Taylor Swift’s Wedding – What Adam Sandler Said at Travis Kelsey’s Ceremony

Date:

Kiss her three times, she’s been waiting all her life.

Adam Sandler officiated at the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday, July 3, and according to Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, the “Happy Gilmore” star gave the couple “pretty good” marriage advice during the ceremony.

“He told them to keep kissing,” Reed told the Deseret News. “So, in its simplest form, it’s a good thing. When you kiss your wife, or when your wife kisses you, it’s hard to argue. And just make sure you do it every minute of every day that you have the opportunity to do it. If you knock it out, you won’t have any problems.”

Reed added that Sandler was “hysterical” and “he did a great job with their marriage with a lot of humor.”

Sandler’s choice to officiate Swift and Kelsey’s wedding surprised some fans, but the Kansas City Chiefs star worked with Sandler when he appeared in the comedian’s 2025 film Happy Gilmore 2. Swift is also close to Sandler’s daughters, Sunny and Sadie, as well as his wife, Jackie Sandler.

Sandler was a guest on Kelsey’s New Heights podcast and said in a 2024 episode that Swift “means a lot to our family.”

“She just disgusts my family,” Sandler continued. “Surprise them! Someone asked me, who do you get nervous in front of? I replied, ‘I get nervous in front of Taylor Swift.’ Because I don’t want to get nervous or say something stupid for the kids! ”

The “Grown Ups” star also told Kelsey on the podcast, “When you guys first started dating, my God, my family was like, ‘Yeah! Look how good you two are!'”

Swift and Kelsey chose not to have bridesmaids or groomsmen for their wedding. The singer’s older brother, Austin, served as the man of honor, and Kelce’s younger brother, Jason, served as the chaperone.

Details of Sandler’s speech at the wedding were not disclosed, but AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron, who attended the ceremony, wrote in a later-deleted X post that the “officiant,” whom he did not name, “sang and talked” and was “warm and welcoming, funny and eloquent.”

Joseph Kahn, who directed numerous of Swift’s music videos, also said on Instagram that the entire wedding was “much more interesting and emotional than I expected.”
