It’s time to move on, and it’s okay to be a little petty about it.

No matter what stage of life you’re in, breakups bring a special kind of pain, but some businesses and even zoos are hosting events this Valentine’s Day that might help ease your heartbreak.

From zoos that offer to name the rats and cockroaches you feed after your ex, to businesses that will buy what your ex left behind, there are plenty of places that are happy to offer ways for people to cope.

So, if you feel like texting your ex on Valentine’s Day or things are not going well, you should probably put down the phone and do this to defame your ex this Valentine’s Day.

Name a cockroach after your ex

The Bronx Zoo has announced that it is bringing back its naming campaign for cockroaches.

People can donate $15 to name a Madagascan cockroach after someone they love or hate. Additional packages with bonus benefits are also available, according to a press release from the zoo.

Those wishing to donate can purchase the following:

  • Digital certificate, $15: This certificate lets you name the Bronx Zoo’s Madagascar Hisshu Cockroach after someone you know and includes a digital certificate with a custom message.
  • Valentine Virtual Encounter, $35: This package is probably not something you want to give to your ex-Valentine. Chill out like a bug, have a virtual encounter with a cockroach or another surprise animal guest, and chat live with an expert. This package also includes a digital certificate.
  • Mystery Box, $70 (sold out): According to the zoo, the mystery box contains “two mysterious cockroach-flavored gifts.” Items that may be included in the box include Roach socks, Roach beanies, Roach crossbody bags, Roach plush toys, and Roach tumblers. The package also includes a printed certificate with the cockroach’s name and a virtual encounter. However, the box is already sold out.

The above packages can be ordered at BronxZoo.com/Roach.

Name the rat (or cockroach)

Is your ex-boyfriend the human incarnation of a mouse? Well, this might be your style.

The Bronx Zoo’s “Name a Cockroach” campaign is a little more wholesome, but the San Antonio Zoo’s “Cry for a Cockroach” fundraiser is much more than that.

A heartbroken person seeking revenge can donate $5 to give a symbolic name to a cockroach or vegetable, or $15 to name a rat that is fed to zoo animals.

“The San Antonio Zoo is once again helping people around the world turn heartbreak into conservation by relaunching our world-famous ‘Cry Me a Cockroach’ Valentine’s Day fundraiser,” the zoo said on its website.

Donors, who must be 18 or older to participate in the fundraiser, will receive a downloadable virtual card to share with a friend (or ex-lover) and a video of the zoo’s favorite residents.

Get rid of your ex’s belongings and gifts

This coping mechanism is for people who have reached legal drinking age.

Angry Orchard Hard Cider, according to its announcement page, offers the opportunity to “trade your ex-lover’s discarded shit for Angry Orchard.”

Whether it’s an old hoodie or a pair of shoes, pack it up and ship it to Angry Orchard for cash. The brewing company will then separate the items and donate them to appropriate organizations.

That way, “nothing is wasted except the relationship itself.”

While you’re at it, get rid of any jewelry they gave you

On your way to sending your ex-boyfriend’s creepy old shoes to the Angry Orchard, you can stop at J.C. Penney to remove the memories of a love story that turned into horror after it ended.

According to a press release posted on J.C. Penney’s website, “J.C. Penney Exchange” will be held on February 15th and is a one-day event where you can exchange jewelry given to you by your ex-lover for something that suits you now.

“Because we all have that The press release reads, “A ring gathering dust in a drawer. A necklace that cries out, “Who was I?” Every time I see it. ”

The first 100 customers to enter J.C. Penney’s flagship store in Garden City, New York, and the first 50 customers at other participating stores, will be able to trade in old jewelry that has unwanted memories.

Traded-in jewelry will be donated to Good360, a nonprofit organization that keeps unwanted items out of landfills across the country by collecting them and donating them to families in financial need.

Break the news with your Walmart card

If you’re preparing to break up but haven’t yet, Walmart may be able to help. This retailer is selling giant farewell cards and they’re trending on social media.

“You don’t have to die to die for me,” says the front of the tombstone-shaped card. The front of the card features a skull and a purple tulip at the bottom. The inside of the card says, “It was fun while it lasted.”

The Jumbo Gray Tombstone Breakup Card measures 13.5 inches wide and 20 inches tall and is “perfect for expressing love, romance, and heartfelt messages,” according to Walmart’s website.
