What is Mega Millions?
Mega Millions is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tickets cost $5 and players choose five numbers from 1 to 70 (white balls) and one number from 1 to 24 (gold mega ball), or Quick Pick/Easy Pick, which randomly generates a number.
To win the jackpot, your ticket must match all six numbers. If multiple players hit the jackpot, the winnings will be split.
How to play Mega Millions
Tickets can be purchased at convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. Some states also allow online purchases.
Players select five white balls (1-70) and one mega ball (1-24). If you don’t want to choose the numbers yourself, you can choose Quick Pick, which lets the computer choose the numbers at random.
Mega Millions tickets have built-in multipliers that increase prizes other than the jackpot.
