the company is still in the inception of Blackwell architecture. As new product rollouts are expensive, investors want to know if Nvidia has been able to keep its gross profit margins in a low 70% range, in line with previous forecasts. This indicates that sales continue to be profitable.

Nvidia customers have provided bright news in recent revenue reports, from meta platforms to alphabet, saying they are sticking to their capital expenditure plans for the year. Meta increased spending forecasts. Now, when Nvidia reports, it is key to hear relevant comments on demand to ensure that these spending plans actually benefit Nvidia. These customers are likely to continue investing in Nvidia products and services, but there are competitors and Nvidia customers may be considered their competitors themselves.

Another point to note is the commentary on exports to China. Nvidia previously said it would receive a $5.5 billion bill in quarter related to H20 chips designed for the Chinese market. The US has recently stopped selling its products and says Nvidia requires an export license.

Report on Nvidia’s efforts in China

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Nvidia is considering other ways to maintain its presence in the Chinese market, which accounts for 13% of its revenue in the recent fiscal year. For example, Nvidia is planning to launch a new chip for China, and cites a source familiar with the project, reporting that mass production could begin as early as next month.

Finally, Nvidia, which announced a new investment in manufacturing in the US a few weeks ago, may provide details about its efforts. Trump’s tariffs have not yet been applied to electronic devices, but the president has said he will be particularly employed on these types of products. Nvidia generally relied on production in Taiwan, but now it aims to bring this back to more and more homes. It is important to see how these movements affect Nvidia’s cost structure, and whether they are impacted in the short term and whether they can feel any further impact. Nvidia says two US facilities should start to increase within a year to 15 months.

Nvidia has proven itself a pioneer for the tech industry, so its revenue report can offer not only stocks, but also stocks in the direction of other tech players this week. While this revenue report is a big moment, investors should remember that they provide short-term photos of both Nvidia and the general AI market environment. And that means whether Nvidia is surprised upside down. You can win by holding this top AI player and other high quality technology stocks for a long time.

After the glacier collapsed, mud and rock burials evacuated a Swiss village, leaving one missing

0

Geneva, Switzerland
Reuters

A huge mass of glaciers in the Swiss Alps broke down on Wednesday afternoon, causing floods of rocks, rocks and rocks, allowing parts of the mountain village to be filled.

One person is currently missing, officials said.

Drone footage broadcast by Swiss National Broadcasting Station SRF showed a vast plain of mud and soil that completely covers the village of Bratten, the river that flows through it, and some of the wooded sides of the surrounding valley.

“An incredible amount of material thundered through the valley,” said Matthias Ebener, a spokesman for the local government in the Valley’s southwest Canton.

One person was missing, Ebener said.

The tile bleeds of the crushed wooden building could be seen on the side of a giant chunk of Earth in drone footage.

On Sunday, May 18th, 2025, the village of Bratten was buried in rocks and mud.
Bratten, Switzerland, Wednesday, May 28th, 2025.

After geologists identified the risk of an imminent avalanche of rocks and ice from above, the Bratten buildings and infrastructure, which evacuated May 19, were heavily hit by rock slips, Ebener said.

The SRF said the house was destroyed in a village in the Roatscental Valley in southern Switzerland.

Swiss President Karin Keller Sutter has expressed solidarity with locals as he warned the people of emergency services that were dangerous and urged them to close main roads to the valley.

“It’s terrible to lose your home,” Keller Sutter said in X.

Authorities have been monitoring the slopes above Bratten since ordering residents to leave their homes.

The first ever average social security check to break $2,000

0

The average monthly check for retired workers is on track to surpass unseen psychologically important levels in 90 years.

play

When the Social Security Act was signed into law in 1935, its purpose was to provide a financial foundation for the American aging workforce. 90 years later, this mission is still fulfilled, with the added bonus of providing protection to the deceased disabled and survivors.

Based on an analysis from the Centre on Budget and Policy Priorities, Social Security was responsible for separating 22 million people from poverty in 2023. This is more than any other social program. Nearly three-quarters of these 22 million people were over 65 years old.

For most retired workers’ beneficiaries, their monthly payments are more than just income, and that is necessary. According to a 23-year survey by Gallup, Social Security income helps 8-9 out of 10 retirees cover at least some of the costs.

Next week, when the calendar officially flips in June, Social Security retirees’ benefits do something that has never been seen in the program’s 90-year history.

Who is ready to create social security history?

Each month, the Social Security Agency (SSA) publishes a “monthly statistical snapshot” that is complicatedly broken down where profits paid the previous month ended.

For example, a statistical snapshot in April shows that $12.8736 billion in traditional Social Security benefits were kicked out to 69,378 million. Retired workers account for nearly 76% (52.587 million) of all beneficiaries, with most of the remaining members being disabled (7.156 million) and survivor beneficiaries (5.841 million). If you are wondering why these three numbers don’t reach a maximum of 69.378 million, it is because your spouse, children, or other direct relatives are eligible for benefits on behalf of a retired, disabled, or deceased worker.

In addition to splitting the number of beneficiaries who received payments, Social Security monthly snapshots provide the average monthly profit for each category.

Average payments across all beneficiaries were $1,855.57 in April. But just a week away from making history is the average monthly profit for retired workers.

Last month, beneficiaries of retired workers took home an average check of $1,999.97. However, this average monthly payment is not static.

Each month, new beneficiaries enter the pool to receive their first monthly Social Security check, and some beneficiaries die. Additionally, coupled with the impact of years of annual cost-of-living adjustments (COLA) the nominal wages paid to long-term working Americans directly affect the average monthly take-away pay for retired beneficiaries.

These factors ensure that average retired workers’ profits are constantly rising month by month, based on more than a decade of published SSA statistical snapshots. Sometimes these increases are notable, such as from a jump of $1,980.86 from the average payment for retired workers in February 2025 to $1,999.97 just two months later. This $19.11 increase represents a significant increase in workers applying for benefits, potentially over just two months.

More often, average retired workers’ payments increase from $1 to $2 per month per month, not including the month each year when Colas was in place.

Hoping that trend remains the same, the profits of average Social Security retired workers in May will surpass $2,000 for the first time in history, based on a soon-to-be reported June statistical snapshot. This is a psychologically important person for a program that serves as the financial foundation for many older workers.

Social Security dollars aren’t what they used to be

However, just because Social Security makes history, it is not recommended to unleash champagne. While nominal monthly payments for retirees continue to rise, they do so at a much slower rate than the inflationary pressures that retirees have been fighting for a quarter-century.

Since 1975, the consumer price index for urban wage workers and administrative workers (CPI-W) has become a social security inflation measure to eliminate adjustments to annual living expenses. With over 200 spending categories, all of which have their own weighting, this index can be narrowed down to a single number at the end of the month.

Everything sounds kosher on paper, but CPI-W didn’t benefit the retirees.

As its full name suggests, CPI-W focuses on the spending habits of “urban wage workers and administrative workers.” These are usually working-age people who do not receive Social Security benefits.

More importantly, working-age people and retirees tend to spend money very different. The former spends more on education, apparel and transportation, but older people spend a higher monthly budget on shelters and health services than typical working Americans. The overwhelming majority of Social Security beneficiaries are over 62 years old, but the inflation index used to calculate annual COLAS does not properly weight shelters and health services to suit their needs.

result? According to an analysis by the Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a senior nonpartisan advocacy group, in May 2023, the purchasing power of Social Security Dollar fell 36% from January 2000 to February 2023. A recent analysis from TSCL has lost recent purchase power for social security income from 2010 to July 2024.

While benefits for social security retirees go beyond psychological barriers, retirees often fail to see the purchasing power of Social Security income over time, which is not a blessing.

The mask is pivoting from DC and Doge’s mistakes. US News

0

Elon Musk really, and really hopes investors know that they’re leaving Washington, DC.

In a series of interviews and social media posts this week, Musk criticized Donald Trump’s marquee tax bill, highlighting his key recommendations for SpaceX, Tesla and artificial intelligence company Xai. The wealthiest person in the world claimed he was back to working 24 hours a day at his company.

Musk has been telegraphing pivots into his business for several months, but in his recent appearances he has repeatedly distanced himself from the unpopular stints in Washington, declaring that his only new focus is his technological empire. It’s a dramatic turn for Musk, who spent most of the last year constantly on the Trump side, promoting far-right ideology online, appeared on the stage at political rallies and poured hundreds of millions of dollars into the Republican Party.

This shift that comes amidst the public and investor backlash against Musk’s political ambitions was revealed this week as SpaceX began and controlled control of the Starship prototype rocket. Musk has made a series of media appearances for influencers from The Washington Post, ARS Technica, CBS News Sunday Morning and YouTube Aerospace. All of these were characterized by emphasizing his dedication to the company and attempting to explain the shortcomings of being criticized by the “government’s efficiency sector.”

“The situation with federal bureaucracy is much worse than I noticed,” Musk told the Washington Post Tuesday. “I thought there was a problem, but to say the least, I’m sure it’s a tough fight to improve things in DC.”

Musk further said Doge had been transformed into a “flogger boy” who was criticised for what was wrong under the Trump administration. On Ars Technica, Musk admitted: “I think I probably spent a bit of time in politics.”

Defeating Trump’s tax bill

The shift from Trump’s self-appointed “first buddy” to the familiar territory of space travel and technology is that Doge faces many legal challenges and remains widely unpopular.

Musk has successfully sown allies in the government and helped Gatt regulators oversee his company, but Doge’s central promise to cut $200 million worth of fraud and waste was a clear failure. While devastating government services, humanitarian aid and the federal workforce, Doge cuts have been little when it comes to actual budget savings. Much of the savings claimed in the “receipt wall” turned out to be false, including the cancellation of a $8 billion contract, which was actually a $8 million contract.

Musk’s answer to Doge’s shortcomings appears to hold his familiar enemies, politicians and bureaucrats, accountable. But doing so has made him more and more divided with the Republican Party, but has not led to criticism in particular of Trump himself.

Musk’s split with Congressional Republicans was the toughest on X, the social media platform he owns. Musk’s post leaned entirely towards the narrative that Doge’s actions have been successful in reducing waste, but Congress has hampered its activities through actions such as approving Trump’s tax bill, which is expected to add 2.3TN to the deficit.

“Disappointing at the disappointment of seeing the massive spending bill that will increase the budget deficit, damaging the work the Doge team is doing.”

Now, Musk claims its focus is on saving humanity through technologies such as self-driving cars, interplanetary rockets and humanoid robots.

“We have come to the apparent conclusion that accelerating GDP growth is essential,” Musk posted on Friday in response to a thread calling the GOP bill “disastrous.” “Doge does an amazing job postponing the US bankruptcy date, but the wealth of government means that only radical improvements in productivity can save our country.”

In another exchange, he answered a conversation between two users with a large follower who routinely praised his leadership and business insights.

“I think Elon recognizes that despite the promises made by the new administration and Republican-controlled Congress, and all the campaign platforms they have implemented, despite the government’s current incentive structure and the special interests that have been established, it is almost impossible to enact meaningful long-term changes to address many of the major issues we face.

Skip past newsletter promotions

“Doge did an incredible job, but GOP actually failed to implement the cut,” replied another prominent Musk Booster.

“Yes (sighs),” Musk replied to the thread.

Masks return to selling the future

What became clear throughout the era of masks in Washington was that the public hadn’t seen him, and that many of the Trump administration didn’t like to work with him. Many polls have shown that his overall popularity has declined, even if people support the premise of reducing government inefficiency. Musk’s prominent involvement in the Wisconsin Supreme Court elections has strengthened his opposition to his influence, and international demonstrations have made him the face of the administration. Musk also discovered that he has few friends within the Trump administration. Reports of violent clashes with senior officials and some Republican political operatives warning that his brand has become too toxic to the party.

The pushback to the mask has affected his business, with Tesla sales plummeting and the company’s board of directors reportedly beginning to consider replacing him as CEO. Musk has denied these claims, but in recent weeks he has reaffirmed his dedication to leading the business very loudly.

“I’m going back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in meetings/servers/factory rooms,” he posted on Saturday. “I have to be very focused on 𝕏/Xai and Tesla (and next week’s spacecraft launch) as critical technology is rolling out.”

A few weeks ago, Musk’s post on X was a non-dead-end stream of Fringe’s theory of demands on the Democrats, immigration and the justice system, but his online output has also changed. His post this week focuses on SpaceX’s ambitions to go to Mars and Tesla’s self-driving car programme, and has been stopped occasionally to encourage attacks on the “awakening mind virus” or feud with his hometown South African government.

As Musk attempted to move away from full-time politics and regain investor trust, he doubled his habit of grand predicting how his technology would change the world. Reflecting a long list of previous claims that have missed deadlines and so far failed to make it, he has promoted new efforts like Tesla’s humanoid robots as important to the future of civilization.

“When you get a humanoid robot, the real economic output possibilities are incredible. It’s truly endless,” Musk said on the stage at the Saudi Arabian Investment Forum on May 13th. “Potentially, we can have an economy ten times the size of the world economy.

Rather than just staying in a year of missed targets and a year of intense backlash, masks are back to selling a future where anything can be done.

Elon Musk this week criticised President Donald Trump’s President Megaville, saying the division he led was unfairly criticized.

Musk has reduced his work to lead the government’s efficiency to destroy the government for the past month following a massive loss of profits from his electric car company Tesla. Musk, the world’s wealthiest man and Republican donor who supported Bankroll Trump’s 2024 campaign, has become a polarised figure in Trump’s White House.

After rising at fierce speed to become Trump’s right handman in the administration’s first 100 days, the presence of masks in DC has declined. He says he intends to significantly cut his political spending in future elections in order to bring his attention back to his business empire. His comments this week show the latest fractures of what was a whirlwind political partnership between the billionaire and the Republican president.

In an interview with CBS Sunday morning released on May 27th, Musk criticized Trump’s massive tax and spending bills and said he was “disappointed” to see it.

“Doge is just a whipping boy for everything,” Musk said in another interview with the Washington Post, published the same day. “So something bad will happen everywhere and we’ll blame it if it had nothing to do with it.”

This is a short timeline of key stages in pair relationships and Musk’s involvement in the trajectory of Trump over the past year.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk: The Timeline of the Pair Relationship

July 13, 2024: On the same day, Trump was shot dead in an attempted assassination at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and Musk has officially supported him for the president. Billionaires’ donations to Trump’s reelection efforts ultimately exceeded $1.5 billion.

September 3, 2024: Trump at the time said that if he wins the November 5 election, he would establish a Musk-led government efficiency committee.

October 5, 2024: Musk joins Trump on stage at a rally at a location at an attempted assassination site in Pennsylvania.

November 5th, 2024: Musk spends election night in Trump’s Mar Lago when Republicans win the 2024 presidential election over Kamala Harris.

November 12, 2024: Trump has announced that Musk and Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will lead a new “government efficiency,” also known as “Doge,” with an obligation to reduce federal spending, waste and regulations.

January 20, 2025: Musk will attend Trump’s inauguration in Washington, DC and give a speech at one of the events. He attracted the controversy after offering a one-arm salute that some people said, which appears to resemble Nazi-style gestures. “It’s thanks to you that the future of civilization is guaranteed,” Musk said before gestured.

February 11, 2025: Musk visits the oval office with his young son X, and signs an executive order by which Mark Trump attempts to significantly reduce the size of the government through “massive cuts” of the federal workforce.

February 20, 2025: Musk appears in the Conservative Political Action Council (CPAC) wielding a talented, sparkly chainsaw from the Argentine president, and uses it as a prop to represent his role and the role of “slashing” government spending.

March 4, 2025: Trump screams at Musk in his joint speech to Congress, praises his work at Doge. “He’s working very hard,” the president said during his speech.

April 30, 2025: Trump’s Cabinet Secretary applauds Musk as Tesla CEO attended his final cabinet meeting as he took the back seat from Doge.

May 1, 2025: In his most extensive commentary on the reporter’s room since he launched Doge, Musk has debated a setback from the agency. The White House classifies him as a “special government employee,” and holds the title of senior advisor to the president, allowing him to find employment on 130 calendar days a year.

May 27, 2025: Musk criticised Trump’s central legislative agenda, saying in an interview with CBS News he was “disappointed” with the president’s so-called “big beautiful bill,” and in an interview with the Washington Post, Doge said he became “a whip boy for everything.”

Hoda Kotb reveals his daughter’s type 1 diabetes diagnosis

Hoda Kotb is publishing about her daughter’s health struggle. She revealed that she contributed to her decision to withdraw from the show “today.”

On May 28, KOTB became a guest on “Today” and returned to the old stomping grounds to co-host the fourth hour of the program with Jenna Bush Hager. During her conversation with Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, she discussed the fact that her 6-year-old daughter’s hopes have type 1 diabetes.

“You just get a priority check in your life,” she said. “I can be here and sweating what’s going on with hope in the morning and night. Otherwise I can be there and feel the relief I can see (she).”

Guthrie said this is a “burden” for KOTB to carry while working on “today.”

Speaking to Today.com, Kotb confirmed that her daughter’s health was “undetectedly weighing on” her decision to leave the “Today” show, but she said that the main reason for spending more time with her kids. Kotb told People Magazine that Hope had received “Constry Care” and had previously won 4-5 shots a day.

“I really needed to be here to watch over her,” Kotb told people. “So whenever she needs something and it can happen again and again, I’m up – I’m up. But I never want to grow up and say, ‘Oh, my mother has quit her job from (my).’ That wasn’t the only thing, but cumulatively, it was part of that decision. ”

Type 1 diabetes occurs when the pancreas has little or no insulin, and treatment is “directed towards controlling the amount of sugar in the blood using insulin, diet and lifestyle to prevent complications.”

While co-hosting “Today with Jenna and her friends,” Kotb shared that she began to feel “out of reach” to help her hope if her daughter needed her.

“That was one of many reasons why I decided it was time for me to do something different,” Kotb said. “There’s something about knowing you can make your child a mother right there. I don’t worry now because I see her. I’m not thinking about it here.”

KOTB announced its exit from the “Today’s” show in September and officially signed off in January. Hager has since hosted the show’s fourth hour with a series of guest hosts, and on May 28, Kotb told Hager that he was “literally crushing it.”

“I’ve seen you every day,” Kotb said. “You were incredible and I hope you’re proud of yourself.”

Hoda Kotb denies rumors that will replace Kelly Clarkson

While talking to Guthrie and Melvin, Kotobu said that there was a “strange rush of emotions” back to the “today” show, “it’s a very strange feeling to know that something remains is the right thing to do.”

Kotb also denied claims to take over Kelly Clarkson on the singer’s talk show, saying, “If I’m back on TV, do you know where I’ll be back?”

This “destroys scientific research”: 16 states suing Trump administration over National Science Foundation directives

CNN

The US state, which is primarily managed by Democrats by 16 attorney generals, filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration on Wednesday, claiming that some of the federal government’s attempts to hamper the National Science Foundation’s research program were illegal.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court Wednesday afternoon, asks judges to suspend research spending to NSF policy, which has suspended millions of dollars worth of research.

The move came after the NSF announced in April that it abolished hundreds of grants (mainly related to research on diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility (DEIA) and misinformation). So far, cancellations have been rising since then, affecting a total of 1,753 grants worth around $1.4 billion in a number of research areas so far, according to NSF data.

Neither the National Science Foundation nor the White House responded to requests for comment.

The agency also announced a new policy in May that would increase the amount researchers could spend on “indirect costs.” This includes 15% operating costs, including laboratory, safety programs and equipment use. (CAP is currently pending until June 13th.

The Attorney General argues that such policies “will endanger national security, the economy and public health and “salvage millions of dollars for groundbreaking scientific research across the country,” according to a news release from Letia James, who is in tandem with Hawaii Attorney General Anne Lopez.

The coalition lawsuit also argues that the Trump administration’s efforts to shut down research related to diversity is illegal. According to a news release from James’ office, NSF says “Congress is mandating to improve diversity in the STEM field.” “Congress has directed in law that the ‘core strategy’ of the NSF’s work must be to increase participation of those who have historically been excluded from the STEM occupation. ”

Federal law says the National Science Foundation should work to increase “women and individual participation from underrepresented groups in STEM.”

The new lawsuit argues that the recent NSF directive “violates the Administrative Procedure Act and the Constitution” by changing the NSF policy illegally and disregarding Congress’ intentions about how the NSF works, according to a news release. “The lawsuit requires that court orders awarding the NSF’s new policies are illegal and prevent them from being implemented.”

The National Science Foundation is a $9 billion institution responsible for advancing discovery across the scientific spectrum, primarily by assessing the scientific merits of grant requests and spending it primarily on universities and other research institutions.

Agency staff have been asked to comply with the funding request in order to comply with Trump’s executive order that attempted to dismantle DEIA-related activities and the “free speech” directive that argues that efforts to combat misinformation can be used to “infringe on the constitutionally protected rights of American citizens across the United States.”

Many researchers, stakeholders and agencies working with the NSF have condemned the new policy.

For example, the Federation of Associations of Behavior and Brain Sciences in an April 24 statement said that the Trump administration’s direction is “washing precious time and resources in the middle of a political tug of war.”

Former NSF director Seturaman Panchanathan, who was tapped to lead the agency during Trump’s first term, also resigned in late April.

Former NSF director Seturaman Panchanashan testified at a Senate Commerce, Science and Transport Hearing in October 2023 to examine the implementation and oversight of chips and science in Washington, DC.

“I think they feel they feel that it’s time to advance the agency’s important mission and hand the baton over to new leadership,” Panchanasan said on April 24 in a farewell statement provided to CNN by an agency spokesman.

The White House has proposed to wipe out NSF’s 55% budget cuts, and agents could face layoffs of wipeouts.

The state coalition calling for the Trump administration over changes to the NSF includes New York, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Wisconsin and Washington.

The lawsuit reflects another filed May 5th with 19 states and Washington, D.C. against the Trump administration as it allegedly “gets a wrecking ball with the Department of Health and Human Services.”

Federal employees, elected officials and supporters gathered outside the Department of Health and Human Services on February 19 in Washington, D.C. to protest workforce cuts.

In late March, the Trump administration announced plans to cut discretionary federal health costs and transform several health agencies. The restructuring plan involves integrating 28 HHS institutions into 15 new divisions, including the healthy American administration.

The lawsuit over the HHS change argues that the effects of the restructuring are already harmful and will lead to the closure of HHS offices in several localities that serve low-income families, children with disabilities, homeless people, and young people experiencing kindergarten development programs.

Hundreds of hungry Palestinians in fatal incidents, United Nations agency says

0

CNN

A hungry Palestinian crowd broke into a UN warehouse in central Gaza on Wednesday, resulting in at least two deaths and multiple injuries as starvation worsened on the strip.

“The horde of hungry people have invaded the Al-Gafari warehouse at Dale Al-Barah, central Gaza, seeking pre-located food supplies for distribution,” the World Food Programme (WFP) said. “The initial reports show that two people have been killed and several have been injured in the tragic incident.”

It is unknown what caused the death and injury. WFP said it was working to verify the situation accurately, but emphasized that the tragedy reflects “surprising degradation conditions of the ground” directly linked to aid blockades.

Several videos and photos CNN saw show hundreds of people in the warehouse, grabbing any food they can find. The bloody face is seen in the photo while clenching a bag of flour.

Another video showed hundreds of people outside the warehouse carrying bags of what looked like flour, just as the shooting echoed through the background.

The incident at the WFP warehouse highlighted the accelerated humanitarian disaster in the besieged enclave. The 11-week Israeli lockdown on humanitarian aid has pushed Gaza’s population of more than 2 million Palestinians to starve, resuming the first reopening of humanitarian aid in enclaves that were besieged last week.

“The humanitarian needs have gone out of control after 80 days of complete lockdown of all food aid and other aid to Gaza,” the UN agency said.

The warehouse contains important stocks containing flour intended for a systematic distribution of aid, and is now compromised by despair.

“WFP has consistently warned of the incredible degradation on the ground and the risks placed on the risks imposed by hungry people with hopeless support,” he said.

“Gaza needs immediate scale-up of food aid, which is the only way to reassure people that they don’t starve,” he added.

Palestinians carry bags of flour after raiding the UN World Food Program warehouse in central Gaza on May 28th.

The UNRWA Public Relations Office in Gaza called it an “unfortunate incident” at the WFP warehouse, saying, “Sadly, once again, people are being forced to take desperate steps as a result of the ongoing Israeli lockdown on food and supplies invasion into the Gaza Strip.”

Wednesday’s loot comes the day after chaos broke out at a Gaza aid distribution site run by a controversial US support group as thousands of desperate Palestinians rushed to receive food supplies.

Videos from the distribution site of Tel al Sultan, run by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), appeared to rush the facility to show massive crowds, demolish parts of the fencing and climb barriers designed to control the flow of the crowd.

Palestinian health officials said one person was shot dead and 48 people were injured in the incident on Tuesday.

Security sources said the US security contractor on the ground did not fire the shots and that operation will resume at the site on Wednesday. The Israeli Defense Force said their troops fired warning shots in areas outside the compound, and the situation was controlled. They refused to carry out the air fire towards the property.

Wednesday marked 600 days of Israeli war against Hamas following the fatal attack on October 7th, with military operations showing no signs of decline despite rising international condemnations, including many of Israeli allies.

Speaking to CNN from Deial Al Bhara in central Gaza, Abu Amur said, “600 days passed us just like we did in 600.” Palestinians said they fear death from Israel’s strike or hunger.

“Hunger is killing us,” Abu Amr said. He called on the United States to end Israeli support and mediate the end of the war. “We call on America and call on all Western countries to stand with us,” he said.

More than 54,000 Gazaans have been killed since the Israeli war on the enclave began 600 days ago, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The ministry does not distinguish between civilians and extremists.

The two-month ceasefire in Gaza, which began in late January, collapsed on March 18th as Israel renewed its artillery fire. Israeli strikes have since killed more than 3,900 Palestinians, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Aziz El-Kahnoot, another displaced person in Deir Al-Balah, said “the smell of death has not left us for 600 days,” adding that Gaza civilians have been “hostages” as the war intensifies.

Israel is expected to occupy 75% of Gaza within two months as part of a new attack on the besieged territory, Israeli military officials told CNN earlier this week.

If implemented, the plan will force over two million Palestinians into a quarter of the already determined coastal enclave, surrounded by almost all flanks by Israeli forces. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the entire population will be evacuated to southern Gaza earlier this month.

Sigrid Karg, interim UN special coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, said on Wednesday that the Gaza crisis had plunged civilians into the “deep by” and called on Israel to “stop a catastrophic strike on civilian livelihoods and infrastructure.”

“The entire population of Gaza faces the risk of hunger,” Kaag warned during the briefing, saying that the limited aid allowed for the enclave “is comparable to a lifeboat after the ship sinks.

Even when Trump is holding back sales in China, Nvidia beats Wall Street expectations | Technology

0

Nvidia beat Wall Street expectations in its quarterly revenue report on Wednesday, marking another revenue with a string of financial victories for the computer hardware giant. Revenue for the quarter ended in April was $44.1 billion, up 69% from the previous year.

The company exceeded the forecast of an investor with revenue of $43.3 billion. Adjusted earnings per share were $0.81, under investors’ expectations for adjusted earnings per share of 88 cents. The company also reported $39.1 billion in data center revenue, up 73% from the previous year.

The company is positive for the AI business, both with cutting-edge hardware and the new regulatory headwinds it faces, and investors are looking closely.

“Nvidia has once again beaten expectations, but in a market where this dominance is becoming more difficult,” said Jacob Bourne, an analyst at Emarketer. China’s export restrictions underscore immediate pressure from geopolitical headwinds, but Nvidia faces competitive pressures as AMD acquires position based on cost-effectiveness metrics for certain AI workloads. ”

According to Wedbush Securities Analysts, there is no more important company for “market and global investor sentiment” to “market and global investor sentiment”.

“The global demand for Nvidia’s AI infrastructure is extremely strong,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement. “Nations around the world recognize AI as a critical infrastructure like electricity and the Internet, and Nvidia stands at the heart of this deep transformation.”

The chipmaker said it is expected to see $45 billion in the second quarter of 2026.

Nvidia’s quarterly reports over the past year show explosive growth. The company faces increased pressure from the US. Donald Trump’s April announcement that the administration had tightened its computer chip export rules effectively banned NVIDIA from selling its main source of revenue, the H20 AI chip to China. “H20 products were primarily designed for the Chinese market,” reads the company’s first quarter revenue report.

In a recent SEC filing, the company revealed that the change would cost the company $5.5 billion. The company said it saw just $4.6 billion in claims in the first quarter “in relation to H20 excess inventory and purchase obligations and in connection with purchase obligations.” In an interview with Ben Thompson, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the move was “deeply painful” and could result in $1.5 billion in revenue losses. In just the first quarter, the company “didn’t be able to add $2.5 billion in revenue from H20.”

Skip past newsletter promotions

“In history, we have never written off that much inventory,” Huang said. “(n) I’m just losing $5.5 billion – we’ve written down $5.5 billion – we’ve left $15 billion in sales and maybe… $3 billion worth of taxes.”

The tightening rules for chip export rules come when the China Commission within the US Congress announced that it was asking Nvidia for a response on how its chips powered Deepseek, an AI company that matches the Chinese breakthrough AI model, particularly the products of the same non-calculating US companies. The committee in a new report claims that China-based Deepseek was “trained to secretly leak American user data to the Chinese Communist Party, manipulate information consistent with CCP propaganda, and used substances illegally obtained from the company.”

Analysts explain what this means over the next few quarters.

“We’ve been working hard to get the better of our customers,” said Alvin Nguyen, senior analyst at Forrester.

Analysts had seen how well the company exceeded investors’ expectations in previous quarters and were trying to make sure the considerations were more tame, according to a memo from Wedbush Securities analysts.

“This quarter is about the ability to maintain strong numbers and guidance despite China’s lockdown,” reads the memo. “Investors are focusing on Jensen’s medium-term and long-term outlook as the situation in China could change rapidly in response to ongoing US/China trade negotiations.”

The company’s operations in China are still in the air, but analysts seem to be taking heartfelt care of the recent demand for Nvidia chips in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Nvidia is one of the beneficiaries of the AI wind drop that stemmed from Trump’s visit to the region, resulting in Saudi Arabia winning $600 million for US companies. Nvidia said it would sell hundreds of thousands of AI chips to Saudi Arabia, including a sovereign-funded startup from Saudi Arabia, which includes 18,000 of its latest chips.

Donald Trump nominates personal lawyer Emil Bove as federal judge

0

play

President Donald Trump has appointed Emil Bove, one of his former criminal defense lawyers, to serve as a judge for the federal court of appeals.

“Emile is smart, tough and everyone respects,” Trump wrote in a post about True Society. “He will end the weaponization of justice, restore the rule of law, do other things that are necessary, and make America great again.”

Bove is currently the Associate Deputy Attorney General, a position appointed by Trump. With Bove being the third official, the Justice Department is taking controversial steps to implement Trump’s priorities on agencies, including purge staff.

Bove issued a memo instructing prosecutors to investigate state or local officials that would prevent President Donald Trump from cracking down on immigration. He also ordered prosecutors in the Southern District of New York to stop accusing bribery against New York Mayor Eric Adams. Rather than carrying out the order, American lawyer Daniel Sussone resigned, and other DOJ officials also left.

Trump has appointed at least four former lawyers to high-level government positions, including Attorney General Pam Bondy and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and was a former New York prosecutor.

If confirmed in a Philadelphia-based Third Circuit post, he will be in a lifetime tenure.

Bove represented Trump in his federal criminal trial, where Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts of forgerying business records in order to hide his quiet money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

Trump’s move to set up close allies on the federal bench as he and his allies issued rulings that blocked some of his unprecedented offensive powers and attacked federal judges.

Two Brazilian nuns have become the virus after dropping an improvised beatbox and dance session on a Catholic TV show.

The sisters Marizele Cassiano and Marisa de Paula, members of the “Copiosa Redenção” congregation, were talking about a career retreat on the Pai Eterino – Eternal Father – TV channel in Brazil.

The duo rose to their feet and began a routine with singing, beatboxing and dancing moves.

Presenter Deacon Giovani Bastos then joined in and adapted to their movements with performances seen on social media by millions of people on social media in Brazil and abroad.

“The moment was very spontaneous. She dances when she starts to beat with her sister Marisa. And because I was used to singing, beatboxing, it was very simple for us, spontaneous, and it was very surprising to see that it became a virus outside of Brazil.”

The sisters are dedicated to young people suffering from drug addiction. They say music is a powerful tool to help people in need.

“Beatboxing, dance and song itself are the tools God uses to reach the hearts of those who work.

Sister Marisa doesn’t have an Instagram account, but the Marisel sisters have surpassed 100,000 followers since Beatbox went viral.

The sisters also work as professional promoters and organize retreats for women interested in pursuing a religious career.

Transportation Department to terminate active actions in contracts

The Trump administration has agreed to end the use of race or gender of the U.S. Transportation Agency when awarding funds for highways and transport projects.

play

  • The Department of Transport said in a court application it agreed that “the program’s use of race- and gender-based presumptions is unconstitutional.”
  • The department previously defended the policy as an attempt to improve past discrimination, but said it had reassessed its position in light of factors, including a 2023 Supreme Court decision.

The Trump administration said Wednesday it agreed to end race or gender considerations at the U.S. Transportation Agency when awarding billions of dollars on federal highways and funding for transportation projects traded for underprivileged small businesses.

A Kentucky September judge determined that the federal program, enacted in 1983, treated racial minorities and women-owned businesses as presumably disadvantaged as eligible for such funding.

The Department of Transport said in a court application it agreed that “the program’s use of race- and gender-based presumptions is unconstitutional.”

The department previously defended the policy as seeking to improve past discrimination, but said it had reassessed its position in light of factors including a Supreme Court decision in a 2023 positive action case.

US District Judge Gregory Van Teitenfe in Frankfort, Kentucky, appointee of former Republican President George W. Bush, said the federal government cannot classify people in ways that violate the principles of equal protection in the U.S. Constitution.

He relied in part on a U.S. Supreme Court decision last year, which effectively banned the policy of positive action that has long been used in university admissions to increase the number of black, Hispanic and other underrepresented minority students on American campuses.

The program was reauthorized in 2021 through the Signature Infrastructure Investment and Employment Act by then President Joe Biden.

Aaron Rodgers’s Relationship: Danica Patrick discusses farewell

0

play

Aaron Rodgers is used to ugly divisions.

This was the well-known divorce between the quarterback and the Green Bay Packers in the spring of 2023. History was repeated earlier this year when the New York Jets decided to go their separate ways.

These issues usually remain limited to field events, but this time Rogers is away from it.

Former IndyCar and NASCAR driver Danica Patrick became famous for dating Rogers from 2018 to 2020, but now he’s talking about his relationship with the four-time NFL MVP.

Appearing on the “Sage Steele Show” podcast, Patrick said breaking up with Rogers was the most painful thing she’d ever had in her life.

“It was sudden,” Patrick said. “It felt like my life, when you live with someone, it was your whole life. It’s your dentist’s appointment. It’s your hairstyle, your clothes. It’s like your mailing address. It seems like everything. And since the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive,

Patrick adds, “It all torn into bits,” citing a complete lack of confidence and belief in simple things about himself.

“He’s leaving a blood mark,” Patrick said. “I don’t think I’m saying too much, you know what will crush the earth. There was enough there.”

For race car drivers, the end of that relationship was a gift offering new opportunities.

“It gave me the biggest gift, the biggest gift that was my own,” Patrick said. “You know it gave me the greatest gift of how much I need to show up for myself and take care of myself.”

Steele asked if these feelings existed at this point or if they were the result of hindsight. Patrick pointed out that it is her nature to try and get things to work while doing difficult things.

“I’m just saying it was made for the hard thing,” Patrick said he hopes it works at first and doesn’t give up. “I can handle difficult things. I just thought it was difficult. My nature is to work harder and do more.”

She went on to say that there is no shame or regret at her end, adding that it is all part of the path, and learned lessons to become who you are.

Patrick is not the first person to advance on the difficulties in his relationship with Rogers. Actress Shailene Woodley, who previously worked as a quarterback, detailed her time with Rogers in an interview with Outside Magazine in 2024.

Woodley called the relationship “toxic situations” and said he felt like he had lost his soul, self, happiness and joy.

“I don’t share much about my relationship with Aaron, and it always makes me cry,” Woodley told the magazine. “That wasn’t right, but it was beautiful.”

Rogers cites personal reasons for his decision to remain a free agent now, but training camp is soon approaching. The quarterback still doesn’t have a team, despite the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers were believed to be his final destination.

But in this relationship it’s the Steelers who sign up for everything that comes with it. Time will tell if Rogers’ courtship is better than others.

China has launched an ambitious mission to study two interesting objects in our solar system.

The Tianwen-2 mission launched the long March 3B rocket from the Xichang satellite launch centre in Sichuan province at 1:31pm on Wednesday (1:31am on Thursday in China), according to the National Space Agency of China.

“Now we can study them close by with details that really revolutionize the understanding of them and objects like them,” Kareta said in an email. “And more, every time you see a new kind of solar system object on a spaceship for the first time… it’s like opening a present for your birthday. Whatever it’s under the wrapping paper, it’s always exciting to see something for the first time and try your best to understand it.”

Astronomers first discovered the Camooarewa in 2016 using the Hawaiian Panoramic Survey Telescope, or the Pan Star, Pan Stars. Ben Sharkey, a visiting senior faculty expert at the University of Maryland College Park, led a study published in November 2021, suggesting that it could be a massive boulder that was emitted from the moon due to impacts.

The name Kamooarewa comes from Hawaiian creations that suggest descendants traveling by themselves.

It will be the smallest asteroid visited between 150 and 190 feet (46-58 meters) in diameter, said Dr. Patrick Michel, director of the research facilities at the French National Centre for Science and Technology. Michelle also served as a coin vegetator for missions for NASA and Japan’s aerospace exploration agency Osiris Rex and Hayabusa 2, returning asteroid samples to Earth. Asteroid sampled by Osiris Rex, Bennu had a diameter similar to the height of the Imperial State building, that is, 1,614 feet (492 meters).

Camooarewa is a semi-satellite, a type of nearby asteroid that orbits the Sun but sticks close to Earth, and comes within about 9 million miles (14.5 million kilometers).

The artist's concept shows a typical main belt asteroid between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. However, the camouarewa, which orbits more closely with the Earth, could be the lunar discharged mass.

“Ben Sharkey didn’t think there was a lump of the moon in space near the Earth until we saw it reflecting light like the moon,” Kareta said. “The moon is covered with craters, but who knew that the violent formation of these craters could throw tennis court-sized rocks?

Kamooarewa’s research and sampling could help astronomers determine whether the space rock actually originated from the moon, or whether it similarly reflects light, Kareta said. Kareta is also involved in a study led by Sharkey, and will be studying Kamoooalewa in more detail next year using James Webb Space Telescope.

“If it’s actually from the moon, we might be able to identify other moon samples with similar properties, which will help us know where it came from on the moon,” Kareta said. “It looks like the moon, but if it’s actually coming from somewhere else, the sample promotes a fundamentally informed search of where the Camooarewa actually came from.”

Missions can also shed light on asteroids that can cause damage if they hit the Earth. The camooarewa is comparable in size to the objects that destroyed tungskas in Siberia more than a century ago, Michel said.

approximately According to the Planetary Society, the 98-foot-wide asteroid (30 meters wide) struck the Podkamennaya Tungska River in Russia’s remote Siberian forest in 1908. The event levelled trees and destroyed forests at 830 square miles (2,150 square kilometers).

According to Michelle, trajectories and landings on such small bodies are complex and part of what makes the mission interesting and dangerous.

“To get into orbit you have to get really close. Even if you follow it, the operation remains very sensitive. “And the plan is to get a sample. So there isn’t much area where the probe can safely land.”

Space Rock 311p/Pan-Starrs is one of the most studied active asteroids, Kareta said.

“Even just (25) years ago, we didn’t know there were any active asteroids. Scientists thought that only icy comets from the outer solar system could produce comet-like tails, but we also found that dozens of asteroids don’t have many ice,” Kareta said.

The Hubble Space Telescope took an image of 311p/pan-starrs on September 23, 2013.

Astronomers have come up with many hypotheses about why objects throw dust, including the idea that the presence of pressure pockets that drain material and that other objects can affect 311p/pan-starrs and release elements, Michelle said.

Flying an active asteroid can accurately show the process of creating dusty tails streaming from objects, potentially revealing the possibility that even scientists have not considered it.

“This is the first time such an object has been observed up close and we can determine which mechanism (there may be other mechanisms) drives the activity,” Michelle said.

Data collected by Tianwen-2 could enhance extensive research into objects within the internal solar system, including mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and the asteroid belt, Kareta said.

“There’s an incredible amount that I don’t know about either object,” Kareta said. “I don’t think the spacecraft has never reached the target and at least some major surprises were found. I am sure some of the current understanding of either object is completely wrong.
