Longest losing streak in MLB history: Phillies hold record

Date:

play

The 2024 Chicago White Sox are one step away, but the 1961 Philadelphia Phillies’ 23-game losing streak remains the longest in major league baseball.

Since the end of the 19th century, 12 teams have lost at least 19 games in a row, with the White Sox recently making MLB history by losing 121 games in the 2024 season.

The 1988 Baltimore Orioles also lost 21 straight games, which until then held the sole American League record. There have been other big losing streaks in the past few decades, including the 2005 Kansas City Royals and 2021 Baltimore Orioles, who lost 19 straight.

Will someone break the Phillies’ misery?
