Bojangles expands into first Michigan location

Another chicken chain is entering the Michigan market, opening its first store in the western part of the state on Tuesday, February 3rd.

Bojangles, the southern chain known for its chicken, biscuits and breakfast food, has entered the Michigan market with a Wyoming location between Grand Rapids and Grandville. Doors were set to open at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at the new Wyoming Bojangles, located at 1730 28th St. SW.

Bojangles’ first Michigan location is part of the chain’s expansion into new markets, which also includes openings in Texas, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio and Louisiana, according to a news release.

“We are thrilled to introduce Bojangles to Michigan and bring our unique Southern charm to the market,” Bojangles CEO Jose Almario said in a news release. “Our recent expansion into new markets has been met with great enthusiasm, and we are confident the Wyoming community will embrace our delicious products with the same excitement.”

Bojangles offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Bojangles’ menu includes signature items such as Bo’s Chicken Sandwich, Bo’s Chicken Tenders, and Bo’s Berry Biscuits. We have combo meals, chicken tender meals, and chicken dinner meals. The Biscuit Sandwich lineup includes a variety of breakfast sandwiches, but also includes Biscuits and Gravy Sandwiches and Chicken and Biscuits Sandwiches.

Bojangles got its start in Charlotte, North Carolina nearly 50 years ago.

The chain is known for its hand-breaded chicken with biscuit dough that Bojangles calls “boldly seasoned.” Bojangles is also known for its “Legendary Iced Tea” and sides such as seasoned fries, dirty rice, and macaroni and cheese.

Bojangles’ operates more than 850 company-owned and franchised restaurants in 22 states.
