March Madness is gone and on Monday, April 6, the Michigan men’s basketball team won the NCAA Championship.
The conclusion of the men’s NCAA Tournament means that between now and the end of the men’s college basketball season, college basketball fans have only one thing left: a shining moment.
Unsurprisingly, the nearly three-minute highlight reel did not disappoint.
This year’s version of “One Shining Moment,” which has been the soundtrack of the men’s NCAA Tournament since 1987, included some of the year’s top buzzer beaters, including High Point’s Chase Johnston’s layup to beat No. 5 Wisconsin in the first round and Otega Oweh’s 3-pointer from the logo to force overtime and extend Kentucky’s season by a day.
Of course, depending on the fan base, some heartbreaking moments were depicted, such as when Braylon Mullins hit a 3-pointer after Caden Boozer’s last-second turnover in the Elite Eight against the Huskies to send Connecticut out of the league to Indianapolis, which cost Duke a straight Final Four appearance.
Of course, it ended with the Wolverines capping off one of the best seasons for a men’s college basketball team with their first national championship since 1989.
