What Powerball Number should I choose? This is what America does.

Collingswood, N.J. — It was a steady stream of big dreamers among customers who stopped by a speedy mart in the evening for cigarettes, fried chicken, snacks and soft drinks.

Powerball Lottery Jackpot reached $1.3 billion as of September 2nd, and many people who stopped by Collingswood in Jaywin Patel, New Jersey wanted to win (at least for a significant portion). According to the Powerball website, their chances may be slimmer than a slice of deli meat from Patel’s counter, but the chances of winning a painting jackpot on September 3rd are 1 in 292.2 million.

“We get a lot of winners,” said Patel, who owns another speedy mart in Audubon, a few miles away. “I sold a $200,000 scratch-off a while ago.” He wasn’t sure what his share would be like to sell tickets worth more than $1 billion, but he smiled just thinking about it.

The customers who came to buy tickets for the picture were also smiling.

The secret formula for choosing a winning number – at least for those who have not let the machine choose a random number – is apparently the date of birth, especially the random numbers of the player’s children and grandchildren.

A 2023 Cambridge University survey found that players tend to choose numbers that have personal connections. Cultural influences can also play a role, with some numbers being considered good or bad in various traditions.

“Players are personally believing in situational availability numbers that are meaningful and attracted to numbers at the heart of the selection form,” the author writes. “Frequent players avoid winnings from recent draws, while rare players chase after them. The combination of numbers is formed in an aesthetic eye, and players tend to spread relatively evenly within the range possible.”

Everyone has their own strategy when choosing numbers

Reynaldo Almodovar, who works in the hospital’s housekeeping department, purchased tickets worth $20 for him and his wife. He lets the lottery machine choose, but gives Patel a paper slip with a circle number for his wife’s ticket. If either of them hit a big jackpot, he, his wife and his family lived a good life and he helped “people who are less fortunate than me” but he wasn’t sure how to do it other than “something, the basics, it would last longer.”

Matt Martin has already won the Powerball once. Well, sort of.

“I got my Powerball number and last time I got $4,” he said with a laugh. If he wins, he says he will help his loved ones (“I have a big family”) and enjoys it, saying “I don’t have to worry about money anymore.”

“I’m a simple guy,” one father said. “I wouldn’t dream of turning it into more (money). I might get a coastal home,” perhaps near my parents’ home in Rehoboth, Delaware.

Ed Miller – “Miller, like beer, but not so rich, still“He had bought his tickets and was planning to join the office pool at the auto collision store where he works. He said this time he chose numbers based on the birthdays of his two grandchildren, and he let the machine choose numbers.

If he won, he said, “Many of my friends and family would retire” because he had planned to “share wealth.”

Jackpot is the largest since April 2024

No one has matched all six Powerball numbers on the previous two drawings weekly since May 31st to 40th – no one has matched all six Powerball numbers. This jackpot is the largest as it earned $1.326 billion in April 2024. Is it the biggest Powerball jackpot? Over $2 billion won in November 2022.

Hampton, Virginia, landmark beachside grocery stores were bustling after $2 million in Powerball tickets were sold on August 30th. The winners hadn’t made it yet, but the store owners didn’t want to find another property in the Patriot corner, the store owner said.

“A lot of people yesterday said, ‘Yes, I know Lightning won’t attack twice, but sometimes it does. I have luck here,” Katherine Roy told the Portsmouth Herald, part of the USA Today Network. “We definitely enjoy it and enjoy the little boost with the infamousness that brought it to the store.”

Ruby Jumper said he plans to buy two Powerball tickets after quitting his job on September 3rd.

The 40-year-old hotel worker from Mercedes, Texas, said he asked one of his three children to choose two numbers. She chose four others in honor of her grandmother, including the month and date she was born and the month and date she passed away.

“Hopefully it’s a hit,” Jumper told USA Today.

Jumper said if she wins, she would spend the money to drive the family out of the apartment, buy a new car and store the rest for the child’s future.

“There’s a few changes going on around here,” she said. “This is a hope that many Americans need.”

House GOP will create a new committee for January 6th

The original bipartisan Jan. 6 committee conclusions include a detective introduction to President Trump, accusing him of inciting the riot.

WASHINGTON – The Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted for the party’s line on August 3 to create a special panel to reexamine the events of the January 6, 2021 rebellion.

The creation of a new subcommittee that challenges Republicans is an escalation of the rewrite of the Party of Historical in a deadly attack on the Capitol. Historic attacks by several supporters of President Donald Trump disrupt the peaceful transfer of power after former President Joe Biden won the 2020 election.

In 2022, 18 months after investigating the events leading up to the rebellion, the original home on January 6th committee discovered that Trump was the “central cause” of the riot. A panel of lawmakers decided to unanimously issue four criminal referrals to Trump to the Justice Department, denounced the conspiracy to fraud the United States, and sparked a rebellion.

Two Republicans and seven Democrats on the committee have been appointed by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California – a series of dramatic hearings on their findings portraying millions of viewers. Kevin McCarthy, the then-minority leader of the Republican Party, retracted his choice to serve the committee.

The new House Judiciary Committee subcommittee will be chaired by Rep. Barry Loudermilk of R-Georgia. Republicans can choose the majority of their members, but the composition of the rest of the panel is determined by Congressional leaders.

Harvard wins court victory over the Trump administration in fundraising battle

  • A federal judge ruled in Harvard’s favor in lawsuits against the Trump administration.
  • The judge said the administration appears to be using anti-Semitism as a “smoke screen” for ideologically motivated actions.

A federal judge gave Harvard a victory in the legal battle with the Trump administration, ruling with Ivy League Schools in an attempt to restore nearly $3 billion in federal funds for research by the White House.

The decision from US District Judge Alison Burrows in Boston on September 3 rejected the administration’s argument that it targeted university funds due to anti-Semitism allegations on Harvard’s campus.

The judge wrote in his 84-page ruling, “It is difficult to conclude anything other than that the defendant used anti-Semitism as a smokescreen for a targeted, ideologically motivated attack on the country’s finest universities.”

This decision is a big victory for Harvard, the only university to bring the White House to court. While the Trump administration has argued for a legal battle over campus anti-Semitism, Harvard has seen its larger battle over its overall academic freedom and federal spending.

“We must fight anti-Semitism, but we must protect our rights, including our rights to free speech, and we do not need to sacrifice our goals at the altar of others,” Burrows said. “It appears Harvard is currently taking the necessary steps to combat anti-Semitism, even if it’s late, and that it needs to do more if necessary.”

The judge also added, “Now that stepping up likewise and acting to protect academic and freedom of speech in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution, and to ensure that important research is voluntarily breached, is in charge of government responsibilities left to the task, to ensure that it does not inappropriately interfere with the termination of the grant.”

On July 21, the day of hearing between Harvard University and the Trump administration, the president criticized the judge in a true social post, calling Burrows a “complete disaster.” Trump also said if the ruling is not in his favor, he will “appeal immediately and win.”

Harvard did not immediately respond to USA Today’s request for comment. However, the White House condemned the ruling, telling USA Today that Trump was right in his social media posts, and that Obama-appointed judge Burrows is always trying to control Harvard.

“To a fair observer, it is clear that Harvard University did not protect students from harassment, and that discrimination has allowed campus for years to plague,” White House spokesman Liz Houston said in an emailed statement. “As Harvard does not have any taxpayer constitutional rights, future grants remain ineligible.

“We will soon move to appeal this terrible decision, and we are confident that we will ultimately win the efforts to hold Harvard accountable,” Huston added.

Will the months of conflict end?

The Trump administration has frozen or terminated federal grants and contracts for universities worth nearly $3 billion. Harvard has repeatedly said that it “cannot absorb the overall cost” of the freeze grant, and that it was working together to help researchers find alternative funds.

After rejecting the Trump administration’s requests, including audits, and closing the “met-based” admission and employment policy establishment, university diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program, the administration announced it would cut Harvard’s federal funding.

Harvard sued the Trump administration in April over its decision to cut funds. The parties later agreed to participate in settlement consultations and court hearings.

During that hearing in July, the Trump administration said it was power to cancel grants and contracts because it felt Harvard University was not doing enough in its belief to combat campus anti-Semitism against unconfirmedness. They argued Burrows in July that granting federal research funds to the agency was not “charitable appeal.”

They also argued that “Harvard has prioritized protesters on campus over cancer research.”

In her ruling, Burrows said there was no investigation into whether certain labs were engaged in anti-Semitic behavior, employing Jews, run by Jewish scientists, and specifically investigating issues and illnesses related to Jews.

The judge further stated that “a freeze in funding could and possibly harm the accused of those who have publicly declared they are protecting.”

Burroughs also wrote that the Trump administration “failed to provide a reasonable explanation for how or why the freeze and termination funds would end the goal of ending anti-Semitism, comparing the impact of grants they were trying to end, and considering reliable decades through previous practices of fundraising research at Harvard.”

The judge added in her ruling that even if Harvard could afford to absorb the loss of funds, the university “subject to proper establishment that members would cause concrete harm through the end of the grant.”

DIY car maintenance for beginners

0

play

Maintaining your own car is a great way to get to know your car. It also helps you save a lot of money over time.

The most difficult part about working in your own car is getting started. The vast number of parts in a car can be intimidating, but once you get used to working with the vehicle, you feel confident. Here are some tips for maintaining your own car.

Which tools do you need to repair a DIY car?

Before you begin, make sure you have the right tools. You will need a standard tool set, a socket set, and several different types of wrench. This should be sufficient to tighten and loosen most nuts or bolts you encounter. More serious projects will require more advanced gear, such as tire jacks, jack stands, impact wrenches and other high-end tools. But as long as you have the right tools at the right occasion, you’re ready.

Do you need safety equipment to repair your car?

No matter what you’re working on, safety should always come first. Keep your hands clean and make sure you have gloves to release them from the liquid you are encountering. Safety goggles are useful to wear when protecting your eyes. First aid kits are a good item in case you hurt yourself while working in the car.

Start small

Once you start working in your own car, don’t start with something too complicated, like changing oil or changing headlights. Start with something easier, like replacing the windshield wiper blades or replacing the tires. Easy tasks are not intimidating and can help you build confidence to tackle something more challenging in the future.

Patience is the key to automatic repairs

For a variety of reasons, some jobs may take longer than expected. When starting your own maintenance, some things can be a little difficult. Do not hurry and make sure everything is done correctly. Recheck, triple check, and you need it whenever and when you need it to make sure everything was done correctly.

Ask for help if necessary

If the work you are working on is too much to handle, don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you have friends or family members who have experience modifying your car, please call and ask questions. It would be even better if they live nearby and can help you directly.

Find it online

If you’re lost and don’t know what to do next, you can always search the internet. Whatever problem you encounter with your car, there may be a tutorial on how to solve it, or a forum discussing what you need to do. Even if it’s something you’ve done before or a task, some additional tips will never hurt.

Don’t forget the owner’s manual

The average car owner cannot read the owner’s manual and does not understand the important information that is missing. The manual has almost everything you need to know about a particular make and model. You can find information such as the type of liquid your vehicle needs, the exact length of the windshield wiper, and other important information. Always keep the manual in a place where you can find it, especially before you start working in your car.

Car maintenance can be intimidating, but after starting with a few simple projects, you can gain more experience. The more you work in the car, the more you learn about the vehicle and how to keep it running. This also helps save a lot of money you’d probably have gone to a dealer or repair shop.

Hegseth, Rubio promises more military strikes over drug targets

0

Secretaries of Defense Pete Hegses and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have further promised military operations against drug cartels.

play

  • The US strike on September 2nd killed 11 people on a Venezuelan ship that is allegedly carrying drugs.
  • The Pentagon has not released any details about its crew and why did it choose to kill the people on board?
  • Mary Ellen O’Connell, an expert on international law and the use of force at Notre Dame, said the operation “violated the fundamental principles of international law.”

Mexico City – A senior US official said military operations against the cartels will continue and set the stage for a sustained military campaign in Latin America, despite basic questions about a fatal strike on ships from Venezuela remain unanswered.

On September 2, the US military killed 11 people in a strike on a ship from Venezuela, where President Donald Trump was the first known operation since the recent deployment of warships into the Southern Caribbean, killing 11 people in a ship strike from Venezuela allegedly carrying illegal drugs.

Little is known about the strike, including what legal justifications were used or which drugs were on board, but U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Heggs said the business would continue.

“We have assets in the air, assets in the water, assets in the water, and assets in ships. This is a deadly, serious mission for us, and this strike alone won’t stop,” Hegses said of Fox & Friends on September 3.

“We’ll face the same fate of being designated narcoterrorists in those waters we know,” Heggs said.

He refused to provide details about how the operations were performed, saying they were classified. It is unknown whether the vessel was destroyed using a drone, torpedo or other means.

Speaking in Mexico City, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said a similar strike would “come again.”

“Maybe that’s what’s happening right now, but I don’t know, but the important thing is that the US president is going to go into a war with Narco terrorist organizations,” Rubio said.

Without providing evidence, Trump said on September 2, the US military identified the ship’s crew as members of Venezuelan gangster Tren de Aragua.

The next day, he told reporters in the oval office that “a massive amount of drugs” had been found on the boat.

“We’re talking about their tapes,” Trump said. “A lot of drugs have come to our country to kill a lot of people, and everyone understands it perfectly. In fact, you see it, you see a bag of drugs throughout the boat,” Trump said.

The Pentagon has not released any details about its crew and why did it choose to kill the people on board?

Presidents of both major political parties have insisted on the authority to use the military for a restricted strike when there was a threat to the United States in the past.

Rubio added that “boats filled with cocaine or fentanyl” are an immediate threat to the United States, and that Trump has the right to “eliminate (that) under exaggerated circumstances.”

Mary Ellen O’Connell, an international law expert and a use of force at the University of Notre Dame, said Tuesday’s operation “violated the fundamental principles of international law.”

“The fact that there was an attack on the high seas is irrelevant. What’s related is that the US had no right to intentionally kill these suspects,” she said.

Maduro, Venezuela, “You need to worry”

The decision to blow up a suspected drug ship through the Caribbean is very unusual, instead of seizing the ship and arresting the crew, and evoking memories of the US battle with extremist groups such as al-Qaeda.

The US has deployed warships in the southern Caribbean for recent weeks, with the aim of tracking Trump’s pledge to crack down on drug cartels.

Seven US warships and one nuclear-powered high-speed attack submarine are expected to be in the area or soon there, carrying more than 4,500 sailors and Marines. The US Marines and seafarers of the 22nd Marine Corps Expeditionary Force have conducted amphibious training and flight operations in southern Puerto Rico.

When asked about Venezuela’s close ties with China, Hegses targeted Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro.

“The only person to worry about is Nicolas Maduro. In effect, he’s a drug-narcotic kingpin,” Heggs said.

Last month, the Trump administration doubled the reward for information that led to Maduro’s arrest by $50 million, and denounced him for linking drug trafficking and criminal groups.

Venezuelan officials say the Caribbean accumulation is intended to justify intervention against them, and Maduro has accused Trump of seeking a “change of administration.”

The strike drew skepticism from some of Venezuelan opponents.

“How did they know there were 11 people? Did they count them? How did they know they were Venezuelans? Did their ID cards float in the sea after that?” Former opposition presidential candidate Henrique Capriles told Reuters.

What all car buyers need to know

0

play

You may not believe this, but many people don’t know how to read stickers on car windows. I first noticed it while showing my car to a customer, and he walked over to the window sticker and pointed to the base price. This is usually in the upper right corner and I asked, “Is this the price?”

“No,” I replied. “You will need to add all the options listed below. Also, you will be billing your destination. Prices are below here.”

Now I don’t think he was playing stupidly trying to lower my price (it’s always a possibility). I don’t think he really knew. And after several more years and a few more people asked me the same question, I realized this is a common problem.

Sometimes called Monronney after the Oklahoma Senator who created it in the 1950s, but the car window sticker is a great documentary. It includes almost everything you need to know about the car you are thinking of buying. The interesting thing is that not only do many customers don’t know how to read, but salespeople often avoid showing them. I think this is because the prices are displayed. But in my opinion, that’s wrong. Because that’s because the sales points are loaded.

Car window stickers list all the standard features of all cars as well as options or additional equipment added by the manufacturer. Also, government crash test ratings, average fuel economy, annual fuel cost, smog ratings, vehicle creation, percentage of parts from the US, what is the warranty, how much it costs manufacturers to deliver the vehicle to the dealer, VIN (vehicle identification number), Manufacturer’s Proposed Retail Price (MSRP). The only thing window stickers don’t tell you is the dealer’s cost and how much you pay after all the hugglyns have been made.

About MSRP and other information

Like crazy, I have let my clients ask if MSRP is something they pay after taxes and fees. However, taxes and fees vary from state to state and county, so manufacturers were unable to know about it. It is also important to remember that MSRP is exactly what it says: the proposed retail price. This means that the manufacturer thinks the dealer can sell the vehicle. However, dealers can sell their vehicles for less or more if they feel that the market is justifying it. Finally, MSRP is not a fake or “constitution” number, but a product of many research by manufacturers.

It’s one of the most difficult documents you come across, as so much information is packed into window stickers. All brands’ window stickers have slightly different designs, but are usually divided into two parts. One side provides general information about the vehicle, including fuel economy and crash test assessments conducted by the NHTSA, or national highway transportation and safety management, which allocates multiple stars to each vehicle. If you see a sticker without a star, it doesn’t mean that the vehicle is unsafe. That means that a particular model has undergone a new or recent major redesign, and the government has yet to have time to test it.

Detailed product information can be found on the other side of the window sticker. Usually this is divided into sections, with one section showing all the standard equipment that the vehicle has with it, including engine type, transmission, brakes, and safety features. This is where you know if your car has blind spot detection (or blind spot monitor) or any other important features you are looking for.

Trim level monitoring and ADM

That side is sometimes placed in a separate column, and also shows options added to that model, such as two-tone paint and towing packages. Things get a little harder here. All manufacturers have what they call trim levels, such as base, premium, limited, and tours. Some brands use letter combinations such as S, SE, and SEL. The best way to understand trim levels is like a donut. There are things that are plain, flashy, and far more flashy and flashy than you can afford.

Each trim level comes with a set of standard features such as fabric and leather upholstery, four- or six-cylinder engines, and manually adjustable seats or power seats. But just to confuse things, many manufacturers add individual or optional packages to the trim level using flashy names such as the ultimate comfort package, such as the moonroof, upgraded audio system, automatic reduction mirrors, bumper covers, and gold-plated with-geebit. So, we’re comparing two vehicles with the same trim level and both look essentially the same, but the prices are different. This part of the window sticker tells you why.

One warning. Some unscrupulous dealers create fake borders around window stickers that resemble typefaces, graphics and colors in every respect on the manufacturer’s stickers. This boundary lists additional items such as special coatings, wheel locks, and adjusted dealer markup. These are the dealer-added additions, but they look like they are part of the manufacturer’s stickers. They aren’t.

Think of window stickers as your secret weapon. Most dealers have links on their websites to each of their new vehicle window stickers. All you have to do is click on it. If you can read it, you can become an expert on the vehicle you are thinking of. Long before I stepped into the car.

Three states are dumping RFK’s CDC with new vaccine alliances

California, Oregon and Washington have formed a new West Coast Health Alliance in response to the upheaval and changing vaccine guidance at the CDC.

  • California, Oregon and Washington have formed the West Coast Health Alliance to provide science-based health guidance.
  • The alliance was created in response to what the governor calls the politicalization of the CDC under the Trump administration.
  • The group will provide residents of three states with their own recommendations regarding vaccination and vaccine safety.

Health officials in California, Oregon and Washington have formed a new West Coast Health Alliance in response to changing federal guidance on vaccines and disruptions at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The alliance’s goal is to “ensure that residents are protected by science, not politics,” according to a September 3 joint announcement from California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek and Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson.

Three Democrat governors said the alliance will provide recommendations to residents regarding vaccination, ensuring that the public receive reliable information on vaccine safety and efficacy. The governor was called The alliance is a unified response to what they called the Trump administration’s “destroy” of the CDC, and federal agencies Vaccine guidance.

“President Trump’s mass shootings of CDC doctors and scientists and his blatant politicization of institutions are a direct attack on the health and safety of the American people,” the governor said in a statement. “The CDC has become a political tool to increase the promotion of ideology instead of science, ideology that leads to serious health impacts.

The announcement came on the same day that a group of employees of more than 1,000 current and former Department of Health employees issued a letter calling for Chief Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to resign.

A September 3 letter to Kennedy and Congress said Kennedy “continues to put the country’s health at risk.” Kennedy’s HHS has been the subject of several controversy, including cuts in funding for mRNA vaccine development and the apparent conflict that led to the firing of White House CDC Director Susan Monares.

Kennedy has been a longtime vaccine skeptic, spreading conspiracy theories and misinformation about vaccines, pediatric illnesses and COVID-19.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump called for an immediate release of internal corporate data in his Truth Social Post on September 1, demanding that he “justify success” in the fight against the Covid-19 virus.

“Many people think they’re a miracle that saved millions of lives. Others don’t agree!” Trump said of the Covid-19 vaccine created by Pfizer, Moderna and other pharmaceutical companies. “I want the answer because the CDC is torn apart with this question, but I want it now.”

The West Coast Alliance Wants “Science-Based Recommendations”

The West Coast Health Alliance said it will adjust health guidelines by adjusting vaccination recommendations notified by respected national healthcare agencies.

“This will allow residents to receive consistent science-based recommendations that they can rely on, regardless of changing federal government behavior,” they said.

In June, Kennedy fired all 17 members of the CDC Advisory Panel, creating recommendations on who should be vaccinated, replacing many of them with so-called vaccine skeptics. Newsom, Kotek and Ferguson denounced the move.

On August 27, the Food and Drug Administration set stricter guidelines on who can receive the latest Covid-19 vaccine, recommending shots only for people over the age of 65 or with existing health issues.

Previously, almost everyone could get vaccinated after six months or more. These changes can hinder access to vaccines, as health insurance companies usually only cover vaccines recommended by the CDC.

“If federal agencies abandon evidence-based recommendations in favor of ideology, we cannot go the same path,” Washington Health Secretary Dennis Warsham said in a statement. “Our commitment is to the health and safety of our community, protecting lives through prevention and not succumbing to unfounded theory that dismisses decades of proven public health practices.”

The alliance will “confirm shared principles to strengthen public confidence in vaccines and public health” in the coming weeks, they said.

“Together, our state relies on the best science and knowledge available to protect public health, including scientific information about vaccination,” Newsom said in a statement. “We have serious concerns about the integrity and transparency of future federal vaccine recommendations and will continue to work together to ensure that science and healthy medicine prioritize it to prevent the loss of life.”

The Army may have stopped mass shootings of main, the lawsuit says.

0

play

Survivors and families of the victims killed in Maine’s most deadly mass shooting have sued the federal government, claiming that they were able to prevent the US military from carrying out the rampage that killed 18 people.

Filming occurred on October 25, 2023, when 40-year-old Robert Card fired at a bar and bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine. He was found dead two days after the massacre from a massacre gunshot wound.

The lawsuit filed on September 2 alleges that Army officials, local police and others were aware of Card’s worsening mental health and increasingly unstable behavior and failed to properly intervene.

“The Army knew he had access to the firearms. The army had promised to remove his gun, but he failed to fulfill that promise,” the lawsuit says. “What’s worse, through its actions and omissions, the military withheld information and actively mislead local law enforcement, thereby preventing others from intervening and separating the cards from his weapon.”

The Army refused to respond to the lawsuit and said it had not commented on the pending lawsuit as a policy issue.

Official reports include details of the failure that led to massive shootings

The Independent Committee, founded by Maine Governor Janet Mills, released a report on the shooting in August 2024. This allegedly involved several failures by Army personnel and local police forces taking steps to seize firearms on cards and intervening when they experienced a mental health crisis.

The report details the months leading up to the shooting in which fellow reserves and families told authorities that the cards became delusional, threatened violence and owned a weapons cache.

At one point he was admitted to a mental hospital in Katona, New York, where he said he had a “hit list” and medical professionals determined he had a “sight to murder.” Nevertheless, he was released from the hospital 19 days later.

A few weeks before the shooting, Card’s friend, who was in his spare unit, contacted the unit’s command after the card had attacked him violently and said he was worried that his friend would “we’re going to snap and do mass shootings.”

Army officials communicated their concerns to local law enforcement, and the Army Reserve Medicine Management Center also tried to reach the card for his treatment. The day before the shooting, the Army Reserve Psychological Health Program was called a card, but he did not answer.

The Army has released its own report detailing several lapses on how the card’s reading units dealt with the reserve’s spiral mental health. The report detailed the gap between procedural failure and communication, resulting in at least three officers discipline in the gunman’s chain of command.

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, once one of the most qualified and well-known bachelor’s degrees in the Senate, announced his engagement to real estate director Alexis Lewis on September 2.

Booker shared photos from the couple’s Hawaiian proposal in a social media post Tuesday.

“Alexis is one of the greatest raised blessings of my life. She has transformed me, has found the joy of bringing my inner life together and centring it on the ground, and building a home that you will nurture with the people you love,” writes Booker.

The 56-year-old former mayor of Newark, New Jersey, writes, “I have a taste of the wonders that affirm the soul of everyday life with my partner, best friend and now my fiancée.”

According to his office, the state senator has been from Washington, D.C. for about 16 months. A New York University graduate, Lewis holds an MBA from Cornell University. Booker and Lewis were wearing cash registers adjusted with snaps from the Showsade series, which looked like they were made on the beach.

Booker pointed to Lewis’ engagement ring in the first photo of the coastal carousel, but another photo shows Booker suggesting it on another lap. In other photos, Booker carries Lewis and they embrace another posed photo.

He added, “We are excited about this journey, very enjoyable and we are deeply grateful for the love, support and energy that many people have shared with us.”

“We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such a beautiful community that lifts us up with love and commitment,” Booker wrote. In the story released last month, Booker gave a Washington examiner an inside look at his life with his future wife.

He told the examiner that Lewis asked him to open a “for you” page in his Tiktok, featuring customized proposals via algorithms, on one of his first dates.

“I held my breath when I opened it and she was able to watch videos of animals, nerds, who I love food videos,” Booker said.

“I’ve never thought about it through dating lenses, so it was just a funny moment, but here after a year and a half, we’re still together,” Booker said of Lewis. He also revealed in an interview that the pair live together in Washington, DC.

Booker previously dated Hollywood actress Rosario Dawson for over two years. This included star-studded additions to his short-lived run for the 2020 Democratic nomination. With two red heart emojis.

California wildfires burned thousands of acres of flames and encouraged evacuations, including historic Chinese camp towns.

The 6-5 fire in Tuolm County, about 115 miles northeast of San Jose, consumed 6,473 acres as of 5:27am on Wednesday, September 3rd, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention, also known as the CAL Fire.

Fire is not included yet.

The 6-5 fire was combined with the TCU’s September lightning fire. This includes six other fires that have collected 2-7 fires nearby, collectively burning a total of 12,473 acres. The fire is burning in multiple locations in Calaveras and Tuolum counties.

“The forced evacuation order is being implemented as the widespread warnings are further expanded,” Cal Fire said on its website. “The Incident Command required important resources such as engines, dozers, crews, aircraft, and more, as fires burn at dangerous speeds and threaten multiple structures.”

What caused the 6-5 fire? When did it start?

According to Cal Fire, the fire is believed to have been caused by lightning.

The fire was discovered on Tuesday, September 2nd, at 8:23pm local time.

A house destroyed in the fire

Several homes have been damaged or destroyed Due to a fire in a camp town in China, according to NBC News and local news outlet KCRA. The country town was California’s Gold Rush Town, where Chinese miners who had been kicked out of nearby camps settled around 1850.

Cal Fire also does not list the number of structures destroyed by fire, and no injuries or deaths have been reported.

Which fires are included in the TCU September Lightning Fire?

As of early Wednesday, September 3rd, the TCU’s complex lightning fire in September consists of the following fires, according to the Cal Fire.

Cadillac Celestiq is a $400,000 masterpiece that redefines art

When Michigan’s first resident, Mark Mitchell, received the ultra-luxurious handmade Cadillac Celestique, he bought more than his car when he accepted the delivery.

One of the first versions of the brand’s first all-electric sedan, his Celestiq offers a similar cultural cache to buying fine art.

Mitchell said that he accepted delivery last month at Duxton Hotel, a four-star luxury hotel owned in Birmingham, was “a very proud moment for me.”

“When it’s delivered here at my hotel, the moment is even more special, reflecting the strong relationship we’ve built with Cadillac,” he said. “The vehicle exceeded my expectations completely.”

Most Celestiq buyers remain anonymous for privacy. Prices from $400,000 for model 2026 will increase in response to a 18.1-foot-long four-seater with 23-inch wheels, with the first Celestiq to be delivered around the beginning of 2024, but are reportedly hit snuggles in the production process.

Cadillac spokesman Joe Singer has been described as an “ultra-low volume” production vehicle for “large customers” and the brand is expected to produce less than 500 vehicles a year.

He said only 25 people will be made this year, and Cadillac has the ability to build two a day.

The less the better

Collectors of American luxury cars don’t have many options. This is what Ethan Gibson, director of North American Communications at RM Sotheby’s, the world’s largest automotive luxury auction house, said that the Cadillac’s historic longevity is what makes today’s vehicles so valuable.

“Some of the most important prewar markings like the Duesenberg and Packard, the big luxury cars that represent wealth even during the Great Gatsby era and the Great Depression, are no longer present,” he said. “Cadillac is one of the few American luxury brands of its era, and it has become unique. I can see collectors who are also interested in vintage pre-war cars that are drawn to Cadillac because of its continuity.”

The process of designing an exclusive vehicle requires a creative process that is completely involved. Like many of the colours in Celestiq’s palette, sculptures were created to showcase the inspiration of its founding. The exterior of Mitchell’s vehicle is called the Inuktitut word for “ice” in the Inukutitut word for indigenous peoples of northern Canada.

“We created an iceberg that floats on acrylic boxes,” said Julie Brokeman, lead creative designer in Mitchell’s Celestique colors, materials and finishes. Regarding the colour itself, “It looks white, but when it hits the second sun, it’s bright blue metallic.”

A graduate of Detroit’s Creative Research College, Brokeman recently served as GM’s Global Appearance Director. She worked with Mitchell to design Celestique at Cadillac House, a former cafeteria on the campus of General Motors Tech Center in Warren, Michigan.

Mitchell is not the first Celestiq customer, but he was the first to design him directly with the newly renovated Atelier, which began to acknowledge clients for Celestiq builds last summer. Some clients have many color ideas and preferences, but Mitchell was open to the proposal, Brokeman said.

“Lucy, who worked as his concierge, put together some mood boards, one inspired by the hotel, the cars she already had, and it’s different from the other two,” she said. “Then if they want that, (clients) can get help from someone especially from Cadillac Design, which is when I was involved.”

Mitchell was obsessed with the way Shik’s paint changed colours under the sun, Brokeman said.

“We try our best in virtual meetings to see the samples, but we can’t beat them face to face,” she said. “He chose that exterior colour and that really led the design.”

Each car is unique

If your client is completely “palette”, the process of styling your custom-made Cadillac Celestiq can take just three months. But the studio can create almost anything, so the process can proceed indefinitely, for example, as you can customize fabrics and textiles to suit your customer’s favorite handbags and chairs.

GM’s Immersive Tech team can provide clients with logins to a program called Unreal Engine to tinker with the vehicle’s appearance, allowing them to customize their own vehicle. Cadillac House uses a larger, more sophisticated version of the software for screens that are large enough to display virtual vehicles at scale.

However, there are several areas where the design draws out the line, according to Broekman, for example, a change in design that would compromise the safety of the vehicle or change the overall design or silhouette.

Still, customers are always right on the matter of preference. However, design will do everything possible to help them.

“When it comes to car design, I’m a minimalist. I want the materials to be talked about,” Brokeman said. When it comes to clients, meeting in person really helps the process. “Do they really want to stand out? Or are they flying more under the radar?

For design teams, it is important to produce functional and road-friendly vehicles, but not all collectors consider the practical use of the vehicle. According to Gibson, today’s collectors treat vehicles more like art objects than transport, often displaying them in the gallery’s honorary gallery rather than hiding them in the garage.

“People really don’t want 10,000 paintings. If there are 20,000 Picassos that look identical, it would underestimate them,” he said. “The more special, the fewer versions there are, the more people see them as art.”

Will Chelsea Clinton and Jack Schlossberg run for Congress?

play

Chelsea Clinton’s team has denied reports that Kennedy’s heir Jack Schlossberg is planning to race to replace retired New York lawmaker Jerry Nadler as heir is considering a run.

A spokesman for former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 45-year-old daughter, told USA Today on September 3 that he was “not thinking about running.” Comments come two days after 78-year-old Nadler announced he will be reopening his seat on Monday, September 1st.

Clinton previously gave him the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of his parents. When he appeared in “The View” in October 2019, Clinton told the panel that he “isn’t considered running” to replace former lawmakers of Nita Lowey, the New York Congressional District in 2020.

In recent years, Clinton, who was once the same vein NBC correspondent as his original first child, Jenna Bush Hager, has instead focused on global health advocacy and authoring books, with or without mothers.

Meanwhile, former President John F. Kennedy’s only grandson, Schlossberg, is considering a run in the 12th Congressional District, including parts of New York City.

Schlossberg, a 32-year-old social media influencer who is Caroline Kennedy’s son, told the New York Times on Tuesday, September 2nd that his candidacy was “certainly a possibility.”

He will be the first Kennedy family to run for Congress since Joe Kennedy III left the U.S. House seat in Massachusetts and launched a major challenge to progressive senator Ed Markey before losing the race in 2020.

According to the New York Times, both former President Joe Biden appointee Lina Kahn and former President Joe Biden appointee Lina Kahn have been nominated as potential successors to Nadler.

Longtime MP Nadler praised his former aide and state legislator Mika Rusher, but stopped supporting him.

“I really like Mika and I think I love him a lot,” Nadler said in a statement to the Times. “But decisions regarding supporting successors are on the way.”

Nadler – a leading former chairman of the House Judiciary Committee – attracted the public attention when he helped lead the perpetrator procedure against President Donald Trump in his first term in the White House.

“For over 32 years, I had the honor of serving the people of New York in the US Congress,” Nadler said. “This decision was not easy, but in my mind I know that it’s the right thing and that it’s the right time to pass the torch to a new generation.”

“Looking at Biden really said something about the need for generational change for parties. I want to respect that,” Nadler told The New York Times.

Louisiana’s Angola Mega Prison retains immigrant detainees for ice

0

play

The Trump administration plans to detain immigrants in the largest security prison in the country. This is a Louisiana lockup that has a notorious history as a “Prison Plantation.”

Louisiana has played a key role in federal immigration enforcement for many years as the state with the second highest number of ice detention centers outside of Texas. The Louisiana prison – better known as Angola – is set to become the state’s 10th ice detention site.

On September 3, the top Trump administration will meet Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry outside a 6,300-bed prison located two hours northwest of New Orleans on Bend on the Mississippi River.

According to a study by Justin Hosbay at the University of California, prisons emerged from the integration of four plantations in the late 1800s.

An academic article in the Department of Justice’s own virtual library calls Angola a “prison farm.”

The agreement between US immigration, customs enforcement and Louisiana reflects a similar deal on immigration detention between Republican-led states and the Trump administration. They include the now shy “Crocodile Alcatraz” detention camp in the Florida Everglades and 1,000 beds in an Indiana correctional facility.

play

“Alligator Alcatraz” has “an obscure and despicable circumstances,” Democrats say.

Democratic leaders took a tour of Alligator Alcatraz, a Florida immigration detention facility. They called the condition “terrifying.”

ICE officials said they are attempting to secure 80,000 new immigration detention beds at existing prison facilities and military bases above the 41,500 immigration detention beds already within the system as part of a massive expansion of immigration detention.

This summer, Congress provided $45 billion to ice to pay it. According to the American Council on Immigration, there were three times more war breasts than the agency had previously had for detention.

Angola is well known not only for its history but also for its present day.

The prisoners sued the Louisiana prison system in 2023 on conditions known in Angola as “farm line.” There, inmates were forced to work the fields under the careful eyes of armed guards. Last year, a federal judge ordered prisons to introduce more protections to protect prisoners in extreme heat.

Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Associate Director Ice Madison Xiahan are scheduled to tour Angola prison on September 3rd.

DHS did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

ICE currently holds a record 61,226 immigration detention cases in more than 190 facilities nationwide, according to an analysis of detention data by Syracuse University immigration researcher Austin Cochel.

The largest use of security prisons to detain immigrants “promotes the administration’s big lie that people in immigrant detention are “criminals,” Louisiana ACLU’s Legal Affairs Director Nora Ahmed told USA Today. “Many people who come to this country are trying to follow the legal pathways we’ve put in place, but they’re still in custody.”

The most recent data shows that almost half of people in ice detention (45% (45%) have no criminal history or pending claims. As ICE holds immigrants on suspicion of civil violations of immigration law, institutional standards require that detention be “non-medical” or not punished.

Amazon’s previous Prime Invitee program allows customers to share only delivery benefits, and those benefits can be shared with anyone, regardless of where they live. Along with Amazon Family, Prime customers can share the benefits of shipping and digital, but only household members, an Amazon spokesperson confirmed to USA Today on Wednesday, September 3rd.

The changes are coming at the end of the month. Once the Invite Program is over, Prime members who want to share benefits and digital content with their families must become part of the Amazon family.

Amazon has announced on its customer service website that it has ended its Prime Invitee program.

Amazon has also sent notifications to customers announcing the changes. This prompted a round on social media. When asked why all shoppers didn’t receive notifications, an Amazon spokesperson said that between 2009 and 2015, when the program stopped accepting new members, customers who were registered with the Prime Invitee program were sent out.

The company said on its website, along with the Amazon family, Prime members can share benefits with one other adult.

“Prime members can instead share a wide range of Prime Merits with the Amazon family, including exclusive deals and shopping events such as fast, free streaming, Prime Day, movies, series, live sports, and more, Prime Video, Amazon music and additional digital entertainment, free Grubhub+ membership, and fuel savings at participating ceremonies at 7,500 BP, AMOCO and AMPM Locations.

The switch to home-only sharing comes after Amazon reported signing up for US$5.4 million over the 21 days leading up to Prime Day and the company’s four-day sales event in early July. The number of new customers was about 116,000 less than the previous year, 106,000 below the company’s target, Reuters reported.

Things you need to know about the changes.

When will the Prime Invitee program end?

According to Amazon, the program will end on October 1st. That’s when Prime invitees lose access to Prime Delivery.

What are the requirements for sharing the main benefits?

Amazon Prime members who want to share benefits with others must secure them.

Prime invitees who lose access can ask Prime members in their home to add to their Amazon family or sign up for their own Prime membership ($14.99 per month for standard plans).

What can I access on the Amazon Family?

Amazon said on its website that Amazon Family is giving customers access.

  • Free distribution of prime-qualified items
  • Access to exclusive Prime Events and Deals
  • Prime Video with Ads
  • Prime Reading
  • Benefits of third parties like Grubhub
  • Digital content such as audiobooks, ebooks, games and more

Trump says he might send the National Guard to New Orleans via Chicago

play

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has proposed that he cannot send National Guard troops to Chicago as he repeatedly threatened, and for the first time introducing New Orleans, a potential new target for his next criminal crackdown.

The day after he declared, “We’re on Chicago’s plans,” Trump said on September 3rd that his administration has yet to decide whether he will deploy his troops to the country’s third largest city. Instead, Trump pointed to New Orleans, a Republican-led state city, as opposed to democratically-led Illinois.

“We’re determined now,” Trump told reporters in his oval office. “We’re going to Chicago or we’re going to places like New Orleans, where we have the great governor Jeff Landry, who wants to straighten out a very wonderful section of this country.

“So I’m probably going to Louisiana,” Trump added.

Trump has repeatedly asked JB Pretzker, the Democratic government of Illinois, to seek help from the Trump administration to fight crime in Chicago.

“We were able to straighten Chicago, all they have to do is ask us,” Trump said.

HHS employees release letter demanding resignation of RFK Jr.

0

play

A group of employees of more than 1,000 current and former Department of Health employees issued a letter on September 3 requesting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to resign.

The release of the letter comes after Kennedy’s agency faced controversy over recent actions, such as cutting funds for mRNA vaccine development, and the White House’s recent actions, including the conflict that led to the fire of the Susan Monares Center, director of disease control and prevention.

A September 3 letter to Kennedy and members of Congress claims that the secretary “continues to put the country’s health at risk.”

“Our oath requires Americans to speak out when they violate the Constitution and are at risk,” the letter says. “We therefore warn that the actions of the President, Congress and Secretary Kennedy are undermining the health of the country and demand that Secretary Kennedy resign.”

With the exception of Kennedy’s resignation, the letter calls on Congress and President Donald Trump to appoint a new HHS secretary.

HHS Communications Director Andrew Nixon said in a statement to USA Today that Kennedy and his team “have achieved more than any health secretary in history in the fight to end the chronic disease epidemic and once again bring America to health.”

“From his first day in office, he pledged to confirm the assumptions at the door and asked all his HHS colleagues to do the same,” Nixon said.

Nixon also said, “Chief Kennedy was clear. The CDC has been broken for a long time. The world’s most trusted public health guardians will restore it to impose sustainable reforms and more HR changes.”

“HHS policy puts the health of all Americans at risk,” the employee’s letter says

Signatories of the September 3 letter said many of Kennedy’s actions put public health at risk. In addition to Monares’ firing, the letter also cited the resulting resignations of several top CDC officials.

“We believe health policies should be based on strong, evidence-based principles rather than partisan politics,” the letter states. “But under Secretary Kennedy’s leadership, HHS policies put the health of all Americans at risk, regardless of politics.”

Another group of former CDC leaders wrote an opinion piece that was published in the New York Times on September 1st.

The letter follows another from the HHS workers released in August

The push for Kennedy’s resignation comes after more than 800 current and former HHS employees similarly issued a letter on August 20th raising concerns about the national health policy.

The letter said anxiety has risen among HHS workers after being fatally shot and killed on August 8 at CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. DeKalb County police officer David Rose was killed in the shooting because he was responding to the scene, authorities said.

“The deliberate destruction of trust in the American public health workforce is putting lives at risk,” the letter on August 20th said. “We encourage you to act in the best interests of your friends, your family, yourself, and Americans.”

Trump appears to be sticking with RFK Junior.

The Trump administration has continued to support Kennedy’s work performance up until now.

“Secret Kennedy was the crown jewel of this administration, which is tirelessly working to improve public health for all Americans,” Stephen Miller, the deputy White House director of policy, told reporters on Aug. 29.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt defended Monales’ firing in a comment to a reporter on August 28th.

“It was President Trump who was overwhelmingly re-elected on November 5th,” Levitt said. “This woman has never received a vote in her life and the president has the authority to fire people who are not in line with his mission.”

Mount Laurel, 50: New Jersey blueprint to demolish residential quarantine

0

This year marks the 50th anniversary of one of the most consequential state court rulings under the U.S. Housing Act. In 1975, the New Jersey Supreme Court established groundbreaking principles. Municipalities cannot use zoning laws to rule out low-income families living within the borders.

Today, the policy framework that emerged from that case, South Burlington County NAACP vs. Mount Laurel Townshipa More powerful than ever In the editing of New Jersey Housing Policy. It’s getting more and more Model of reform Nationwide.

By banning exclusive zoning and asserting that all municipalities in New Jersey have a constitutional obligation to create a “fair share” of affordable housing; Mount Laurel They faced directly the use of land use policies as a tool for racial and economic segregation.

But the story of Mount Laurel It also provides calm lessons on the limitations of legal judgments. It required 50 years of merciless advocacy, continued litigation and hard political progress. The most powerful policy in the country Requesting affordable homes in historically exclusive communities.

Zoning as a tool for separation

After the US Supreme Court abolishes explicit racial zoning laws Buchanan vs Worley In 1917, local governments began using facial neutral land use policies, including large-scale zoning and minimum area requirements, to achieve similar exclusion objectives. These tools have allowed the creation of municipalities that could often afford to live in the community by banning the construction of multifamily homes and smaller, affordable housing types. Over time, exclusive zoning has become a central mechanism for perpetuating quarantine across the United States.

It was truly dynamic in the outskirts of Laurel, south Jersey suburbs of the early 1970s. When Mount Laurel experienced an influx of wealthy white people, the prices were paid for the town’s centuries-old black community. In response, members of the local community led by Ethel R. Lawrence, known as “Rosa Park of Affordable Housing,” led efforts to create 36 affordable homes.

Disappointing the community, the Zoning Committee blocked efforts to build affordable housing. Rather than back down, they joined forces with the South Burlington NAACP, Camden County NAACP and attorneys of the Camden Legal Services Office. These community leaders and lawyers have won an astonishing victory in filing a lawsuit against Mount Laurel, stating that every municipality in New Jersey must promote production of a “fair share” of affordable housing.

A few months after the decision was made, the supporters who filed the lawsuit established our organization; Fairshare housing centerbrings promises to Mount Laurel In reality.

From legal victory to political reality

The success of Mount Laurel’s framework is based on strong enforcement by the courts and the state government. This was not always the case. In decades following the decision, many towns resisted compliance and sought ways to use lawsuits to delay enforcement or avoid housing obligations.

Mount Laurel II The 1983 ruling further established details of what turned out to be: Laurel Doctrine Mountwhich led to the production of tens of thousands of affordable homes in the 1980s and 1990s.

However, from the late 1990s until 2015, state leaders hampered the implementation of Mount Laurel doctrine, leading to a huge gap in housing supply that the state still keeps up. New Jersey’s affordable housing reached its lowest stage under Governor Chris Christie (R), who served as governor since 2010 and 2018. I fought with my teeth and claws To undermine the doctrine of Mount Laurel.

Finally, in 2015, the New Jersey Supreme Court Mount Laurel IV case. After 15 years of non-enforcement by state agencies, the New Jersey Supreme Court held that the judicial system is responsible for local government compliance.

Since then, New Jersey has seen a boom in apartment complexes. In 2015 alone, we will create over 25,000 affordable homes. Many of the new homes are strategically located near public transport, redeveloping outdated office parks and shopping centres.

Historically, Mount Laurel’s doctrine was largely supported by judicial intervention. New Jersey Landmark 2024 Affordable Housing Act, Promoted by Gov. Phil Murphy (D) and legislative leaders; It showed a big change In the political landscape of affordable housing.

The new law adds teeth to the Laurel Mountain framework by setting up a clear enforcement mechanism for the town’s affordable housing obligations over the next decade, making it difficult for wealthy towns to block new developments. It streamlines the development process for all involved by codifying the methodology used to determine the new affordable housing needed by each municipality to allow.

The law gives towns a wide range of tools to create affordable housing in the way they like. You can choose from local government Various options – 100% affordable housing, mixed income housing, support housing for the elderly and disabled, or reuse of abandoned malls and offices.

There are also strict income restrictions that towns must follow to ensure that affordable homes are truly affordable. At least 50% of homes should be affordable for low-income residents (earning less than 50% of the local median) and at least 13% of homes should be reserved for very low-income residents (earning less than 30% of the local median income). The rest should be affordable for medium-income earners who earn between 50% and 80% of their regional median income.

Thanks to the new law, Most municipalities New Jersey is currently building affordable homes. This is much more than ever in the 50-year history of Mount Laurel’s framework.

Mount Laurel National Relevance

To make the US worse Housing affordability crisismany states are revisiting land use laws. California, Florida, Massachusetts, Montana and Texas recently enacted reforms that incorporate elements of the New Jersey model. For example, in Massachusetts, certain communities near transport for multifamily homes are approaching zones from zones, but developers can override local zoning rules to build affordable units in municipalities with less than 10% of homes.

What sets New Jersey apart is not only the breadth of affordable housing requirements that apply to all municipalities, but the fact that these obligations have evolved through 50 years of law enforcement, community organization and policy development. And thanks to New Jersey’s new Affordable Housing Act, the state now has a structure in which courts, advocates and state agencies play a clear role in ensuring compliance.

Today, more than 400,000 New Jerseys live in houses created through the doctrine of Mount Laurel. Fifty years after the original ruling, it exists as one of the most durable and influential examples of the state constitution used to combat structural inequality. It opened the doors to exclusive communities and positioned New Jersey as the national leader in housing policy.

The story of Mount Laurel It highlights the important role that state courts can play in promoting civil rights. While federal courts have been more constrained in recent decades, state constitutions and state judiciary provide an important pathway to advance racial and economic justice.

For other states seeking to tackle the housing crisis, the Laurel Mountain doctrine provides a compelling model not only for what the court can demand, but also for what long-term political engagement can be achieved.

The lesson is clear: legal victory is important, but without sustained enforcement they disappear into oblivion. Mount Laurel doctrine endures because it was followed, refined, and now it has laws on the structure of New Jersey.

Jag Davies is the Director of Communications at the Fairshare Housing Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The organization is now a major initiative to implement the state’s new Affordable Housing Act.

In explaining the monitoring of such visual social media apps, Meta insisted on limited resources and higher priorities.

In 2022, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri said that despite admitting it was a popular request, no one wanted a native Instagram app for Apple’s tablets.

“We get a lot of this,” Moseli said. “It’s not a group of people that’s big enough to become a priority yet. I’m hoping to get to that at some point, but now I’m very headed down to other things.”

A year later, he said: “I think it’s a good thing to do at some point. But there are only people who work on Instagram, so you always have to choose the most important thing to improve your Instagram.”

In a statement, Instagram is the way that most people use Instagram.

“We know people want the iPad app, and we’re excited to be able to build it in a way that really matches how the community uses Instagram,” the statement said.
