AOC trolls Fox News after voter defended her work on air
In an interview on Fox News, one voter was quick to defend himself when asked what he had done for the district. The MP replied:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded to Vice President J.D. Vance’s assertion that she would be a strong Democratic presidential candidate.
Vance is considered one of the front-runners for the 2028 Republican nomination, although the congressman has sparked speculation in recent months about whether he is interested in the senior job.
she said:
Vance claims AOC will be a strong Democratic candidate; House members react
In a recent interview on The Michael Knowles Show, Vance was asked who he thought would be the leading Democratic candidate in 2028.
“I think it has to be AOC,” the vice president said, according to CNN.
“I know that’s probably conventional wisdom.”
In response to Mr. Vance’s response, AOC told reporters that he also hopes to be a candidate.
What is AOC saying about the presidential race?
In an interview in May, the 36-year-old New York congressman didn’t immediately rule out the idea of running for another election, whether it be for a Senate seat or the White House.
“They think my ambition is for a title or a seat,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And my ambition is much bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country.”
The crowd cheered at her response.
“Presidents come and go. Senate seats, House seats, elected officials come and go,” she said. “But single-payer health care is forever, living wages are forever, workers’ rights are forever, women’s rights, all of that.”
This isn’t the first time she’s had to answer about her political ambitions. In February, AOC was asked a similar question during a panel discussion when the interviewer asked, “So when you run for president, are you going to impose a wealth tax or a billionaire tax?”
Instead of answering flatly, the congressman said Americans “don’t have to wait for some president to impose a wealth tax.”
“I think we need to take immediate action.”
AOC’s office did not immediately respond to USA TODAY Network’s request for comment on Vance’s comments.
