The U.S. stock market will be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.
The Nasdaq Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange will be closed on Monday and will reopen on Tuesday, May 26th. According to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, the U.S. bond market will close early on Friday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time and will remain closed for Memorial Day.
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Memorial Day is “our nation’s most important annual day of mourning and honoring our fallen military men and women.” This holiday commemorates those who died while serving in the U.S. military.
After the Memorial Day closure, Wall Street will remain open until mid-June. The next scheduled stock market closing is Friday, June 19th, in honor of Juneteenth.

- independence day: Friday, July 3rd
- labor day: Monday, September 7th
- Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 26th
