Carli Lloyd has clapped back at trolls over body-shaming.
After a social media user posted an image of the pregnant National Soccer Hall of Famer during the USMNT’s game against Belgium with the caption, “Mom, you look like you’ve been resting a lot lately,” Lloyd fired back: “I know you’re a gentleman. Are you always disrespecting women? Do you feel good hiding behind your keyboard?”
Lloyd, 43, is an analyst for Fox Sports Studios during the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Llyod is scheduled for September
The two-time World Cup champion with the USWNT announced in April that she and husband Brian Hollins are expecting their second child in September. The couple married in November 2016 and welcomed their first child, daughter Harper, in October 2024.
“Our family is growing and we couldn’t be more grateful,” Lloyd captioned a slideshow of photos she posted on Instagram, including a shot of Harper wearing a sweater that read “Sister.” “We are soaking in all the gratitude, love, and excitement as we prepare to welcome another little miracle into our lives. We still can’t believe we’re having another baby and our hearts are so full.”
Lloyd won the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup with the USWNT and was named FIFA Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016. He also scored the winning goal and won gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, and won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2021 Tokyo Games.
