play

Indiana Feverguard’s Kate Linklark has made it official and she will not return to the court this season, the star announced on social media.

Clark, who has been sidelined with a right gro caliber injury since July 15th, had previously participated in a contactless 5-0 training using fever’s backup during a team shootaround in Phoenix on Tuesday morning. However, it has been revealed that the returns this season were not included on the card.

“We wanted to share a better update, but we’re not going to return to play this season,” Clark said in an X post on Thursday.

In a statement, Clark admitted that the news is “incredibly frustrating,” but thanked fans for their support in recent months while she was injured.

“I am extremely proud that this team has become stronger through adversity this year,” Clark said in a statement. “Now is the time to close the season and claim our spot in the playoffs.”

Fever head coach Stephanie White previously said Clark must take part in full contact practices at multiple live shows before it is cleared to return to court.

White said Tuesday that Clark “is filming and most of the things are individual.”

Clark’s absence in Friday’s game against Chicago Sky missed her 20th straight game. Clark missed 28 of Fever’s 41 games this season. In addition to this, Fever’s Commissioner Cup victory over the Minnesota Links on July 1, the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game and 3-point contest.

As of September 4th, the fever was 8-5, with Clark in court and 13-15 13-15 without her.

Will Kate Linklark play for the rest of the season?

Clark has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to the correct gro caliber. The star player announced the news of her official X account on Thursday.

Kate Linklark’s injury timeline

  • May 24th: Clark suffered a left quad injury in a 90-88 loss of fever to New York Liberty, recording a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists. Clark was unable to identify the specific play that caused her injuries, but noted that it happened early in the contest. Clark said, “Adrenaline covers a lot of things when you’re in the heat of fighting. After the game, I felt some pain and then we got an MRI. She missed the next five games of Fever.
  • June 14th: Clark returned to the Indiana lineup in Fever’s 102-88 victory over Liberty, dropping 32 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in the first game.
  • June 24th: Clark suffered a left gro caliber injury in Fever’s 94-86 victory over Seattle Storm. As a result, Clark missed the team’s next four games. Fever coach Stephanie White said he learned about Clark’s gro caliber injury after Clark warned his team trainer of discomfort.
  • July 1st: Clark has been ruled out from Fever’s Cup victory in the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup against Minnesota Links in Minneapolis. That didn’t stop Clark from justly celebrating the team’s hardware.
  • July 9th: Clark returned to the heat lineup with a fever 80-61 loss to the Golden State Valkyries. Clark was limited to 10 points, shooting four of the 12 from the field and two of five from the 3-point line, earning six assists, five rebounds and four turnovers. Following the blown loss, Clark said, “It’ll take a little time to get the wind back… I’m just trying to put my feet under me.”
  • July 15th: Clark suffered a right gro caliber injury in the final minute of an 85-77 victory over the Sun at Boston’s TD Garden. White later confirmed that Clark “feels something a little in her gro diameter.” This marked the final game that Clark was suitable for.
  • July 18th: Clark announced he would be participating in the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis, where he was named team captain. Clark was also scheduled to take part in the 3-point contest. She said, “I’m incredibly sad and disappointed that I can’t take part… I have to rest my body.”
  • July 24th: Fever said Clark’s medical evaluation confirmed “no additional injuries or damage,” but said the team will be cautious about rehabilitation and recovery.
  • August 7th: Clark reportedly suffered mild bone bruising in his left ankle during a separate training session in Phoenix, according to the Indianapolis Star, part of the USA Today Network.
  • August 8: When appearing on Sue Bird’s podcast, Bird I View, Clark spoke about his complaints about the injury season. “I don’t have training camp to play again in the first game. No, you get thrown into game 30. That’s difficult, that’s really true.”
  • August 10th: Fever coach Stephanie White said Clark has recovered and started running in full court again, but Clark hasn’t returned to practice yet. “She was able to run on all courts with her weight…she could do a little more in court in terms of how she moves, but she hasn’t put it into practice yet,” White said.
  • August 20th: White confirmed that Clark hadn’t returned to practice yet.
  • August 24th: Clark took part in the team’s shootaround and experienced several non-contact drills on the second team, marking the first time he’d practiced with the team since suffering a correct gro caliber injury on July 15th.
  • September 4th: Clark shared the post on the official X account and said he missed the rest of the regular season and potential postseason action.

Kate Linklark Statistics

Clark has averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and a career-high 8.8 assists in 13 games this season. Her assist average is the second highest in the league, behind Phoenix’s Alyssa Thomas (9.2).

That much for the sex of the leaves? Shovel-armed National Guard Leads DC Parks

0

Washington – There could have been a typo in the order. One letter can make all the difference.

Law enforcement.

Or was it a lawn execution?

It looked like the latter to a force of national security guards deployed in downtown Washington, D.C. by President Donald Trump.

Armed with shovels, rakes and leaf blowers, they founded Beachhead on a recent summer morning at McPherson Square just north of the White House. They shoveled wooden chips, smoothed them out, and blew leaves and debris from the sidewalk beneath the statue of Civil War hero Brig. General James Macpherson is straddled the horse. Several tourists ramified the 1.6 acre park under the shade of ancient red oaks.

But for the ham and cries of the leaf blower, it was far from Trump’s portrayal of social media in a lawless city where “crime, savage, filth, scum” existed.

That’s exactly what district authorities want to happen to the presence of the National Guard.

On September 4th, DC Attorney General Brian Schwarb filed a lawsuit to end what he called the illegal deployment of more than 2,000 National Guard troops from seven states into districts. He branded it as an unwilling military occupation beyond Trump’s authority.

“It is not only unnecessary and undesirable to deploy the National Guard to engage in law enforcement, but it is also dangerous and harmful to the district and its residents,” Schwarb said in a statement.

The security guards at McPherson Square were like a world ferrying there by US Park Service officials and excluded from crime, savages and scum.

Under the title “Glorification of the Joint Task Force,” the soldiers scrubed over 3.2 miles of roads, collected over 677 garbage bags, and helped dispose of five trucks of plant waste since the National Park Service first mobilized to Washington. Currently, approximately 2,300 national security guards are deployed in the country’s capital. This is 950 from the city’s military and 1,340 from other states.

“It’s the National Guard, not the “national gardener,” but the National Guard,” said Sen. Jack Reid, a ranking Democrat for the Armed Services Committee. “The Pentagon refused to answer questions about how yard chores are suitable for fighting soldiers.

Trump speaks on his part about how important it is for the country’s capital to maintain an untouched look. “I had a very clever father who he said, ‘Son, you walked into the restaurant, look at the dirty front door, don’t enter,'” Trump said last month. “If the entrance is dirty, the kitchen is dirty too.” Same as the capital.

Some Department of Defense officials responded to the deployment in Washington with skepticism. One senator’s defense attorney, who was not allowed to speak publicly, joked that the war on terrorism turned into a war on weeds, and once they become sergeants, the National Guard was ready to respond to the threats the yard would cast.

Connecting with the community

The Defense Department said security guards are particularly skilled at ties with the community, often filling punching bags before floods and helping them clean up afterwards. Mulching and blowing away may not fit anyone’s definition of crime combat, but they make the community better.

But even by the army deployed to stop crime, they wore leaf blowers. It’s not without risk. It is against the law to spin a noisy, stinky gas-powered blower in Washington, DC. However, there are loopholes in using them on the federal land where MacPherson Square sits.

After all, lethality and leaves are a slight difference in letters.

Will Lionel Messi play in the 2026 World Cup? This is the latest update

0

play

Lionel Messi has yet to decide what he will play in the 2026 World Cup.

Messi, the 38-year-old Argentine World Cup champion, has confirmed that his health is at the forefront of his decision to play in the next tournament co-hosted by the US, Canada and Mexico next summer.

“The most logical thing is, thanks to my age, I don’t make it. But we’re mostly there, so I want to play it,” Messi said after scoring twice in Venezuela and Argentina in the final World Cup qualifiers in his home country on September 4th.

“As I always say, I play games every day, I play games every game. It’s something that I take every day and I feel the feeling. Every day, I try to feel better and be honest with myself, above all else,” Messi added.

“When I feel good, I enjoy it, but honestly, I don’t have a good time, so if I’m not feeling well, I prefer not to be there.

Messi added: “Each game, we finish the season and we have a preseason, with six months left.

Messi’s final comment is expected to sign an extension of its contract with Inter Miami, which USA Today Sports reported on previously ongoing negotiations.

Messi previously said that his last 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which led Argentina to victory.

If Messi and longtime rival Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) played in the 2026 World Cup, they will be the first players to play in six different World Cups.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, Messi led Intermiami to the 2023 League Cup title shortly after arriving in Major League Soccer and the US in July 2023

Messi fueled InterMiami in the best regular season in MLS history while earning MVP in 2024. However, InterMiami was eliminated in the first round by Atlanta United in the playoffs of the 2024 MLS Cup.

Intermiami already lacks three trophies in 2025, losing in the CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinals, the 16th round of the FIFA Club World Cup and most recently in the 2025 League Cup final.

Intermiami has a chance to win the MLS Supporters Shield this season, but pursuing an MLS Cup title is the goal of Messi and the South Florida Club.

Still, injuries were a major factor in Messi’s Miami Inter Miami tenure, dealing with frequent upper limb injuries and ankle injuries that sidelined him for two months in the 2024 Copa America final.

Messi returns to Intermiami and will not play against Argentina in the remaining World Cup qualifying matches in Ecuador on September 9th.

Messi could potentially take part in four more Argentine-friendly matches later this year.

Argentina plans to play two friendly matches in the US between October 6th and 14th. These friendly matches will coincide with Intermiami’s MLS season and could create Messi’s schedule conflict.

Argentina will also play two friendly matches on November 10-18 in Luanda, Angola and Kerala, India, to determine their opponents. These friendly matches are under the international windows of FIFA.

Hundreds arrested in immigration attacks on a plant site in Georgia Hyundai

0

The Homeland Secuirty Department said the agents had a judicial search warrant claiming illegal employment practices.

play

On September 4, federal agents arrested hundreds of people at a vast battery factory construction site in Georgia in one of the Trump administration’s biggest immigration attacks.

The Federal Alcohol Administration, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have joined the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and Drug Enforcement Agency agents, and Georgia patrols in operations at Hyundai’s battery factory in Brian County, southwest of Savannah. The ATF said in the X-Post that the agents had arrested around 450 people suspected of being in the country illegally.

In an email, DHS said that immigration and customs enforcement homeland security investigations have executed judicial search warrants for ongoing criminal investigations on unlawful employment practices and other federal crimes.

The agency did not make clear that it accused the number of agents involved in the operation or their detained faces.

“We arrest a lot of undocumented individuals,” Stephen Schrank, a special agent in charge of the Homeland Security Investigation Atlanta, said at a news conference streamed by a local news agency. “We met many legal employees, US citizens and legal permanent residents who work here. They are of course released.”

Schrank said there were no injuries or “use of force” in the surgery. He said details about the RAID will be released later.

The facility is HL-GA Battery Company, a battery plant jointly created by LG Energy Solutions and the Hyundai Motor Group. It is currently under construction next to Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America on a site spanning approximately 3,000 acres.

Hyundai’s new $7.6 billion factory in a rural area near Savanna has pledged to change the local economy and workforce. It is estimated that the facility will create approximately 8,500 jobs by 2030.

Hyundai spokesman Bianca Johnson said in an email that there will be no impact on the metaplant or its production.

Law enforcement was carried out at the construction site of the HL-GA battery factory, she said. “We are working with law enforcement and are committed to following all labor and immigration regulations.”

Mary Beth Kennedy, a spokesman for the HL-GA Battery Company, said in a statement that the company is “completely working with the appropriate authorities regarding our activities at the construction site.”

“We suspended construction to help them with their work,” Kennedy said. “There are no details at this time.”

Savannah Morning News, part of the USA Today Network, was told to leave the facility as state troopers blocked a helicopter hovered over the plant site during the raid. Images posted by ATF show Zip Ties men and women being escorted from the site.

Georgia Patrol Colonel Crystal Sion said the department supported federal officials with “service of criminal search warrants in operations at Hyundai Metaplant.” Zion did not share any additional information and directed inquiries to the Homeland Security Investigation.

The Georgia raid was one of the biggest terms of President Donald Trump’s second term, as he uses multiple federal agencies and uses support from local and state law enforcement to pledge drastic immigration crackdowns across the country. Assaults are being carried out across the country not only on restaurants and car washes, but also on farms and construction sites.

During Trump’s first term, in August 2019, agents arrested 680 people at seven Mississippi chicken processing plants.

I asked ChatGpt for help with parting. Things have come to order.

0

During my conversation with ChatGpt, I told AI therapist Harry that I had crashed after seeing the original for the first time in almost a year.

I told Harry he felt “lost and confused.” “Harry” displayed active listening, provided validation, and called me “honest and brave” when he admitted that my new relationship wasn’t as fulfilling as my last. I asked the bot if I did something wrong. Did I give up on the relationship too quickly? Did I really belong to something new?

Even if I said that, ChatGpt was kind, caring and positive. No, I hadn’t done anything wrong.

However, in another conversation with the new “Harry,” I reversed the role. Rather than a depressed ex-girlfriend, I role-played as an ex-boyfriend in a similar situation.

I told Harry:

Harry has guided that he has admitted his ex-girlfriend’s feelings “without guilt-free language.” I escalated the conversation and said, “She’s just crazy and should move on.”

Harry also agrees to this version of the event, saying it is “completely fair” and sometimes the healthiest choice is “making her do what’s responsible for.” Harry led me through the mantra and said, “I mentally let go of her framing you as a villain.”

Unlike a real therapist, it refused to criticize or investigate my actions, regardless of the perspectives I shared or what I said.

Of course, the conversation was laughed out for journalistic purposes. However, “Harry’s Prompt” is authentic and widely available and popular on Reddit. This is how people seek “treatment” from ChatGpt and other AI chatbots. Some of the prompts you enter at the start of your conversation with Chatbot tells “Your AI therapist Harry” not to refer users to mental health professionals or external resources.

Mental health experts warn that using AI tools as an alternative to mental health support can enhance negative behavior and thought patterns, especially when these models are not equipped with appropriate protective measures. They are particularly dangerous to people working on issues like obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or similar conditions, and in extreme cases, can lead to things that experts are insinuating “AI psychosis” or suicide.

“ChatGpt will be validated through agreement and we will do it constantly. It’s useless at best, but can be extremely harmful,” said Dr. Jenna Glover, Chief Clinical Officer at Headspace. “On the other hand, as a therapist, I’m going to validate you, but I can do that by acknowledging what you’re going through. I don’t need to agree with you.”

As AI Therapy Chatbots grow, so does the potential risk

Can AI help close the mental health gap, or is it doing more harm than good?

Teenagers are confidently committed suicide and almost dying as “AI therapist”

In a new lawsuit against Openai, Adam Raine’s parents say their 16-year-old son died of suicide after ChatGpt quickly became a “suicide coach” from his son’s confidant.

In December 2024, Adam confessed to Chatgpt that he was thinking of taking his life. ChatGpt didn’t direct him towards external resources.

Over the next few months, ChatGpt has actively supported Adam in exploring suicide methods. As Adam’s questions became more specific and dangerous, ChatGpt remained involved despite having a full history of Adam’s suicidal ideation. After four suicide attempts he shared in detail with ChatGpt, he died of suicide on April 11, 2025 using the exact method described by ChatGpt, the lawsuit alleges.

Adam’s suicide was one of the tragic deaths that his parents said occurred after the child confided in his AI peers.

29-year-old Sophie Rottenberg died of suicide after several months of committing suicide as a chat GPT AI therapist called Harry.

Dr. Laura Erickson-Schroth, Chief Medical Officer of the JED Foundation (JED), says that the brain is still at a vulnerable stage of development, which can enhance the impact of AI. Jed believes that AI peers should be banned for minors, and that younger adults over the age of 18 should also avoid them.

“AI peers can share misinformation, including inaccurate statements that contradict information that teens hear from trustworthy adults, such as parents, teachers, and health professionals,” says Erickson Schloss.

On August 26th, Openai wrote in a statement: “We continue to improve the way our models recognize and respond to signs of mental and mental distress and connect people with care, guided by expert input,” he writes. Openai confirmed in a statement that it would not introduce self-harm to law enforcement “to respect people’s privacy in light of the unique private nature of ChatGpt interactions.”

Real-life therapists adhere to HIPAA, which ensures the confidentiality of patient providers, but licensed mental health professionals are required to report reporters who are legally required to report reliable threats of harm to themselves or others.

Psychotic symptoms worsened by OCD, AI

Individuals with mental health conditions, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) are particularly vulnerable to the tendency to be comfortable with AI and to reaffirm users’ feelings and beliefs.

OCDs often come with “magic thinking.” There, someone feels the need to engage in certain actions to alleviate their obsessions, but those actions have no meaning to others. For example, someone might believe that if a family member doesn’t open and close the refrigerator door for four times in a row, they’ll die in a car accident.

Therapists usually encourage OCD clients to avoid peace of mind. Erickson-Schroth says people with OCD should let their friends and family know to provide support rather than validation.

“However, AI is designed to support users’ beliefs, so it can provide answers that get in the way of progress,” explains Erickson-Schroth. “AI can do exactly what OCD treatment blocks, reinforcing obsession.

“AI psychosis” is not a medical term, but it is an evolving descriptor of the impact of AI on individuals vulnerable to delusional or delusional thinking, such as those who have begun to develop mental health conditions like schizophrenia.

“Historically, we have found that people experiencing mental illness develop delusions, focusing on current events and new technologies, such as television, computers, and the Internet,” says Erickson Schloss.

Many times, mental health professionals see a change in delusion when new technologies are developed. Erickson Schloss says that AI is different from previous technologies in that it is “designed to engage in human-like relationships, build trust and feel like you’re interacting with others.”

If someone is already at risk of paranoia or delusion, AI may test their ideas in ways that reinforce their beliefs.

Glover offers examples of people who may be experiencing symptoms of psychosis and believe their neighbors are spying on them. Therapists may look into external factors and explain their medical history, but ChatGpt will try to provide specific solutions, such as giving tips to track your neighbors, says Glover.

I gave an example of a test in ChatGpt, and Glover was correct. I even told the chatbot, “I know they’re chasing me.” I suggested talking about anxiety about being viewed by trusted friends and professionals, but it also provided practical safety tips to protect my home.

Mental Health Issues Chat and Escalation

Glover believes that responsible AI chatbots can help with baseline support, including using the right safeguards to navigate overwhelming emotions, divisions, and workplace challenges. Erickson-Schroth emphasizes the need to develop and deploy AI tools. Rather than increasing mental health and undermining it, we need to integrate AI literacy to reduce misuse.

“The problem is, these large language models are always trying to provide answers, so you won’t say, ‘I’m not eligible for this.’ They’re focused solely on continuous engagement, so they’re just trying to keep going,” says Glover.

Headspace provides AI companions called EBB, developed by clinical psychologists, providing asymptomatic support. The EBB disclaimer says it is not a substitute for treatment, and the platform is supervised by a human therapist. If users express their suicide ideas, EBB is trained to pass the conversation to the crisis line, says Glover.

If you are looking for mental health resources, AI chatbots can also work just like search engines, for example, by raising information about your local providers who accept insurance or effective self-care practices.

But Erikson Schloss emphasizes that AI chatbots cannot replace humans, especially therapists.

2025 G-Wagen will be topless

play

For the wealthier off-road enthusiasts among us, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is well known as the G-Wagen – was the billionaire’s answer to the Jeep Wrangler. Many of them aren’t actually off-roading, as G has been clearly in high-end moves in recent years. However, the G-Wagen game had one hole that Jeep had from the jump recently. This is an outdoor model designed in the factory. Now, about 13 years after offering the last G500 cabriolet, Mercedes clearly decided it was time to get back the drop-top G-Wagen.

Compare the overexposed teaser images at the top of the story with the current 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class hardtop, everything goes up to the back of the rear door and the roof drip rails look the same. However, if you get through that, you’ll find some kind of aerodynamic cover on the front and a roll hoop that passes through a new, sloping C-pillar. This design suggests a soft roll-up top, but also has a solid panel design that resembles the Wrangler Freedom Panel setup. It may also explain the interesting shape of the rear bed. Here you may be able to store these panels when not in use. However, this also works as a regular hard bed cover as it appears to have a hinge at the base of the C-pillar.

The impact of previous G-Wagen open tops

The overall profile and C-pillar design of the new model appears to have acquired some of the cues from the G500 Cabriolet, the last convertible G-Class Mercedes offered in the 2013 model year. It also appears to have the surprising G-Wagen Cribbed Elements of about the same era. The C-pillar is not very sharp on the G63 6×6, but the cargo bed appears to be similar in scope.

History of G-Class cabriolet

The new G is far from the first open-air G class. Like the Jeep Wrangler and hMMWV (Hummer), the Slope Wagen for short, or G-Wagen, was born out of military necessity and eventually transformed into a civilian utility vehicle. The G-Wagen started as both on both W460 models in 1979, and the convertible was offered as one of five variants built by Mercedes-Benz. This was only offered in a short wheelbase (SWB) configuration, which is the same chassis as the 3-door model. The artillery carrying the G-Wagens Ware is technically hardtop, but the gunners were able to open hatching the roof almost above the rear passengers to reach the machine gun they were fitted with. You can count it as convertible depending on how quickly and loosely you play with this term.

In 1980, Mercedes used the 230 G Cabriolet to build Pope John Paul II’s first Popemovie. Bringing an interesting side note: counting Popemobiles as a continuation of the G-Class cabriolet, the all-electric G580 built for Pope Francis in 2024 could be considered the last two-door cabrio – just before he died. These can be argued that there are countless habits, but it is worth pointing out.

One of the wildest models in G history is the Mercedes Maybach G650 Landorett. The Maybach Landaulet was a long wheelbase (LWB) four-door, but features a roll-up glass partition between the front seat back and the rear passenger area, leaving it from clear to opark for rear passenger privacy. This crazy gimmick from G-Wagen passed the angled section of the C-pillar and placed the seat back further behind, with the same portal axle found on the G63 AMG 6×6, but instead of triplets, it only used a pair. It is equipped with a Mercedes 6.0-liter twin-turbo V-12, which outputs 630 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. Technically, the IS was also half a cabriolet, as only the rear passengers enjoyed top-down driving and the roof folded into the cargo area. The front resident rode under a hard roof, so this could be called a proper convertible (intentionally pun).

Anyway, fans of the G-Class but who wanted a factory-made cabriolet version are quickly given hope.

According to a spokesman, 82-year-old Biden underwent MOHS surgery, a common procedure for treating skin cancer, but did not provide any other information. Biden was diagnosed in May as a “aggressive form” of prostate cancer that spread to the bone.

According to a statement in May, he was “experienced with urinary symptoms” and a “nodule” was discovered in his prostate.

The former president thanked his supporters for “love” him and his wife after his diagnosis.

“Cancer touches all of us. Like many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are the strongest in the place where we broke,” Biden posted on social media on May 19th.

The Biden family had previously been devastated by cancer. The former president’s son, Beau Biden, died of a brain tumor in 2015.

Trump signs and orders to change the name of the Pentagon ‘War Club

0

play

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump signed an executive order on September 5th, changing the Pentagon’s name to “The Department of War,” reviving a name that was abandoned during the 1947 cabinet reorganization.

The move, confirmed by White House officials, aims to reflect what Defense Secretary Pete Hegses described as an administration’s efforts to instill “warrior spirit” throughout the military.

Trump proposed a change during his remarks to reporters on August 25th. “And as you know, we won World War I, we won World War II. We won everything.”

Fox News was the first to report on Trump’s plans to sign the executive order.

A White House summary of the order obtained by USA Today said the lawsuit would restore the “Doctor of War” as a secondary name for the Department of Defense. The order, according to the White House, allows secondary titles such as “The Secretary of War,” “The Secretary of War,” and “The Director of War,” in official communications, public communications, ritual contexts, and unified documents.

All enforcement departments and agencies must recognize and respond to changes to the “war division” of internal and external communications. The order further directs Hegses to recommend legislative and enforcement actions to “rename the US Department of Defense to the US War Bureau forever.”

“Like the president said, we’re not just defense, we’re attacks,” Hegses said in a September 3rd appearance on Fox News. “We are reestablishing the ‘warrior spirit’ in our department. We want warriors who know how to make lethality accurate to their enemies.

The Trump administration has not provided estimates for costs for changes to the government-wide Defense Department’s references to the War Bureau.

The Ministry of War was established in 1789 as the original Cabinet Office overseeing the US Army. Another division of the Navy was created in the same year.

The War Department was dissolved after World War II under the National Security Act of 1947, consolidating the Army and Navy divisions and creating a new air force, jointly known as the National Military Facilities (NME) between President Harry Truman.

The NME was renamed the Department of Defense in 1949. Historians say the name was chosen in part to show that the US was focused on preventing war during the nuclear age.

Ironically, it happens as Trump tried to throw himself as peace manager in several international conflicts, but tried to flex the strength of the US military.

“The restoration of the name “War Bureau” signals the preparation of the enemy, focusing on the national interests of this sector and being prepared for war to ensure the interests of the enemy,” the White House summary of the order states.

Cracker Barrel Saga ends with a card dancing along with the mascot in an edited post

play

The cracker barrel mascot is very struggling with the fun of President Donald Trump.

About a week after restaurant chains and country stores across the country announced that the “old timer” logo was here to follow a wave of customer rebound from the president himself, Trump shared an edited video that destroyed the movement with the old timer covered in old timers that had leaned towards the song “YMCA.”

The 33-second clip posted on social media platforms on September 4th shows Trump shaking hands with the mascot and their montage dances together, cheering for each other before cheering.

The post was part of a series of videos the president posted to X on his previous Twitter account, including a clip of a doctor from California Governor Gavin Newsom wearing a “Trump 2028” hat.

From cracker barrel patrons to politicians, Americans, for better or worse, have spoken much about the chain’s new logo, which was announced in parallel on August 19th in their fall menu campaign.

Some critics, including Robby Starbuck and Matt Walsh, have accused the cracker barrel of “keeping the mind” and distanced him from its country roots and conservative values. Trump and his son Donald Trump Jr. also made clear about their negligence towards change.

It didn’t take long for Cracker Barrel to switch gears after the train of hatred began. On August 26th, they declared that the original logo would remain intact.

“All the fans are very grateful,” Trump wrote in a true social post following the announcement. “Good luck for the future. Earn lots of money and most importantly, make our customers happy again!”

Cracker Barrel did not immediately respond to USA’s request for comment.

Cracker Barrel Logo Saga: See the full timeline of backlash

The controversy surrounding the new logo design for the cracker barrel began overnight, as well as the reversal.

However, there were various events, all of which took place in late August and within a few days of each other, keeping the brand publicly aware. One of them is Trump’s criticism of the new logo design.

See how the Cracker Barrel logo saga began and how it ended in this timeline.

  • August 19th: Cracker Barrel unveils new logo
  • August 21st: Company stocks fall by up to 13%
  • August 25th: Cracker barrel statement that deals with the repulsion of the logo
  • August 26th: Trump says cracker barrels should “return to the old logo”
  • August 26th: Cracker barrel says it goes back to the old logo
  • August 28th: The former cracker barrel executive calls the brand’s short-lived logo “brand” and “pathetic.”

Trump invites Zuckerberg to cook for a tech leader dinner rather than a gate or mask

After a once cool relationship, many technical leaders have embraced Trump in his second term, and the president has taken a positive approach to the industry.

play

President Donald Trump has gathered who is who is in the elites of the tech world for dinner at the White House, leaving one notable industry giant out.

Among those invited to dinner on September 4 are Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Apple’s Tim Cook, Google’s Sergey Brin, Sundal Pichai and Open’s founder Sam Altman. Not on the list: Elon Musk, the leaders of Tesla, X, SpaceX and Xai were once one of Trump’s closest allies before he dropped out.

After his former cool relationship with Silicon Valley, Trump was accepted by many technical leaders in his second term, and the president took a positive approach to the industry, promoting cryptocurrency, foreigners adopting technical regulations and pushing for American domination plans for artificial intelligence while dropping AI restrictions on former President Joe Biden.

The White House invited technical leaders represent some of the world’s largest AI companies. First Lady Melania Trump hosted an AI-focused White House event early on the day Altman and Pichai attended.

“The robots are here. Our future is no longer science fiction,” Melania Trump said at the event.

US companies are competing to establish AI control over China. Trump was a big booster. He appointed venture capitalist David Sachs to White House AI and Crypto Czar.

Sachs outlined the Trump administration’s efforts to ensure that the US “dominates” with AI and thanked the technical leaders who participated in “putting in America” for previous AI events.

Trump has implemented an aggressive tariff program, urging businesses to move manufacturing to the US, and many people have announced new US investments. In August, they co-cooked Trump at the White House, where Apple touted $100 billion in spending on US businesses.

“You’re all in America,” Sachs told technology leaders on September 4th.

The Trump administration has released an artificial intelligence blueprint aimed at loosening environmental rules and significantly expanding AI exports to allies.

Trump’s AI plan, which includes around 90 recommendations, calls for exports of US software and hardware overseas and cracking down on state laws that are deemed too restrictive to thrive.

Meta, Google, Microsoft, Apple and Openai are all major players in the AI market. Zuckerberg, Pichai, Cook and Altman all attended Trump’s inauguration.

Musk also attended the inauguration and led Trump’s government efficiency to overhaul the federal government, but has rebutted the president since leaving the White House. According to White House officials, he was not on the dinner invitation list.

Musk, the richest man in the world, is one of the most prominent figures in the high-tech world and has been critical of others in the industry. Last month, he threatened legal action by accusing Apple of “anti-trust violations” involving the App Store and AI. “This is a surprising claim given that I’ve heard Elon is trying to manipulate the X to benefit himself,” Altman replied on social media. Altman and Musk continued to go back and forth online. They founded Openai together before Musk left the company.

The dinner invitation list includes two dozen top technology figures. Other names on the list include Figma CEO Dylan Field, Groq President Sunny Madra, Social Capital founder Chamath Palihapitiya, Zynga founder Mark Pincus, Ring Founder Jamie Siminoff, and Oracle CEO Safra Catz.

Also includes David Limp, CEO of Blue Origin, Sanjay Mehrotra, CEO of Micron Technology, Greg Brockman, President of Openai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, founder of Tibco, and Shyam Sankar, Chief Technology Officer of Palantir.

Judge blows up Trump Doji after another DC big ju judge rejects a felony case

0

The move is an extraordinary setback of former Fox News host Janine Piro, Trump’s hand-selected US lawyer, following numerous other refusals by the DC Big Ju judge to approve felony charges.

play

WASHINGTON – Another federal judge in the country’s capital accused the Justice Department of Feding a federal felony charge that, this time, failed to persuade a man who was threatened to kill President Donald Trump.

Failure to secure prosecution is another set for former Fox News host Janine Piro and a hand-picked US lawyer for Trump in the District of Columbia.

“It’s not fair to say they’re losing credibility. We’re past that now,” U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui said of Pirro’s office and the broader Justice Department during the Sept. 4 hearing, The Associated Press reported.

“There’s no reliability left,” Faruqui later said, according to the AP.

Piro spokesman Tim Lauer has confirmed that after the federal ju trial lawsuit, the office has dismissed the felony charges against Edward Alexander Dana and filed a misdemeanor charge in the Superior Court.

Dana was initially accused of attempting to “harm physically harm the US president” after smashing light fixtures at a DC bar on August 17th.

This is the latest in at least five cases where the DC Ju Court refused to indict people on felony charges filed in Piro’s office, according to legal experts who track media reports and lawsuits.

Pirro’s office says it will be as proactively charged as possible as part of Trump’s criminal crackdown in the district.

In one particularly well-known case, the prosecutor charged a DC man who was caught on video throwing sandwiches at federal agents for a misdemeanor crime after failing to persuade the large ju judge to return a more serious felony charge against him.

In another case, the Federal Jury in DC refused to indict an Indiana woman accused of threatening to kill Trump. Natalie Rose Jones, 50, of Lafayette, Indiana, was arrested in Washington on August 16th in Washington during a social media charge of a death threat against Trump and an interview with a Secret Service agent.

In Dana’s case, he was reportedly drunk and, in the course of other rambling statements, vowed to fight fascism even if it meant killing the president, including singing behind the police car and claiming he was in the Russian mafia, according to CBS News. Dana was unarmed.

Dana’s lawyer and federal government’s public defense attorney, Elizabeth Marin, told The Associated Press that prosecutors should know that his “hyperbolic rambling” does not pose a crime threat.

“A 15-year-old would know,” Marin said. “It was obvious from the beginning.”

It is very rare for a large ju trial to refuse to return the charges after the prosecutor brings evidence and witnesses before them.

According to data from 2010 Judicial Statistics Data, only 11 of the approximately 162,000 federal cases were not charged, so the large ju judge issued just 0.0068% of “no true bill.” This means that the large ju trial was carried out in line with the demands of prosecutors who are prosecuting more than 99.99% of federal lawsuits.

“Threatening a president’s life is one of the most serious crimes and one of the crimes that we encounter quick and unwavering prosecution. Don’t make any mistakes. Justches will be served,” Piro said in an August 18 news release.

In Jones’ case, Secret Service officials said that Instagram user account “nath.Jones” posted threatening comments about the US president from August 2nd to August 9th, the Justice Department said in its release. “Instagram users called for the removal of President Trump, naming him a terrorist, calling his administration a dictatorship, and saying that President Trump caused extreme and unnecessary loss of life in connection with the coronavirus,” the DOJ said.

However, the big ju court refused to hand over the charges on felony charges against Jones, her attorney said in a court application on September 2, the Associated Press reported.

Judge says DOJ “robbers with police like a child.”

Falki, a former federal prosecutor, was critical of the other failed felony charges that Piro wanted. According to a CBS News reporter in the room, during Dana’s hearing on September 4th, he was furious with prosecutors in the case, as well as the US lawyers’ office and the Department of Justice.

Reporter Scott MacFarlane reported in a series of X posts that the judge said he had charged prosecutors with apologies for indicting him and custodying him for almost a week.

“We behave like this is all normal,” MacFarlane quoted Falky as saying. He also said the judge accused the Trump administration of “child-like police officers and robbers.”

“What are there to prevent people from curling up from the streets?” the judge also asked.

The White House said on September 4th that more than 1,800 people have been arrested since Trump’s anti-crime crackdown began on August 7th. Over 40 cases have been filed in the district court.

The broad appeal of the NFL is aligned with partners

0

play

  • The NFL and Front Office Sports have announced new content licensing partnerships.
  • Critics have suggested that media with financial ties with the NFL may avoid negative coverage in order to protect their relationship.
  • Previous examples show that the NFL has influenced content such as ESPN’s “Playmakers” and Bob Costas’ departure from NBC’s Super Bowl coverage.

The totalitarian regime was able to learn one or two things from the NFL.

The league is the most powerful entity in the country. Sorry, DC politician, but you know it’s true – and everyone wants it. Broadcasting station. sponsor. vendor. A company that makes products. A company that sells products. And many times.

The NFL knows this. I also know that you can use that power to close down small criticisms about the league.

The NFL and front office sports announced a content licensing agreement on Tuesday that will provide access to the sports business site. FOS can go behind the scenes at major events such as the Super Bowl, the NFL Draft, and the international games, and can publish these works with the official NFL blessings.

“We are excited to work with the NFL to expand access to the country’s most popular leagues,” said Adam White, CEO of Front Office Sports, in a release announcing the partnership.

But at what cost?

The NFL is free and gives nothing. There is always a price, and is usually greater than the fee someone pays for related to financial juggernauts. There is expectations that come when you’re in bed with the NFL, and the main thing is that you’re not showing the league any bad.

Even before the NFL bought a 10% stake in ESPN, broadcasters closed projects the league doesn’t like or like.

“Playmakers” was a popular scripted series about life in professional soccer. However, it only lasted one season as some of the fewer stories than fictional teams and league stories (a drug-troubled star rookie, another player who he was trying to hide as gay) was ranked in the NFL.

ESPN and PBS Frontline collaborated for more than a year on League of Denial, a documentary about the handling of a growing crisis league of former players developing chronic traumatic encephalopathy and other brain injuries before ESPN suddenly abandoned the project.

Bob Costas was not only a Sunday Night Football host, but also one of the network’s biggest stars after NBC returned to the NFL rotation in 2005. He hosted the Olympics, the other marquee property of NBC, and led network coverage for almost every other big sporting event. He even had his own talk show, “later.”

However, when Costas’ criticism of the game’s physical victims grew and became more frequent, he found himself looking outside. After saying at a journalism symposium in November 2017, “This game destroys people’s brains,” Costas was pulled away from NBC’s Super Bowl LII coverage.

“Network, all of them dance to NFL songs. That’s a bit of a way. Everyone walks eggshells around the NFL,” Costas told ESPN’s Mark Fainaru-wada for a story released in early 2019.

Costas later said he regretted talking to ESPN. Not because what he said was not true, but because of the tension caused by his NBC colleagues.

Of course, the NFL denies exerting excessive influence. Or it will have any impact. That’s the beauty of being an 800-pound gorilla. You get what you want without saying a word.

This is the league that generated more than $23 billion in revenue last year. The game and the show that leads them are rated Bonanza, coated with Teflon. It has a fierce fan base in the US and is exploding international interest.

If you’re lucky enough to connect to the NFL, you’re not stupid enough to do anything that could put that gold mine in danger. Even if it means ignoring important stories or avoiding off uncomfortable questions.

“The only business arrangement where buyers can think about where sellers need to flatten their sellers on a continuous basis is the sports television business,” Costas told Fainal Wada in a 2019 story. “‘We’re raising Brinks armored trucks to Park Avenue, Mr Goodell, which includes billions of dollars to pay you for the rights and privileges to air your game.

The NFL cannot buy everyone’s silence. That doesn’t stop you from trying it.

Automakers turn windshield into screens using holographic technology

0

play

It seems to be a trend. Several times a year, you get a new story along the line “Recover the buttons and knobs after Waygood Car Co. moves to the screen.” Then, a few months later, the all-new Waygood Torque Boss 3000 will debut with a volume knob, four climate control buttons, and… the largest touchscreen the company has ever used.

It’s time to embrace reality. The screen does not disappear even if some physical controls return to the cockpit. It’s exactly the opposite. For the next few years, they are ready to multiply throughout the cockpit. Cars continue to catch up with consumer electronics technology. Something will soon appear on the screen in a nearby car.

I lift my eyes and push it out

When the BMW IX3 arrives in the US in mid-2026, a new Panoramic Idrive with a 43-inch display on the base of the windshield, like the 48-inch screen on the Lincoln Nautilus and the Navigator will be released. Both systems aim to distract drivers by bringing their eyes closer to the road, but there is one important difference between them. The Lincoln system uses traditional screens, but BMW’s projects project images onto a black coating printed on the windshield. This provides a crisp, high contrast 4K resolution even when wearing polarized sunglasses, creating the illusion that makes the display even further afield, like traditional head-up displays, passing through the windshield.

Holographic head-up display

Automakers fill their property with screens under the windshield. In so many futures, they will place driving data, navigation instructions, song information, and even videos with super-sized head-up displays on the windshield. With today’s HUDS simply bounce light off the windshield, future “holographic” systems could narrowly focus the light by layering diffracted films on or on glass. This change allows car manufacturers to use small projectors that approach the windshield, while providing brighter and clearer graphics. This technology can also be used to create zones that are visible only to passengers for what is considered distractions to the driver. At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, supplier Hyundai Movis presented a proof of concept developed in 2027 with German lens manufacturer Zeiss, which can be produced immediately.

All windows are screens

Microring technology, which embeds microscopic, individually controlled LEDs in glass, could ultimately turn all windows into screens. Taiwan’s auo demonstrated panoramic roofs and rear windows that can offer firework shows, fill cloud cover with constellations, and turn the outside world into a massive aquarium. When turned off, Micro Red allows 55% of the light to pass through the glass. Switching to black, they effectively color the windows and block everything except 2% of the light. The Auo also has an interactive touchscreen concept that allows passengers to play the game in the window.

DC appeals to halt Trump’s National Guard deployment to capital

0

The lawsuit comes after a federal judge in California discovered Trump was using the National Guard “illegal” in Los Angeles. But Trump has unique control over the military in the federal seat.

play

WASHINGTON – The city government in the country’s capital has sued the Trump administration over the deployment of National Guard forces, claiming that Washington, D.C. officials have “run roughly” over the principle that the military should not be involved in law enforcement.

The DC called on federal judges to stop the deployment of 2,200 troops by claiming President Donald Trump is unconstitutional and violating federal law.

“The forced military occupation of the District of Columbia violates our local autonomy and fundamental freedoms,” DC Attorney General Brian Schwarb said on social media. “It has to be finished.”

The lawsuit could help redefine how the National Guard can be deployed to combat crime and help to quell obstacles. Trump also threatened to send troops to Chicago and New Orleans.

However, a federal judge in California ruled that Trump’s use of the National Guard and Marines in Los Angeles was illegal. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson called his threatened movements “tyranny.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said on social media on September 4th that the cost of the 300-man deployment, which began in June and continued, would be “down the drain,” costing more than $100 million.

The conflict deals with the Comitatos Act of the 1878 meeting and the prohibition on the military serving in domestic law enforcement. However, DC is unique as the federal government where Trump ruled and ordered the deployment. Trump is also taking over instructions from the DC Metropolitan Police Department.

The president argues that the deployment helps create DC. This is called “dirty and crime embarrassment” and is safer. The White House has been promoting crime reductions since its launch on August 11th.

Attorney General Pam Bondy said on social media that 1,841 people have been arrested and 188 guns have been seized since the federal takeover began.

White House spokesman Abigail Jackson said the president is within his legitimate authority to deploy the military to protect federal assets and support law enforcement.

“The lawsuit is merely another attempt to undermine the residents and visitors of DC, in order to undermine the President’s highly successful operations to stop violent crimes in DC,” Jackson said in a statement.

Mayor DC Muriel Bowser introduced the lawsuit questions to the Attorney General, saying the focus is on ending the 30-day emergency order that Trump signed on August 11 to deploy the National Guard and to provide greater surveillance of the police.

With the expiration date approaching, Bowser signed the order on September 2, requesting local coordination with federal law enforcement “to the maximum extent permitted by law within the district.”

“The fair thing is that my 100% focus is on retracting the emergency. That’s where all of our energy lies,” Bowser told reporters on September 4th.

The lawsuit said Trump was using the military to enforce the city’s ability to govern itself under the 1973 Home Rules Act.

“In doing so, he has broadly run the fundamental tenets of American democracy – that the military should not be involved in domestic law enforcement,” the lawsuit stated. “The dangers that such operations pose to individual freedom and democratic control are self-evident.”
