Jingle trend spreads rapidly after influencer’s successful Dr Pepper ad

play

Social media users are finding musical inspiration from their favorite brand after a fan-created jingle about Dr Pepper soft drink went viral on social media and was featured in a commercial for the company. Now people are trying to create the next big jingle for brands like Mountain Dew and Chipotle.

Original video sung by TikToker @romeosshow 「ドクターペッパー、バァアアアアビー、それは良い、素晴らしい!ドゥードゥードゥー」” was a short clip posted on December 23rd. Dr. Pepper, which currently has more than 124 million views, took the jingle a step further and made it available for millions to hear in a 15-second commercial that aired during the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship.

Since then, other social media users and creators across the internet have jumped into the jingle game to get their favorite companies’ attention, like @romeosshow.

Corporate jingles take over TikTok

Ever since the Dr Pepper commercial was released, people have been posting new jingles on social media in hopes of getting a response and success like @romeosshow.

In one TikTok video by user @versesbybreezyy, Chipotle is the main subject of the jingle. In the video, which has more than 9 million views, @versesbybreezyy says, “Hey, hey, hey. Get me some Chipotle. Get a bowl or a burrito. Make it right in front of me. Make the meat your competition.” Treat me like a hand. Know I make it fresh. From the grill to the top, Chipotle is the way to go.”

Chipotle’s TikTok account commented on the video and responded, “dj play that back.”

Other users really followed @romeosshow’s path and stuck to familiar soft drinks for jingle inspiration. A video by user @kiaeliz__ shows a father trying his hand at creating a jingle, with the words: “My dad is jealous of the girl who made the Dr. Pepper jingle and the overnight fortune she made, so I’m here to make my own jingle for Coca-Cola.”

“If it’s not Coca-Cola, it’s not soda,” he soulfully sings in the video, which has racked up 3.5 million likes.

Multiple videos directly credit @romeosshow and Dr Pepper commercials as inspiration. User @millybling04’s video, which has garnered nearly 380,000 likes, tags Romeo in her post and features a jingle for Sprite.

@millybling04 wrote in the video, “SPRITE is great.” “Sprite is good. Sprite on ice. Mixed with lemon and lime, it’s delicious.”

One creator @Languini stacked thousands of racks to create two jingles. One for Mountain Dew and one for Hidden Valley Ranch that says, “The Sauce Boss will find you. Hidden Valley Ranch will guide you. Hot Wings is not without you!”

Georgia county seeks return of ballots seized by Trump administration

Fulton County, Georgia, plans to take the Trump administration to court over the seizure of ballots in an investigation related to the 2020 election, according to local officials.

Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. announced in a news release that the county will ask the Trump administration to force a judge on February 2 to return harvested ballots after the FBI executed search warrants at election centers in the Atlanta area last week.

“I have asked the county attorney to do everything possible to fight this criminal search warrant,” Arrington said.

The FBI raid on Jan. 28 at the Fulton County Election Hub Operations Center marked a significant escalation in the Trump administration’s efforts to overhaul the 2020 presidential election, which President Donald Trump lost to then-former Vice President Joe Biden.

Fulton County Commissioner Mo Ivory said federal agents recovered 700 boxes of ballots from a secure location during the search.

Trump falsely claimed on “The Dan Bongino Show” on February 2 that he won the 2020 election and mentioned the seizure of ballots.

“You’ll see that in the state of Georgia, we were able to obtain ballots with a court order,” Trump said. “Something interesting will come out.”

Fulton County, which includes Atlanta, is Georgia’s most populous county. Biden’s victory in the state in 2020, which has 16 presidential electors, contributed to Biden’s victory in the state. In the 2020 election, Biden won 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232.

Ahead of Biden’s 2021 inauguration, Trump unsuccessfully tried to recover from his 2020 losses in several states, including Georgia.

On January 2, 2021, during a phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, President Trump said that “all we need is 11,780 votes” in Georgia. Raffensperger defended the accuracy of the state’s election results.

Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert and Lee Brice will headline Turning Point USA’s alternate halftime show, which will air at the same time as Bad Bunny takes the stage for Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show.

The lineup for Turning Point USA’s “All American Halftime Show” is finally here.

The show, hosted by a conservative group to rival Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, will feature performances by Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and more. Gabby Barrett wins New Female Artist of the Year at the 2021 Academy of Country Music Awards, will also appear.

Kid Rock is a close ally of President Donald Trump and has become more outspoken about his conservative beliefs in recent years. Gilbert and Bryce are both mid-tier stars in the country music world. Gilbert is known for hits like “Dirt Road Anthem” and “Bottoms Up,” while Bryce is known for songs like “One of Them Girls” and “Rumor.” Barrett is currently the only female performer announced and broke out with her hit single “I Hope.”

“We approach this show like David and Goliath. It’s almost impossible to compete with pro football machines and global pop superstars…or is it?” Kid Rock said in a release announcing the lineup.

Kid Rock went on to attack Bad Bunny, saying, “He’s saying he’s going to have a dance party and wear a dress and sing in Spanish? That’s cool. We’re going to play great songs for people who love America.”

What is the Alternative Halftime Show?

Turning Point, founded by the late right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, has announced that it will stage a replacement Super Bowl halftime performance in October after the NFL’s controversial selection of Bad Bunny as its headline artist.

Who is Bad Bunny?

Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican Latin superstar who sings primarily in Spanish, has criticized President Trump’s deportation efforts in the past. When it was announced that he would be chosen to headline the Super Bowl, several conservative pundits and Trump himself criticized the choice, arguing that he was not a popular enough artist and was a divisive choice. Bad Bunny became the world’s most streamed artist on Spotify in 2025.

How to watch Turning Point USA’s Alternative Super Bowl Halftime Show

In protest, Turning Point will stream its “All American Halftime Show,” a celebration of “faith, family and freedom,” on its social channels and several conservative networks, including Real America’s Voice and OAN.

“The All-American Halftime Show is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show for no other purpose than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom,” Turning Point spokesperson Andrew Corbett said in a release. “We aimed to provide fun, great and exciting entertainment options for the whole family as millions of people gather for the big game. These performers have done just that and we can’t wait to see the great show they’re going to put on. We know that millions of people across the country will be watching too.”

Howard and his wife Lutnick planned a visit to Epstein’s island in 2012

play

President Donald Trump’s Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnick, said in an interview four months ago that the couple decided in 2005 that they would “never be in the same room” as the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who once lived in New York City.

But a trove of new files released by the Justice Department on January 30 shows that in 2012, the couple and their families planned to visit Mr. Epstein’s private island, Little St. James, in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

One of the emails released as part of Epstein’s files shows that Lutnick’s scheduled meeting on Epstein’s island on December 23, 2012, actually took place.

On December 24, 2012, Epstein sent an email to his assistant with the subject line, “Please forward to Howard Lutnik.”

“Nice to meet you,” it said.

The email, dated Dec. 21, 2012, from Lutnick’s wife, Alison, who currently serves on the board of the Trump Kennedy Center, asks him to arrange a visit to the island with another family member on Sunday, Dec. 23.

“This is Alison Lutnick,” an email to Epstein’s assistant Leslie Groff said, introducing Lutnick’s wife. “We are coming from Caneel Bay in the morning. We are a crowd… 2 families each with 4 children between the ages of 7 and 16! 6 boys and 2 girls. I hope it’s okay.”

She told me that her family was traveling on a yacht called “Excellence” and asked me to give her a good time to meet for lunch.

“Would 1:00 or 1:30 be a good time for lunch?” she asks.

Lutnick did not immediately respond to an email from USA TODAY seeking comment on the email.

Mr. Lutnick, the former chairman of financial giant Cantor Fitzgerald, was once Mr. Epstein’s neighbor. Luxury townhouses on the Upper East Side shared walls.

However, in a podcast interview with the New York Post’s Miranda Devine in October, the billionaire businessman called the sex offender “disgusting” and claimed he had tried to distance himself from the sex offender since first visiting Epstein’s townhouse in 2005, when he decided to distance himself from his wife.

When the couple moved into their newly renovated townhouse, Epstein invited them for coffee, he said.

After showing them around the mansion’s “large living room,” he led them to a room with double doors.

“I thought it was the dining room,” Lutnick said. “And when he opened the door, there was a massage table in the middle of the room with candles all around it.”

Ms. Lutnick said she then asked Mr. Epstein how often she would receive massages, which would require a table in the middle of the house.

“And he said, ‘Every day,'” Lutnick recalled. “Then he gets weirdly close to me, and he says, ‘And the right kind of massage.'”

Shortly after making the comment, Lutnick said he and his wife suddenly left Epstein’s residence.

Lutnick said it took him “six or eight steps” to reach his home, but the couple decided “we would never share a room with him socially, professionally, or even for charity.”

Epstein, who died by suicide in a Manhattan jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, is accused of luring and grooming numerous victims, including underage girls, for sexual abuse. He pleaded not guilty.

“If that guy had been there, I wouldn’t have gone because he’s disgusting,” Lutnick said.

Mr. Devine asked how other prominent men would have interacted with Mr. Epstein when Mr. Lutnick was able to immediately tell that Mr. Epstein was a “pervert.”

“Did they see it and ignore it?” she asked.

“No, they participated,” Lutnick replied.

“That was his MO,” he said. “Look, I said, ‘Get a massage, get a massage.'” And I think what happened in that massage room was on video. This man was the greatest blackmailer in history. Intimidate people. So he had money. ”

Trump Trevor Noah’s joke was about Epstein’s island. Did the president visit?

0

play

  • Donald Trump has threatened to sue Grammy Awards host Trevor Noah for making a joke about visiting Jeffrey Epstein’s island.
  • Noah’s joke suggested that Trump needs a new island to visit with Bill Clinton now that Epstein is gone.
  • Trump denied ever visiting Epstein’s island, but records show he flew on Epstein’s plane multiple times.

President Donald Trump has threatened to sue Grammy Awards host and comedian Trevor Noah over a joke he made at the Feb. 1 ceremony.

Noah joked about Trump spending time with former President Bill Clinton on late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s island. The comments came days after the Justice Department released another 3 million pages of records related to the sex trafficking investigation into the late financier. The push for transparency regarding documents has been a controversy that has dogged the Trump administration for months.

“Host Trevor Noah, whoever he is, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the low-rating Academy Awards ceremony. Noah falsely said about me that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein’s island. Wrong!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social in the early morning hours of February 2nd.

“Noah, you’re a complete loser, you better get your facts straight and get it straight ASAP. You’re going to have to send a lawyer to sue this pathetic, pathetic, talentless, stupid MC and sue him for a lot of money,” the post continued.

Noah’s management did not respond to requests for comment.

What did Trevor Noah say about Trump?

The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony will be hosted by Trump, who spent seven years hosting the show and was a frequent critic of Trump during his first term. Noah has hosted the past six Grammy Awards shows, but said the 2026 show will be his last.

“I believe in term limits. I wanted to set an example for the people watching the show. I want you to go home when your time is up,” he said, openly attacking President Trump, who has repeatedly threatened a third term despite the Constitution’s two-term limit.

Noah also criticized the prominent rapper, who recently expressed strong support for Trump by attending a White House event regarding the Trump account and appearing at the Trump Kennedy Center for the premiere of First Lady Melania Trump’s documentary.

“Nicki Minaj isn’t here,” Noah said, to cheers from the crowd. “She’s still in the White House discussing very important issues with Donald Trump.”

Noah went on to give the impression that President Trump told Minaj that his butt was bigger than hers.

However, it was Noah’s comments after winning the song of the year award that seemed to anger President Trump.

“Every artist wants a Grammy as much as President Trump wants Greenland. That makes sense. So Epstein’s island is gone, so we need a new one to play with Bill Clinton.”

Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower” won the song of the year award, and in her acceptance speech she defended immigrants by saying, “No one is an illegal alien on stolen land.”

Has Trump been to Epstein’s island?

Trump has denied ever visiting Epstein’s private island, but records show he flew on Epstein’s plane eight times in the 1990s. The flights recorded were primarily between Palm Beach, Florida, and Teterboro, New Jersey, but there was also a trip to Washington, DC.

A trove of documents, images and videos related to Epstein’s criminal investigation have been released after Congress passed the Epstein File Transparency Act, forcing the Justice Department to release the files. Trump’s name appears in many of the files released by the Justice Department, but he has denied wrongdoing and has not been charged with any crime related to Epstein.

President Trump answered questions on July 28 amid growing calls for the files to be released.

“I never had the opportunity to go to his island, and I turned him down, but a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island,” Trump said. “It was one of those great moments where I said no. I didn’t want to go to his island.”

Did Bill Clinton go to Epstein’s private island?

Clinton also denies visiting Epstein’s island, but his name and photo are repeatedly mentioned in the released files. But Trump has long criticized Clinton and accused her of being on the island. White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles also told Vanity Fair in December that there was no evidence such a visit took place.

Virginia Giuffre, the late Epstein defendant, said she saw Clinton there but never saw him do anything illegal. In a January 2015 email to author Michael Wolff, in which Mr. Epstein denied Mr. Clinton visited the island, he said another person (whose name has been redacted) had falsely claimed to have seen Mr. Clinton on the island.

“The[redacted]narrator has completely made up most of it,” he wrote, arguing that it overrules other claims.

“These emails prove that Bill Clinton did nothing and knew nothing,” Clinton press secretary Angel Ureña previously told USA TODAY in a statement. “The rest is noise intended to distract from things like election losses and government shutdowns that backfired. Who knows what else is out there.”

What happened on Epstein’s island?

Epstein owned two islands in the US Virgin Islands. He bought Little St. James in 1998 and Great St. James in 2016, according to court records.

In January 2020, prosecutors in the U.S. Virgin Islands filed a lawsuit against Epstein’s estate, alleging that a criminal enterprise involving the sexual abuse of young girls was carried out on his property.

“Epstein owned and arranged private planes, helicopters, boats, and automobiles to transport his victims to, from, and within the Virgin Islands, and provided funds to pay for these young women and underage girls,” the complaint states.

The complaint states one of the 15-year-old girls tried to swim away. The foundation settled a lawsuit with the U.S. Virgin Islands for $105 million in December 2022.

An investment firm led by investor Steven Deckoff acquired the islands in May 2023.

Punxsutawney Phil thinks there will be six more weeks of winter. look at his stats

0

According to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club’s Inner Circle, the group that organizes the famous winter spectacle and cares for the featured animals, winter will last for six more weeks. The group announced that Punxsutawney Phil had seen his own shadow after being removed from his den, with his appearance relayed around the world as a crowd watched. This famous rodent is said to have communicated its prophecies by “groundhoges.”

Punxsutawney Phil has been making predictions since the late 1800s, but his predictions are a little off. How well could he predict the winter weather?According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, it won’t be that hot.

Phil’s record is as follows:

NOAA scores Punxsutawney Phil predictions

According to Groundhog Club archives, Punxsutawney Phil has now seen his shadow 109 times, or 84%, of the 130 times he has predicted the weather. From 1903 to 1933, he observed his shadow every year, with 32 being his longest.

In his more than 135 years of experience, his overall accuracy rating is only 35%, according to NOAA.

Animals that can predict the weather better than Punxsutawney Phil

When it comes to predicting the weather, Punxsutawney Phil seems to have some rivals. These vaguely predictive animals in the United States have much higher prediction rates, according to data from NOAA’s National Center for Environmental Information.

NOAA predicts US outlook will warm

December, January, and February are the three coldest months of the year in the United States, so the appearance of groundhogs usually signals the end of winter.

According to NOAA’s February, March, and April 2026 Temperature Outlook, temperatures are expected to be above average across much of the United States, especially in the South, East, and Southwest.

Active storm patterns and below-average temperatures are also expected in the northern tier, which includes the Northern Plains, Pacific Northwest, and northern Rocky Mountains.

Where is Groundhog Day celebrated?

Every February 2nd, people gather at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to participate in a celebration centered around Punxsutawney Phil’s prophecy.

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the holiday stems from centuries of pagan and Christian tradition. It is also known as St. Brigid’s Day.

According to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, German settlers brought the tradition to America. But before they set off on their journey to America, they checked to see if the hedgehog, and not the groundhog, was seeing their shadow.

When can states prosecute federal officials?

State and local law enforcement in Minnesota investigating the murder of Alex Preti by federal agents announced they have gone to court to prevent federal agents from destroying or tampering with evidence. Video shows Preti being unarmed and restrained on the ground as he was shot multiple times over the weekend, part of an escalating pattern of violence by federal agents across the country.

It is difficult for states to prosecute federal law enforcement officers, especially if federal authorities obstruct an investigation. At the same time, states have more power than people realize.

The law makes clear that federal employees are not completely exempt from state laws, despite suggestions to the contrary from Vice President J.D. Vance and other Trump administration officials. Rather, state prosecutions are governed by a legal framework called the Supremacy Clause Waiver, which states: About Neaglean 1890 Supreme Court decision.

The incident itself is an outrageous story. David Neagle was appointed as a deputy U.S. marshal to protect U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Field after former California Supreme Court Chief Justice David Terry pointed a knife at Field in court and repeatedly threatened to kill him. (While serving as a circuit judge, Field had ruled against Terry and his wife in a case against him.) When Terry later attacked Field on a train in California, Neagle shot and killed him. The local sheriff arrested Neagle for killing the unarmed assailant.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Mr. Neagle was performing his duties as a U.S. marshal and “did no more than what was necessary and proper,” and that Mr. Neagle was immune from state prosecution. The court explained that ruling otherwise would allow states to interfere with the operation of federal law.

It is not difficult to see how state criminal prosecutions can undermine legitimate federal law enforcement. In 1964, for example, local Mississippi authorities attempted to prosecute federal marshals who used tear gas to quell riots that erupted over James Meredith’s acceptance as the first black student to attend the University of Mississippi. quotation About Neaglea federal district court blocked state prosecutors.

But on the other hand About Neagle While establishing strong protections for federal employees, it also leaves states open to prosecution if employees act beyond what is “necessary and appropriate” to do their jobs. For example, in 2001, the Ninth Circuit allowed an Idaho county prosecutor to proceed with a manslaughter case against an FBI sniper who killed an unarmed woman during an infamous raid on a cabin near Ruby Ridge, Idaho. The court noted the disputed facts as to whether the agent acted reasonably and ruled that the prosecution should be allowed. The case was later dropped after the prosecutor retired. The Ninth Circuit reversed the judgment.

And back in 1906, in a case similar to the Pretty murder, the Supreme Court allowed the state of Pennsylvania to prosecute two soldiers accused of killing a civilian accused of stealing from a federal armory. Witnesses said the man had already been captured by the time the soldiers opened fire. If true, the court wrote, “it cannot reasonably be argued that the fatal shot was fired in fulfillment of a duty imposed by federal law.” Similarly, during Prohibition, federal courts gave the go-ahead for state prosecutors to claim that federal agents used unreasonable force in the line of duty.

What would actually happen if Minnesota moved forward with prosecuting federal officers? If a police officer were to claim immunity from the Supremacy Clause, the state would need to show that the officer’s conduct was off-duty, or that the conduct was unreasonable or illegal (or that there is a factual issue on these issues early in the case).

Under current law, a defendant who claims immunity from the supremacy clause would also have the right to dismiss the charges in federal court. That means while the case will continue to be prosecuted by state authorities, a federal judge will likely oversee the case and consider any immunity claims.

They’ll have their hands full. Since the Supreme Court last considered supremacy clause immunity cases in 1920, lower courts have taken different approaches to important questions, such as what factors are involved in assessing whether a police officer’s actions were necessary and appropriate. This means, among other things, that such prosecutions are likely to proceed slowly and require extensive conferences and appeals.

However, if a defendant is convicted in such a case, it would be a state crime and therefore not subject to the president’s pardon power.

While federal agents may think they are operating with impunity, the availability of state prosecutions is an important reminder. This means that each state has the means to hold federal employees accountable.

Groundhog Day 2026 results aside. Check weather forecasters’ predictions

0

Is there a possibility of early spring? Or is there more winter in the forecast? Here’s what meteorologists are saying in their Groundhog Day forecast:

play

Groundhog Day 2026 has arrived, and the eyes of the world are focused on Punxsutawney Phil’s prophecy (he sees his own shadow on Monday, February 2nd, predicting there will be six more weeks of winter).

But what do real weather forecasters say?

Professional weather forecasters say the eastern half of the country is likely to experience a very cold February, while the west will see generally mild to warm weather for the time being. So if you’re looking for early spring, head west.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Americans should remember that Groundhog Day is just mid-winter fun, and that according to climate records, winter is probably not over.

Climatically, the coldest three months of the year are December, January, and February (the “climatic winter”), so winter is usually still in place by the time groundhogs emerge on February 2nd.

Polar vortex hits eastern and central US

People who have been looking forward to spring will not be happy to hear this. “The polar vortex could bring another round of bitter cold to the central and eastern United States around mid-February,” according to an online forecast from AccuWeather long-range expert Paul Pastelok. This will also include the possibility of snow, he said.

DTN meteorologist John Baranick agreed, saying, “The weather pattern is shaping up to bring arctic air back first to the eastern United States next weekend, approximately February 6th to 9th, and then eventually to the central United States the following week.”

“We are also looking at the possibility of major storms and winter is not over yet,” he said in an online forecast.

Where can spring come early?

“It depends!” NOAA Climate Prediction Center meteorologist Johnna Infanti said in an email to USA TODAY. Overall, the forecast looks like it will continue to be cold in the east and warm in the west.

“For example, the early to mid-February outlook calls for below-normal temperatures across many parts of the East. Additionally, the 8- to 14-day hazardous outlook calls for several days in February to be very cold for some parts of the Northeast.”

Additionally, a new map (below) released on January 30 shows that below-normal temperatures are expected to persist across the eastern United States during the last two weeks of February.

However, the West is likely to experience above-average temperatures through much of February, with the warmth concentrated in the Southwest by the end of the month.

What about rain or snow? And is La Niña still having an impact?

There is a chance of heavy snowfall in northern parts of the United States in February. “Above-normal precipitation is expected in the northern Rockies, northern Plains, upper Mississippi Valley, upper Midwest, Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, and interior Northeast, in contrast to below-normal precipitation in the southern tier,” Infanti said.

He said the La Niña weather pattern continues to influence the weather in the United States. “This is a fairly typical La Niña pattern in both temperature and precipitation, and we expect some of the seasonal effects of La Niña to continue into next month and next season.”

Why Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson attended the Grammy Awards

0

play

A year after achieving a lifelong dream of appearing on Broadway, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson has achieved another cultural milestone.

Ms. Jackson attended the Grammy Awards on Feb. 1 as a Best Audiobook nominee for an audiobook, narration or storytelling recording for her 2025 memoir “Lovely One.”

Grammys host Trevor Noah yelled as the camera cut to Jackson smiling in a sparkling gold dress.

“You know what it means that she’s here,” Noah said. “For the first time ever, if you miss out on the Grammys, you can appeal directly to the Supreme Court.”

Jackson faced stiff competition for the award. Noah himself was nominated for a recording of his book “Into the Uncut Grass.”

Neither of them won.

The Grammys visited the Dalai Lama for “Meditation: Thoughts on His Holiness the Dalai Lama.”

The 90-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader did not attend, but later said on Instagram that he hoped the award would help spread a message of “peace, compassion, respect for the environment, and understanding of the oneness of humanity.”

Jackson is not the first politician to be nominated for a Grammy Award. Others include Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Bernie Sanders.

Jackson’s appearance on stage in December 2024 was even more unusual.

The former theater brat made a one-night cameo appearance in “& Juliet,” a musical comedy that explores what would have happened if Juliet had followed in Romeo’s footsteps.

In her memoir, Ms. Jackson described how, in her application to Harvard, she said the school would help her “fulfill my dream of becoming the first black female Supreme Court justice on Broadway.”

Prince Andrew Epstein Files – Former royal spotted on all fours on woman

play

A newly released photo shows former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in a precarious position.

New files released by the US Department of Justice in connection with the investigation into convicted sex offender and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein show former Prince Andrew on all fours over an unidentified woman lying on the ground.

In the latest photo, published on January 30 and shared online, Charles III’s brother bends over to touch the stomach of a clothed woman sitting on the floor. In the second photo, Andrew is on his hands and knees over the woman, whose face has been edited out.

The Justice Department did not provide additional information about the photos, including when or where they were taken. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche acknowledged the release would include redactions while announcing the release of the files at a press conference at the department’s office in Washington, D.C., on January 30.

Emails among three million pages of newly released documents show that Andrew was in regular contact with disgraced financier Epstein for more than two years after he was convicted of sex crimes.

Mr. Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died in a Manhattan jail in 2019 while awaiting a federal trial for sex trafficking, rubbed shoulders with some of the world’s richest and most powerful people, including former President Bill Clinton and President Donald Trump. Both men deny wrongdoing and have not been charged.

British Prime Minister asks Andrew to testify about Epstein

After the photos were released, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles in October, to comply with requests from US lawmakers to testify about his relationship with Epstein.

“Those who have information must be prepared to share that information in whatever form they are asked to do,” Starmer told reporters in response to questions about Andrew on January 31, adding: “If you’re not ready, you can’t be victim-centred.”

According to multiple media outlets, Mr Starmer said whether the former royal should apologize was “a matter for Mr Andrew”.

Andrew to be stripped of his royal title in October

Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles and evicted from his Royal Lodge home in October after his relationship with Epstein was reported, has appeared on multiple pages and images in files released by the U.S. government on Epstein since last fall. He was ousted from his position as senior royal three years ago.

Epstein’s most prominent accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, has claimed that she was sexually abused multiple times by the former royal when she was 17 years old.

In 2022, months before the publication of her memoir in October, Andrew made an undisclosed payment to settle a lawsuit filed in the United States by Giuffre, who died by suicide in April. Andrew, 65, has always denied Giuffre’s explanation.

In November 2025, several U.S. lawmakers stepped up their calls for Andrew to appear before a Congressional committee investigates Epstein. The disgraced investor died by suicide in 2019 while in custody awaiting trial.

President Trump threatens to sue Trevor Noah over Epstein Island joke at Grammy Awards

play

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has threatened to sue Trevor Noah after the comedian joked during the Grammy Awards about Trump and former President Bill Clinton visiting sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s private island.

In a post on Truth Social in the early morning hours of February 2, Trump denied ever visiting Epstein’s Little St. James Island in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been on or near Epstein Island, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statements, I have never been accused of being there, including by the fake news media,” Trump said. “Noah, you’re a complete loser, you better get your facts straight and get it straight ASAP. You’re going to have to send in a lawyer and sue this pathetic, pathetic, talentless, stupid MC for a lot of money.”

Noah, who hosted the 68th Grammy Awards on February 1st, made the remarks in a monologue after congratulating singer Billie Eilish on winning the Grammy Award for Best Song of the Year.

“Every artist wants a Grammy as much as President Trump wants Greenland. That makes sense. So Epstein’s island is gone, so he needs a new island to play with Bill Clinton,” Noah said. “Oh, you said this was your last year. What are you going to do?” the comedian added as the crowd roared.

At the beginning of the show, South African Noah, who has hosted the past six Grammy Awards, attacked Trump again and said this would be his last time hosting the Grammy Awards. “I believe in term limits. I want to set an example for those who watch the show. I want them to go home when their time is up,” he said.

The Grammy Awards were broadcast on CBS. Trump’s latest legal threat comes after Paramount agreed in July to pay Trump $16 million to settle a lawsuit against CBS over the editing of former Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview. In December 2024, ABC News agreed to donate $15 million to Trump’s future presidential library to settle a lawsuit over anchor George Stephanopoulos’ comments on a civil lawsuit filed against Trump by author E. Jean Carroll.

“Ask Little George Thropadopolis and others how everything went,” Trump wrote in the post. “Also ask CBS! Noah, get ready, I’m going to have some fun with you!”

Noah’s Epstein joke came on the heels of the Justice Department’s release on January 30 of an additional 3 million pages of Epstein investigative documents that referenced a number of powerful people, including Trump, billionaire tech executive Elon Musk and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. The documents do not confirm that Trump or Clinton visited Epstein’s island.

However, Trump has previously accused Clinton and others of visiting Epstein’s island despite a lack of evidence. Epstein said in a 2015 email released by the House Oversight Committee in November that Clinton had never visited the island. “Mr. Clinton was never there, never,” Epstein wrote.

Epstein owned two islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands: Little St. James and Great St. James. Many of Epstein’s alleged trafficking cases of underage girls reportedly occurred at his compound in Little St. James.

Following criticism from Epstein’s survivors, the Justice Department withheld approximately 2.5 million documents in its holdings, citing a variety of privileges, including concerns about victim privacy, depictions of child sexual abuse, an active federal investigation, and legally protected communications between attorney and client.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche refuted any claims that the department was trying to protect the powerful. “We failed to protect President Trump,” Branch said. “We didn’t protect anyone, and we didn’t protect anyone.”

Did the groundhog see his shadow? Phil’s predictions for 2026

0

play

Good news for everyone enjoying the harsh winter weather this year.

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Monday, February 2nd. So, according to legend, winter will last for another six weeks.

The annual Groundhog Day ceremony, held every February 2, took place Monday morning in front of a crowd of several thousand people at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, about 130 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

It’s not uncommon for Phil to predict a longer winter, and he said the same thing just last year. Phil has seen his shadow a total of 110 times since Groundhog Day was recorded.

Why do we celebrate Groundhog Day?

Groundhog Day is celebrated on February 2nd every year. Although it’s not a federal holiday, it’s worth noting that it’s the day on which the famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil predicts the upcoming weather.

Legend has it that if Phil sees his own shadow, six more weeks of winter will come. Otherwise, early spring awaits.

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Groundhog Day falls on the same day as the Christian holiday Candlemas, which is where some of the holiday’s traditions originate.

Candlemas were developed to predict the planting of crops, so an important aspect of the festival was to predict either an early spring or a long winter. Sunshine on Candlemas was said to signal the continuation of winter.

According to the almanac, Europeans traditionally relied on bears and badgers to find signs of the return of winter or the coming of spring, but when German settlers arrived in Pennsylvania, they instead used groundhogs to make predictions.

What would Punxsutawney Phil say in 2025?

Last year, Phil saw his shadow in front of more than 30,000 people, heralding six more weeks of winter.

He predicted an early spring in 2024, only the 21st time since records began for this event.

Groundhog has predicted that winter will be longer four times in the past six years: in 2025, 2023, 2022, and 2021.

Vanguard cuts fees on many mutual funds and ETFs, reflecting industry trends

0

play

Vanguard on February 2 announced lower management fees for 53 investment funds, continuing an industry trend of lowering the cost of managing mutual funds and ETFs.

The investment firm says the lower fees will save investors nearly $250 million in 2026.

Vanguard has reduced fees over the past two years, saving investors approximately $600 million, the company said. Vanguard funds’ average “expense ratio” currently stands at 0.06%, or 6 cents on every $100.

A year ago, Vanguard said it was cutting management fees for 87 investment funds, the largest reduction in its history.

Vanguard is the second-largest asset manager after BlackRock, according to the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute. Vanguard has $12 trillion in assets under management.

What is expense ratio?

In the investment industry, expense ratio is the annual cost of owning a mutual fund or exchange-traded fund. Basically, it is a management fee paid by the investor to the management company.

Fees are expressed as a percentage of the investment amount. Fees tend to be higher for actively managed funds and lower for “passive” funds that track the performance of a market index.

Bankrate said in a June 2025 report that fees over 1% are “high and should be avoided.”

Expense ratios are coming down. Average fees for equity mutual funds have fallen from 0.99% in 2000 to 0.4% in 2024 on an asset-weighted basis, according to Bankrate, a calculation that favors large funds.

Currently, many passive funds have expense ratios below 0.1%, or 10 cents per $100.

A March 2025 report from the nonprofit Investment Company Institute said the gradual decline in expense ratios reflects a shift to no-load funds, which typically do not charge commissions or commissions when buying and selling stocks.

According to the institute, between 1996 and 2024, expense ratios for equity mutual funds fell by 62%. Bond fund expense ratios fell by 55%.

Which Vanguard funds have low fees?

Here are some examples of new Vanguard fund fee reductions.

  • For the Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund, the expense ratio fell from 0.14% to 0.06%.
  • For the Vanguard Total International Bond Index Fund, the expense ratio fell from 0.06% to 0.03%.
  • For the Vanguard International High Dividend Yield ETF, the expense ratio fell from 0.17% to 0.07%.

Vanguard is owned by funds managed by the company and is structured to return value to investors, company officials said.

“Vanguard is investor-owned. We have no external shareholders or internal owners who profit from our customers,” Vanguard CEO Salim Ramzi said in a release. “These fee savings of more than $500 million over the past two years clearly express our purpose and commitment to our clients as owners.”

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie, is missing from Arizona, authorities announced late Wednesday.

Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a press conference that around noon local time on Sunday, February 1st, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that Nancy Guthrie, 84, was missing from her home in suburban Tucson.

“Mr. Guthrie is 84 years old and in poor health, so of course we are very concerned,” Nanos said. “The situation on the ground at the house is of some concern to us as well.”

Nancy Guthrie is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes, according to a missing person flyer. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Office at (520) 351-4900.

In a statement, the “TODAY” show told USA TODAY that Guthrie’s family “appreciates the support, thoughts and prayers.”

“We can confirm that this is a missing person case and the family is working closely with local law enforcement,” the statement said.

Savannah Guthrie previously spoke about her relationship with her mother

Savannah Guthrie has been open about her close relationship with her mother over the years on the “TODAY” show.

“She faced life’s unthinkable challenges without self-pity, with determination, and always with unwavering faith,” Savannah Guthrie said in a eulogy on her mother’s 80th birthday in 2022.

This is a developing story.

Grammy Performance Ranking – Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Gaga and more

0

Last year, Chapel Lawn and Doech graced music’s biggest night with an outstanding performance that was both frenetic and moving.

And on February 1, a new group of performers took to the Grammys stage, including Sabrina Carpenter, Rosé, Lady Gaga and a Best New Artist nominee. Artists such as Bad Bunny, who won Album of the Year, and Billie Eilish, who won Song of the Year, made strong political statements in their speeches, and Cher received a (surprise) Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year’s awards ceremony capped off a whirlwind weekend in Los Angeles. Mariah Carey was praised by Mushicare for her artistic and philanthropic achievements, and the K-Pop Demon Hunters team rocked Clive Davis’ party with their Oscar-nominated performance of “Golden.”

Here are the best and worst musical moments from the 2026 Grammy Awards.

11. Bruno Mars and Rosé, “APT”

Mars and Blackpink singer Rosé opened the show with a searing take on her 2024 smash “APT.,” a frothy clap-along stomper that interpolated Toni Basile’s 1982 single “Mickey.” Mars, always a consummate showman, was quieter than I’ve seen him in previous performances, standing there tapping his electric guitar. Instead, he ceded the stage to Rosé, a pop-punk chic wearing a white tank top and loose black tie. The New Zealand-Korean singer pranced and mugged for the cameras in playful rock star fashion, but her vocals were often drowned out by Mars’ stalwart backing band, The Hooligans.

10. Lady Gaga “Abracadabra”

Lady Gaga was born ready to win the Grammys. Despite winning 16 awards (so far!), the singer took to the stage on Sunday with nothing to prove. But that didn’t seem to stop her.

Balancing on her head in the shape of an oversized lampshade adorned with black and red eyelashes, Gaga belted out songs from her latest album, reminiscent of the raucous rock-adjacent pop of her early days. With blinding strobe lights and hilarious choreography, the singer reaffirmed her ability to bring her little horror shop to the big stage without sacrificing any of the high notes.

9. Bruno Mars “I Just Might”

Bruno Mars returned to the stage midway through the show and performed a sensationally smooth rendition of “I Just Might,” which had everyone from Haim to Joni Mitchell ecstatic in their seats. Against a backdrop of glittering hearts, the charismatic troubadour, dressed head to toe in fire engine red and white, danced in sync with a horn section to retro nostalgic tunes. No, it wasn’t something we’d never seen before, but it was a welcome offer from one of our most consistent and reliable entertainers.

8. Alex Warren, Laura Young, Olivia Dean, Sombre (Best Newcomer Medley, Part 2)

The second half of the Best Newcomers medley was a soulful blend of artistry. TikToker-turned-chart-topper Alex Warren got off to a rocky start with a performance of his hugely popular single ‘Ordinary’. Reaching behind his suit to adjust his earphones and eventually tearing them both off, Warren fell behind the music during the first half of his performance. The song, which was clearly a tech mixup, was made even better by the strength of his vocals, but when he found the beat, their frantic lapses made the love song feel complete again.

Laura Young’s “Messy” sounded almost unrecognizable because the song was slowed down and turned into a ballad as heard on the internet. Sitting at the keys of a sleek black grand piano, Young’s haunting vocals bounced off the arena walls, and a new, laid-back arrangement made the lyrics even more searing.

Best New Artist winner Olivia Dean brought a ’70s disco vibe to her performance of “Man I Need.” Dean danced with a microphone cord like a singer twice his age, exuding energy that said, “I’m having as much fun as you.” In a flippy red minidress and sky-high heels, Dean’s bouncy curls moved excitedly to the beat.

In the medley, Sombre performed a “12 on 12” exercise performance wearing a suit with the image of a disco ball with a glittering ribbon and an exposed chest. His falsetto was sometimes thin, contrasting with his raucous mid-range timbre. But his voice wasn’t the star of the show, drowned out by his energetic wandering through the crowd, twirling his doechies and inviting the rest of the celebrity guests to dance.

7. The Marias, Addison Rae, Katsy, Leon Thomas (Best Newcomer Medley, Part 1)

Dream pop band The Marias kicked off their expansive Best New Artists medley with the lively “No One Noticed,” drawing us in with their gothic aesthetic, swirling guitars, and lyrics in a gorgeous blend of English and Spanish.

Addison Rae wowed the crowd with a kaleidoscopic, pre-recorded performance of “Fame is a Gun” as she wriggled next to a truck in a trench coat, before revealing her sparkling lavender bra and skirt. Cheeky up-and-comer Britney Spears did herself proud as she performed her hypnotic choreography and sly commentary on celebrities with razor-like precision in a parking lot.

Next, international girl group Katseye exploded from the stage with the fun, chaotic, and hyperactive “Gnarly,” followed by Leon Thomas oozing cool with the funky, searing “Mutt,” performing in a denim pantsuit and oversized shades.

6. Pharrell Williams, Malice, Pusha T “So Far Ahead”

It may be the Grammys, but for Pharrell and his brother, there’s still time for Sunday service. Super-producer and hip-hop duo Clipse (aka Malice and Pusha T) brought the audience into the church to close out the ceremony.

Pharrell belted out a soulful rendition of “So Far Ahead,” from his latest album, “Let God Sort ‘Em Out,” with his angelic vocals so delicate that it took me a while to realize that the lyrics were far from hymn-like. Assisted by a church choir wearing dresses from Louis Vuitton, the fashion house of which Pharrell is creative director, the performance was as uplifting as it was experimental, providing a fitting clash of cymbals to end the night.

5. Reba McIntyre, Brandi Clark, and Lukas Nelson. Post Malone, Andrew Watt, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan and Slash pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne

Reba McIntyre marked the moment with a sweet, soothing tribute, harmonizing beautifully with Brandi Clark and Lukas Nelson on her anthem “Trailblazer.” “Talk about a trailblazer / I’m rolling down the path you paved,” she sings in her unmistakable voice, surrounded by dainty candles and a bed of flowers.

Post Malone then joined an all-star band that included Andrew Watt, Duff McKagan, and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith to pay tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne with a passionate and exhilarating arrangement of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.” Malone has once again proven himself to be a musical shapeshifter. Jumping effortlessly from rap to pop to country to heavy metal, his wailing vocals and gravelly growl made you want to make a full-fledged rock album next.

Justin Bieber, who last performed live in Toronto in February 2024, made his long-awaited return to the Grammy Awards with “Yukon” from his surprise album Swag released last summer. Shirtless and wearing only socks and silver pants (or was it boxers?), Bieber gave a low-key performance that put his professional musical talent first.

The R&B star sang the ruminative love song with his eyes closed and arms crossed, demonstrating the buttery, expressive vocals that have made him a global pop icon. It was impressive to see him using a loop machine to sample an electric guitar in real time, even if he sometimes seemed uncomfortable returning to the spotlight. And the frequent cuts to his beloved wife, Hailey Baldwin-Bieber, put a nice ribbon on Bieber’s much-welcomed comeback.

3. Tyler the Creator “Thought I Was Dead” “Sugar On My Tongue”

Tyler, The Creator has proven he’s more of a music writer than an everyday artist with an imaginative and detailed mashup from his latest album. Beginning his performance with a mask that matched his film noir aesthetic and singular art, the rapper brought “I Thought I Was Dead” to life while holding a wad of dynamite and saying word for word.

After a brief cameo from Regina King, Tyler reveals what he does best, jumping out of a shockingly lifelike 90’s dopamine-filled car and delivering a hilarious rendition of “Sugar on My Tongue.” The concept of the performance was so focused that at times it risked overshadowing Tyler’s singing abilities (though his dancing never did). But his artistry shined through, drawing thunderous applause from Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny.

Sabrina Carpenter is second to none. The diminutive pop star wasn’t the first performer of the night, but she accepted the baton with the polished ease of a touring performer who’s spent time under the tutelage of Taylor Swift.

Carpenter turned the Grammy stage into a baggage claim during Panam’s heyday with a passionate rendition of his tongue-in-cheek single “Manchild.” Her pin-up girl glam was strong, as she used air traffic control lighters and pilot pins to lead the men in a synchronized dance to complete her look.

What Carpenter lacked in live vocals at the time, he more than made up for in camp and showmanship, mocking the many men who fell at his feet and twirled around in white button-down pilot uniforms — if pilots were wearing booty shorts.

1. Lauryn Hill’s tribute to D’Angelo and Roberta Flack

Some of the genre’s current giants have spoken out in a touching tribute to R&B icon D’Angelo, who took a break from music after releasing several blockbuster albums. Performing hits from D’Angelo’s limited but celebrated catalogue, Lucky Day, Leon Thomas and Bilal were among the rich, emotional voices that rode the wave of music once made famous by the singer.

Their memorial was followed by a moving ensemble performance dedicated to Roberta Flack led by Ms. Lauryn Hill. Engaging the audience with a masterful performance of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” Hill exposed the raw emotion that infused Flack’s lyricism with magic.

Wyclef Jean, Leon Bridges and Chaka Khan were among other notable singers who joined Hill on stage to pay tribute. Ending with a rendition of “Killing Me Softly” that had the audience on their feet, the moment melted from somberness to elation as Flack’s clear and present influence on the venue became apparent.

Here are 7 estate planning tips to avoid probate

Estate planners say one of the best gifts you can leave your heirs when you die is a plan to avoid probate.

Probate is a legal process that distributes a deceased person’s assets and settles debts. Many wealthy families go to great lengths to avoid it.

The probate process can take many months and cost thousands of dollars, depending on the size and complexity of the estate, state probate laws, and other factors.

“Probate is extremely expensive and something everyone wants to avoid,” said Craig Parker, assistant general counsel at Trust & Will. “It’s going to cost several thousand dollars. If you need legal help, it could be upwards of $10,000.”

In terms of time, “it can take months, even years, to get through probate court,” he said.

So here are some tips to avoid probate.

Aiming for “small real estate”

If the estate is small, probate court can generally be avoided.

The definition of “small” varies by state. According to Justia’s research, the criteria ranges from around $25,000 in assets to more than $100,000.

If you die with assets below the state’s small inheritance threshold, your survivors will likely be able to avoid full probate.

“If we can get it below that number, the process will be smooth and simple,” Parker said.

To settle a small estate, an eligible spouse, child, or other loved one typically completes a small estate affidavit.

“It’s like a one-page document that says, ‘I’m the guy who says I’m going to take care of this,'” says Brian Whitlock, a certified public accountant and estate planning attorney in Chicago.

Are you saying you’re worth more than $100,000?

Here are some ways to convert large assets into small real estate.

Specify beneficiary names

Your estate may include a variety of assets that will be in your name when you pass away.

However, if you designate a beneficiary, the assets will pass to someone else upon your death and will no longer be part of your estate.

You can designate beneficiaries for retirement accounts, insurance policies, brokerage accounts, savings accounts, checking accounts, and more. When you die, your assets pass to your beneficiaries.

“When you list beneficiaries, these are all called non-probate items,” said Brijinder Grewal, director of tax, trusts and estates at Charles Schwab.

If you do not designate a beneficiary, the assets in your name typically become part of your estate for probate purposes.

Estate planning experts recommend naming a contingent beneficiary in case the primary beneficiary dies. For example, a spouse, then children, or children and grandchildren. You want the living to receive your assets when you pass away.

Consider a living trust

A living trust is a legal document that manages your assets during your lifetime and determines what happens to them after your death.

Trusts can help you avoid probate because assets placed in a trust do not count toward your probate estate.

However, keep in mind that once you open a trust, you will need to move assets into the trust for it to be effective.

“Get bigger accounts and name them in the name of the trust,” Whitlock said.

Some assets, including IRAs, cannot be placed in a trust. Many other assets are also possible.

Grewal said one of the biggest mistakes in estate planning is establishing a trust and then neglecting to transfer assets into the trust. Even if you leave a large account in your name, probate may be triggered upon your death.

decide what to do with your home

For many middle-class families, there is no greater asset than the family home.

And there are ways to keep your home out of probate court, estate planners say.

One is a “transfer on death” deed, which changes ownership of your home upon your death and allows it to pass to your beneficiaries, avoiding probate. According to Trust and Will, many states allow transfer on death deeds.

Another option is to transfer your home into a trust. You can appoint yourself as a trustee to manage your home until you pass away and the home is passed on to a successor trustee.

Consider shared ownership, but with caution

Another way to avoid probate is to put another person’s name on the assets. In the case of a “joint tenancy”, when you die, your co-tenant usually becomes full owner of the property.

“On death, it automatically passes to the surviving tenant,” Whitlock said. “All they have to do is show the death certificate.”

However, joint tenancy can be a risky move while you are still alive. If co-owners are sued, divorced, or go bankrupt, joint assets can be dragged into legal quagmire.

“Co-tenancy can be dangerous,” Whitlock said.

Clean up your account

Experts say when planning your estate, take a close look at how your accounts are named.

If you have a living trust and want to avoid probate, make sure high-value accounts belong to that trust and not to you.

If your spouse or partner dies, be sure to remove their name from the account and transfer their assets into your own name or into the name of a trust.

Review the way you title your accounts every few years.

“The title itself is really a roadmap to real estate management,” said Michael Dearing, a partner at Mowery & Schoenfeld Wealth Management in Chicago. “And I would like to plan my route before I go through it.”

Communicate your estate plan

Perhaps the biggest step you can take to prepare your heirs when you pass away is to share your estate plan.

If you created a living trust and named a trustee and beneficiaries, let them know. If you plan to avoid probate court, explain it to your heirs.

“Keep a financial inventory for your children that shows where their accounts are and who their institutional contacts are,” Grewal says.

“Conversation is one of the most powerful estate planning tools,” he said.

U.S. Olympic Milan-Cortina hospitality space renamed after ICE protest

The national governing bodies for the three U.S. Winter Olympics winter sports have renamed a hospitality space in Milan over concerns about ICE protests in Italy during the Olympics, a person with direct knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports on Sunday afternoon. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

USA Figure Skating, USA Hockey and USA Speed Skating have decided to change the name of the Ice House to the Winter House.

“Our hospitality concept was designed to be a private, distraction-free space where athletes, their families and friends can gather to celebrate the unique experience of the Winter Olympics. The name captures that vision and connects us to the season and the event,” NGB said in a joint statement provided to USA TODAY Sports.

The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee typically welcomes athletes and sponsors to USA House during the Games. However, due to the remote location of the 2026 Milan-Cortino Olympic Games, this was not possible at this Olympic Games, so the three Milan-based sports that are all played or performed on ice decided to set up their own hospitality venues together.

Over the weekend, a protest against the presence of ICE agents at the Olympics drew hundreds of people in Milan.

This is a developing story.
