Matthew and Camilla McConaughey are ditching the traditional Valentine’s Day dinner for a horseback ride without pants.

The couple, who have been married for 14 years, chose to stay “true to their Texas roots” by “not making dinner reservations this Valentine’s Day,” and instead “let’s just live the holiday.”

An ad for the Pantalones Organic Tequila brand, titled “Official Tequila of Riding Bareback,” shows the pair toasting while riding horses.

As part of the promotion, you can get a margarita

The McConaughey family is opting for a quirky Valentine’s Day plan this year, but those looking to add pantalones to their date night can head to Fuzzy’s Taco Shop locations nationwide and indulge in party pants margs. “With a two-flavor margarita flight served in a two-legged pants cup, guests can mix and match mango, strawberry or lime and pour each flavor side-by-side on each ‘leg.’ ”

Pantalones said the drinks cost $14.50 and are “colorful, customizable and made to be shared.”

What is Pantalones Tequila?

The Oscar-winning actor and his wife announced their “Super Premium Organic Tequila” series in October 2023.

“No, the world doesn’t need any more celebrity tequila,” they say on the company’s website, which also includes an image of them without pants. “But a kind tequila industry could use a little fun. And that’s exactly what Pantalones are. They’re really delicious and really fun.”

The couple, who married in 2012 and have three children, have published several brand photos and social media posts about their lack of pants (“pantalones” means “pants” in Spanish) since they launched Pantalones in a commercial where McConaughey called Tequila “probably the best thing Camila and I ever did in pants.”

Pantalones Organic Tequila comes in three varieties: Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo, and is made with “100% organically grown Blue Weber agave sourced from 7,000 acres of natural farmland owned by fourth-generation farmers who work with us,” according to the company’s website.
