Lidl is recalling “entire batches” of its chocolate ladybugs due to labeling errors.

A German-owned discount supermarket chain has launched a recall after discovering that products containing nuts were distributed in packaging that did not disclose the presence of hazelnuts. Consumers have not yet reported any illnesses related to the recall.

Fabolina Chocolate Ladybugs contains an “undeclared hazelnut allergen,” which puts customers who purchase this product at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they ingest German-style nougat.

According to a March 12 notice posted by the Food and Drug Administration, Favolina chocolate ladybugs were distributed and sold in Lidl stores in the District of Columbia and nine states, including Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.

“The health and safety of our customers is our top priority, and we regret any inconvenience caused in connection with this voluntary recall,” Lidl US said in a statement. “Our quality assurance department is constantly working to ensure that every product on our shelves meets the high quality standards we expect when feeding our own families.”

“We are grateful to all Lidl US customers who choose to shop with us every day,” Lidl US added.

Here’s what you need to know:
