Lowe’s plans to open a new store in the South by mid-2026 with a redesigned kitchen showroom and other amenities.
The store will open in early August, the company announced in a news release. Lowe’s added that all new stores, including those opening in August, will feature new larger, more interactive product displays and a new countertop experience with larger slabs.
The North Carolina-based home improvement company operates more than 1,750 home improvement stores and 120 distribution centers.
Here’s what we know about the new store and its location.
Where will Lowe’s open new stores?
Lowe’s announced on Tuesday, July 14, that the store will open in just a few weeks or in early August. The store is located at 600 Kings Fort Parkway in Kaufman, Texas, part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.
The location is the eighth Lowe’s store to open in Texas in the past year, according to Lowe’s. It will be the fifth location to open in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area since early 2025, the company said.
Lowe’s hopes to hire more than 100 people for full-time and part-time positions.
The 95,000 square foot space also includes a 30,000 square foot outdoor garden area.
What’s new at Lowe’s?
The company said in a news release that, like all new stores for the brand, the Kaufman, Texas store will include:
- The redesigned kitchen showroom features larger product displays and signage including a QR code linking to a style quiz, budget calculator and 3D visualizer.
- A digital paint kiosk where customers can order paint without having to wait in line.
- A paint visualizer tool that helps customers browse Sherwin-Williams colors online to see how different paint colors will look in their space and match the hues on their in-store paint desks.
- The AI digital assistant, called Mylow, recommends products, helps you order, and answers your home improvement questions.
- Buy online and pick up in-store at your pick-up zone.
Lowe’s said it also features an AI-powered materials list that can turn handwritten notes, photos, spreadsheets and other file types into orders.
