Mega Millions: There’s a big change in the lottery
Lottery officials say the prices of huge millions of tickets will rise, but they also say the higher price trade-offs will result in a bigger jackpot.

Several Illinois lottery players were “blessed” after winning the Mega Millions Jackpot in March.
The anonymous winner claimed a $349 million mega million jackpot on April 30, about a month after the painting was held, state lottery officials said in a news release.
It wasn’t just profitable from cash. Casey’s general store in Cortland, a city more than 700 miles west of Chicago, received a $500,000 bonus to sell winning tickets.
“We took the opportunity and bought one quick pick ticket,” the individual told state lottery officials. “We are absolutely ec and we are incredibly blessed. We are going to spend this money and do good things. This incredible prize is a gift that we really keep giving.”
The “historic” victory marked the fourth time an Illinois lottery player won the Mega Millions Jackpot in nearly four years. The next Mega Millions drawing, with an estimated $80 million in jackpots, will take place on May 2nd.
USA Today contacted Illinois lottery officials on April 30 to confirm the winner’s details.
When will you draw the next Mega Millions? How can I play?
The next drawing, which determines the number of wins for the $80 million jackpot, is 11pm EST on Friday, May 2nd.
A huge millions of drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11pm ET. Tickets are available up to 15 minutes before the drawing is made.
Five of the numbers are from white balls from gold megaballs in the range of 1-70 and the last ones are from white balls from gold megaballs in the range of 1-25. Players can also choose the “Easy Pick” or “Quick Pick” option.
“Megaplier”, the $1 add-on feature, allows you to increase your non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times. A huge drawing is drawn in front of each regular Mega Million picture. From the pool of 15 balls, six are marked “3x”, five are marked “2x”, three are marked “4x”, and one is marked “5x”.

Tickets can be purchased directly at gas stations, convenience stores and grocery stores. Some airport terminals may also sell lottery tickets.
