Golden Globe Awards red carpet: See the night’s best clips on USA TODAY
Ralphie Aversa reveals the biggest highlights from his Golden Globes red carpet with Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio Del Toro, Hailee Steinfeld and more
Leonardo DiCaprio can shine on more than just the silver screen.
Oscar-winning actor DiCaprio is in the news for his flamboyant impersonation at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards ceremony, which will be held on Sunday, January 11th. DiCaprio, 51, was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his latest film, “One Battle After Another.”
But it was a clip of DiCaprio chatting during a commercial break at the awards ceremony that caught the attention of fans.
DiCaprio, who was talking to other attendees off-camera, was seen making animated gestures during the conversation, including pointing and waving animatedly several times. The actor, who was sitting next to Sean Penn, was laughing and grinning playfully throughout the conversation.
At another moment during the ceremony, DiCaprio was photographed talking to actress Kate Hudson at a table. The “Titanic” alum covered her mouth with one hand, seemingly engrossed in conversation with Hudson.
Reacting to DiCaprio’s energetic appearance, Kyle Buchanan of the New York Times wrote, “During this commercial break, something energized Leonardo DiCaprio.”
As fun as awards season has been, the Golden Globes weren’t necessarily a win for DiCaprio.
Although his film “One Battle After Another” dominated the ceremony, winning Best Musical or Comedy, Best Supporting Actress (Teyana Taylor), Best Original Screenplay, and Best Director (Paul Thomas Anderson), DiCaprio lost the Best Actor award to Timothée Chalamet for “Marty Supreme.”
