Harris criticizes Trump in his first major speech since leaving office
Former Vice President Kamala Harris said in her first major speech since she left office that she has witnessed the “abandonment” of American ideals.
Americans’ satisfaction with President Donald Trump’s second acquisition in the Oval Office has generally diminished since he took office.
The poll stream released this week, coinciding with his first 100 days, shows the approval of the second-term president’s performance, reaching historic lows not seen by other presidents in recent decades.
On average in recent polls published by RealClearPolitics’ voting data division, Trump’s approval rate accounted for around 45% from late April to early May.
Trump’s recent approval numbers from the low to the mid-40s are a notable deviation from most presidents’ first 100 days. Gallup data shows that other presidents who accumulate such a small approval rate are Trump himself, the first semester in April 2017 when favors fell to 41%.
Some of the latest polls released this week are talking about Americans’ perceptions of the president’s job performance.
Latest polls on Trump’s approval assessment
President Donald Trump celebrated his first 100 days at the jubilant Michigan Rally on April 29th, but the latest voting data generally painted a different picture.
Several other polls released during the week of April 20th-26th provided even lower numbers. A poll released last week by CNN and Economist/YouGov gave the president a 41% approval rate. Trump’s approval rate was lowest in an April 25 poll from the Washington Post, ABC News and Ipsos, giving him a 39% favorable rating. This is down 6 percentage points from a similar survey released in mid-February.

So far, when asked to assess the president’s performance in the president’s office, nearly half of respondents failed Republicans, with 23% giving him an A.
A nationwide survey of adults was conducted from April 21st to 23rd with an error range of ±3.3 percentage points.

Economic dissatisfaction is a common sloop line in recent votes and has become one of the most consequential issues affecting Trump’s favor. In an Economist/YouGov poll conducted between April 25th and 28th, 41% approved and 51% disapproved.

Emerson College’s polls

Another 10% of respondents described themselves as neutral. The number of presidential approvals has fallen by two points since Emerson College conducted a similar survey showing Trump’s first 50 days in office, but those who disapproved remained unchanged.
Almost half of respondents say Trump’s economic policies are making the economy worse, while 29% believe that the administration’s policies are improving. Another 23% believe his policy is ineffective or that it’s too early to tell him. Overall, 37% have approved Trump’s handling of the US economy, while 49% disapprove.
The vote took place between April 25th and 28th, with an error range of ±3 percentage points.
Reuters/Ipsos polls

The Reuters/Ipsos poll, released on April 30, rounded out the month with a continuation of numbers seen in a survey conducted a week ago.
Frustration with the economy, immigration and trade war has greatly promoted respondent favor, with Trump’s approval of economic management at 36%, the lowest level he’s ever had through both terms, a one-point drop from the outlet’s last poll.
Meanwhile, approval of the president’s stance on immigration between the two surveys remains at 45%, while disapproval has risen two points from 46% last week to 48% this week.
The latest poll was conducted April 25-27 with an error range of about 3% points.
