July 27th will be the last day for eligible Amazon customers to seek a $2.5 billion settlement with the company and the Federal Trade Commission.
The settlement, reached in an antitrust case last year, will result in payments of up to $51 to some Amazon customers.
The suit alleges that Amazon forced consumers to sign up for Prime membership and then made it difficult to cancel.
The current claims period ends July 27 and is the second phase of payments in the settlement. In the first, eligible customers received automatic payments last year.
Amazon has denied wrongdoing and said it works to make canceling a Prime membership “clear and easy for customers.”
Who is eligible to receive money from Amazon payments?
Only some Amazon customers are eligible for settlement payments. According to the court order in this case, a customer is eligible if they meet both of the following criteria:
- They enrolled in Prime between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025.
- They either tried unsuccessfully to cancel their Prime subscription or signed up for Prime through what the document calls a “registration request flow.”
- “Dispute” flow means a subscription initiated through certain pages on the Amazon website, including the “universal Prime decision page, shipping option selection page, Prime Video registration flow, or single page checkout” pursuant to a court order.
At this stage of the settlement, only eligible Amazon customers who redeemed their Prime benefits 10 times or fewer during a 12-month enrollment period can file a claim.
How to request payment via Amazon payment
Eligible Amazon customers have until July 27 to submit claims to receive payment from the settlement.
Customers can make a claim by filling out a form on the online portal. Submissions will be reviewed for eligibility.
Claims can also be submitted by email by sending a completed claim form to info@subscriptionmembershipsettlement.com, but the payment website says the quickest way to do so is through the online portal.
Those eligible to file a claim should have received a notification by email or mail, the payments website said.
How much money will Amazon customers get from the settlement?
Customers can receive up to $51 from the settlement.
The amount each customer will receive in settlement will be based on the total amount of Amazon Prime membership fees paid during the subscription period.
When will I receive my payment from Amazon?
Amazon has 30 days after receiving each form to review it.
Payments are expected to be made by September, after the claim submission window closes, according to the payment website.
Automatic payments issued as part of the first wave were sent between November 12 and December 24, 2025.
