Lisa Rinna claims she was drugged at ‘Traitors’ premiere at Abbey

Date:

Lisa Rinna is speaking out after an alleged drug incident at the premiere of her new show.

During an appearance on “Good Day New York” on Thursday, Feb. 26, the soap opera veteran and reality TV personality, who stars in the latest season of “Traitor,” said she took drugs during the season four premiere of the reality competition in West Hollywood on Jan. 8.

TMZ first reported the alleged incident on Monday, which prompted the hosts of “Good Day New York” to ask Rinna about the event held at a convent in West Hollywood.

“Yes, I was taking (drugs). I had fentanyl in my system,” Rinna, 62, said, adding that she later underwent a drug test to check for the substance in her system.

“I’m not kidding. I was on fentanyl, high levels of amphetamines, things like that,” she continued. “But I can’t say much because we’re still dealing with it. It was leaked and my team is currently dealing with it.”

USA TODAY has reached out to Rinna’s representatives for additional comment.

Abbey says ‘no evidence of drink tampering’ after Lisa Rinna accusations

The “Real Housewives” alum was photographed at the premiere of “The Traitors,” and one photo shows Rinna in an all-black outfit and matching hat. Another photo showed Rinna and her Traitor castmates, including Alan Cumming and Colton Underwood, together for a group shot.

In a statement to USA TODAY on Thursday, the Abbey said it immediately conducted a “thorough internal investigation” after receiving reports of Rinna’s alleged drug use, including interviewing staff and examining “all available surveillance footage.”

“When she became unwell, our security team assisted her and safely removed her from the venue,” the statement said. “We found no evidence of drink tampering or suspicious behavior towards her.”

Rinna said her husband Harry Hamlin quickly helped her leave the premiere after the incident, and said many of her friends had similar experiences at the West Hollywood venue.

“This is not the first time this has happened. It’s been happening for years,” Rinna said on “Good Day New York.” “And I think that needs to be talked about. And I’m glad now that it’s clear and we’ll deal with it. I don’t have my time to do it yet.”

The Abbey did not dispute the results of Rinna’s alleged drug test, but the venue said it had “extensive surveillance, trained security personnel and ongoing beverage safety measures in place.”

“We cannot discuss medical findings and do not wish to speculate on toxicology results,” the venue said. “We take reports of guests feeling unwell or unsafe very seriously and follow established investigation procedures.”
