The NBA will investigate the actions of a fan who allegedly sat courtside at San Antonio’s Frostbank Center and directed profanities at New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson during Game 1 of the NBA Finals, NBA’s Chris Haynes reports on Prime and NBATV.

The paper said the comment was about Brunson’s “failure” and that Brunson, who scored 30 points in the 105-95 win, met with official Scott Foster after the game to discuss the fan’s comments.

The NBA’s Code of Conduct clearly outlines the behaviors that fans must follow when attending games.

“Guests may enjoy the basketball experience without engaging in or engaging in any form of profanity, abusive language, gambling-related or other harassment of players or other game participants, or lewd behavior,” the rules read in part.

Penalties for fan misconduct at NBA games are severe. The code of conduct states that anyone who violates this could face “ejection without refund, cancellation of season tickets and/or ban from attending future matches.” You may also violate local ordinances, resulting in arrest and prosecution.
