Publix, a grocery chain with steady growth across the Southeast, plans to open five new stores by early July and expand its footprint in Florida and Kentucky.
According to Publix’s New Store Openings page, openings are scheduled for June 11 to July 2 and will include four stores in Florida and one in Northern Kentucky. These additions build on the company’s network of more than 1,400 stores across eight states.
The grocer operates stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Publix was founded in 1930 by George W. Jenkins in Winter Haven, Florida, and the company says it currently employs more than 260,000 people.
