See the record-breaking launch of the ‘Project Hail Mary’ Lego set
A Lego set featuring a minifigure of Ryan Gosling’s “Project Hail Mary” character has been launched into the stratosphere.
Lego has a bit of magic in store.
To celebrate the quarter-century anniversary of The Lord of the Rings, the LEGO Group has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to launch an 8,278-piece set that recreates the majestic city of Gondor, or the legendary White City of Minas Tirith.
From towering architecture to iconic citadels, the impressive exhibit model captures “one of Middle-earth’s most memorable locations.”
According to a May 12 news release, the set features a hybrid-scale design, combining “an expansive micro-scale cityscape with detailed mini-figure-scale interior scenes.”
“From afar, builders can admire Minas Tirith’s vast skyline and defensive walls,” the release states. “You can explore key interior spaces up close, including the Citadel’s throne room, where key moments of the story unfold.”
The set also includes 10 minifigures, themed accessories, and the legendary Shadowfax horse figure to help “bring the world of Middle-earth to life.”

When will Lego’s latest Lord of the Rings set be released?
The 25th Anniversary Legacy Collection will be available to LEGO Insiders through early access on June 1st, and to the general public three days later on June 4th.
The LEGO Group says the set retails for $649.99 and can be purchased online or in person at your local LEGO store. Anyone who purchases a new set between June 1st and June 7th will receive the LEGO icon “Lord of the Rings” Grond as a bonus with their purchase.
The LEGO Group is also running a sweepstakes for LEGO Insiders to win the complete LEGO Icon Lord of the Rings product collection, as well as an all-inclusive trip to the Hobbiton movie set, the iconic filming location for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies.
Registration for the Sweepstakes ends on Tuesday, June 30th at 11:59pm ET. In addition to the sweepstakes, the LEGO Group will be holding an “exclusive launch event” for LEGO Insiders at select LEGO stores in the US on June 1st.
