Bill O’Reilly reveals illness and says he is battling an illness
Bill O’Reilly, 76, said he is suffering from an undisclosed illness and has put various media projects on hold while he undergoes treatment.
Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly is providing more details about his health after announcing he was pausing various media activities to undergo treatment for an undisclosed illness.
At the end of a column published on his website, the bullish Republican reporter revealed that he had been hospitalized for four days with a “genetic disorder that causes internal bleeding.”
“I’m truly amazed at the reaction to my condition. Sitting in the hospital for four days gives you a lot to think about,” he wrote. “I have the best medical team led by Dr. Ira Jacobson to keep me on the field. Thankfully, we don’t have socialized medicine in this country. I would be in a dark container right now.”
Mr O’Reilly, 76, vowed to “fight the good fight”, adding: “There are many people in far worse situations than me.”
“Longevity is not up to me,” he said. “My Christian belief is that we are all here for a reason, and in fact there is a time for every season.”
He expressed gratitude to those who supported his health, but blamed those who did not.
“I did not expect such an outpouring of concern. Yes, a few of the usual suspects tried to cause further harm to me and my family, but karma will take care of them,” O’Reilly continued. “The good news is that the number of haters far outweighs the number of compassionate people.”
O’Reilly previously hosted “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox for more than a decade, leaving the show in 2017 after the show settled five sexual harassment lawsuits and paid millions of dollars to accusers.
Where is Bill O’Reilly now?
Mr. O’Reilly left Fox after sexual harassment allegations and subsequent lawsuits became public, and he went on to start a podcast and make career guest appearances on Newsmax and NewsNation.
O’Reilly, a free agent after years of being one of Fox’s most recognizable faces, is offering fans a premium membership to the website.
His show “No Spin News” is available on Amazon FireTV, Apple TV, and Roku. His latest book, “Confronting Evil,” is provided as a welcome gift to subscribers. This book examines the worst acts of dictators and autocratic leaders over the centuries.
