Taco Bell is adding a new Mexican pizza to its menu.
Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza ($6.49) will be available on Thursday, May 21st and will be served with a new jalapeño citrus salsa. This dish is made with slow-roasted chicken and black beans layered between crispy tortillas and topped with green chile sauce, a three-cheese blend, cabbage, and pico de gallo. Also includes avocado verde salsa.
Starting Tuesday, May 19th, members of the Taco Bell Rewards loyalty program can order Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza faster in the Taco Bell app.
The dish was one of many new menu items, including Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets, announced during the fast food chain’s Live Mass Live event in March.
“Mexican pizza is iconic for a reason. It’s the perfect layer of crispy, saucy, cheesy nostalgia that our fans have loved for years, so we didn’t want to reinvent it, we wanted to build on it,” Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s global chief food innovation officer, said in a statement. “And we know our fans take their sauces seriously, so we made sure our Jalapeno Citrus Salsa brings that extra sparkle to complement Cantina’s menu.”
Taco Bell’s Jalapeño Citrus Salsa is now available with a new Mexican pizza. Made with red jalapenos, guajillo chiles, and citrus fruits. For a limited time, Taco Bell says new sweet and spicy salsa packs and one avocado verde salsa will be available along with the entire lineup of limited-time Cantina Chicken. Additional packets can be purchased for 20 cents each.
