Disney “Winnie the Pooh” 100th anniversary merchandise released

Date:

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of AA Milne’s book, we’re launching a treasure trove of Winnie the Pooh themed merchandise. Includes Vera Bradley accessories and LEGO set.

For a stupid old bear, Winnie the Pooh doesn’t look like a centenarian.

Author AA Milne introduced the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood in his book “Winnie the Pooh,” published on October 14, 1926. Since then, countless cartoons, books and movies have been made featuring Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit and Tigger, including Disney’s 2011’s “Winnie the Pooh.”

Coinciding with the publication’s 100th anniversary, Disney will be rolling out a slew of Winnie the Pooh merchandise in the coming weeks, including two new Winnie the Pooh Lego sets and clothing for all Pooh fans, babies and adults alike.

“Winnie the Pooh is timeless…and has characters that bring so much comfort and joy,” said Amanda Dahlwin, vice president of global brand and commercialization for Disney Consumer Products. “So we’re bringing[Pooh]to the forefront and celebrating a really cool moment.”

By the way, Disney, which released the first animated short starring Pooh in 1966, “Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree,” never stopped making Winnie the Pooh products. And Pooh and Friends are based at Walt Disney World and other parks.

But the 100th anniversary of the publication of Winnie the Pooh, a book inspired by Milne’s son Christopher Robin’s stuffed animals, is an opportunity to revel in the legacy of the “bear with almost no brains.”

Here’s a look at some of the Winnie the Pooh merchandise that’s coming to the Disney Store as well as retailers like Target, Walmart, Five Below, and TJ Maxx.

A new Pooh will be added to Squishmallow’s special Winnie the Pooh collection and Jack’s Pacific’s popular Disney Darlings line.
