Packer up! July 29th is National Lipstick Day, and brands and cosmetics retailers are celebrating with deep discounts on customers’ favorite products. That means you might be able to buy your favorite lipstick for almost half the price, or even discover a new signature shade.
The origins of National Lipstick Day are not exactly known, but some theories trace it back to Huda Beauty founder Huda Kattan, who bought the rights to the day in 2016 to celebrate the launch of a new lip product. The holiday was also celebrated unofficially before then.
“I bought the rights to National Lipstick Day in 2016 to celebrate the launch of Liquid Matte. Since then, we’ve expanded our lip collection with new shades and color combinations,” Kattan told Bustle in 2018.
Other brands and retailers are also jumping on the bandwagon, offering sales and discounts this year. Here’s a roundup of National Lipstick Day 2026 products.

Sephora is celebrating National Lip Day by offering discounts on select lip picks from top brands including the private label Sephora Collection, Clinique, Giso, Summer Fridays, Charlotte Tilbury, Cosus, and more.
In addition to deep discounts, the beauty retailer is offering daily sales from July 25th to July 29th, with up to 50% off select products from select brands.

Ulta Beauty is celebrating National Lipstick Week through Saturday, August 1st with up to 40% off lip liners, lip stains, glosses, lipsticks, and more from brands like MAC, Clinique, SACHEU, Too Faced, Lancôme, IT Cosmetics, NYX, and more.

Macy’s
Macy’s sells dozens of lipsticks from a variety of brands, including Mac, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, and more, at discounts ranging from 30% to 50%.

Selena Gomez’s beauty brand, Rare Beauty, is offering shoppers 30% off Kindwards Matte Lipstick and Soft Pinch Tint Lip Oil on its website from July 29th to 30th, as well as a free tinted clutch with purchases of $50 or more.
The brand also launched a new Soft Pinch Lip Oil Stick earlier this month, and Gomez wore the shade “Dream” at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding on July 3.

Nars is offering up to 40% off its lip lineup. The brand’s viral Explicit Lipstick is down from $42 to $29.40, and its Powermatte Lipstick is down from $36 to $21.60. Swifties know the brand carries “Morocco,” one of Taylor’s signature shades. A warm cinnamon color sold in the Explicit Lipstick series.
