The mites make people vegan. This is why.

0

More people are becoming allergic to meat and dairy products, especially in Martha’s vineyards.

play

Poppy seed-sized pests are turning meat lovers at Martha’s vineyard into herbivores.

The surge in the island’s lonely star tick population has rapidly increased alpha paralysis syndrome, a severe allergy to red meat and other animal products. Mite, It’s also increasing elsewhere in the US, allowing you to communicate life-threatening allergies in one bite.

And this state is changing the way people eat in popular Massachusetts tourist spots, among many other places.

Mufinrabu, chef and owner of a vineyard food truck that you enjoy my vegan, said he saw more people in the vineyard looking for plant-based food options for alfagal. At the Martha’s Vineyard Fair in mid-August, people who have never come to the truck looking for cheese or Mayo said, without realizing that they are vegan.

“They tell us, ‘I have an alphagal,'” Love said. “A lot of them have a hard time finding a restaurant they really trust, so it’s like, ‘We’re never going to eat.’ ”

What is alphagal syndrome?

Alphagal is a sugar molecule found in most mammals, including cows, pigs, and sheep, but it is not human. Lone Star ticks can be transferred to humans through saliva when eaten by animals and when bitten.

People with alphagal syndrome are allergic to lean meat such as beef, pork, and lamb. Some people are allergic to dairy products such as gelatin and other animal-derived products.

According to Mayo Clinic, symptoms of this condition appear 2 to 6 hours after eating meat with the alpha gal molecule, ranging from mild to life-threatening.

Some of the most common symptoms include:

  • Stomach pain and nausea
  • Hits and itching
  • Swelling of the face and throat
  • shortness of breath

How common is alphagal?

Over 110,000 suspected cases of Alpha-Gal have been identified between 2010 and 2022, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. However, the agency said the actual number of cases could be up to four times as many times as possible.

Historically, most commonly appeared in the South, East, and Central America, where Lone Stars live. Stephen Rich, director of the New England Center of Excellence of Vector-borne Diseases, said that the population of Arknid parasites has become increasingly common in New England over the past decade.

In 2020, the two tested positive for Alfagal at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, spokesman Gregory Matisse said. In 2024, that number rose to 523. This year’s results are not available yet.

Dr. Karen Casper, director of emergency medical care at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, said more people have visited the emergency room since the beginning of the summer to remove tick bites and mites.

Cases have also been reported in the coastal areas of Cape Cod, Maine, New York and Long Island.

“There’s clearly a northerly movement and an inland movement away from the coast,” Rich said.

Why did you see the rise in the tick of the lonely star?

Scientists say that solitary tick populations of stars are thriving in the northeast as white-tailed deer populations rebound. Mites live and feed deer, especially during insect nymphs and adulthood. According to Massachusetts deer harvest data, almost 100 square miles of Martha’s vineyards have an estimated 55 deer per square mile.

“The breeding grounds are more abundant than ever,” Rich said.

The lonely star tick is particularly aggressive and actively hunts human prey, Rich said. They are also found on well-maintained lawns than other types of mites.

Is there a treatment for alphagal?

Currently, there is no treatment for Alpha-Gal syndrome. According to Mayo Clinic, abstinence of lean meat and dairy products is the most effective way to prevent illness for people with conditions.

People who have experienced a severe allergic reaction may carry an epinephrine autoinjector such as epinephrine to stop anaphylaxis.

Only way to prevent star mites bites

It is impossible to find the lonely star tick. Adult women grow to the size of apple seeds and have small white spots on their backs. It can also bite larvae, which are translucent and pinhead-sized.

Rich, who teaches microbiology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst University, said people living in areas where ticks are common should always have a “general attention.”

He recommended:

  • He wears long pants tucked into his socks as he walks through a grassy area. This isn’t ideal beach outfit, but he said it’s something people should consider when passing through the dunes.
  • Spray the pesticide permethrin that repels mosquitoes and mites on clothing.
  • A repellent for aparing insects with chemicals containing DEET and picaridin on your skin.

We can’t be paralyzed by mass shooting,” Obama says.

Former President Barack Obama urged Americans not to be paralyzed after another massive shooting this week, killing two children and injuring at least 17 people after assailants attacked the Catholic Church in Minneapolis.

Authorities say the 23-year-old suspect is a school-houser and was fired from the windows that house the school, taking the lives of eight and 10-year-olds sitting in the Pews.

“We cannot allow ourselves to be paralyzed by mass shooting,” Obama said in an August 27 statement published on multiple social media platforms.

“What happened today in Minneapolis is heartbreaking and Michelle and I pray for parents sitting at their hospital bedside after losing their child or another unspeakable and unnecessary act of violence.”

President Obama faced dozens of similar incidents during his tenure, including Tucson Congressional Event Shooting, which injured Arizona Sen. Gabby Giffords in 2011. Two separate shootings in Fort Hood, Texas in 2009 and again in 2014. Aurora Cinema was filmed in 2012. And the 2016 Pulse Nightclub massacre claimed 49 lives and injured 53 people.

In 2012, Obama cried out as he spoke at the White House after Sandy Hook Elementary School, which shot in Newtown, Connecticut, killed 20 children between the ages of six and seven.

“We have endured many of these tragedys over the past few years,” Obama said at the time. “And every time I learn the news, I react as someone else does, not as a president. As a parent. And that was especially true today.

Democrats seeking gun control measures when Vance keeps prayers

During his last year as president, Obama worked on gun violence, calling it the “unfinished business one-piece” of his administration.

However, his emotional charm and political lifting were constantly hampered by Republicans and other gun rights advocates who argued that regulating firearms for law-abiding citizens was wrong, which made it impossible to garner sufficient support in Congress.

Several Democratic officials, including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, are scheduled to hold an August 28 press conference “seek actions that include banning offensive weapons and large-capacity magazines,” according to a media release that announced the event.

Prayer services for peace and healing are also held at St. Paul’s Cathedral. There, hundreds of mourners have already gathered to honor the victims on the August 27 vigil to mourn their families. However, some liberal commentators have assaulted them in response to the shooting, and say that the call to prayer is a deaf response given the victim is inside the church.

“Prayers aren’t funny enough,” Jen Psaki, a former White House press secretary during the Biden administration, said in an August 27 post on X. “Prayer doesn’t end school shootings.

These comments were responsible from Vice President JD Vance, who replied that Psaki’s message was attacking people for prayer.

“We pray because our hearts are broken,” Vance said in a post on August 28th. “We pray because we know that God will listen. We pray because we know that God can work in a mysterious way and capture further actions.”

People are smoked at this brutal Provo’s most eligible refusal

Rylie McBride had only one fear of going to “Provo’s Most Regigable.”

Unfortunately, the fear was true at 24 years old.

“I remember telling my friend before I started filming: “The worst thing that could happen is that no one will happen, and it will probably be the most devastating thing in the world,” says McBride. “But hopefully it won’t happen.” And I jinxed myself. ”

After the camera stopped rolling, it didn’t go away. Since McBride appeared on the show, which was released on July 18th, her rejection has taken its own online life. The clip has been shown 1.7 million times on Tiktok, 5.4 million times on Instagram and 97.7 million times on X, which prompted a fierce debate.

Much of social media supports McBride and opposes men. Some have argued that they are talking about the bigger issues about modern dating and the obstacles that young people find love.

McBride says he has no malicious intentions about his time on the show and appreciates the kind words he’s got from strangers since he went viral. The main point of how she sees it, is that rejection is part of life and you can’t hold you back.

You are already doing your best, but we are here to make your life even better. Sign up for our newsletter better.

“I was honestly very kind to strangers reach out to me, just to the extent it had, and said, “Hey, you’re going to find someone. That’s fine because they’re not standing up.

Why “Provo’s Most Qualified” is weaponising the Internet.

“Provo’s Most Eligible” follows a similar setup to Netflix’s “Love Is Blind.” Single men and women, separated by curtains, introduce themselves, decide whether they want to be paired before they see each other, and then date from there.

In the first episode, we see a man and a woman alternately introducing themselves. If someone on the other side is interested in matching, they are standing up. If multiple people are standing, others can ask them questions and make decisions.

McBride remembers that when it was time for women to start introducing, no one wanted to go first.

“It really doesn’t show this…but the pause for people who don’t want to happen has become longer. It’s the first person, do you know what I mean?” she says. “I’m just a Goger. That’s my personality. I’m someone who does so much. And I just say, ‘Well, I’ll be just the first person. That’s fine for me.’ In hindsight… I just don’t think going first is the right option. ”

During the episode, McBride gives him a short pitch about himself and talks about his love for skiing, scuba diving and the themed parties. She also shares her excitement about her upcoming trip to Australia and says she wants to date someone who can go on an adventure.

Her introductions elicited “AWW” from women and cricket from men. I smiled and laughed through her introduction.

Many commenters didn’t want to match McBride. “It was sad to see. And no one has heard that he’ll be excited about life for a long time. “Riley dodged a lot of bullets here,” a commenter for Tiktok wrote. “I’m 100% sure that all of them were threatened by how adventurous and perhaps independent she was,” another wrote.

However, McBride elicits her rejection for more simple reasons. She says that most people will want to wait and see who else was in the group of nine women before making a decision. As a result, anyone who went first was detained as a disadvantage.

McBride doesn’t even take the laughs of men into his mind, and believes their reactions have more to do with the nerves that they’ve been filmed than her.

“A lot of people are giving hatred to the people behind you who are laughing,” says McBride. “They then told me about it. They texted me that they weren’t laughing at me, and when I saw it, I didn’t think they were laughing at my reaction.”

Does the rejection of the virus reveal anything about modern dating?

People discussed online when the moment was deeper about what modern dating did as the clip went more viral. Some have argued that it shows hypocrisy of men who have struggled to find women so far, but complain about their struggle to pass on a driven independent woman like McBride.

“The “moment of male loneliness” is given to self,” tech journalist and commentator Taylor Lorenz wrote X: “Some men insist they want to date a ‘valuable’ woman, but when they meet one, they reject her and wonder why they are still single,” another wrote.

McBride doesn’t have grumble against men because he doesn’t want to match her. In her view, she didn’t fit what they were looking for – that’s fine.

“I feel rejection is a part of life,” she says. “Not everyone likes who you are or what you’re doing. That’s fine.”

Since the show, McBride says she is still single. A lot of people are slipping into her DMs, but there are no locals for her. She also started graduate school and didn’t have much time to go on a date.

She urges people to put themselves out of her own way, and hopes that she remembers that it’s always better to take a chance than to think, “What if?”

“I would rather put myself there, rather than try it at all,” McBride said.

Bitcoin has skyrocketed 76%. Should I buy it for less than $120,000?

0

Bitcoin rose sharply in 2025. This is thanks to loose federal regulations and optimism in the market. However, cryptocurrencies do not have the immunity to major falls.

play

Cryptocurrency prices have skyrocketed over the past year. The federal government has taken a softer approach to regulation, and investors have become optimistic (and a little speculative) about their investments. Bitcoin Price (Cryptography: BTC) It has similarly risen, surged by 76% over the past year alone.

There is a general sense of optimism among investors with both stocks and cryptocurrency, but if a more severe economic situation comes first, some of the massive returns they have experienced could go through a reversal. Bitcoin has proven to be a resilient cryptocurrency in the past, bouncing back after a massive pullback. Is it still worth buying Bitcoin under $120,000? This is what investors should know.

Why Bitcoin prices continue to rise

Bitcoin began its recent rise after President Trump took office late last year. The first bump probably came as crypto investors expected the Trump administration to have a better advantage over cryptocurrency.

They weren’t wrong. Since taking office, Trump has repeatedly regulated cryptocurrency, announced a strategic Bitcoin sanctuary, dropped several lawsuits against the cryptocurrency company, and launched his own memecoin. These developments are not necessarily good, but they have contributed to rising crypto prices, including Bitcoin.

More importantly, Bitcoin is gaining momentum as the coin has received a wider institutional acceptance. Over the past year, almost 12 spot Bitcoin exchange funds (ETFs) have been launched, making it possible for investors to easily invest in changes in Bitcoin prices. Now, as large financial institutions sell stocks in Bitcoin ETFs, Bitcoin has a new level of reliability in the investment world.

Why Bitcoin is pulled back soon?

With around 76% price increases over the past year, there are some concerns that Bitcoin (and the general cryptocurrency) is currently a bit bubbly. For one, as investors have shown resilience in the past few years, they have pushed Bitcoin high as part of the general optimism in most investments, including the stock market.

However, there have been some recent indications that the economy may be slowing down. The revised employment numbers for May and June were much lower than previously thought, and employment in July was slower than expected.

Also, many economists are concerned that the effects of Trump’s tariffs will ultimately be felt by consumers if more companies start to pass on additional costs to their customers. If that happens, it could slow down consumer spending at the same time as businesses slowing down employment. By combining these two things, it slows the growth of the economy and allows investors to move away from high-risk investments like Bitcoin.

Is this the best time to buy Bitcoin?

I think it’s fine to invest in Bitcoin only if your portfolio can handle a significant amount of volatility.

With Bitcoin prices skyrocketing over the past year, if you get truly negative economic data, it could be primed for a dramatic pull. Cryptocurrencies are prone to dramatic price fluctuations, so another bad employment report, rising inflation, or ongoing tariff news could quickly reduce the value of Bitcoin.

But if you don’t mind the risk, Bitcoin will become a good code for long-term retention. With acceptance by many financial institutions and the launch of Bitcoin ETFs, it is easier than ever to invest in Bitcoin price movements, which could help to strengthen Bitcoin investors’ acceptance for the next few years.

He was trained to become Vance’s president. Trump has “incredible” energy

WASHINGTON – It was the first time Vice President J.D. Vice President Vance entered an oval office that he noticed the drapes (“dark and dark”) – but he claims he has not measured them for a future turn behind a decisive desk.

“I’ve had a lot of good hands-on training over the last 200 days,” Vance said in an exclusive interview with USA Today on August 27th.

After all, his boss is the oldest person sworn to be the president of the United States. President Donald Trump was 78 years old.

“The president is incredibly healthy,” Vance said. “He has an incredible amount of energy.”

The extensive interviews featured topics such as televised spat with Ukrainian President Voldy Mie Zelensky, Taylor Swift Traviskels’ engagement, and the president’s controversial efforts to oust the Federal Reserve Governor.

Trump’s age issue has echoed over recent months by Democrats and his own main enemy, Nicky Haley (even Haley’s campaign released campaign ads entitled campaign as seniors for the stumbling) with both former President Joe Biden and Trump.

The White House announced in July that Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common venous condition, after images taken by the president showed visible swelling in his lower limbs.

White House physician Sean Barbabera described the condition as “benign and common” in the memo, saying it was “consistent with frequent manual minor soft tissue stimulation.”

Vance wanted to present a positive view of her boss’ health.

“He was the last person to call in the night, and he was the first person to wake up and call in the morning,” he said.

Trump was the target of two assassination attempts during his campaign as presidential candidate last year.

In July 2024, Trump was shot by a 20-year-old gunman at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A bullet hit the top of his right ear and injured him. A few days later, Trump wore a large white bandage on his ears while attending the Republican National Convention to accept his party’s presidential nomination.

In September, Secret Service agents helped stop their second assassination attempt by finding a man with a rifle hidden in planted leaves near Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“Yes, there’s a terrible tragedy,” Vance said. “But I am very confident that the President of the United States is in good condition.

“And if God forbids it, if there is a terrible tragedy, I am not more likely to think about vocational training than what I have gained in the last 200 days,” he added.

$7.95m Mansion from Nick and Vanessa Lachie Lebai Tennis Star Naomi Osaka

Boys’ Band alumni Nick Lachie and his wife Vanessa Lachie recently repurchased the stunning Los Angeles home from professional tennis star Naomi Osaka in nearly three years since selling it to a 27-year-old athlete.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Osaka recently sold a home he purchased from Lacheys in 2022 to a celebrity couple for $7.95 million. She reportedly bought a Tarzana in Los Angeles at home for $6.3 million.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Lacheys purchased a five-bedroom home in 2020 for just under $5 million.

While at home, Osaka has undergone renovations, including adding a gym to the backyard. It also features her name and personal logo.

The approximately 0.5 acres of Gate Estate also boasts an outdoor pool, hot tub and pickleball court, but there is no tennis court. The main house has five bedrooms and offers mountain views, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Architectural Digest reported that Lacheys was the first to sell the house and could move to Hawaii, while Vanessa filmed “NCIS: Hawaii.” The couple reportedly returned to California last year after the series was cancelled.

The sale comes after Osaka reached the final at the National Bank Open in Montreal, then lost to Victoria M Boko. She has marked her first Master 1000 Finals since Miami opened in 2022. She also followed her appearance in the 16th round in Washington, DC and 32nd round at Wimbledon.

Osaka is a four-time Grand Slam champion and won the crown at the US Open, with the Australian opening twice before his career.

Tarzana was a ranch once owned by Edgar Rice Burroughs, author of “Tarzan,” the Wall Street Journal reported. According to Redfin, Tarzana, known for its luxury homes, golf courses and country clubs, achieved a median home selling price of $1.1 million in July.

Lisa Cook filed a federal lawsuit to file the federal government to fight Trump.

The case could ultimately reach the Supreme Court as Cook and Trump are discussing the extent of the president’s authority to remove staff from an independent Fed committee.

  • Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, whom Trump said was fired, filed a federal lawsuit to combat her removal.
  • The case could ultimately reach the Supreme Court as Cook and Trump discuss the president’s authority to remove members from the independent Federal Reserve board.

WASHINGTON – Federal Reserve President Donald Trump, Lisa Cook, has said he has filed a federal lawsuit claiming he was fired and the president has not had the authority to take her into office.

An unprecedented legal battle threatens to ultimately reach the Supreme Court as the conflict seeks to resolve how much power the president has over the so-called Independence Commission.

When Congress created the Fed in 1913, lawmakers said officials could only be ruled out because of “cause.” This means a valid reason. The Supreme Court said this would give Fed officials their own protection from removal.

“This incident will challenge President Trump’s unprecedented and illegal attempts and will be the first in the history of the board if allowed,” Cook’s lawsuit said. “The president’s actions violate Governor Cook’s Fifth Amendment legitimate process rights and her “right to statutory notice and hearing under the Federal Reserve Act.”

But Trump argues that Cook’s “potentially criminal” lawsuit fills out the mortgage document and is sufficient to help him fire her. Trump also claims he has the power to fire someone in the administrative department.

Trump’s appointee William Porto, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, has filed allegations that he filled out his homes in Michigan and Georgia in mortgage documents claiming her “major residences.” Pulte introduced the issue to Attorney General Pamela Bondi for an investigation.

However, Cook has not been criminally charged. Legal experts said it is not clear if she could remove it because of the “cause” if she had no chance to respond to the allegations against her.

Eliminating cooks could undermine the Fed’s confidence in independence, setting interest rates based on economic goals. The conflict has repeatedly led to Trump’s complaints and the Fed should cut interest rates to promote housing and economic growth. The US dollar stumbled against other major currencies after Trump said he would remove the cook.

Vice President JD Vance defended Trump’s decision in an exclusive interview with USA Today on August 27th.

On August 26, the Fed issued a statement that the agency would comply with the court’s decision.

CFP Race Season Shaping Season College Football Biggest Game

Don’t be distracted by No. 1 and No. 2 just outside the gate. It’s definitely an eye-catching eye-catching thing.

However, this demolition derby of the College Football Playoff Beauty Contest will be much deeper. Or 25 games, specifically.

All game issues have been replaced by weekly issues. Additionally, each week includes games that somehow shape the college football playoff race.

Hands and feet in the car, children. We ride wild, white knuckles over the college football season in 25 Cain Miss games. The final CFP then predicted the order of termination.

August 30th

Texas, Ohio: The rematch of last year’s national semi-finals and the beginning of the Archmanning era in Texas. Or was it the time of Julian Sain in Ohio?

Clemson LSU: LSU coach Brian Kelly doesn’t want to say he won the game. But I can see from here, and it looks like Ed Orgeron. No national titles.

Notre Dame in Miami: The Hurricane wasted a season worthy of the Heisman Trophy from QB Camward in 2024. They waste another season at Georgia Transfer QB Carson Beck if the defense isn’t straightened by the new DC Corey Hetherman.

September 6th

Michigan in Oklahoma: The Sooners and Wolverines get cupcakes to start the season before they know if both (or either) deserve CFP. The most secured QB in True Freshman QB (Brice Underwood, Michigan) vs. Transfer Portal (John Matthere).

September 13th

LSU’s Florida: The first real test of the Florida QB DJ Lagway is protected in all offseasons with any number of injuries (shoulder, core, calves). How does he deal with Death Valley and the potentially desperate LSU team?

September 20th

Florida in Miami: If the Hurricane defeated Notre Dame, then beating Florida would have had no choice but to lock down the CFP spot. Because ACC schedules are as difficult as finding beautiful people in South Beach.

September 27th

Oregon, Pennsylvania: Ducks have two game seasons. In Pennsylvania and in bitter rivals Washington to finish the season. Other than that, there’s nothing to stop Oregon from another undefeated regular season.

Alabama in Georgia: I’m honestly not feeling that. Remember Alabama-LSU (first game) in 2011? Yes, here’s a 9-6.

October 4th

Texas in Florida: Gators coach Billy Napier said he “spot the ball” in connection with a difficult schedule. After a string of games at LSU, Miami, Texas and Texas A&M, we’ll see if this team is legal.

Boise State of Notre Dame: The Irish lost to northern Illinois last year and still made the college football playoffs. But if Boise loses the season opener in South Florida, they may need a victory if they are another potential highest-ranking group of six conference champions.

October 11th

Ohio, Illinois: I know what you’re thinking: Illinois? But what do you not like? A big and experienced offensive line, a three-year starter at quarterback and a top-five defense for the Big Ten. And a dangerous game for Ohio.

Oklahoma vs Texas: I could especially bore you, but let’s face it: you don’t have a 31-point knot on your head (as OU did in 2024) and don’t go back to the following season. It’s not this series.

October 18th

Texas Institute of Technology, Arizona: Tech coach Joey Maguire has no better excuse. Find out if the money can really buy the (Big 12) Championship. more.

October 25th

Alabama in South Carolina: The Gamecocks are the toughest teams on the entire field. The elite play of QB Lanorris Sellers allows them to defeat anyone (including Alabama). Without that, they could lose to Virginia Tech in week one.

November 1st

Pennsylvania, Ohio: I was able to make excuses to Pennsylvania coach James Franklin before the facts (Ryan Day lost to Michigan and still won everything), but don’t make yourself a child: it has to happen. This game is this season.

Arizona, Iowa: They played CFP on the line for the first time in last year’s Big 12 Championship. ASU isn’t too easily out of Ames this time.

Georgia vs Florida: When Florida last beat Georgia in 2020, the Gators made things to Kirby’s smart defense that barely had. Talent level is again in Gainesville, and if Rugway remains healthy, this could be the first loss of Georgia’s season.

November 8th

Alabama LSU: For a while, let’s imagine LSU defeated Clemson and Florida, and everyone else. This is truly Kelly’s most talented team. The game suddenly becomes an early line of sand from the Karen DeBoer era in Alabama.

November 15th

Texas in Georgia: Please admit that, you can’t forget the deer at the moment in the headlights for Manning last season in this game. I’m coming out on my limbs here: defending Georgia in Athens might be a little different. if you know what i mean.

Oklahoma by Alabama: If SONERS is truly a legitimate threat to beat the SEC, it starts here. The Texas game becomes pure emotion. This is pure will, hoping, standing up.

November 22nd

Southern California, Oregon: Fans are restless and the university desperately wants to avoid major acquisitions. Forget about the fact that USC coach Lincoln Riley, the elite recruiting class, is building in 2026. He may need this game to save his job.

November 28th

Georgia at Georgia Institute of Technology: A renovation at Bobby Dodfield forced Georgia Tech to move the game to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. This means that 16,000 fans will win the series for the first time since 2016, securing the CFP spot.

Texas A&M in Texas: Aggies coach Mike Elko was talking all offseason like a guy who knows he has a good team. Then again, all that bravery was able to trip around Sixth Avenue after another ugh loss, looking for late-night Thanksgiving leftovers.

November 29th

Ohio, Michigan: If you think Ohio fans have softened Ryan’s coach after last year’s National Championship, wait for what a fifth straight loss to Michigan will bring.

Clemson in South Carolina: This could be the difference between Clemson, which earns the No. 1 overall seed in CFP, and South Carolina, which makes CFP. And you know, they dislike Each other. That’s all.

Tencent Hunyuan Video-Foley brings realistic audio to AI videos

0

The team at Tencent’s Hunyuan Lab has created a new AI called “Hunyuan Video-Foley.” It is designed to listen to videos and produce high-quality soundtracks that are perfectly synchronized with on-screen actions.

Have you ever seen videos generated by AI and felt like something is missing? The visuals may be great, but there is often an eerie silence that breaks the spell. In the film industry, the sounds that fill that silence: the rustling of leaves, the applause of thunder, the chunks of glass – are called Foley Art, and are laborious crafts performed by experts.

Matching that level of detail is a major challenge for AI. For years, automated systems have struggled to create a sound that is trustworthy for videos.

How does Tencent solve AI-generated audio due to video issues?

One of the biggest reasons why video-to-audio (V2A) models are often lacking in the sound sector was what researchers call “modality imbalances.” Essentially, the AI was listening to more prompts for the given text than he was watching the actual video.

For example, you might provide models with videos of beaches busy walking and gulls flying, but the text prompts simply say “sea waves sound” and you’ll get the sound of waves. AI completely ignores footsteps in the sand and the bird’s appeal, filling the scene with excitement.

Plus, the audio quality was often poor, so there was not enough high quality video to train the model effectively.

Tencent’s Hunyuan team addressed these issues from three different angles.

  1. Tencent realized that AI needed better education, so they built a huge 100,000 hours of video, audio and textual descriptions to learn from it. They created an automatic pipeline that filters low-quality content from the internet, stripping clips with long silence or compressed fuzzy audio to ensure AI learned from the best possible material.
  1. They designed a smarter architecture for AI. Think of teaching your model properly multitasking. This system first pays very close attention to the visual audio link and gets the timing right. For example, it’s like matching footsteps at the exact moment your shoes hit the pavement. Once that timing is locked down, a text prompt is built in to understand the overall mood and context of the scene. This dual approach ensures that certain details of the video are not overlooked.
  1. To ensure that the sound was of high quality, they used a training strategy called Representational Alignment (REPA). This is like having a professional audio engineer constantly watching the shoulders of AI during training. It guides AI work to produce cleaner, richer, more stable sounds compared to the capabilities of pre-trained professional-grade audio models.

result talk The sound of itself

When Tencent tested the Hunyuan Video-Foley against other major AI models, the audio results were clear. It wasn’t just about computer-based metrics being superior. Human listeners consistently rated its output as high quality, matching the video better and timing it more accurately.

Overall, AI has improved the sound to match on-screen actions, both in content and timing. Results across multiple evaluation datasets support this.

Results of Tencent Hunyuan Video-Foley's evaluation of other major AI models.

Tencent’s work helps bridge the gap between silent AI video and immersive viewing experiences with high quality audio. It brings the magic of Foley Art into the world of automated content creation. This can be a powerful ability anywhere for filmmakers, animators and creators.

Vance on the explosion with Zelenskyy: “Sometimes people don’t agree”

0

Vice President JD Vance says the elliptical office conflict with Volodymyr Zelenskyy was caused by Joe Biden’s dissatisfaction with Ukrainian policy.

play

WASHINGTON – Vice President JD Vance suggested he was not asking Ukrainian President Vownai’s Voldy Mee Zelensky to scream in his oval office in February, but he believes the Tuti exchange has helped to shed light on the regime’s concerns about Ukraine.

“Sometimes people don’t agree,” Vance said in a broad interview with USA Today on Wednesday, August 27, covering topics such as President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to fight crime, Taylor Swift Travis Kelce’s involvement, and controversial efforts to support the governor of the Federal Reserve. “Do you want an elliptical office exploded in public places? Not necessarily.”

However, he added about the shockingly aired slowdown. “I think it helped Americans see it.”

The elliptical office conflict on February 28 came when Zelensky visited the White House and visited the White House to earn revenue from Ukrainian minerals in exchange for military assistance for Russian infringement.

The meeting was when Trump dug up in Zelensky’s wardrobe (black sweatshirts, black slacks, boots), and from there it went far more downhill.

The temper was burning, and the meeting was left to screams that had been played out for almost an hour in front of the TV cameras.

Vance spoke to Zelenskyy, claiming that wartime leaders have not given proper appreciation for the billions of dollars in military aid the United States has given them to their nation. Vance suggested that better “diplomacy” could have prevented Russia’s invasion, and accused Zelensky of being “disrespectful.”

The explosion led to speculation that Vance had purposely set up Zelensky for public ridiculous laughs.

Vance condemns Biden’s Ukrainian policy

In an interview with USA Today, Vance acknowledged that labeling a controversy for a meeting “set it” to “put it.”

“There are many issues of agreement between the US and Ukraine,” Vance said. “There are sometimes discrepancies between the US and Ukraine.”

Vance said his real concern was not the Ukrainian leader but the control of former President Joe Biden, who committed $128 billion to help Ukraine’s defense.

“What always really bothered me about this relationship was that it wasn’t as Ukrainian as the US side, especially Joe Biden’s Democratic administration,” he said.

When Biden took office, Zelensky came to Washington and left behind billions of dollars without a real sense of what we were trying to buy with that $100 billion,” Vance said.

“And that’s always been a lot more frustrating thing Zelensky had asked for help from Washington,” he said. “The Biden administration had no plans for how to end the war.”

Ukraine “feeled like this strange money hole throwing money after a problem without a real plan to solve the problem,” Vance said. “It’s always really annoyed me.”

Vance said he and Trump had many “good conversations” with Zelensky, and “we’re going to continue working for peace.”

“We’re pretty much in line with President Zelensky on this issue,” he said. “We have some disagreements, but of course we want to protect the integrity of Ukraine’s territory. We do not want Russia to conquer the entire country.”

Trump pushed the idea of a “land exchange” in which Ukraine gives up on Russian-occupied territory as part of a contract to stop the war.

The administration believes the war has reached the point that “the Russians have achieved nothing (and) the Ukrainians have truly achieved nothing” by continuing to fight.

“What is best for everyone, including the United States,” he said, “is to stop the murder and bring this to a peaceful reconciliation.”

Promises, skepticism, and its meaning for Southeast Asia

0

Agent AI has been the talk of the next major wave of artificial intelligence, but its meaning for businesses has not been resolved. The Capgemini Research Institute estimates that Agent AI can unlock as much as US$450 billion by 2028. However, recruitment is still limited. Only 2% of organizations are expanding their use, and trust in AI agents is already beginning to slip.

That tension – potential but less unfolding – is what Capgemini’s new research is exploring. Based on an April 2025 survey of 1,500 executives from large organizations in 14 countries, including Singapore, the report highlights trust and oversight as key factors in achieving value. Almost three-quarters of executives said the benefits of human involvement in AI workflows outweigh the costs. Nine out of ten have been described as false surveillance as positive or at least neutral.

The message is clear. AI agents work best when paired with someone who is not left in the autopilot.

Early steps, slow progress

About a quarter released Agent AI pilots, but only 14% of people moved to implementation. For the majority, deployment is still in the planning stage. This report describes this as a growing gap between intent and preparation. It is currently one of the main barriers to achieving economic value.

This technology is not theoretical, real-world applications are beginning to emerge, with one example being a personal shopping assistant that can search for items based on a particular request, generate product descriptions, answer questions, and place them in your cart using voice or text commands. These tools are usually not lacking in completing financial transactions for security reasons, but they already replicate many of the capabilities of human assistants.

This raises greater questions about the role of traditional websites. If AI can handle tasks like search, comparison, or purchase, do you need to navigate directly through your online store? For those who find busy websites overwhelming or difficult to navigate, AI-driven interfaces may offer simpler and more accessible options.

Definition of Agent AI

To get through the hype, AI News We spoke with Jason Hardy, Chief Technology Officer of Artificial Intelligence at Hitachi Vantara about how companies in the Asia-Pacific region should think about technology.

Jason Hardy, Chief Technology Officer of Artificial Intelligence at Hitachi Vantara.

“Agentic AI is software that lets you decide, act and refine your strategy on its own,” says Hardy. “Think as a team of domain experts who can learn from experience, coordinate tasks, and operate in real time. Generated AI creates content and responds to prompts. Agent AI may use genai in it, but the job is to pursue a purpose and take action in a dynamic environment.”

The distinction between output generation and operational outcome captures the meaning of Agent AI in Enterprise IT.

Why adoption accelerates

According to Hardy, recruitment is driven by scale and complexity. “Companies own at complexity, risk and scale. Agent AI is catching up to do more than analytics. This is why it adopts a shift from “insight” to “automatic operational behavior” that optimizes storage and capacity, automates governance and compliance, responds to security threats in real time.”

Capgemini’s research supports this. This study found that trust in agent AI is heterogeneous, but early deployment has proven useful when technology takes on routine but essential IT tasks.

Value is emerging

Hardy pointed to IT tactics as the most powerful use case ever. “Automized data classification, proactive storage optimization and compliance reports save teams time every day, while predictive maintenance and real-time cybersecurity response reduce downtime and risk,” he said.

The impact exceeds efficiency. The feature means that the system can detect problems before escalates, allocate resources more effectively, and include security incidents more quickly. “Early early users are already using Agent AI to actively repair incidents before escalating, enhancing reliability and performance in hybrid environments,” Hardy added.

For now, it remains the most practical starting point. The deployment provides measurable results, is central to how companies manage both costs and risk, and demonstrates the implications of agent AI operations.

Southeast Asia starting point

For Southeast Asian organizations, Hardy said the number one priority is to get the data right. “Agent AI only provides value when enterprise data is properly classified, protected and governed,” he explained.

Infrastructure is also important. This means that Agent AI needs a system that can support multi-agent orchestration, persistent memory, and dynamic resource allocation. Without this foundation, recruitment is limited.

Many companies may choose to start with IT operations where Agent AI can preempt outages and optimize performance before deploying it to a wider business function.

Reshaping the core workflow

Hardy expects Agent AI to rebuild workflows, supply chain management and customer service. “In IT operations, Agent AI can also redistribute resources in capacity needs, rebalancing workloads, real-time, and can also automate predictive maintenance and prevent hardware failures before they occur,” he said.

Cybersecurity is another realm of commitment. “In cybersecurity, Agent AI can detect anomalies, isolate affected systems, cause immutable backups in seconds, reduce response times and reduce potential damage,” Hardy noted.

Functions are not limited to proof of concept tests. Early deployment already shows how agent AI can enhance reliability and resilience in hybrid environments.

Skills and leadership

Recruiting also requires new human skills. “Agent AI shifts human roles from performing to monitoring and orchestration,” Hardy said. Leaders need to set boundaries, monitor autonomous systems, and ensure that they remain ethical and organizational limits.

For managers, this change means focusing on management tasks and focusing on mentoring, innovation and strategy. HR teams need to build governance skills such as preparatory audits and create new structures to effectively integrate agent AI.

The impact of the labor force is uneven. The World Economic Forum predicts that AI will be able to create 11 million jobs and drive away 9 million people by 2030. Women and Generation Z are expected to face the most sudden confusion in more than 70% of women and up to 76% of young workers in roles vulnerable to AI.

This highlights the urgency of reskills, highlighting that major investments are already underway as Microsoft has committed $1.7 billion in Indonesia and rolls out training programs in Malaysia and the wider region. Hardy emphasized that capacity building should be comprehensive, prompt and strategic.

What’s coming next

Looking three years from now, Hardy believes that many leaders underestimate the pace of change. “The first wave of profits is already seen in IT operations. Agent AI is freeing up to automate tasks such as data classification, storage optimization, predictive maintenance, cybersecurity response, and other tasks, allowing teams to focus on high-level strategic work,” he said.

But the bigger surprise may be at the economic and business model level. IDC Project AI and Generation AI could add approximately US$120 billion to ASEAN-6’s GDP by 2027. “This impact suggests that it will become much faster and more material than many leaders expect right now,” he said.

In Indonesia, it is expected that more than 57% of employment roles will be enhanced or destroyed by AI, and this reminds us that conversion is not limited to that. It reduces the structure of your business, how you manage risk, and how you create value.

Balancing autonomy and surveillance

Capgemini’s findings and Hardy’s insights converge on the same theme. Agent AI holds a big promise, but the actual meaning depends on balancing autonomy, trust and human surveillance.

The technology could help businesses reduce costs, improve reliability and unlock new revenue streams. However, recruitment risk stalls without focusing on governance, reskilling and infrastructure preparation.

For Southeast Asia, the question is not whether agent AI will take hold, but how quickly and whether companies can balance autonomy and accountability as they begin to take more responsibility for business decisions.

good morning!🙋🏼‍♀️I’m Nicole Forelt. Where were you on August 26th?

Take a quick look at Thursday’s news:

  • Teachers, faculty and children took life-saving actions at Announcement Church in Minneapolis.
  • The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been fired.
  • This top college quarterback makes a zero NIL dollar.

Minneapolis Community Lament After Fatal Shooting

Tears dripped down my cheeks as mourners wrote a message at the memorial Wednesday after the fatal shooting at the Minneapolis Catholic Church.

what happened: Authorities say two children were killed Wednesday, and at least 17 people were injured when the shooter fired fire through the windows of the announcement church at young students worshipping them.

  • Minnesotan attended all night to sadness. “I’m not usually that emotional, but I was really shaking,” said Elaina Polding, 17, who goes to the youth group at Annunciation Church.
  • Teacher, kids – I’ve become a hero. The teacher and some children were rushing to protect the youngest and most vulnerable. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said that without these brave actions, “it could have been much worse.”
  • Who did it? Attacker Robin Westman said he had said the weapon used in the attack had been legal and recently purchased, and 23-year-old Robin Westman died behind a church from a self-injured wound. Like many large archers, Westman’s motivations, even with detailed writings, would be difficult to decipher to meaningful things that could prevent future attacks.

CDC Director has been expelled

Less than a month after the Senate confirmed her, the White House said it fired CDC director Susan Monares after refusing to step down from the post amid policy discrepancies with the ousterization of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Monares. In his resignation letter, Demetre Daskarakis, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said the recent changes to the CDC’s adult and child vaccination schedule “will threaten the lives of the youngest Americans and pregnant people.” Kennedy has been targeting vaccine policies since being nominated as the nation’s top health officials.

Wind workers in the union want the answer

Dozens of union construction workers off the coast of Rhode Island Coast are playing video games and texting their families, trying to understand why President Donald Trump kicked them out of work. On August 22, the White House suddenly stopped a near-complete 65-turbine revolution wind project in the Atlantic, wondering how developers and construction workers would proceed. For union members hoping to return to work, Trump’s actions make no sense: after more than a decade of planning, permits, approvals, reviews and lawsuits, it helps create cheap, carbon-free energy for consumers while providing six-figure jobs to skilled workers. They are wondering as they wait for offshore.

Navy quarterback Blake Holvas is in the game’s best elite class. He’s part of the top ten, including Cade Krunik of Clemson, Garrett Nussmeyer of LSU, and the rest of the names you will recognize. And that means everyone at that level is well compensated in 2025. All elite quarterbacks in the country at least Billionaires, many of those names have won more than that. Duke quarterback Daryan Mensa reports $4 million a year. Archmanning in Texas is estimated to make more than $6 million. However, athletes like Horvath at the Service Academy are considered government officials and are not permitted to make money from names, images or likeness. Authorities have not released information on the shooter’s motives after two children were killed and more than a dozen were injured in Wednesday’s shooting.

play

MINNEAPOLIS – The city was mourning the violent death of two children, but on Thursday, August 28, authorities tried to determine the motives of the suspect who opened the fire through a stained glass window at a rampaging Catholic church where 17 others were injured while praying for prayers.

Minnesotans met late Wednesday, August 27th for a prayer vigil in the memory of the victims. Attendees sat in folding chairs above the bleachers, standing along either side, listening to Archbishop Bernard Hebda speaking that night in the gymnasium at Holy Angels High School.

“I’m not usually that emotional, but I was really shaking,” said Elaina Polding, 17, who goes to the youth group at Annunciation Church.

Hebda spoke with the USA Today Network after the all night. When the FBI investigated the attack as “domestic terrorist acts and hate crimes targeting Catholics,” he emphasized the importance of maintaining faith.

The shooter, identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman, was armed with a rifle, shotgun and pistol when the attack began at the accusation church around 8:30 a.m. in his hometown. The Mass was the beginning of the school year at the Announcement Catholic School.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said Westman died behind the church from self-harm. He said the weapons used in the attack were legally purchased.

O’Hara said online messages from Shooter, released Wednesday, were rightly timed to be made public during the attack. He said the FBI ordered the YouTube clips to be removed and they were reviewing them.

O’Hara said the message “contains some disturbing writings,” adding that police have not confirmed their motives.

When asked if the attackers attended an announcement school, O’Hara said investigators had not confirmed it but were looking into it. Westman’s mother, Mary Westman, was an administrative assistant at the Announcement Church, according to public records cited by Reuters.

The attack killed two children, ages 8 and 10, and injured 17 people. The names of the deceased and injured have not been released.

The gunman was injured in the shooting with 14 children aged 6 to 15 and three adults in his 80s. Everything was expected to survive.

What all CEOs can learn from Tech’s approach to AI confusion

0

play

  • Rather than experimenting on the surface, tech companies are effectively investing in and fully integrate AI throughout their operations.
  • Clear communication from leadership regarding the role of AI in the company’s future and impact on employees is essential to success.

The tech industry isn’t always getting AI right, but we’ve learned lessons that are good for the rest of the business world to adopt.

For businesses navigating the disruption of artificial intelligence, experts say the way technology companies approach innovation, risk, and organizational change brings important insights.

Tom Davenport, a professor of IT and management at Babson University in Wellesley, Massachusetts, said the most successful tech companies have not only dabbled in AI, but have integrated them throughout their operations. It is a theme he explored in “AI All-in: How Smart Companies Win Big with Artificial Intelligence.”

“Companies like Google and Microsoft have been very aggressive in using AI,” he said. “You don’t want to just tinker with it to get value from it. You have to embed it in different parts of your business and spend a substantial amount of money on it.”

CEOs need to be clear about how AI fits into the company’s future, says Amy Webb, CEO of The Future Today Strategy Group, a New York consulting firm specializing in strategic forecasting. It goes beyond the way it saves money, and how it changes what the company is doing, and what it means for employees.

End-to-end ownership of AI deployments is important.

Davenport said companies are encouraged to assign product managers to manage the entire lifecycle of their AI initiatives. “Someone should oversee the entire process, from conception to implementation and continuous monitoring.”

Tech companies are willing to experiment on their part.

Cultural integrity is just as important as technology preparation, Webb said. Transparency, effective communication, and high-end employees are important to reduce fear and promote buy-in.

And even the best tools can fail without top support.

Webb spoke examples from real life. One of the leadership team’s skeptical executives created so many downstream confusion and fears, fearing that employees had hampered AI efforts and that their work was at risk.

This shows why CEOs must clearly communicate their vision for AI, Webb said.

AI is more than just a technical challenge. It’s a human challenge. Technology has an advantage because its workforce tends to be tech-savvy.

“Today, many tech companies have many (workers) who are more embracing the use of technology, so they are experimenting with AI on their own,” said Thomas Malone, professor of business administration at Patrick J. McGovern, founding director of the MIT Sloan Management School of Management and the MIT Collective Intelligence Center.

“If you’re in an old-fashioned company and no one knows how to spell AI, it’s hard to have them use it,” he joked.

Non-technology companies can work to hone their workplace culture by understanding AI and hiring people at multiple levels, the author of “Superminds: The Superisising Power of People and Computers Think Together.”

Using CHATGPT and other generation AI tools, you don’t need programming skills, so that understanding can be built from within.

“A lot of people can try a lot at such a relatively inexpensive way, and many of them will probably prove useful on a small scale,” Malone said. “Some of them are likely to prove useful on a very large scale.”

Another tip from the world of technology: Protect your AI innovation team from bureaucrats.

Malone said that structural protection against AI innovation is often required with the support of senior leaders. Large business units may be obsessed with the present to focus on the future.

Even if these teams are small, making them higher on the ORG chart gives you the visibility and support you need to explore bold new ideas.

Cultural barriers are realistic. In particular, fear of unemployment and concerns about the unique data leaked into public AI systems. But Davenport said there are private cloud deployments, open source models that companies have full control, or simple solutions that force vendors to commit to not reuse data or prompts.

Experts warn you that you will be fascinated by the latest flashy tools.

“Technology is constantly changing,” Davenport said. “Whatever you buy becomes obsolete quickly.”

In other words, leaders should focus on building core functions (data, people, strategies) that they can adapt.

To navigate change well, leaders need both experimental and production thinking, and Davenport said he will try new things and commit to widespread use of successful pilots.

Ultimately, the AI era is characterized by regulatory, ethical and even technical uncertainty. But experts agree: it is not an excuse for inaction.

“This is not the time to throw our hands away and say, ‘The future is what it is, and we can never affect it,'” Webb said. “Now is the time to make long-term plans, challenge important beliefs, and make better decisions.”

Rollup News talks about “fighting disinformation”

0

Swarm Network, a platform that develops distributed protocols for AI agents, recently announced the successful results of its first flock. Tools (presumably “biology” is a better term) were built to tackle disinformation. Called Rollup News, The Swarm is not an app, software platform or centralized algorithm. This is a distributed collection of AI agents working together to solve bigger problems. The problem is that platforms like X allow all sorts of virus claims. Partly it comes from incredibly influential people. Can you know what is true?

Now we are trying to solve this issue through equally large opposition, providing facts and expert opinions. But if those sources are from the political aspects you oppose, why do you need to trust them? After all, these are people with their own motivations, and two additional issues are created. The facts presented by one person can easily be caught up in accusations of “fake news.” You can attack ground truth using false reports presented as “facts.”

Unfortunately, this is not the current trend that ultimately loses popularity and fades out. The more technology and access to a variety of news sources, the more difficult it is to not treat these sources evenly. Some may be traditional outlets that are legally liable for forgerying claims. Others are popular podcasters with an audience of millions, and experiencing their fears is well tied with the products in their merchandise store. If this stops, you can probably tell the truth from fiction. But it’s not that simple. Official news channels have a history of spinning the news with their own biases or ignoring other stories that are generally important. On the other side, there are truly powerful influencers who seem to depend on finding the truth and reporting it.

The world becomes both chaos and danger, and the old “standing and stone” proverbs have proven false. Ultimately, we have been influenced by major policy changes driven by false claims, and are damaged and lost as a result of powerful people lying, but lying loudly, which has led us to lie frequently enough to believe in a large group of people. And convince these same groups that the opposite facts are actual “fake news.”

Fact check correction

Given how challenging the disinformation industry is, how slippery the truth today is, who can you hope to fight it? We recognize that all news is distorted to some extent and that people of all aspects believe in sources that support existing beliefs.

Third-party sources supported by overwhelming evidence are necessary to arbitrate. You should not give your opinion to the source, the way you do it should be transparent and everyone should be able to see the same thing. This is almost impossible, but the Web3 industry shows that these attributes have become very powerful. Smart Contracts process billions of dollars every day, managing contracts from complete strangers from anywhere in the world. The information is verified, the decision is transparent and locked through the blockchain. This model used these very powerful and neutral tools to travel trillions of dollars.

Combining this trust with other factors, Web3 is excellent at decentralising. Next, we’ll attach another accelerated technology, the AI agent. AI agents are designed to be easily built and perform one task very well. The system is at the heart of the Swarm Network model, with the first roll-up news. A growing population of AI agents, Swarm is designed to work collectively to scrutinize the corners of X, find claims from users, and collectively test validity using sources found in the information space. The results of these assessments are posted on a blockchain that has been verified by a large, large group of independent agents. Selective human participation helps ensure that context and other subtle areas are handled well. Additionally, the human element is decentralized, preventing a particular perspective from claiming itself, and if someone tries to present fiction as fact, misconduct equals expulsion. Rollup News has been running for several months, and amazing results: It has over 128,000 users and has over 5,000 rollup requests daily in July 2025. Over 3 million tweets have been processed in the meantime, which is impressive, but given the designed scalability of Web3 and AI Argent works together, this is a Linkpin for the battle in the world of innovation.

The beginning of something new?

The success of Rollup News and the larger model of Swarm Network tells us some about fixing issues today. This is a component that provides scalable solutions, demonstrating that central AI agents can effectively work together to solve huge challenges without a centralized system. A distributed environment fixed by Web3 is key to transparency, trust and ensuring strangers can work together anywhere in the world. Finally, tokenization of such systems creates the necessary incentives to attract more participants and drives the growth of the system. As long as it creates value, people pay for its use, and those who help validate and protect decentralized networks earn rewards. Truly a type of free market system can expand global demand faster than traditional companies. Yannick Myson, founder of Swarm Network, said, “Rollup News shows what is possible when AI agents, human insights, and blockchain converges. This is not a prototype. It’s working, it’s scaling.”

These lessons offer a lot of insight, so you need to pay close attention to these lessons. First, the “Truth Technology” sector, focusing on using technology to combat MIS/Information, has a powerful blueprint for combining blockchain with AI. Secondly, there are many other sectors that require this level of global scaling and independent management, ready to develop and launch immeasurable value.

Fashion empowerment or career risk?

0

The trend of “office sirens” revitalizing the styles worn for long periods of work has been attracting attention online thanks to Tiktok. In the form of an evolved power dressing, the aesthetic combines a steamy pencil skirt, smoky eyes, kitten heels, and early 2000s glamour.

In some workplaces, office siren aesthetics are seen as a confident embrace of personal style. Others can ask questions about professionalism, reliability, or leadership potential.

That tension raises a greater question: how does workplace fashion choices shape how women are perceived?

To answer this and learn more about trends, we spoke with career and leadership coach Phoebe Gavin.

What are the trends in office siren?

Popular on Tiktok under “Corp-Core” or “Girlboss 2.0”, Office Siren Look adds a more sexy and feminine twist with traditional office outfits.

“I define a standard corporate office dress code as merging with a sexy spin that shows a little more skin, a little more curved, a little more feminine, a little more (sexy), and a little more of that,” Gavin says.

Many view office silent trends as more than just a fashion statement. This is a form of self-expression for young professionals who participate in the workforce, and perhaps even a subtle form of rebellion.

“This has something to do with young professionals being rebels and wanting to change workplaces,” explains Gavin. “It’s also about personal expression. This is very important for this younger generation to enter the workforce and be authentic,” she adds.

Office siren styles allow young professionals to express their confidence and personality, but also create tension in a more traditional workplace.

Choices like sultry pencil skirts and bold makeup may be celebrated online, but in the office it can influence how colleagues and managers perceive professionalism and leadership possibilities.

“When we think about the workplace trends seen in this generation (people under the age of 30), the idea that it goes against this credibility and oppressive workplace norm, exploitative workplace norm.”

This is not necessarily a bad thing, but you need to clearly understand what it means and make decisions at work.

Is Office Silent Trends dangerous?

The office siren trends offer a form of self-expression, but can also come with unexpected workplace consequences. Many young professionals who adopt this style may not understand how they can shape credibility, authority, or perceptions of ideas.

“Unfortunately, many people in Tiktok who see this trend and bring it to their offices are not informed about it,” Gavin says.

Often, the people driving this trend are not people with experience in the corporate workplace, she explains. “They are people who make money from the scenery of Tiktok.”

What is the risk?

If you make this decision because you’re genuine and confident, but you’re overlooking potential outcomes, like being drawn into HR or rejecting ideas at meetings, it’s not a good thing, says Gavin.

While employees may argue that they should take the freedom they feel most comfortable with, office silent toks often clash with workplace bias – whether fair or not.

“Women are judged much more harshly in dressing in suggestive ways or in a more sexual way that draws attention,” she observes.

Even if an employee is perceived as less serious, competent or incompetent, even if his or her ideas could be discounted, they could be taken over for promotion or face workplace bullying and judgment from colleagues.

Performance ratings, including improvement plans and terminations, can also be influenced based on perceptions rather than merits.

According to a 2024 study published by the Journal of Applied Psychology, work colleagues increase your abilities and warmth based on your outfit, and those judgments affect your perception of your performance and how pleased they are to help you.

“In this situation, this is a choice people welcome, but unfortunately it’s very likely to cause some of these outcomes,” Gavin says.

Despite potential drawbacks, some employees may want to incorporate the siren-style elements of the office into their professional wardrobe.

The important thing is to make conscious choices.

“What you make for yourself is the right decision for you if you are doing it from an informed perspective,” she adds.

A Russian overnight attack on Kiev kills 10 and injures 38 people, Ukraine says

play

KYIV, Aug. 28 (Reuters) – Russian forces launched a massive overnight drone and missile attack on Kiev, killing 10 people, wounding 38 people and damaging homes and other buildings in seven districts, Ukrainian officials said Thursday.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said the attack that killed a child provided the Russian world’s answer to diplomacy in US President Donald Trump’s efforts to end the war.

“Russia chose ballistics instead of the negotiation table,” Zelensky said in X, calling for new sanctions against Russia. “I choose to continue killing instead of ending the war.”

Kyiv city officials reported at least 38 injuries as search and rescue operations are ongoing, and emergency services put out the fire and sifted through tiled bleeds on the destroyed building.

The explosion illuminated the night sky in the capital during air warnings, lasting for more than nine hours, with clouds of smoke covering the sky as drones roared overhead.

The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia has defeated 563 of the 598 drones launched in a nationwide attack and 26 of the 31 missiles.

The Air Force recorded hits in 13 locations, and debris fell in 26 locations.

“Unfortunately, the Russian style is typical of attacks,” wrote Timur Tokachenko, head of Kiev’s junta, in the telegram.

“Targets systematic, ordinary residential buildings, combined strikes from various directions.”

Russia, which denied targeting civilians, has intensified airstrikes in Ukrainian towns and cities far from the frontlines of the war in recent months.

Ukrainian officials listed a number of damaged buildings, including several high-rise apartment blocks.

In the Danitsky area, an eastern suburb, a five-storey building had been partially destroyed, Tkachenko said, and rescuers were searching for trapped residents in search of tiled rubs.

Emergency crews are working on the aftermath of attacks on more than 20 sites in the capital, he said.

Separately, Moscow’s defense ministry said that Russia’s air defense system intercepted and destroyed 102 Ukrainian drones targeting at least seven regions overnight.

In the overnight attack, Ukrainian forces attacked the oil refineries in Affipsky and Kybissivisky, according to the Ukrainian drone commander.

Hurricane Katrina and the culture of New Orleans 20 years from now

0

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina 20 years ago, many wondered whether the city’s unique culture, especially its food and music, would survive.

New Orleans – I recently took off to Louis Armstrong International Airport and immediately reminded me of how radically the city has changed over 20 years since Hurricane Katrina.

Getting off the plane, a sparkling $1.3 billion terminal was beckoned with Creole offerings from Leah’s Kitchen and Café Du Monde. There is a stunning two-storey Cypress Swamp mural. The curves and technology of a world-class facility are far from an aging terminal.

Then I went to get my rental car back.

After 15 minutes of waiting in the dazzling rain, the shuttle bus arrived. It took me 25 minutes to patrol the airport grounds before I could get me and other passengers to the car rental facility.

The charm of dysfunction. Some things in New Orleans may be different, but others remain stubbornly the same.

Musicians and unity will heal New Orleans 20 years after Katrina

The New Orleans musician will celebrate the 20th anniversary of rebuilding through Hurricane Katrina, civil rights, music and community.

I lived in New Orleans from 2007 to 2013 and at the time I report on the destruction that Katrina was born and the reconstruction from the failure of the federal levee. It is one of the most special places my wife and I have ever lived in and one of the most important stories I have ever featured.

Katrina cried out for athletics and field on the morning of August 29, 2005 as a Category 3 hurricane. It killed over 1,300 people. Many of them have adjusted for inflation in the lower 9th district of New Orleans, causing about $220 billion in damage. At the time, federal estimates showed that it was the most expensive hurricane of all time and one of the third highest deaths from recorded hurricanes in US history.

One pressing question early in the recovery was whether the city would retain its tradition and charm during the reconstruction. Will New Orleans hurry to spend billions of dollars on federal recovery money in its unique culture (about the very unique culture that visitors travel from all over the world)?

When I returned to town to report 20th Hurricane Katrina anniversary was one of the important questions I wanted to answer.

“Always room for another great restaurant”

To understand how the city’s food scene has evolved, I met Dickie Brennan, a third-generation restaurant that includes stable eateries, including some of New Orleans’ most iconic restaurants, including Bourbon House, The Comessary and Pascale Manar.

In the late afternoon, we sat in a rocking chair on the porch of his river-bearing house, watching the cargo ship slowly down the Mississippi River. Brennan spoke about his time at Katrina. He fled to Baton Rouge after the storm, but returned to the city five weeks later to reopen Bourbon House in the French quarter.

It was one of the first restaurants to open in town after Katrina. While New Orleans sat in the muddy ruins, Brennan and his crew provided journalists and first responders with half shells and redfish to wild catfish.

“We were there,” Brennan said. “Our instinct was, ‘Let’s just get there and do it.’ ”

Since then, 20 years have presented numerous challenges to the city’s restaurant scene, from visitor figures to shortages of infrastructure, such as schools and hospitals, to the coronavirus pandemic, which has further smashed the bottom of restaurants. But through this, the city’s restaurant scene somehow thrived. It is estimated that the number of restaurants in New Orleans jumped to more than 1,200 from 800 before Katrina to 2018.

One challenge to the nature of urban culinary traits is neighbourhood gentrification. Entrepreneurs across the United States have descended to New Orleans after Katrina. However, the influx threatened to distill a distinctive Creole dish.

Brennan said he was a fake to the newcomer.

He was referring to Magazine Street, a retail corridor in the Garden District, which welcomed quality restaurants after Katrina (Shaya, Dacarnola). He said that independent restaurants bringing new ideas and flavours are good for cities built on a constantly evolving culture and taste.

“If I see Red Lobster on Magazine Street, I’m pissed,” he said. “We’re not competing with each other. We’re competing with the rest of the world. This is a great restaurant town. There’s always space for another great restaurant.”

In many ways, this is a superpower in New Orleans. It absorbs newcomers and their culture and strums unique sounds and flavors.

The strong hit Bamboolas By enslaved people in the 19 cities of Congo Squareth The century may have leaked into the surrounding area and influenced early jazz. Spanish soldiers occupying colonial New Orleans used local ingredients for their beloved paella to produce jambalaya (although some culinary scholars place their culinary origins in West Africa). And refugees from the slave rebellion in Sandoming (now Haiti) clearly infused Caribbean talent and tradition, including voodoo.

However, Katrina led the city’s heritage to the ultimate test, and took charge of its culture, scattering chefs, artists, Mardi Greindians and musicians around the country.

Without musicians, New Orleans won’t survive.

Ben Jaffe knew that the increased alarms in the aftermath of Katrina had caused the musicians to escape from flooded cities without resources to rebuild or return.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Jaffe manages the conservation hall, a well-known French Quarter venue dedicated to preserving the original New Orleans Jazz and co-founding by parents Alan and Sandra Jaffe.

I was raised at 19th– Jaffey, 54 years old, next door, the carriage house of the next century grew up around musicians, and many of them knew it would be difficult to return after Katrina.

One day, I met Jaffe in the back room of the legendary venue over the summer. Behind him was a framed photo of drummer Shannon Powell on top of the grand piano, and Jaffe was wearing a t-shirt decorated with a photo of 93-year-old saxophonist Charlie Gabriel.

Jaffe got into his car in his apartment just outside the French quarter, then reached his car, went to Baton Rouge and Lafayette, stayed on his friend’s couch and checked in the refugees. He eventually headed to New York City where he began to think about how to bring the musician back to New Orleans.

Jaffe is Kermit Ruffins, Irma Thomas, and Dr. I realized that New Orleans wouldn’t survive without artists like John and Allen Toussaint.

“All these people become symbols of the reconstruction process,” he said. “I realised very early on. Once we get the musicians back, everyone comes back with them.”

Exclusive Book: How Katrina Changed All of us

Jaffe created the Hurricane Relief Fund, a New Orleans musician. This raised money to help local artists return and rebuild through profit concerts. Slowly, the musician returned to town.

The preservation hall reopened and tourists were soon returning. Live music once again filled the music halls from River Bend to Bywater.

But the day passes without considering the floods that Jaffe has engulfed his city.

“A lot of people didn’t get through the storm,” he said. “A lot of people haven’t returned to town. It’s those people who get me out of bed every day. It’s those people’s memories that do what I do every day.

“There’s something like this wound. It’s not soothing at all. It’s like a reminder of all that pain.”

“It’s from New Orleans.”

Jaffe walked me next to a 3-storey 19th century house. There, the construction crew carefully pioneered the dry walls and hammer. Through the success of Preservation Hall and its band of the same name (where Jaffe plays a Sousaphone playing a tuba-like instrument worn over the torso), Jaffe has developed a 10,000-square-foot structure, developing it into a community center where young musicians can learn and execute traditional New Orleans sounds.

He admits this idea to Katrina.

“I wouldn’t have thought about this unless it was for Katrina,” Jaffe said. “I probably didn’t think of this extensively.”

Later that night, I went back to the preservation hall and watched standards like “St. Louis Blues,” “Li’l Liza Jane,” and “His Eye Is The Sparrow.” Many tourists watched with awe.

After the show I drove around the dark city. I went back to the French Quarter with a fern-setting live oaks column, passing by by Water and Marigny neighborhoods, after Katrina, Hypestar’s brunch spot and art gallery that sprouted over Esplanade Avenue.

As I did, Allen Toussaint’s “It’s New Orleans” has come second to be a community-supported radio station that helps keep the city’s music culture alive.

“There’s a bit of Tipitina wherever I’m…

Everyone in New Orleans knows exactly what I mean. ”

I drove slowly along Royal Street. A man in his twenties, wearing a gorgeous wrought iron Spanish-style balcony and a white short-sleeved shirt and black tie, passing me on his bike, a glittering trombone balanced by the handlebars.

“That’s New Orleans…

Just because you leave town won’t leave you…”

Everything is different. And everything is still the same.

Google Vids Gets AI Avatars and Inter-Images Tools

0

Google is deploying ra, a powerful new generation AI feature from VIDS, designed to remove pain from video creation.

While spending hours wrestling with complex software, finding someone willing to be on camera, and editing all the “ums” and “ahs”, video production often finds itself in more trouble than it is worth. Google aims to change that story with Vids.

So far, it seems they’re finding an audience. Google has announced that VIDS has already taken rockets past one million monthly active users. This is a clear indication that teams are screaming for an easier way to make their ideas come true on video.

Your photo is now moving, the avatar talks

Some of the latest additions allow static images to be transformed into movies. Imagine having some great photos of a new product. But we need something more appealing to our social media posts and presentations. You can upload that photo to VIDS and enter a quick prompt explaining what you want to happen. Google’s VEO AI transforms it into an 8-second animation clip with sound. This is an easy way to create eye-catching, branded content in minutes.

For those who are afraid to be on camera, the new AI avatar is a welcome relief. This feature allows you to create sophisticated videos without having to step into the front of the lens. Write a script, choose from a digital presenter selection, and AI handles the delivery. Perfect for creating consistent training guides, product demos, or team updates. Don’t worry about lighting, background noise, or re-recording 20 takes to get it right.

Google is also working on the boring editing tasks. A new automatic transcript trimming tool will listen to the recording and cut off all the filler words and nasty silence with just a few clicks. From a lot of experience, it saves a lot of time.

Based on this, the company confirmed that familiar tools from Google Meet (such as noise cancellation, custom background, and appearance filters) are expected to arrive next month. Google Vids will soon support portrait and square formats, making it easier to create content for a variety of platforms.

Get started with Google Vids

With these new tools, Google is trying to make video creation as routine as building a slide deck.

The company is expanding access to Google VIDS, making it accessible to more workspace customers in their business and education plans. Better yet, the basic version of the VIDS editor is completely free to all consumers and offers a variety of templates to help you create something from tutorials to party invitations.

To speed up everyone, Google has also launched a new “Vids on Vids” instruction series. The video guide will showcase the entire process, showcase the best features and provide practical tips to help you quickly create content that looks professional.

The real business sees profit

The company is already working. It is used for employee safety training at Mercer International, a global manufacturing company.

“We’re looking forward to seeing you in the future,” said Alistair Skey, CIO at Mercer International. “Google Vids gave us the ability to create and curate safety content developed and curated by our organization, rather than having to go to the market to hire very expensive resources to produce it for us.”

It is also a story of speed and scale. Forest Donovan, a full story on the data platform, was impressed with the increased efficiency. “The amount of (high shiny) content that usually takes weeks and can be made in a few hours was amazing,” he said.

By embedding these powerful, simple AI tools directly into your workspace suite, Google claims that video is no longer an exclusive domain for professional creative teams. It has become a fundamental tool for everyday communication, and these updates have made it accessible to everyone.
