Today, January 15th, is a good day for Cheez-It fans with gluten sensitivities or allergies.

Cheez-Its joins a growing lineup of gluten-free snacks, including Chips Ahoy! and hippea chickpea puffs. The brand announced that it will launch gluten-free “Original” baked snack crackers on January 15th.

“Following years of demand, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Cheez-It Original Gluten-Free Crackers,” a statement posted by the brand on social media read. “We took the time to bring Cheez-It’s salty, crunchy, cheesy flavor to an equally appealing gluten-free version.”

Since the announcement was made, fans of the “beloved” snack have made it their mission to get their hands on a box, sharing clips of themselves rushing to stores, sampling, or both.

“I’ve been saying for a long time that Cheez-Its should make gluten-free Cheez-Its, and I think the universe just listened to me,” Kendall Morris said in a Jan. 12 TikTok video. “They finally made gluten-free Cheez-Its. Life is complete.”

Here’s what we know about the rollout, including where to get the new gluten-free snacks.

The gluten-free community is excited and ready for more

The online gluten-free community has been looking for an alternative for some time, especially since Cheez-It announced on July 7, 2025 that Cheez-It Original Gluten-Free Crackers would be “coming in 2026.”

“Gluten-free cheese is coming in 2026 so I’m on my hands and knees and this is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” X user AJ Jordan said in a post on the day of the announcement.

With the introduction of Cheez-It Original Gluten-Free Crackers, fans are asking for more flavor.

Maxine Barney commented on Cheez-It’s Instagram post announcing the launch of the new crackers: “Absolutely amazing, but next time I’d like the white cheddar. Thank you.” “2026 will be about 10 years since I started looking for gluten-free products.”

Are Cheez-Its gluten-free?

Cheez-It Original Gluten-Free Crackers are the brand’s first gluten-free product.

“Cheez-It has received requests over the years from fans who have transitioned to a gluten-free diet or from fans who have never been able to enjoy Cheez-It,” the brand said in a statement.

“The brand created this product in direct response to the demands of its fans, with a recipe designed to deliver Cheez-It’s iconic flavor and crunch that fans crave without compromise,” Cheez-It added.

According to Cheez-It, the crackers are certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO), so they are safe for people with celiac disease to consume. All Cheez-It Original gluten-free crackers are made in a GFCO-certified gluten-free facility, the brand says.

Where to get gluten-free Cheez-Its

The brand says its newly launched products, including the gluten-free Cheez-It, will be “more widely available” at retailers nationwide from February to March.

“Each retailer has their own shipping and inventory schedules, so availability may vary by location,” Cheez-It senior brand director Carla Tragseiler said in a statement.

In addition to gluten-free alternatives, Cheez-It’s will also launch new snack assortments in 2026: Cheez-It Snapped Honey BBQ, Cheez-It Grooves Loaded Nachos, Cheez-It Ultimate Snack Mix and Cheez-It Crunch.

All products have a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $4.49. However, prices vary by region and retailer.
