McDonald’s brings back fried apple pie that fans won’t forget
McDonald’s is bringing back its fan-favorite fried apple pie. See if it still tastes the same as USA TODAY’s Mike Snyder remembered.
If you love McDonald’s breakfast, give this a try.
The fast food chain announced it will introduce new Honey Brown Butter Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuits at participating restaurants nationwide starting Tuesday, July 21st. The biscuits will be available for a limited time, the company told USA TODAY.
“The breakfast sandwich is the perfect take on the classic bacon, egg and cheese, with these ingredients sandwiched between two freshly baked biscuits and drizzled with creamy, savory honey-brown butter,” McDonald’s Menu Spotter site says.
McDonald’s told USA TODAY that customers can add honey brown butter to their breakfast sandwiches at participating locations. Honey brown butter crispy chicken biscuits are also available in some markets. Availability varies by restaurant, so the company recommends checking the McDonald’s app to see what’s available at your local location.
The Honey Brown Butter Biscuits will be added to the chain’s Caesar Sauce menu as a limited-time menu item, and will go on sale on July 21st. According to McDonald’s, the new Caesar sauce is described as a “creamy, garlicky Parmesan blend infused with lemon flavor.”
The following menu items can be modified with McDonald’s Caesar sauce (prices may vary by market):
- Caesar Snack Wraps: McCrispie strips topped with shredded cheese, shredded lettuce and Caesar sauce wrapped in a tortilla (available nationwide for $2.99).
- McCrispie strips with Caesar sauce: The McCrispie strips, which the restaurant chain debuted in May, are paired with a new Caesar sauce.
- Bacon Caesar McCrispie: McCrispie fillet is a toasted potato roll topped with Caesar sauce, bacon, shredded lettuce, Roma tomatoes, onions, and crinkle-cut pickles.
McDonald’s also has a Happy Meal inspired by BTS
The new BT21 Happy Meals will go on sale at participating McDonald’s stores nationwide on July 14, and each meal will include one of 10 BT21 toys depicting the galaxy-exploring characters of K-pop supergroup BTS.
The seven-member Korean boy band, which debuted in 2013, created the BT21 character in 2017 with the help of entertainment intellectual property company Line Friends. The company also makes toys and products featuring Mighteez, a character created with brands such as another K-pop boy group ATEEZ and Sesame Street.
Each character in BT21 reflects the personality of the performer. According to BT21’s website, Cookie, played by main vocalist Jungkook, is loyal and “always full of heart and infinite stamina.”
McDonald’s told USA TODAY that each Happy Meal box will have a QR code that, when scanned, opens an “interactive digital experience that transports you into the world of BT21’s music.”
