President Donald Trump received a mix of cheers and boos during the national championship game between Indiana University and the University of Miami.

On January 19, President Trump was shown on a screen during the national anthem at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The president’s appearance also received mixed reactions from fans who attended a viewing party at Simon Skyot Assembly Hall on the Indiana University Bloomington campus.

President Trump made headlines over the long weekend for his increasing focus on buying Greenland, vowing to impose new tariffs on eight European countries unless the US fails to do so.

Trump has attended numerous sporting events since returning to office a year ago, including the Daytona 500 and the U.S. Open tennis finals. Last fall, he was booed when he played in the finals at New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a Miami native, was scheduled to attend Monday’s game against President Trump.

Other politicians attending the game include Indiana Governor Mike Braun.

Alexandria Burris contributed to this report.
